Daniel meets you in the elevator. At first, he thought you were a Formula One fan who snuck into the condo trying to get a glimpse of your favorite driver (himself, obviously) but, he learned that you’re his new next-door neighbor. It was awkward; he accused you of following him to his room and felt like the world’s worst person when you—dressed in the cutest pink dress and matching flowy bow tied in your hair—stared at him terrified, before you unlocked the door to your flat and slammed the door behind you quickly without a word.

He sent you a bouquet of pink orchids the next morning, along with a hand written card apologizing for his rude behavior and that he hoped the two of you could become good neighbors and friends. It seemed all was fixed, as the next time he ran into you, you greeted him softly, like nothing had happened. It was 5 A.M: you were starting your day and Daniel was ending his night.

Daniel was on his third drunken attempt of shoving his key vaguely in the direction of his lock on the door, when you exited your flat with a yoga mat over your shoulder and a water bottle that was comically large. With a hushed ‘good morning,’ you kindly helped Daniel into his apartment, telling him to drink a big glass of water and have pain killers ready when he wakes up; there was no judgment in your wide brown eyes, only tenderness, and a slight hint of worry. He woke up after twelve at the sound of a knock, his head pulsing with pressure and his sight slightly blurry from not quite sleeping all the drunk away.

He eventually made it to his front door and found that you ordered him lunch: a chicken wrap and sweet potato chips, from one of his favorite brunch cafés—Daniel figured you have good taste, as he doesn’t recall ever telling you about this meal in either of the two interactions you’ve had. So, he ate, drank plenty of water, freshened up, and debated if he should go over and express his gratitude, or whatever. He decided he will, and found himself putting on a nice watch and a few too many sprays of his expensive smelling cologne. Daniel didn’t let any thoughts of why he was prettying himself up cross his mind; he’s simply thanking you; a girl far too young, and probably far too sweet for his tastes.

You brushed off his thanks shyly, hidden behind your door with a blush strong enough Daniel saw it paint your dimpled cheeks and he knew he wouldn’t be able to stay away. Thinking quick enough to rival his reflexes, he offered to exchange phone numbers so the two of you could meet up and he could buy you a coffee. You entered your name in his phone with a yellow heart next to it.

The coffee meet-up had to wait due to Daniel’s hectic schedule, yet the texting flourished. He initiated the beginning of your text thread the next day, mindlessly texting you about how he overheard Emilio (another neighbor) arguing with his wife on the phone; Daniel said she’s probably going to mail him divorce papers within the next week. You replied that it was mean to eavesdrop and gossip. Daniel followed up saying it’s not eavesdropping if said person was screaming into his phone in the hallway, and he wasn’t gossiping, he’s merely keeping you informed.

Daniel laughed in the middle of his motorhome listening to the voice message you sent four days later, eagerly telling him about how you saw Emilio in the lobby with a couple boxes and without a wedding ring on his finger.

It was a warm morning, when you and Daniel finally managed to meet for coffee. You scrunched your nose in distaste when he ordered plain black coffee; Daniel did the same when you ordered a drink that was mainly milk and sugar. Daniel chuckled when you claimed the amount of coffee in your drink had you wired for the rest of the day. He decided to let you believe that, and not inform you that it was most likely the sugar content that had you crashing hours later.

Daniel invited you over for burgers one night and you comment that his home looks like a mix of a “mojo dojo casa house” and a “minimalistic hell.” You gifted him a throw blanket and a potted plant the next day, and continued to text him reminders about watering it.

Around 10 P.M. on another night, he’s yelling at Max for cheating at fifa. Max laughed around the lip of his beer bottle before the two of them paused at the sound of a knock. Daniel checked the door and opened it to see you: fuzzy slippers, eye-mask on your forehead, bonnet, matching pajama set, and pout on your lips with a sleepy tilt to your eyebrows. He apologized for the noise and promised to quiet down. Daniel threatened to kick the Dutchman out when he teased him for having a “crush.” He doesn’t get crushes, he’s a grown man.

Daniel spends less time in night clubs and more time with you. You took him to sip and paint nights, pottery classes, hiking, even bookstores. You order him to not open any of the books he’s holding for you; Daniel tries to take a peek when you scan through one and you slam the book shut, saying it’s too dark for your liking. He doesn’t comment when you end up getting it (Daniel paid).

He kissed you in your apartment, halfway through Howl’s Moving Castle. He proceeded to tell you it was a mistake. You teared up when he said you were too pure for him, arguing back that you weren’t a child. The tears fell when Daniel claimed he’s too old for you, that he’d only hurt you. He returned to his apartment, figurative tail tucked between his legs, and heard you crying through the wall. He fell asleep hating himself.

Daniel distanced himself from you; he misses your shared adventures and condo gossip, but he never forgets to water your potted plant, even without your texts. He fell back into the clubs, bringing home various women but never manages to get them in bed due to various things going wrong. He gets stuck in the elevator with Stephanie who happened to claustrophobic for hours, locked in the stairwell with Sofia who sprains her ankle in five-inch heels, the fire-alarm interrupts him and Kiana just as he unlocks the door, and his kitchen sink burst when he lifted Laura on the counter.

He tries to console Laura, who runs from his flat in drenched clothes, and sees you staring at her in confusion from your doorway as she rushes past. Daniel apologizes for waking you again, and you shrug, ignoring his words, murmuring that he should call maintenance before he floods the entire floor and shutting your door in his face.

Your potted plant starts to wilt, no matter if Daniel moves it in or out of direct sunlight, if he waters it less or more, or if he changes the soil, or adds fertilizer. The universe has it out for Daniel.

He finds himself in an ultra-private lounge, dim-lighting, sultry piano, and dark decor enhancing his dramatics as he reveals how he ruined his life to Max, Lando, and the bartender who will be tipped handsomely for pretending to care. The piano fades to the end of the piece just as Daniel wraps up his lament.

“It sounds like you deserve it, honestly,” Max stated bluntly, Lando nodding agreeably at his side.

Daniel groans into his hands, lifting his head to say that he’s already aware of that, but freezes when he sees you rise from the seat of the piano. Your figure is snug within a floor length, backless, black dress, complemented with gold jewelry, and makeup that opposes your angelic nature. You bow your head slightly in the direction of the tables clapping at your performance, stumbling briefly when your eyes meet Daniel’s. You smile softly and begin to make your way over to him.

“Oh, fuck,” Daniel shrinks into his seat, as the other two drivers stare at him in confusion.

“Hi, neighbor,” you start airily, before turning to smile at Lando and Max, “Hello.”

“You didn’t tell me you worked here,” Daniel mentions.

“You never asked,” you narrow your eyes at him, before relaxing, “I also don’t work here—this is my brother’s bar. The pianist suddenly fell sick and I offered to fill in.”

“Oh,” Daniel hums, “This doesn’t seem like your type of scene.”

You snort, rolling your eyes, “You should know better than to tell me where, what, or who I do or do not belong with.”

“Okay!” Lando claps, kicking Daniel’s shin under the table, everyone ignores his muffled groan of pain, “Sit with us for a minute, if you can take a break. Danny is seriously obsessed with you.”

You take the offered chair next to Max and sigh, “Really? I couldn’t tell,” all three men wince at your dig, but you continue, “Did he tell you that he almost flooded the entire floor last week?”

Daniel watches as you charm his friends, the three of you chattering happily over his demise, and ignoring him as you do so. He can’t find it in himself to be annoyed, only thankful, as this is the first time in weeks that you’ve been in his presence for more than five minutes. You smell so good. Is that weird of Daniel to think?

Unfortunately, the four of you are interrupted far too soon. Your brother calls you over from behind the bar; his expression is less than pleased, jaw tensed with irritation, and Daniel thinks the look in his eyes has a hint of crazy. He wonders if you told your brother about him. Hopefully not—the man looks like he could fold Daniel like a lawn chair without breaking a sweat. The three men watch as you argue with your brother; it doesn’t seem like it’s going in your favor.

Lando calls Daniel’s name, “Mate—she’s good for you.”

“Nah, mate. I’ll only ruin her.”

“Daniel,” Max scolds, “The few months you were ditching us for her were the happiest I’ve seen you. I wasn’t worried that you would be passed out in a random club or yacht after giving yourself alcohol poisoning.”

“She’s sweet, Danny. I think she’s exactly what you need,” Lando adds, “You've convinced yourself that you don’t deserve anything good. She’s trying to prove you wrong and you need to let her.”

He doesn’t answer verbally, he chooses to shake his head and remain silent. You make your way over to the table again and stand in front of them with a pout.

“It’s past my bedtime, apparently,” you huff, turning your head to glare at your brother, “Don’t worry about paying tonight, it’s on the house.” You exchange polite goodbyes with Lando and Max, Daniel gets a soft smile. He watches you leave the bar with a sad tilt to his lips, then orders a shot of whiskey.

You’re sat on your couch, freshly showered and ready for bed. It’s 1 A.M. and Daniel usually doesn’t end his nights out for another hour. So, it makes sense for you to be worried when you see his location nearing your shared condo building an hour early. Did you sneakily (his phone password is his birthday, it wasn’t that hard) use his phone and share his own location with you? Yes. But, you did it with good intentions. You worry about him when he’s not with you.

You decide to go down to the lobby and pretend to ask if you received any packages in hopes of intercepting Daniel when he walks in. You don’t manage to step out of the elevator when you suddenly have an armful of a bruised-up Australian. His lip is busted and you can see a bruise blooming high on his right cheekbone. You start to shake with anger.

Furiously pressing the button of your floor and slamming the ‘close door’ button, you frantically question Daniel, “What the hell? I left you not even two hours ago, and you look like a mess. Did you get into a fight, did you get mugged, did you—“

“Did your brother beat my ass for hurting you?” Daniel groans, not fighting your motions as you tug him out of the elevator and into your flat, “Yes, he did.”

You pause and grumble angrily, forcing Daniel to take a seat on your couch. You rush into your kitchen for ice, then to the bathroom for a first aid kit. He doesn’t fight when you order him to ice his cheek, and lets you hold his face to tilt his head at every angle possible, as if it’ll expose any more damage. Eventually, you end up looking into his eyes, pretending that you have the knowledge to know what a possible concussion looks like, even though you really just wanted an excuse to look at him.

Unconsciously, your thumb rubs soothingly along his temple, Daniel leans further into your hand. His tongue flicks out for a brief second, and he flinches when it disturbs the cut on his bottom lip. Blinking rapidly, you clear the haze from your eyes and frown as you turn to rifle through the first aid kit.

“I can’t believe he put his hands on you,” you bite out angrily, finding a disinfectant cloth to clean his lip, “I don’t know why I tell him anything anymore.”

Daniel winces at the sting of alcohol, remaining quiet as he watches the focus that covers your expression.

“I apologize for him,” you mumble, “He doesn’t think clearly when it comes to me, he thinks he’s like my guard dog or something,” you dispose of the wipe and grab an ointment, “I promise you I told him that the only thing you did was waste my time and hurt my feelings,” Daniel deflates under your hands, “It’s not like you physically hurt me…or anything. He’s just an idiot. I’ll kill him.”

At that, Daniel laughs quietly, dropping the ice from his cheek so you can clean that too, “Don’t say that. You’re such a sweetheart, you couldn’t hurt your own brother. Also—I’m not sure if he hoped this would make me stay away from you, because if you keep rubbing my face like that, I might fall in love.”

You hum, pleased you have him eating out of the palm of your hand, “Have some decorum, Daniel. You sound desperate. Also, he knows that I don’t like people touching what’s mine.”

“Oh? You’re possessive,” Daniel teases, “Is it bad if I kinda like that?”

Your heart flutters, he’s really the best for you. He doesn’t need to know about the lengths you went to ensure any of the girls he tried to bring home didn't make it into his bed. It's a shame Sofia sprained her ankle; that was not intentional on your part.

You shrug lightly, “No, it’s not bad. I think it makes you perfect for me. As long as you don’t mind a little crazy. And—don’t think you’re off the hook. You still have to apologize for making me cry.”

Daniel nods seriously, “I’ll fall to my knees and beg right now, if that’s what it takes.”

Sticking a plaster over his cheek, you stand and gesture for him to do so too, “Okay. Kneel.”

“Huh,” he chokes, eyes wide with disbelief, “You’re serious?”

“If you beg well enough, I’ll let you eat me out.”

The sound of his knees hitting the floor echoes.

♥️Reveling in Richonne - TOWL

#44: The Family Gifts (1.05)

I love that they have this scene take place in a souvenir shop. 😊 Rick already turns the whole world into a gift shop when it comes to finding things to gift to Michonne so it’s only fitting that he’d find the perfect thing to get her in this place.

But what's extra special is now Rick's history of getting Michonne gifts has expanded to thinking about gifts for the son she gave him too - with RJ being the ultimate gift for them both. And seeing these two converse as parents in this scene was super heartwarming 🥰...

The scene starts with Rick knocking on the shop's door and then they open it and have the cutest little look exchange before entering the shop. It’s so subtle but I love it. 😊 They’re in such a good, peaceful, lighthearted mood and I always love those moments where it’s so clear that on top of being husband and wife, Rick and Michonne really are best friends. And yes I got all that just from a quick playful look. 😋

They enter and when Michonne walks pass those touristy license plates she taps them with her stick and keeps walking. I love that when she hits the rack Rick immediately looks over at her wondering what that’s about. He looks like if the license plates did something to her then he's gonna have beef with them too lol.

Michonne says, “Never did like those” and I love that Rick immediately knows why as he says, “No 'Michonnes,' huh?” Michonne says, “Not even once” and I like that in TOWL we’re even just getting these tiny insights into the characters from the world before.

I know so many with unique names could relate to this license plate moment. And 'Michonne' really is such a unique and pretty name and uncommon as Okafor noted. 'Michonne' is also Rick’s favorite word. I’m convinced. 😌 And ever since this scene, my headcanon is that Rick, RJ, and Judith definitely work together to create some type of 'Michonne' license plate and gift it to her.

As Rick continues to look at the license plates he stops and sees one that says 'Junior.' And y’all, the second I saw the junior license plate my heart was already bursting knowing exactly where this was going.

I love that they make it a point to show that there are Rick and even Richard license plates available too but the one that catches his eye is 'Junior.' It just shows how Rick is already so proud that his son is his Junior. 🥲

And then my heart just does flips and leaps hearing Rick say RJ’s name for the first time as he so sweetly asks Michonne, “Is this a terrible gift to bring to RJ?” Y'all, I'm smiling and crying at the same time. 🫠 Like how precious is this. 😭

You just know on this road trip home Rick and Michonne have been talking a lot about their kids and I love that Rick is thinking about his son and wants to bring him a gift. Especially because, as I mentioned in an episode 4 breakdown, they have a book they're bringing to Judith so I'm sure Rick wants to make sure they have a gift for RJ too.

I knew after episode 4 we were going to be seeing Healthy & Alive Rick all through episode 5 and that was so clear in this scene. Cuz this is the real Rick right here. Being a whole father. Being his affectionate gift-giving self. I love to see it. 😌

There’s also something so sweet about him wondering if it would be a 'bad' gift. It’s bittersweet because it’s a reminder that Rick hasn’t had a chance to know his son or what he'd like but it’s great knowing he soon will have the chance to learn it all. 

Michonne smiles and then informs Rick that “No one has ever once called him Junior.” I love that when so many of us heard that we immediately decided that this means Rick will be the only one to call RJ 'Junior' and it’ll be their father/son thing. 👌🏽

Rick says, “Ah okay” and puts the license plate back, and then Michonne smiles at him clearly finding him so cute in this moment and knowing the father of her child is the best man on earth.

And then she has the warmest kindest tone as she tells Rick, “You’re bringing yourself back. That’s more than enough.” I love this so much. 😭

It's so touching that Michonne wants Rick to know he’s the gift. The gift that’s more than enough too. 🥹 Like truly their family is going to be so much more whole with his return.

The wording of 'bringing yourself back' also always makes me think of how he’s literally coming back but also he’s been acting like himself again, so it’s like Rick is bringing his true self back rather than burying it. And that’s also more than enough.

I love that Michonne is always reminding Rick of how cherished he is. And it’s also this reminder that him being with them is the best thing he can do. Just like when she said I only feel safe with you, Rick is again getting this confirmation that his presence is as needed and valued as his protection. 👌🏽

Rick says, “The Brave Man, huh?” and I like how this shows that Rick has been thinking a lot about who he is to his kids.

This got me thinking about how when Rick decided to die he had to surrender the idea of ever seeing his wife and daughter again. He accepted that all he’d ever have is the fading memories and just the honor of having got to love and protect them at all, even if for far briefer a time than he’d hoped. So now, it has to be pretty surreal for him to know he really will be back with them and with the son he wanted but didn't know he had.

And if he’s at all worried if he’ll live up to his kids' expectations of him being The Brave Man, Michonne so wonderfully quells those doubts when she again so sweetly and sincerely says, “You are. More than ever.” 🥹🥹🥹

I know I’ve said it 1000 times but I adore the way Michonne believes in and uplifts Rick and this line right here might be my favorite example of that.

I love how Michonne can always sense Rick's subtext and underlying feelings and then address them in the perfect way. Because she can sense that Rick is nervous about meeting his son for the first time and maybe worried about how it’ll go just showing up in his life after all these years. But Michonne saying this is reminding Rick that by choosing to come home, especially when he had been so convinced prior that he couldn’t and shouldn’t, is a brave thing and very commendable and he really is the great man his kids think he is.

It’s so precious too that Rick gets to see that it’s not just his kids but his wife who truly views him as The Brave Man. Like even tho Rick said last ep that he’s not the brave man, Michonne wants him to know their babies got it right with that title. 💯

And by pushing through all the fear that was keeping him chained to the CRM, Michonne thinks he’s the bravest he’s ever been for doing that. 🥹 I appreciate how Michonne and Rick find so many ways to say 'I love you' even without saying the three words directly. And this was 100% that. They really breathe life into each other with every encouraging word and gesture.

As Michonne turns around we get even more adorableness as Rick spots a name bracelet and thinks what he thinks when he sees most any item, “this could be turned into a gift for Michonne.”

So being cute and sneaky trying to not get caught with the jewelry since he wants to surprise her with it later, he grabs the 'Michelle' bracelet and breaks it so that it becomes an M bracelet.

Can my extra self break down all the reasons I adore this real quick? 😋

One; I absolutely love that because Rick notes every detail of Michonne he knows she’s missing her signature M necklace and so, as he’s always been so good at doing, he finds a way to essentially replace the one she lost.

Two; I love that Rick said if this place doesn’t have ‘michonne’ gifts he’ll find a way to make one.

Three; Something about him making the M bracelet on his prosthetic felt symbolic to me. He literally lost that hand because he’d choose being with Michonne over his own limbs. And now after doing everything he could to be with her, he has her and is still finding ways to give her every good thing he can.

Four; if I'm not mistaken, I believe it was said by Danai that the initial M necklace was from Michonne's mom and so I love that Michonne’s two M pieces of jewelry came from two of the people that love her most. 🥲

Five; After all those years of Michonne wearing that wedding ring with her necklace, I love that her husband is now with her and getting her new jewelry…and he’ll also be giving her some even more meaningful jewelry by the end of the ep. Amen. 😏

Six; It’s just so romantic and thoughtful. It’s so Rick to do this. And I love all these heartfelt gestures that add to Richonne’s epic love story.

Rick pockets the bracelet, waiting for the right moment to gift his wife. Michonne then says, “He might be ready for this” as Rick turns around and sees Michonne holding a hatchet, similar to one of Rick's signature weapons in TWD. I adore that she saw that weapon and was like this would be a good fitting gift for Rick’s mini-me. 😋

And then something I always appreciate so much is hearing Rick ask, “Is that who he is?” I think it’s so sweet and such a sign of what a good dad Rick is. Of course, he’d be flattered if his son followed in his footsteps but the question shows that he also wants to know who RJ is regardless of him. You just know he’s prepared to love RJ whether he’s like him or not and I just love that he wants to know all about what RJ is like. 

And then it’s great that Michonne gets to tell him just how much she meant it when she said their kids are some Richonne kids when she says, “Judith has a sword. They’re us.” Hearing her say their kids are her and Rick never fails to elate me. 🥰 It’s such a true statement.

I love imagining that now that they’ve reunited Rick has got to see firsthand that Judith doesn’t only have a sword, she’s a whole pro with the sword just like her mom. 😌

I love how proud Michonne is of her kids. She raised them to be survivors while still giving them a childhood. And seeing Rick and Michonne talk as RJ and Judith’s parents in this scene was everything. The best mom and dad. 💛

But they’re also the best husband and wife and I love how that got to take center stage in TOWL.

So after this lovely parents moment, Rick is back to reminding us why he’s Husband of the Year ever year when he spots the absolute perfect minty fresh gift to give his wife.

And y’all, I gotta do a part two because this next part has Rick saying one of my favorite things of all time and it needs its own post. 😇

Roger would be dead. From complications with cancer, unfortunately.

But when he was alive, he would travel around the country in a mobile house. He'd have friends all around the country, but he mainly only traveled with Rayleigh. Sometimes people would join them though. They'd pick them up at one place and drop them off in another. If you needed to drive a few states over and didn't want to pay for a flight or drive by yourself, you'd call up Rodger and Rayleigh to getcha through it.

In Rouge's case though, Im teetering between her being dead or not. Either way, Ace would not live with her. He would still love with Dadan because Rouge just wouldnt be able to provide for him. I think she would still visit him sometimes, but not enough for Ace to really see her as a mother figure, sorry to say 😞

On the Sora statement though, I love that a whole lot. Shed ofc be the yellow ranger

- also ollie is soooo into being tied up so he loves being venetias little test doll for her “rope lessons” she calls them,, when she first started domming ollie she would recall seeing a porno of a dude being tied up and That caught her eyes so obvs so wanted to try it with ollie,, fast forward to her know doing one of the most difficult and intricate knot work on ollie as he’s quite literally slipping so deep into sub space from the way the rope hugs his skin

Yay thank you for asking. So this one is the Master Emerald deciding to be an embarrassing and show off past visions of little baby Knuckles to his friends.

Its planned to be mostly wholesome and silly but there is of course a hint of angst from the whole "How was this little cutie alone" But even that gets reassurance cuz his friends are given the realisation the got a big, magical rock loving him and looking after him.

Its one of my smaller wips right now, but there's enough of it intact to present a snipet (even if it does end up as scattered and incomplete sentences as it gets towards the end😅)

Around them the world shifted to place them next to an ancient and overgrown statue. Amy’s face brightened the moment she set her eyes on it. “Oh! I recognize this, you were cleaning it last time I visited weren’t you?” Knuckles’ face flushed as he recognized the place too. “Yes, this statue is very important.” The echidna moved between his friends and their sight line of the cupped hands of the statue that rested in her lap. “So don’t get any closer. I can’t risk you damaging it. Tails was sure that was a lie, firstly because Knuckles was a terrible liar and it was the Guardian himself that told them that they were simply observers.  “Didn’t you say this was just a vision and we couldn’t touch anything?” The echidna got more flustered. “Well yes, but I- you- you can’t look.” “Look at what?” Sonic did his best to peer around Knuckles to look behind him but the echidna kept blocking his view. It was now perfectly clear what the Master Emerald was wanting to show them and Knuckles couldn’t feel more embarrassed. “None of your business” None of them moved but the world rotated slightly so that the statue that Knuckles was blocking was now in full view and a little red lump sitting in the lap of the statue caught the eyes of the onlookers. Knuckles grumbled and blushed as his friends' faces lit up at the sight of the mini him curled up and snoozing in the lap of the statue. Amy’s heart swelled as she took in the sight. The baby version of her friend was incredibly cute and a strong desire to scoop him up and cuddle him for hours settled itself in her. He was far smaller than any mammal baby she’d seen and It looked like he would fit perfectly in the palms of her hands. And… he was alone. Something so tiny had been all alone. She couldn’t tell how old he was and he had barely any quill or fur.  “Knuckles… you’re so small.” Knuckles shrugged. “Yeah well Echidna eggs are small. So echidna puggles are small.”

I think it's funny that Milsiril cooing over her babies is typically portrayed as a sign of her infantilizing shorter lived races, cuz it never really hits for me cuz we usually see her doing it to.....her actual children? There's a page where it says "relationships between long lived and short lived races can be complicated" and the whole page is Milsiril absolutely fawning over how cute she thinks Kabru is, but Kabru in the page is obviously like....8 to 10, maybe? So to me it really just reads as her being a mom.

Can she be an overbearing and overprotective mother? Sure. But the concept of infantilization just doesn't hit for me if she's constantly fawning over how cute an ACTUAL CHILD is, like it just reads as the exact behavior I would expect from a parent like her: she clearly wants to be a parent badly enough to adopt multiple times. She clearly cares a LOT about her kids and wants to spoil them, nearly excessively.

I'm biased cuz I will admit right now, I was raised as a spoiled only child myself. But the behavior of thinking that your kid is just the sweetest most cutest most adorable thing in the world is something I almost expect from parents, especially mothers.

I think it's a little funny how down on Milsiril a lot of the cast is because while I'm sure she genuinely does still treat Kabru as if he's still a baby NOW, a lot of what we see of her is, imo, perfectly excusable in the sense that she is just a very emotional and loving mom.

I get that part of why we don't see her interact with any of her adult children really is because her only adoptee that we follow in the story is Kabru, but I think that her being Weird™️ about shorter lived races would come across more strongly if we saw her treating not only children this way but adults. 🤷🏽

every part of your theory about toga and uraraka came true! but what do you think of how canon got toga off the murder train?

horikoshi is genuinely so funny.

for real though i do have to mull this over a bit. there's a lot that i genuinely love about this confrontation, particularly on a character level. getting more info on toga's backstory, uraraka showing some real shonen grit and determination to talk to toga, the way their separate things about smiles were woven together, the taking -> giving of blood and what that would mean between toga and uraraka, the way uraraka admitted she admired toga's freakiest smile revealing she's a bit of a freak, THEY GOT A FALLING THROUGH THE SKY HOLDING EACH OTHER SCENE? sublime. it's a lot of what i wanted out of togachaco and the climax of their respective character arcs.

however. there are character levels that would be better served. if the more societal level themes were present. the shot of naomi spn as toga's quirk counselor is exhilarating, but it's not something that uraraka or any of the other heroes will have to reckon with. or the abuse that toga and any other league members went through with their families and the ways they were ostracized by society - it's cute how uraraka opens herself up to toga and promises to accept her, but how do we extrapolate that into the overall conflict of the story and how society created the circumstances that broke toga? and then of course no one fucking admitting what it means for toga's friend to have been murdered by a government agent except for fucking FUCKING hawks going "jin was a decent guy" YEAH HE WAS HAWKS. WISH MORE WAS DONE WITH THIS. but yeah it's really weird how uraraka despite being told straight up that someone toga loved was murdered, uraraka never has a reaction to that or thinks about what that means in the larger context of the world she lives in.

there's some stuff i'm willing to wait until the end of the story to see how it pans out, but i wish a lot had been better integrated into and paced throughout the story, this final arc in particular, but. it is what it is.

specific to the murder train, i am mollified that toga is very certain that the league is going to destroy everything actually, and that she doesn't intend to go to jail or anything for her crimes, so she's not technically off the murder train. she's just willing to crash her murder train cuz the girl she likes said she had the cutest smile in the WHOLE world. like that's fair.

anyways. not entirely related to the murder train but related to the overall togachaco plotline. there are two things that could have really helped with, if not entirely eliminated, my complaints and really have made uraraka's arc more powerful, which in turn would only have good things in store for toga's.

the way that ALL the students and the aftermath of the war got shoved aside for deku's meaningless angst trip. i want to see uraraka wrestling more with herself about her encounter with toga and what it meant, really taking a look at the world around her and how it came to be, getting into real conflict about the viability of reaching out to and saving the villains despite everything, etc etc. also i want to see more from toga for that period of time between her fight with uraraka and turning up at AFO's vacation island. i would like to see her talk to spinner again.

if uraraka had been involved in the stain confrontation with iida and todoroki (deku is optional). one of the things about uraraka is that it felt like the purpose of her arc was constantly shifting or being rebooted - she became a hero to financially support her parents, actually no she became a hero because she wants to make people smile and cuz she's such a good kid, she's interested in who saves other heroes but this is mostly directed at deku and also the ochaco/deku dynamic is really boring, etc. uraraka being in the fight against stain would fix basically everything. plus it gives an earlier in for togachaco, the girl who helped defeat stain vs the girl who had a crush on stain, it could work so good yall.

Anyways she kinda grew up in the beautiful lake town where’s there’s other yokai amphibians/reptiles live in here

Of course ivy is born into a rich family since her mother is known for her beauty and best selling boutique while her dad is very wealthy and smart! Ivy only have two older sisters, the oldest named sunny who follows in her mother’s footsteps while her second older sister just wants to live her life normally but of course their mother doesn’t accept “rowdy”or ”unladylike” nature in her household even though ivy doesn’t like the annoying fancy rules in her mother’s household.

—1 dad: “I love my dad but we’re not that close or sometimes don’t see eye to eye…he’s mostly focused on her career making sure our home is at float I guess…”

—3 Sunny (older sister): “I don’t know what’s her deal is with me? Like she’s always had to one up me or my other older sister about who can impress my mother more! I know sunny is my mother’s favorite child but damn…why can’t we be sisters who know..?”

—4 poppy (second oldest sister): “She’s pretty cool and I tend to hang out with her more often than my whole family but she’s grown and starting her life, which I’m proud of her that but I wish her the best in life…love ya sis💕”

Oh yea she ran away from home her mother set her up for an future arrange marriage with a Mr. Toad is who another rich man but very creepy…so ivy just snuck out along side with her friends well at first they came out looking for her when they did ivy explained to her friends why she ran away from home cuz she couldn’t stand being in home where mother goes around trying to find a rich man who twice her age to be dating soooo…yea they decided to just leave the lake town never look back and that’s when they ended up in New York City!

- Meanwhile his dad's first wife forgave him for some unknown reason so he's back with her he guesses, he doesn't talk to his dad really at all

- Him and his mom have the damn worst relationship

- He can't stand her 💀 she fucked him up from the time he was born to the time he left for STZW

- In Middle school/Junior high, he pretty much wore the same hoodie everyday of his life

- It was orange so teachers always asked him to take it off until he started wearing it under his uniform jacket and at that point they would just sigh and leave him be 😭

- Has also had the same backpack since middle school 💀 still has graded papers in there from 5 years ago that he hid from his mom

- Heterochromia in his eyes and hair!

- His hair is pretty obvious yk but his eyes not as much

- His eyes are already a gray-brown color but his left one is just a tinge more grey than the other

- Not the MOST affectionate person in the world but he happily gives it out to people he wants to

- Gives out mostly physical touch and words of affirmation (if he doesn't get too flustered while saying them) and prefers to receive them both back

- Knees have scars from constantly being scraped, one from when he got cut by a sea shell at the beach on his lower right stomach, and one on his jaw that goes onto his face from him just being a dumbass

- His favorite person in the whole world is his little sister (well,, one of his little sisters)

- She's 6 years old and also the light of his life

- If you get him Pockeys for his birthday he will actually stab you

- Will loudly mock the noises Reon makes when he sits down just to rile him up a bit

- Was that one fucking kid that banged their hands and pencils against the table to make beats

- Has lots of posters of rappers and rock bands all over the dorm walls (Reon, aka roomie, like the angel he is doesn't mind one bit)

- If he's not going through a manic episode, he falls asleep EVERYWHERE

- They went to a restaurant as a team while the third years were just first years and a second year looked over to speak to him and he was face down on the table drooling with the other first years awkwardly trying to wake him up 😭

- Everyone is terrified of waking him up at first cuz he gets all cranky

- Now they dgaf 💀 they realize he's gonna be cranky either way cuz he's Semi Eita

- Reon's the only one who's gentle with waking him up

- Tendō and Yamagata, and sometimes Taichi, are definitely the most ruthless 😭 they stick ice cubes down his shirt and shit
