Wait a minute, hold up.

BIG MOMMA IS ENGAGED. I was recently discussing how I haven’t posted on here in a while, and the last time, after reading, I clearly hated the world, so sorry about that. It’s rarely ever that deep, honestly most shit that stresses people out, or causes a rift in a relationship isn’t that deep. I was just having a moment lol.

Anyways. I was like clearly...I need to write about my engagement because let’s be real, prior to my dameo, this wasn’t really something I saw in my horizons. A mother, albeit a baby mother, but a mother nonetheless, but MARRIAGE??? In THIS day and age? nope didn’t really see it coming. MAINLY because, who the hell is happily married? Divorce rate for as long as I’ve heard is 50% so now it’s probably closer to 70%. Really encouraging right? My mom and dad divorced when I was younger, other marriages I’ve seen EXCEPT my cousin are all a joke and just a time investment at this point more than anything else.....plus I got bored of all of my guys fairly quickly so like......MARRIAGE? never really saw it coming.

That’s how it goes though right? The best comes when you least except it, and here we are. The most beautiful engagement thought process, the most gorgeous ring #sorrynotsorry and my man. I must admit, when Dame puts his brain to something, it usually results in something epic and I couldn’t have thought of a more perfect way. “Did you know?” sorrrrrrrrt of but seriously not until the very end when I started to think about stuff. Ok we are going to the Mushulu, thats a nice restaurant. He’s talking about getting a filet mignon which was DUMB expensive, my parents ARE here......but I notice he has no ring on his body, so let me get this out of my head before I get disappointed and jump off of the boat from embarrassment and just.....played haha. So then I stopped thinking about it. “LETS GET DRUNK AND EAT GREAT!” That was where my brain switched, UNTIL we got there and he said this is kind of where we began babe! Almost three years ago!

OK wait....IS he gonna effing ask me to MARRY HIM!??!!?!???!?! still no ring box etc so STOP TALYA. Then my mom and chris came and met us and looked DAMN fine. Then I thought if he DOES mother.....you look quite fancy don’t steal my shine haha. His mom and step dad looked great, he was pressed to get this package two days before for a blazer for the night.....but it WAS still nice just to see the two sides of the families together, celebrate his new job, my moms birthday. Screw it. We are just celebrating life.

Then...the toasts came. *momma ang* “lets all go around the table and do toasts! I got champagne for your mom and bears new job”.....*me* “why there’s SIX of us haha* as my greedy stomach grumbled with hunger. I really just wanted to eat my crab cake and get drunk whoops.

Then he stood up. *side eye....whats going on* He started stuttering which like NEVER happens mr. gift of gab. Then he looked at me with THE most serious face ever hahahaaaaa like so serious I didn’t know why. “I want to make you a part of the family officially” *insert wide eyes* *heart racing* *holy poo he’s actually doing this??????? omg he’s on one knee* I honestly don’t know what he said after that because of course I was freaking out and crying, and thennnnnn aside from all the other perfect gushiness, he reveled the a box that just carried a small piece of the sun because I was blinded.

Now I already know *oh you just hype cuz you got a nice ring* I mean. eff yeah i am haha duh! #sorrynotsorry HOWEVER, it’s a few reasons why I am. 1) I don’t care how non materialistic you are every woman dreams that if their dream man proposes, a dream ring comes along with it. We had looked not too long ago, and what we were looking was notttttttttttttTTTTTTT this haha. I honestly couldn’t believe it, and in the video, I actually gasped. It’s really hard to surprise me and have it be something I’d actually want, and this RING IS FREAKING PERFECT. I still catch myself just staring. Is this mine!?!?!?!? haha

2) Then the reality of what it means settled in. OMG IM GETTING MARRIED!!! like, WHAT! And I love AND like him? I actually see a fruitful and long marriage? I love his family.....my fam loves him. Wow. I’m blessed.

I was in a car accident when a girl blew a red light and smashed into my side. $10,000 in auto damages that was fixed rights away. (btw she admitted fault to police so im 0% at fault legally) I went to emergency room for precautionary reasons. That cost $1450. Then little by little the pain started to kick in. I had neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain and terrible pain in my knee. I had MRI on back, knee and neck because those were the worst. That total was about $1800. I was told by the doctor that the mri on my back said I have two herniated disks and I should do therapy. I listened to him and went four times per week for four months. The Mri on my neck came back good. But my knee showed a tear in mcl. I had surgery on that and had to see the surgeon in his office twice plus hospital bills which equals a bill of $14,500. I then needed 2 months of therapy on my knee. Also all the pain meds ive been taking through out the whole process is around $600. I had a ekg for my nerves to test if they were good and that cost $800. So after doing my research I find websites that say the settlement amount s should be all bills multiplied by 3 depending on the persons insurance carrier and coverage. Well this person has $200,000/$200,000. So far all my bills have been paid through my insurance. When I do the math for what all the bills are is comes to roughly $28350. I didn't include the four days per week for therapy and seeing the doctors. That has to be a big chunk also. My lawyer called me and said he was made an offer of $42,000. He gets a 1/3 of that. I think they low balled me soooo bad on this. If i use the X3 multiplier method then it should have been somewhere around $85,000 offer. Remember I didn't even include all the visits to the therapy. Is this a good offer or should I decline and wait for second offer? My lawyer thinks we should wait it out because he has such a big insurance policy that we can get much more especially since that was our first offer.""

Is This Right? (Retinal Detachment/Cataract/Lens/Insur... Question)?

Let me make a very long story short and get right to the questions. I have moved across the United States by myself at the age of 20 with no insurance covered by my parents, nor will they ever if they could. I had a retinal detachment in my left eye. Paid out of pocket for an eye doctor appointment, he freaked out and told me to go straight to the emergency room for emergency surgery since my entire retina was detached. After my surgery, half unconscious too, a social worker got assigned to me because I was under 21 and legally dependent on the state. So the state paid for my surgery. I had a 2nd one too because the first failed. During my 2nd surgery I had cataracts in my eye so they removed the natural lens. And they never replaced the natural lens since they feared the retina may detach again like the first time. But it stay together and I turned 21. So therefore, legally independent by the state. My check up appointment was after my birthday which the front desk of the eye section declared I must pay $80 for every check up visit, which they wanted me to come in every other week. And if I did not pay, I could not go in. Due to my 6 months of surgeries and recover time I had no money, and was not working. I live with my in-laws, and they were taking care of me, but they are certainly not going to pay my medical bills. So here I am now, age 22 and I have been working for about a year. My job does not offer health insurance until you worked for a year, and even then, there is a certain month you can sign up. I have been walking around for over a year without a natural lens, or ANY lens in my left eye. This is in no way like being blind. My doctor had told me that if I got my license and drove, if ever in an accident, I would get in serious trouble because you are not supposed to drive this way. Not that I do, I cannot see correctly so it is wicked dangerous. Having no lens in one eyes messes with your other eye. Hard to explain unless you have literally had this situation before. Sunlight glares into my bad eye, then into my good eye. Same with darkness or bright lights in general. I am actually very blind at night because of this. This is literally ruining my life. I have no money to pay for insurance, or the surgery which can be easily be 10,000 dollars. Is this legal for a county hospital to do? I have never heard of anyone in my situation. Even the thousands of times I have googled and searched. Never heard of anyone in my shoes. What are my rights here? Is there some way I can fight this? Where is my justice? This is holding me back so badly in life. Please someone with real help and not a crappy site they copy and pasted, help! I need some real human help!!""

Need advice on qualifying for subsidized health insurance?

I'm an older full-time college student and my husband works full-time at Walmart. In the past three years, I've been through 4 cancer related surgeries, which were paid for by the breast/cervical cancer Medicaid program. Unfortunately, follow up care and monitoring aren't covered and I was dropped from Medicaid. I'm now on my husband's health insurance, which is basically worthless because our income is under $20,000/yr and the policy has a $4500 deductible plus 20% after. I haven't seen my oncologist for over a year because we can't afford the expensive scans, biopsies, and lab work associated with cancer follow-up with a deductible that high. I thought my situation would change in 2014 with Obamacare. I recently learned from the healthcare.gov website calculator that our income is low enough to qualify for expanded Medicaid (which our state decided not to expand), but I don't qualify for the health insurance subsidies I desperately need because the outrageous deductible health insurance from my husband's job covers spouses. How can a couple with an income so low they would qualify for expanded Medicaid be ineligible for subsidies? I am completely devastated over this and I don't know what to do. Not being able to afford cancer follow up care is putting my life in danger. Even if my husband's employer (Walmart) quit covering the spouses of full-time employees, I think that would only apply to new hires because of the grandfather clause. If getting subsidies was based on income alone the way it should be instead of access to employer provided coverage, I would qualify for a zero deductible policy and $3 co-pays with a monthly premium of around $60. I could then afford the expensive health care I need. We live in a college town so if my husband got a different job, he'd make even less than he does now and we would probably end up homeless. If my husband transfers and we move to a state that's expanding Medicaid, I'll have to quit school and get rid of my German Shepherd and Siberian Husky since it's almost impossible to find a landlord that allows them. We thought another option might be to get a divorce on paper and co-habitate until our situation changes (completing my degree and getting a good job so I can afford the deductible), then re-marry. When I asked about that, someone actually accused me of wanting to commit fraud! How can anyone think of something like fraud when a situation is endangering someone's life? I am desperate to somehow qualify for health insurance subsidies without lying, which could get us in trouble. Any ideas?""
