Don’t get trained to be a cashier. They won’t pay you any more.

Sometimes you will accidentally point a customer to the wrong side of the store because you’re tired. This is a good time to take your break.

Hanging up the phone on mean customers and hanging up again whenever you hear their voice is something you can surprisingly get away with

The employees are good people. It’s corporate who is wrong.

You will go insane from hearing the same messages over Walmart radio over and over again

There’s little to no shock pads anywhere at all. It’s all concrete. Invest in some good insoles for your shoes

Sometimes people will just leave ice cream in places where ice cream doesn’t belong. These people are evil.

if you're living in the US and can at all help it: don't go grocery shopping tomorrow. just don't.

a regular sunday rush is almost always the worst day of the week for retail employees wrt crowd size (people go after church services quite often, among other things), and the upcoming holiday just compounds that massively. especially given the perpetual under-staffing culture that capitalism breeds among store managers, just don't do it.

Just remembered the time I was buying veggies, I forgot the reusable baggies for veggies and fruits and just thought whatever I have a fairly big bag I can just carry it loose. Pull up to the cash register, all good, cashier just throws it in the weight scale thingy, whatever, finished scanning me up. Basterd says “you have a right for bags” scans and throws in another 5 reusable bags in my big bag and while I’m stunlocked tells me I owe him another extra 3 euros for the reusable bags.

Are they just allowed to do that????? What???? Is this some rule I missed??? I just had like 2 apples I’m sorry bro??!?

So anyway that’s why I have 15 reusable baggies at home despite only using like 2 every week.
