I don't make custom Magic cards very often, but I got inspired to make one based on my character for my Ravnica rp sideblog @lotleth-spore-farmer.

I'm posting some Creature tokens I did for my mtg cube where I made up half of the cards. I know I'm posting almost exclusively about Magic nowadays, but hopefully these have enough merits on their own to satisfy my NUMEROUS fans that followed me before I fell into a trading card shaped hole which I'm incapable and unwilling to crawl out of.

First off, Kobolds. I just loved drawing these critters! Couldn't get enough of them. I'm glad I gave them this silly way to dress that seems just cobbled together. Giving them individual ear forms and fur patterns was also a delight.

Next off, Worker and Golem. I'm particularly proud of the worker one because my inking style is pretty heavy, but the illustration still seems airy and full of light.

I made this Goblin Token for Gray Gauntlet Games, a card game hobby shop. Eventually, they'll be putting this in outgoing Magic the Gathering card orders so that customers can use this in their decks!

MTG Proxy art coms
Anybody open for commissions that'll be used as proxy art for MTG cards? Looking for stuff kind of characterized, fantasy spin, light epic etc. I want to get some characters I like from other fandoms turned into proxy cards for an MTG commander deck, but I dont want to use screenshots or steal art already out there. I'm also looking to get a chunk of proxy tokens to fix the themes DM me or something if you're open for it, or send/add links to your com sheets and i'll look through em.

One tool that WotC's been using more and more lately is utility artifact tokens- Treasures, Clues, Food, Blood, Maps, Powerstones. There's some interesting space here. Let's see what else there is to do
Make a card that uses a new kind of utility noncreature token
Your token does not have to be an artifact; if there's a strong flavor reason to make it, say, an enchantment, make it that. Just not a creature. (Or something creature adjacent, like a vehicle). Your token also doesn't have to sacrifice itself- powerstones are an example of ones that don't- but they do need to not get out of hand in multiples and sacrificing themselves are one of the cleanest ways to keep these things in check.
Only additional caveat here is that these tokens are rarely used only on one or two cards (though it has happened with Shards, but we're ignoring that here). If you're making a token, it should be something that's able to go on lots of different cards in the same environment. Think commons.
Submissions are due by Friday the 24th at 12:00 EST.

Made a custom mtg card for Clue/Populate tokens because both of the ones spoiled recently seem very boring to me. Went through a few iterations, and still have to playtest it, but I present you Tsukimi, Roots' Reflection!
(Especially proud of the flavor text)

I am so excited about this one! My very first deck was the WoE Faerie Tribal deck and I couldn't just not make a Faerie one. She is based on a Luna Moth!

You're more amazing than rules
Working on Modified Set 2.0! I've made some commons today and the ally-color archetypes are:

And Enchantments

A lot of these probably really need the context of the enemy-color archetypes to make sense, but this post is already long. One little hint: Red also gets Resonance creatures, but Differently.
#asks#custom cards#i'd put all the cards under a read more but that ruins the image formatting and makes them all huge#resonance originally wasn't an ability word but then i remembered a piece of mtg design wisdom:#if you're writing the same thing on several cards then just keyword it#anyway i'm kinda worried that this set isn't very unique#like the equipment theme is just a basic equipment theme with nothing to set it apart#same with the auras#Resonance helps the enchantment theme stand out a little but it's pretty basic too#oh well probably best to keep things simple#i'm One Person designing a whole magic set solo. making it complicated would be an unnecessary hurdle#in the original modified set i felt like i had to make unique mechanics for the equipments and auras#and for THAT set i probably did because it had like 3 themes. 4 if you count mentor and support as separate and 5 if you count modified#that is Not Enough to fill a set#but now i've broadened the design space a bunch so i'm fine#also thinking about adding Bestow to help get more auras in#supply tokens make for lots of artifacts and +1/+1 counters and auras really need the help#it would be the 5th mechanic in the set (kinda) so that would probably max out my mechanic budget#but i think auras really do need the help#thought about adding Escape but just for auras but that would just make them into equipment#bestow is a very Aura way to make more interesting and better auras and i've already got enchantment creatures so why not

Made my first Magic: the Gathering creature tokens, and decided to start with Zombies. One: cause they're a commonly used token, and Two: my friend has a deck that uses them.
Not much like the average zombie, but hey, did you really expect MY zombies would look normal?
These are business card sized because they're easy to have printed, but also because I personally hate getting my tokens mixed up with my normal cards, and having them a smaller size takes up less table space too.
These will be matte rounded-edge blank-back cards, priced at 10 for 15$ or 20 for 20$. Message me on here if you're interested, payment through PayPal preferred.
I will have a limited stock of 100 of these and I'm only shipping in the US for now. That'll probably change if I do more of these in the future.
It's my first time selling these, but I hope you like em! I had fun making this one and would love to do more.
