Stiles Stilinksi age regression headcannons

go easy on me this is my first HC post 😅

ᴀɢᴇ ʀᴀɴɢᴇ

Stiles mainly regresses around the ages of 0-2 so his regression is geared towards the baby side. A lot of it consists of speech-loss, whines and hums, pointing for what he wants, using basic ASL, clumsy-ness, naps, and lots of cuddling. 

ᴡʜᴏ ᴋɴᴏᴡꜱ?

Stiles is very secretive about his regression, at first the only person that knew about it was his dad Noah, but that was only because of how persistent the man was on finding out what exactly his son was guarding so closely. Then there’s Derek, who eventually becomes one of his primary caregivers. Derek seemed to take the “news” of his regression the hardest, not because he couldn’t accept it but because he had some serious cleaning up to do with his act (Slamming Stiles’ head onto the steering wheel of his jeep for shenanigans, tossing him around, being at the butt end of so many of Derek’s award winning death-glares, he had a lot of making up to do). Of course, where there’s Derek there’s Peter. He looves to tease about his regression at every given chance but is a very protective caregiver when need be. Then there’s Scott who’s always known even before he couldn’t place his best friend’s odd behavior with the term “age regression". He may be the worst babysitter ever for always giving in to ice-cream for breakfast… and lunch… and dinner, but he really means well! Lydia! Stiles was mortified when Lydia found out and avoided her at all costs but eventually got cornered and lectured on “why on Earth would he hide something like this from her when she’s fully capable of taking on whatever role he needed?!”. The rest of the pack learns about Stiles’ regression but initially its Noah, Derek, Peter, Scott, and Lydia.

ᴡʜʏ ʜᴇ ᴅᴏᴇꜱ ɪᴛ

He mainly regresses due to trauma and a not-so-happy childhood. Although, he also uses it to cope with acute anxiety disorders and autism (yup he’s also got autism to me which I can make a separate post about and go much more in depth). Getting possessed by a thousands year old demon sure is a catalyst for wanting to throw on one of his dad’s old t-shirts, making a nest of blankets/toys and curling up on the couch while watching an old comfort cartoon. 

ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɢᴇᴀʀ ʜᴇ ʜᴀꜱ

Baby pacifiers - He has one adult pacifier but the guy adores the tiny baby ones

Onesies - Not a huge fan of how constricting they can be so he only has two or three 

Fuzzy socks - Ohmygod his sock drawer is overflowing with an array of the softest and fuzziest socks he can find at the nearest Target

Stuffed animals - Need I say more? He’s got a couple jellycats (a wolf and a horse), two build a bears he frankenstein-ed and stitched together named Puppy-Bear (can you tell what animals they we’re respectively?), a Pound Puppy, a huge elephant named Jattestor from Ikea, Clarice (a six legged lamb by HoneyLambs seriously check them out they make the coolest stuffed animals), a plethora of Eeyores and a plethora of Furskin’s Bears as well as other customized stuffed animals (no I totally didn’t make this list off of my own stuffed animals, ur lucky I didn’t write them all down)

Pjs - Seriously I think he has a pajama-hoarding problem because at this point he collects any remotely cute and sensory friendly pajama set he lays eyes on

Bottle - his literal favorite piece of regression gear. Nothing fancy, just a small clear blue baby bottle he bought at the clearance section of whatever grocery store he was at

Miscellaneous- building blocks, counter bears, calico critters, jumbo crayons (cus the regular ones are just too small for his taste!), coloring books, stickers (So. Many. Stickers.), night lights, baby utensils, rattles and teethers, pacifier case, and a basket-full of stim toys

i'll be making more headcannon posts but expect them all to be stiles-centric ^^ and thank u @jjtheresidentbaby for all ur support/motivation :D

I know it's incredibly silly to think about like, languages, when this whole fictional show has a wild and incredible premise, but just for a moment, it was fun to think about what language would be written down on the notecards (so Marn didn't have to voice so many NPCs), and what language everyone is speaking and if there's like a universal translator effect from the train?? this doesn't matter at all, just thought about it for a moment bc of the notecard joke lol

Day One: yes! he’s so good at it and I love him so much. i don’t know what I’d do without him.🥺

Day Two: babygirl, bambi, little one

Day Three: nope, just a regressor

Day Seventeen: yes!! i don’t do it very often, but i can pet regress as a fox or puppy

Day Eighteen:I like a bunch of small foods: mac n’ cheese with fun shapes, dino nuggets, applesauce, yogurt tubes, goldfish, orange slices, sesame street frozen waffles, butter and parmesan pasta, apple slices, and so many more

Day Nineteen: idk if i’ve really thought about it, but i’d love to have a canopy bed with lots of stuffies and cute pink bedding, all the toys i could want, a tv to watch disney movies, and lots of cute storage for my little gear

Day Twenty: my boyfriend pointed out that i sometimes adopt different mannerisms and a different voice when i do my favorite “little kid” activities like coloring or building legos (which we used to do together anyways). i started realizing that i experience a different state when i get really excited about baby/toddler things or when i feel most vulnerable in a situation. i searched it online and found all these things about age regression. my awareness about age regression opened my mind to it and i started doing it consciously for fun or to cope.

Day Twenty-One: just one, and it’s a baby paci🥺i really want to get a custom deco one soon

Day Twenty-Two: probably 20, but i have 4 that i keep on my bed at all times and cuddle with every night

Day Twenty-Three: my boyfriend treating me like i’m little, listening to my smol playlist, classic disney movies, looking at some toys, sometimes even just putting on tall socks or wearing oversize shirts or hoodies with no pants underneath

hey, how do you customize calico critters in detail? I really want to do one for my sister to make a black cat using the Persian.

So I’ve only done it a couple of times (I want to do it more, but I haven’t made time for it), but I can definitely point you at some resources! It’s a lot of fun and it’s deceptively simple. The big key is PATIENCE... you want to use a small brush and paint each of the flocked hairs on the figure with thin coats of acrylic paint and build up the color very slowly so that it never gets heavy or clumped. 

Here’s the post where I turned my little white baby bunny into a dutch rabbit.

This post shows how I turned the grey tabby cat into an Egyptian fruit bat (MUCH more involved with a LOT more photos)... 

Neither of these really explain the process much, of course, but don’t worry- I GOTCHU... there are many others who have made brilliant custom Calico Critters (otherwise known as Sylvanian Families), such as this Cheetah Family, explained in great detail.  That should give you a fantastic start where my posts are lacking...

A low hum resonated from the room. “Hnng… no no no!” a voice suddenly grumbled. A paper was crumpled into a ball and tossed into a paper wastebasket, where a mountain of wasted paper had begun to pile up on. 

“This dumb report feels like a dumb fanfiction!” They ran their fingers through their thick, curly hair and rested their head on a desk. Orange irises glared through a pair of crooked eyeglasses, almost as if trying to burn a hole through the desk. “What am I gonna turn in on Friday? I’ve got nothing!” They sat in silence until they heard a clattering noise from her door and then-

BAM! A human blur exploded into the room! 

“N’omi! Play with me!” a cheery voice rang out. The blur zoomed up the chair and up “N’omi’s” body, like a squirrel climbing a tree. 

Naomi Rodriguez sighed and casually put the hyperactive child onto the ground. “Ah, jeez, Maya, I have to do homework, and-”

BAM! Another blur burst into the room and attacked Naomi, fully knocking them out of their chair and onto the floor. 

“C’mon, c’mon! Please please please!” another bright voice added to the noise of the other tiny child.

“Uff-” Naomi heaved as the weight of the two hyper children rested on top of her. “Mia, get off!” 

Maya and Mia were Naomi’s younger twin sisters. Ever since the two could walk, they would constantly annoy her to no end, even when their mother tried to keep them on the other side of the house. Despite this, she still loved them to no end. 

“Okay, okay. I’ll play,” Naomi sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. Maya and Mia cheered loudly. “But you have to be quiet, okay?” The twins nodded eagerly and quieted down, awaiting their first game. 

Naomi hummed loudly as she tapped her chin, then a devious smile grew on her face. “Let’s play hide and seek. I’m gonna count to thirty now. One, two…”

“There, now you’re all better.” 

With a push, a large figure rose to full height. He looked down at his masterpiece: a calico kitten with a bandage around its front leg. It let out a quiet mewl and blinked up towards the figure, twisting its head this way and that way.

Derek Crosse didn’t know how, but he always seemed to attract a variety of animals, despite his large, intimidating build. No matter where he went, there was always a critter that wanted to walk up to him. This time it was a calico kitten that had been wandering the street by itself when Derek was walking home after __ practice. It had an old, nasty cut on its leg and Derek was quick to take action. For once he was glad that he got injured so much to where he could certify himself as a nurse or doctor. 

The kitten, meanwhile, rubbed its body against Derek’s leg as a sign of thanks. He gently picked it up and checked its neck through the matted, dirty fur.

“Hm, looks like you don’t got a collar,” he murmured, “I’ll take you home for the night, ‘kay?” The kitten let out a yawn, almost as if content to hear that. It purred and snuggled its thin body into his arms, and soon enough, its breathing began to even out.

Derek smiled and began to walk home with the cat cradled in his arms. Maybe if his moms were nice enough, he’d get to keep the calico.

“Haha, yes! Read ‘em and weep, boys!” 

Groans and grumbles of anger resonated within the computer lab as one gamer jumped up from his chair. He cheered and pumped his fist in the air as he celebrated his victory. 

“Alright, alright, you’ve had your fun, now get outta here ‘fore I close up. I won’t hesitate to lock all o’ y’all in here.” Julius, an older man who was the manager of the lab, stepped away from his desk. He waved his ring of keys in the air, proving that he could do it in a heartbeat. The grumbles continued as people filed out of the lab. 

“C’mon, gramps, I know ya won’t do that. You’re too much of a softie to do that to your most valued customer,” the victorious gamer teased, yellow-green eyes winking up at him.

“Call me gramps one more time, Charles Nakai, and I’ll leave you to sweeping duty,” the older man huffed as he karate chopped Charles’ fluffy almond-brown hair. 

When Julius Nakai used anyone’s full name, he would hold true to his promise, especially if he was speaking to his grandson. Sighing, Charles (or “Charlie,” as he preferred) collected his headset and mouse and logged off the computer. Even though he wasn’t obligated to, he grabbed the broom and began sweeping the lab. 

Fifteen minutes later, the computer lab was spotless and ready for closing. Charlie stood next to Julius as he locked up the first floor for the night. The two walked up to the second floor of the building, which was their home. 

Charlie flopped down onto the couch, a worn leather piece that had seen better days. His grandfather clicked his tongue as he walked by him. 

“I don’t know how you’re able to play so much and still maintain your grades above average,” Julius sighed as he prepared a small dinner for the two of them. “You’d think that there’d be a balance between the two.”

“That’s just how good I am,” Charlie smiled from his upside-down position. “Now, what’s for dinner?”

“Last one and I’ll let you off tonight.”

A figure looked up from the girl’s crouched position. Nodding in response to her mentor, she turned her attention back to the target ahead of her. It was already worn with punctures, but the middle circle had yet to be touched. 

Fuschia pink eyes narrowed down as the figure drew back a bowstring, an arrow in place. She steadied her arm. After a few moments of silence, the hand let go of the arrow and then-

THWUMP! 

Bullseye.

“Nice one, Nina!” a female voice cheered from the sideline of the target arena.

Nina Shroff let go of her breath as she stood up. She wiped her brow as she faced her father, her mentor, and older sister, Stephanie, who had her hands clasped in a prayer position near her mouth as her eyes sparkled with pride. 

Her father, on the other hand, nodded in approval, a ghost of a smile on his lips. “Good, you’re aim has been improving with each passing day,” he praised his daughter.

“Thank you,” Nina sighed. She hung the bow on a rack that held more bows. “I know that this won’t be the end of training, though.”

“For tonight, yes. I have to keep my promises, otherwise I’d never hear the end of it from Steph.” He jabbed a thumb at the older girl, who huffed and playfully pushed him away. “I’d never do that to you!” 

A small smile appeared on Nina’s face. The days the three of them could get along this way were few and far between. She relished in the feeling of this moment, unsure of when would be the next time they would all get be happy like this.

“Nice spike, girl!” 

A girl, clad in purple sports clothes from head to toe, came down from her jump. Sweat shined on her tan tace and she grinned broadly. “Thanks, I’ve been working on it!” she shouted back to her teammate, still energized with adrenaline. 

The shrill sound of a whistle pierced the air. “Alright, everybody, gather ‘round!” the coach demanded. At once, fourteen girls surrounded their coach, a stout, middle-aged woman with a curly brown bob framing her face. Despite her height, she was no one to mess around with. 

“Alright, I’ve given you youngins the day off tomorrow, but be ready for Saturday. It’s our first game, and we may be a community team, but we show ‘em no mercy. And you, Mara Estes.” The coach pointed at the girl in purple. “You may be a rookie player, but I will expect as much effort as my most experienced players.”

Mara gave a quick nod, shifting the position of her hijab. “Yes, Coach!”

Have y’all seen the new Town Series from Calico Critters?  OMG! It is gorgeous!  We are huge fans of the Red Roof Series. My mother-in-law and I both enjoy buying items and sets from Calico Critters for my daughter, Kate, just as much as my daughter loves to play with them.  Our local toy store has various toys available for customers to play with, one of which is Calico Critters.  My daughter first encountered Calico Critters at this toy store and the toy store’s marketing scheme worked! We became repeat customers to their store and to Calico Critters.  At that time Kate loved the pandas at the zoo, so her first family set of choice was the Wilder Family.

    This lead to a love of all the little babies and their teeny adorable bottles and pacifiers, so the Sandy Cat Twins came home with us.

Tokyo, Japan (June 6th, 2017) — When it comes to product I feel like the world is getting smaller. Trends are moving faster across oceans and consumerism in this space is much more global than the borders that divide us. Japan has traditionally been a beacon for the unique and and the abstract and my adventures in Tokyo this year aligned with that theory. I created this trend report as a composite of what I saw at the Tokyo Toy Fair and the shopping I did in some of Tokyo’s trendiest neighborhoods – Shibuya, Omote-Sando, & Hirajuku.

POKEMON – A little obvious that I would come back from Japan and tell you Pokemon was hot – but it was EVERYWHERE. This brand was much bigger this trip than when I came to Tokyo 12 months ago. This uptick aligns with what is happening in the US as Pokemon is the #1 brand in the US up 104% YTD according to NPD.  This growth is especially being driven by the Pokemon Sun & Moon trading cards.

SUMIKKO GURASHI – This is the next big brand for introverts. Following in the success of Rilakkuma and Gudetama, Sumikko Gurashi is a band of coy, kawaii characters that hang out the the “corner of the room.” With powerhouses TOMY Takara and Bandai both producing products for the property, it gives it the assortment and credibility to make the jump to North America.

PURIKURA (Picture Club) – ¥400 (roughly $4) allows a young girl to participate in the hottest trend in Japan. These are store fronts (or clubs) full of digital photo booths that let you and your friends take and edit your photos with fun filters and emojis. Each photo booth is branded with famous models, pop stars, and fashion icons that offer unique customizations and various digital swag. The girls get the photos emailed and promote the trend on social media to show off how kawaii they are to all their friends. A quick search for #purikura on Instagram yields 250,885 results.

THE SNACK WORLD – From Level-5, makers of Yoki Watch, comes their newest content crossover property that will have both cartoon and video game coming out later this year. The trailer below showcases phenomenal animation and with TOMY behind the brand with the master toy license it should be on everyone’s radar for top boy’s property in 2018.

NORTH AMERICAN PRODUCTS IN THE JAPANESE MARKET – As the internet connects us as “one consumer,” plenty of American brands have found their way over to Japan through distribution partners. New entrees from Moose, WowWee, Spin Master, and more are debuting at the same time in Japan as they are in North America further proving how important it is for all toy companies to think globally when launching a new brand. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to see familiar products in Japanese packaging.

Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters/Epoch – The brand originally launched in 1985 and has built an incredible following globally over 32 years in the market.  The quality, meticulous attention to detail, and a multi-million-dollar TV spend are catapulting this brand into the next echelon.  While there are plenty of fashion-focused small doll brands, Epoch offers a unique positioning, focused on traditional play patterns, wholesome motifs, and a modular system that promotes multiple purchases.

TOIO – Sony is entering the toy market in a very unique way; instead of making a product, they are launching a platform.  Think of it as a toy gaming system that will rely on traditional toy makers to make games leveraging their brands.  The product comes with game mat, two robotic smart cubes that are popular construction toy compatible, and two accelerometer controllers.  This allows for some really unique play that builds from the STEM movement and integrates it into a seamless play pattern for kids.  Check out the video to really get a feel for the most innovative product at the show.

**BONUS** SQUISHY EVERYTHING – Yes this trend is a big deal in Japan and we have already seen it percolate into the North American market.  Food items continue to be the current driver for the trend but licensed foam plush is coming; my favorite was the Mochi Mochi brand from Tomy.
