One of the reasons I love psych so much is that it's just a love letter to pop culture in show form

All the 80s references, all the guest stars in the show, the visual homages it's all just a big thank you to pop culture and while I didn't grow up in the 80s, watching the show makes me nostalgic somehow

It's beautiful and I don't think that's something you see alot of in shows these days

old age/aging headcanon

Well first of all there'd have to be a universe in which he does grow old. I'm sure it exists but there isn't many.

Now if there IS, he'd be the LEAST gracefully aging guy. I'm talking plucking all his gray hairs out in the mirror before he goes anywhere, crying himself to sleep at the first suggestion of crow's feet and working out extensively even if his spying-aged joints don't agree anymore.

He wouldn't have much to do, being retired and lonely would drive him up the walls more often than not. He'd have more freedom than any other time in his life, and he wouldn't be great with it. He'd make dumb purchases and stupid decisions, he'd often wake up not remembering the night before, and when he'd do he'd regret it.

As his chronic pain from all his spying injuries get worse, he'd try his best to power through it or self-medicate with alcohol. Neither work.

He'd keep seeing Owen out and about, even though he knows it's impossible. He'd see him in his dreams, falling, laughing, torturing him, dancing etc. In his worst moments he'd talk to him.

In the end either the alcoholism or old age catch up to him. His funeral wouldn't be attended by many.

As I said, I don't see a possibility where after he kills Owen he moves on with his life and grows old happily. He probably dies bleeding out alone and resentful in some Chimera facility before he even hits 40. But even if he'd live, his life wouldn't be a happy one. <- saying this, I'm reading back all I wrote and GOD that's grim. even for me.

This time he groaned louder, prompting Gale to slap a hand across his mouth and hiss into his ear. “I can hear something from outside, I think someone’s trying to climb in through your window.” “Wha?” Said Bucky through Gale’s fingers, his eyes squinted up from sleep and the fading effects of the booze. “My wha?” He repeated and his expression of pure confusion would have been adorable if Gale wasn’t so concerned with the fact that they were probably about to be murdered. “There’s someone breaking into your house! I can hear them messing with the window!” He said, looking around the room for anything that might be used as a weapon. Bucky just frowned thoughtfully, sitting up on his elbow before shouting. “Hello?”
