One of my coworkers keeps commenting on how I'm always working on some craft or other and they've literally never seen me without something next to me, and it's like... what can I tell you; each crochet or knit stitch or bit of fiber drafted out puts an extra centimeter of distance between me and the flesh eating snail that's been chasing me my whole life, and if I stop it WILL catch up within the fortnight, and it promised the first thing it will eat is my hands, so if nothing else I want a stock of socks and bags and my gloves mended and stuff. I mean you know how curses are.

As this little bastard of a feline owns some of my soul currently, I simply could not resist crocheting him for myself.

Certainly far from perfect - overall, I'm happy with the result and excited to snuggle the menace from now on! I free-handed this pattern - I'm torn on whether or not to add the monocle at the moment, but the bowtie was a must. As well as a big fluffy tail!

as a fiber artist I fucking LOVE the sweater curse

it's such a good litmus test for relationships

cause like.... would we feel certain that the sweater curse is going to affect us if we didn't already know that our partner would take our skills and generosity for granted? would we know that the sweater curse was going to prove that we're taken for granted if our partner wasn't someone who asks "when are you going to make me x?"

it's a litmus test- if you believe in the sweater curse and you think about making one for your partner and a little voice in the back of your head doesn't say "but they've shown me they won't be like this" then maybe think about some things

Why did I do this to myself? XD

The horns may have taken me an hour..... Because I wanted them to be mirrored... but crochet has a right and a left side... So I had to crochet one with my Non Dominant hand.... Which took me like, 4 tries :')

Nevermind the amount of magic rings I needed will haunt me xD *So many points!!!!*

I also had to use a 1.25mm needle to get the monocle small enough... ToT

Overall: Torture. 0/10 do not recommend... He stares into your soul while you work on him if you do the eyes too early xD

I'll sell him I think, he needs to make up for the hand cramps somehow 🤣
