Let the semester commence... I can already tell is going to be a good but intense one. One more year around the globe, but this year hit a little different. You know, there are days when things feel so much heavier than they might be. • The semester starts today and yesterday all I could think about was, “how in the world do I do this?, how did I get through this semester let alone the last two years?” 99.9% of the time I seriously do not know or believe it. Somehow, someway I have continuously made it to this point. So I’ll keep holding on to that, I must be doing something right to get here right?! • It does not always feel that way though. Sitting in my feelings and allowing them to flourish has given me a different kind of strength. So I just take the baby steps that eventually lead to the big ones without even noticing. Anyways, I say all this to say do not allow your feelings to consume you. Sit in them, process them, voice them and work through them. Whatever you find helpful , but do not ignore them. You will realize later, how helpful it is to let go and let be. • As I go into this new semester, I am open to the possibilities and Obstacle that will arise as I get one day, week, month and semester closer to graduation. Okay so let’s talk basics... Sexology is the scientific study of human sexuality, sexual behaviors, interests and function. • Sexologists are trained professionals who specialize in human sexuality. They study sexual behaviors, feelings, interactions and presented issues with the purpose of improving the individual’s life. • Sex Therapy is a type of psychotherapy that can & usually addresses sexual behaviors, feelings and intimacy among other topics. This can be done individually, as a couple, and/or a family. Sex Therapy can be helpful for people of any age range, gender, or sexual orientation. • Sex Therapist DO NOT have sexual contact with individuals at all. However, Sex Therapy can be helpful when people are having sexual difficulties, issues in intimate relationships, sexual functioning among other things.
