This is a legit question: but why are people upset that Gihun is called stupid when it's canon in the show?

hi, anon. I'm gonna try to answer this the best I can based on my opinion.

while squid game shows gihun as impulsive and irresponsible at times, calling him "stupid" oversimplifies his character.

he’s emotionally driven, kind-hearted, and sometimes reckless because of his struggles with addiction, trauma, and financial instability. none of those things make him stupid or dumb.

gihun actually shows strategic thinking, adaptability, and emotional intelligence throughout the games. he survives by observing, forming alliances, and making key decisions under pressure.

gihun is good with people and he knows how to form bonds which shows he has people skills and social awarness

there are different types of intelligence, not just book smarts but also emotional intelligence, social intelligence, and problem solving skills, all of which gihun has

the issue with calling him "stupid" is that it reduces a complex character to a shallow label.

calling him stupid also shows off great "confirmation bias." it's like people are only choosing to see and notice the parts where he was being "dumb" and not seeing the times where he showed intelligence and strategic skills.

also, calling someone who didn’t get the chance to go to university stupid is just wrong. and thinking this way is really damaging. it makes people who didn’t have access to higher education feel lesser, even when they have valuable skills and knowledge.

this is just my take on it. i don’t represent the thoughts of everyone in the fandom, and they might have their own reasons, but these are mine.

thanks for the response (re: virginity) I asked after seeing you reblog a post that talked about taking someone's virginity, but it only talked about it in terms of female virginity, so I was curious as to your thoughts as to how the concept applied to guys.

I'm a guy that is significantly older than you are, but I've never had sex (beyond one instance of oral). That doesn't really bother me at all (I'm fairly sure that I'll never have sex, unless at some point I decide to hire a "pro" just for shits and giggles and to say that I've done it; though I doubt that will happen either). But I still find it interesting to here what others think about the concept of 'virginity'

For what its worth, I think sometimes when people say "virgin" in the k1nk space what they really mean (between the lines) is someone who is eager, maybe slightly shy, perhaps wants to be taught a little, maybe there's some innocence there too? I think it's more about the associated connotations than the actual concept itself. So really it's a state of mind. Or a thing we conjure up for play. Others would probably disagree though so that's just my take!

I'm really glad to hear that your circumstance doesn't bother you much. As much as its hard to believe on this side of tumblr, there is indeed much more to life and love than sexual intimacy! Whatever path life takes you on I pray that you will feel good about it 🥰

People are allowed to like and dislike characters regardless of what they've done, you know that right? Also I've never defended Dabi in a way that implies I agree with his decisions, which I apply to Endeavor as well. I love both of them actually, as characters. I love to hate Endeavor, he's a piece of shit but I like how he was written. Same with Dabi, he's done horrible shit but I fucking love his character.

Besides, Endeavor finally realizing his mistakes after multiple decades doesn't erase the trauma he caused or how much of an asshole he has been and still is. And someone like Dabi is too far gone to care about anything that isn't on his one-track mind.

It's called literary comprehension, fully understanding the media you're in and recognizing the characters and content you're consuming ✨ I love all kinds of characters while also hating all kinds of characters. Most of the time, I can recognize when they're well written (despite how much they piss me off) and still hate them, as a person.

You don't have to like certain characters, that's your decision. I don't like quite a few characters that people love, because they're not my type of character. But I can recognize why they would.

I don't remember when I started writing, but every memory I have, I have a notebook and a pen with me. I was always writing stories. Now I have a phone that makes it even faster and easier! Love it.

My first fanfiction was a self insert OC and I don't remember if it was a Black Stallion rip off or a Romeo + Juliet rip off. I was 13. I wrote both that year. It was a lot of fun. I was a horse girl who loved Shakespeare. I had an old set of the Black Stallion books that I read so many times they were falling apart. I can't find them anymore and it makes me really sad TBH.

And I had a huge crush on baby Leo. He was too old for me then, and yet somehow I am too old for him now, even though he is still over a decade older than me!

Then in my twenties I was getting divorced and I read Harry Potter for the first time and I went through a huge fandom period there, live journal fanfiction saved me from the deepest depression and toughest time. My OTP was Remus/Sirius aka Wolfstar.

And now ... I write original stuff sometimes, write online content for industrial brands for work, and thought I would never write fan fiction again. But then I saw somebody on Reddit say "God bless the Haladriels, there are some really cute stories on AO3."

That was 5 months ago and I have written over 100,000 words since then?!?! About goddamn Galadriel and Sauron?!?

AU feels a lot easier and more natural and overall fun to write. But I think I take more satisfaction as a writer when I get the phrasing to cooperate and the details to ring true in a canon universe? Also, the stakes feel higher because it's not about two humans it's these power players in a cosmic level story!

If Gihun can forgive Sangwoo why can't he forgive Inho?

Thank you for dropping by and sending this ask. I'm gonna answer this in the context of reality, and not through shipping goggles.

Gi-hun forgave Sang-woo because they had history, he grew up with him, cared about him, and knew parts of Sang-woo that wasn't just shown during moments of desperation. That connection makes forgiveness feel possible, even after everything. Sang-woo made terrible choices, but he was put in a situation where he had no choice but to act that way, just like everyone else. In-ho, on the other hand, enforced everything. He had power, he made the rules, and he upheld the system that destroyed their lives. Gi-hun has no obligation to forgive him because he doesn’t know him beyond the person behind the games. In the end, forgiveness isn’t just about the act, it’s about the person, and Sang-woo was someone Gi-hun loved and KNEW. In-ho was never that person to Gi-hun.

And at the end of the day, sometimes people shouldn’t be forced to forgive those who have hurt them. Even kind people have their own boundaries, and Gi-hun has every right to keep his.

When you write and read stuff do you maybe have like a different preference for the both of them sometimes? Like for example one might like reading romance but can't write or will not write it. 👀 (Ask game)

Ohh definitely. I’m very picky when it comes to writing fanfics, but I can handle more tropes/ characters as a reader.

For instance, in my rules, I said that I don’t write Character/ Reader death, angst w/o comfort, or unrequited love. But if you look at my reblogs, you’ll notice that I’m willing to read fics with those tropes. Depending on the writer or my ideas, I can also make exceptions.

Also, while I can handle nsfw, I can’t write fully-fleshed smut scenes. That is why my Harbinger fics only show a few details + what happens before and after the smut.

The giant looked down and froze. One could hear and feel the deafening silence. He couldn't. There was nothing. Everything tied back to his ability to fight, to destroy. To be a raging beast the howled at the moon.
