new 212th squad!
Boot: as a cadet she tripped while putting on her boots in a hurry and she's never allowed to forget it, dyes her hair ombre and almost always keeps it braided because loose hairs drive her nuts (just like the fact that she needs reading glasses, you ever tried to fit those under a helmet??? at least eyeliner doesn't stick out)
Mik: keeps forgetting to turn her helmet comm off, treating the squad to various squeaks, hums, sighs, comments, and general 'hot mic' chatter (also dyslexic and has problems with spelling, but the squad defends her choices and will gaslight people into thinking that that's always been the right spelling for mic)
Squeaker: squeaks like a mouse when she's nervous and everyone would kill for their sweet baby sister (who is six feet tall) but they're not above saying "she's going womp rat mode" and just turning their comms off to avoid being called to help when she decides to cause problems again
Moxie: bravery crossing into recklessness, a little energizer bunny of dumb jokes and deep loyalty, who inexplicably gets a Scottish accent when she's very tired and becomes even less coherent than usual (not that she's ever been able to manage numbers, dyscalculia ftw)
Onion: named because she's good with food and makes you cry. a clone trainer on Kamino who eventually got shuffled into the field and is eviscerating anyone mean to her sisters because they are all baby to her and you will Watch Out. all her nicknames are food themed and that's how Crumpet got her name (+ bonus short hair version to see her scar and tattoo)
Crumpet: seven-year-old shiny with an impeccable knowledge of explosives and a brain that's been tasered a few too many times because she can't stop poking at live wires and does the ✌️ at every realistic opportunity and a few that aren't realistic at all (and really loves jam, if they see someone eating it out of the jar, nobody even questions who it is)
#212th squad#cs boot#ct mik#ct squeaker#ct moxie#ct onion#ct crumpet#they keep descending on cody to give him makeovers. he can't escape them.

So the vet appointment didn't go as well as we were hoping. Last night, he had a weird episode where he was freaking out, panting, and had an elevated heart rate. It took him hours to calm down. When we went to the vet today, he was concerned about that and how much discharge there was in his ears. There's a possibility that there's a tumor in his sinuses that caused the infection. Last night's episode could be that there's a tumor pressing on his frontal lobe. (1/?)
The episode could just be that he's going stir crazy in the cone and the discharge in his ears could be that he can't clean them. It could still be an abscess, and the doctor isn't giving up hope yet. He recommended against an MRI or CT because it's an expensive way to get an answer that we'll have in a few weeks regardless if he continues to have unusual behavioral episodes. If it's a tumor, there's more much we can do at his age besides keeping him comfortable. (2/3)We're going to keep treating the infection because if nothing else, we're buying him time. He's otherwise okay, but it will take at least another month of antibiotics. So there's nothing else to do but hope for my little baby, which I'm definitely struggling to do right now. :/ I know there will come a day when I won't have him anymore, but he's been in my life for almost 16 years. I just hurt so much right now. (3/3)
[Edited to include all 3 parts] I'm sending my love to you and NABABabycat (and Squeaker) because this is just heartbreaking :( All this uncertainty... He's a good old age but he's still your baby and I so want him to get better. I'm still hopefull!!! Hugs to you ❤❤

Okay but like, the mystic aquarium in CT had one of these in their gift shop.
Except the larger one had this little pocket on the top of it for the smaller one to tuck into.
And they didn’t have white on the bottom??? Just grey with some black detailed sewn in.
And the tiny one has a squeaker in it!!
Drove my dog crazy with that.

Today was a Good Day! We still had HOPE and were hanging ever so tightly to it for our sweet, baby girl! Dr. Bonczynski had a team meeting today and they agreed that Calee’s biopsy and test results were leaning more towards a hematoma and acute hemorrhage other than that nasty "C" word that they expected. We will never know how this rare occurrence happened but we are grateful for the AMAZING team at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital and their attention to Calee and her well being. Calee would need another CT Scan in 2 weeks to determine that their suspicions were true and that the bleeding has healed by then! So for now, we enjoyed the extra snuggles, loved her up and kept a close eye on her! She may or may not have acquired some new toys in the past 10 days and has the best big sister who did not leave her side! 🐶 Today a snake with 7 squeakers appeared thanks to Daddy, so it should be fun for the next few hours while she destroys it! 🐍
Thank you everyone for the prayers and well wishes, they are being heard! Please keep those prayers coming while she heals and hopefully gets good test results in the next two weeks! 💜🙏🐶🤞💜

CRAWFORD: WOLF PACK WEEKLY: January 27-February 2, 2020
BY: Bob Crawford, Hartford Wolf Pack HARTFORD, CT - The Wolf Pack (25-10-4-5, 59 pts.) entered the AHL All-Star break with a pair of home wins this past weekend. The Wolf Pack snapped an 0-2-2-0 slump with a 4-1 victory over Bridgeport on Friday night, and then stretched a home-ice winning streak to ten games with a 4-2 verdict Saturday night vs. Lehigh Valley. Igor Shesterkin stopped 59 of the 62 shots he faced in the two contests, in his return to the AHL, and has won a team season-high six straight decisions. Matt Beleskey scored twice in Friday’s win, and Ryan Gropp notched his first multiple-goal game of the season with two tallies, including the third-period game-winner, Saturday night. For the latest AHL standings, click here. This week: The Wolf Pack come out of the break with three straight games against their closest geographical rivals, the Springfield Thunderbirds. The first of the three meetings is this Friday night at the XL Center, with faceoff at 7:15, and then the two teams finish a home-and-home with a 7:05 start Saturday night in Springfield. Friday, January 31 vs. the Springfield Thunderbirds (Florida) at the XL Center, 7:15 PM This game, like every Friday-night Wolf Pack home game, features $1 hot dogs, and $2 draft beers and fountain sodas, through the start of the second period, presented by Nomads Adventure Quest. A Wolf Pack win in this game would tie the franchise record of 11 straight home wins, set from December 17, 2004, through February 18, 2005. Zeus, from the Harlem Globetrotters, will be making a special appearance at this game. He will be meeting and greeting fans, and signing autographs, in the XL Center atrium from 6:15 to 6:35 PM and interacting with fans throughout the game, while serving as guest co-emcee. The Thunderbirds come into the week seven points behind the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division standings, having won four of their last five games and nine of their last 12. The Wolf Pack have swept the first three games of this year’s season series with the Thunderbirds, including a pair of home wins, a 3-1 decision October 12 and a 1-0 squeaker six nights later. Thunderbird point and goal-scoring leader Owen Tippett is tied for the AHL lead in rookie point-scoring, with 19-21-40 in 46 games. At this game and every Wolf Pack Friday or Saturday home game, fans are encouraged to come early for “Hockey Happy Hour” in the XL Center’s Coliseum Club. From 5:15 PM until puck drop, a $5 wrist band gives fans access to the “Chill Zone” of the Coliseum Club, which features an appetizer buffet and $2 beers, presented by Minuteman Press. Tickets for this game, and all 2019-20 Wolf Pack home games, are on sale now at the Sunwave Gas & Power Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (860) 722-9425. Pack Tracks: Friday, February 14, when the Wolf Pack host the Laval Rocket at 7:15 PM, it’s “Love Is Love Night” at the XL Center, as the Wolf Pack celebrates the love for hockey, pride, and diversity. The first 1,000 youth 12 years old or younger into the game will receive a free Wolf Pack light-up bracelet, presented by Carvel. Also that night, the Wolf Pack will be wearing specialty pride jerseys, which will be auctioned off in the second intermission, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Connecticut Gay and Lesbian Collective, the Hartford Gay Men's Chorus and Metropolitan Community Church of Hartford. Each of the Wolf Pack’s Sunday and Wednesday home games feature the Wolf Pack’s “Click It or Ticket Hat Trick Pack”. The Hat Trick Pack includes two tickets, two sodas, and a large popcorn, all for just $40. The next Hat Trick Pack game is Wednesday, February 5, a 7:00 battle with the Springfield Thunderbirds. Any fan showing a company ID at the Sunwave Gas & Power Ticket office can purchase Blue-Level tickets to Wolf Pack Wednesday home games for only $15 each (limit two tickets per ID). The Wolf Pack’s next Wednesday home date is February 5, when the Springfield Thunderbirds invade the XL Center for a 7:00 game. Once again this season, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs, and $2 draft beers and fountain sodas, at every Friday Wolf Pack home game, through the start of the second period, presented by Nomads Adventure Quest. Andrew Bogut, Cats, and Children: TIGER INTAKE DATE: 01-20-2019 A volunteer writes: "Tiggers are made out of rubber and springs. They are bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy and fun, fun, fun." This is exactly what our Tiger is, a rambunctious, excitable and enthusiastic young man who sees life like a kid in a giant toy store. Tiger is quite gorgeous in his shiny brindley coat, bright eyes and wagging tail, always happy to meet people and a playful participant in our playgroups with his peers. He play bows, hops, runs and entices his friends to play. He is a quick learner too, so ready to please and get a reward for good behavior like wait for a treat or sit on command. There is a lot to like and love about Tiger. He will just need some tune up and an active owner or family to cater to his high energy. Come and meet the King of Tigers at the Manhattan Care Center! MY VIDEOS: Tiger, social and quick learner https://youtu.be/EtMxyykt-cQ Tiger and Daenerys in playgroup https://youtu.be/IGIIxbH2YXE Tiger and Beadi in playgroup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JtDKEyyUfs TIGER, ID# 53094, 2 yrs old, 63.6 lbs, Manhattan Animal Care Center, Large Mixed Breed Cross, Brown Brindle / White Male, Found Stray Shelter Assessment Rating: LEVEL 3 No children (under 13) Medical Behavior Rating: Yellow BEHAVIOR NOTES Means of surrender (length of time in previous home): Stray Behavior toward strangers: Hyper and jumpy Other Notes: Rope reactive SHELTER ASSESSMENT- Date of assessment: 22-Jan-2019 Summary: Leash Walking Strength and pulling: Hard pulling Reactivity to humans: None Reactivity to dogs: None Leash walking comments: Rope reactive in care center, but ceased once outside Sociability Loose in room (15-20 seconds): Could not have loose in room- due to his jumping onto everything. Call over; Sociability comments: Handling Soft handling: Accepts contact Exuberant handling: Did not do due to arousal levels Handling comments: Every time handler sits, he immediately starts jumping and mouthing with a high level of arousal. Had to use squeaker sound to distract him. Arousal Jog: Overaroused, mouths and escalates Arousal comments: Knock : Approaches exuberantly Knock Comments: Toy: Sniffed, but did not engage Toy comments: PLAYGROUP NOTES – DOG TO DOG SUMMARIES: 1/22: When introduced off leash to dogs, Tiger is anxious and distracted by the environment. He at times approaches to mount the female helper dog. 1/23: Tiger engages in some play with female dogs, wandering the pen when play is overwhelming. 1/25: Tiger engages in soft bouncy play with female dogs. 1/26: Tiger continues to engage in soft and bouncy play with male and female dogs. INTAKE BEHAVIOR - Date of intake: 20-Jan-2019 Summary: Active, jumpy, grabbing leash in mouth MEDICAL BEHAVIOR - Date of initial: 20-Jan-2019 Summary: Allowed handling ENERGY LEVEL: Since Tiger is a stray, we do not know what his energy level will be in a home environment. In the care center, Tiger has shown a very high level of energy. He may have a low threshold for arousal and needs guidance to learn how to appropriately channel that energy when he becomes overstimulated. He will need daily mental and physical stimulation and exercise, and force-free, positive reinforcement-based training may help him to learn impulse control and to train desirable behaviors that can be rewarded. He will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. We recommend feeding with puzzle feeders and food-dispensing toys. And we recommend only force-free, reward-based training techniques for Static. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Level 3 Behavior Asilomar TM - Treatable-Manageable Recommendations: No children (under 13) Recommendations comments: Due to the high level of jumping and mouthing seen at the care center, we recommend an adult-only home. Potential challenges: Basic manners/poor impulse control Social hyperarousal Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition Leash-biting Strength/leash pulling Potential challenges comments: Tiger has shown an extremely high level of arousal in the care center. Please see the social-hyperarousal handout on how best to manage this behavior. Tiger also shows some mouthiness when he is arousal. Please see the mouthiness handout on how to best manage this behavior. Tiger has been showing some leash biting in the care center. Please see the leash-biting handout on how best to manage this behavior. Since Tiger is a very strong puller, we recommend reading the handout on leash pulling to help manage this behavior. PLEASE NOTE: You MUST live in NY, NJ, PA, CT, RI, DE, MD, MA, NH, VT, ME or Northern VA. You will need to fill out applications with a New Hope Rescue Partner to foster or adopt a NYC ACC dog. Transport is available if you live within the prescribed range of states. Shelter contact information: Phone number (212) 788-4000 Email [email protected] Shelter Addresses: Brooklyn Shelter: 2336 Linden Boulevard Brooklyn, NY 11208 Manhattan Shelter: 326 East 110 St. New York, NY 10029 Staten Island Shelter: 3139 Veterans Road West Staten Island, NY 10309 *** NEW NYC ACC RATING SYSTEM *** Level 1 Dogs with Level 1 determinations are suitable for the majority of homes. These dogs are not displaying concerning behaviors in shelter, and the owner surrender profile (where available) is positive. Some dogs with Level 1 determinations may still have potential challenges, but these are challenges that the behavior team believe can be handled by the majority of adopters. The potential challenges could include no young children, prefers to be the only dog, no dog parks, no cats, kennel presence, basic manners, low level fear and mild anxiety. Level 2 Dogs with Level 2 determinations will be suitable for adopters with some previous dog experience. They will have displayed behavior in the shelter (or have owner reported behavior) that requires some training, or is simply not suitable for an adopter with minimal experience. Dogs with a Level 2 determination may have multiple potential challenges and these may be presenting at differing levels of intensity, so careful consideration of the behavior notes will be required for counselling. Potential challenges at Level 2 include no young children, single pet home, resource guarding, on-leash reactivity, mouthiness, fear with potential for escalation, impulse control/arousal, anxiety and separation anxiety. Level 3 Dogs with Level 3 determinations will need to go to homes with experienced adopters, and the ACC strongly suggest that the adopter have prior experience with the challenges described and/or an understanding of the challenge and how to manage it safely in a home environment. In many cases, a trainer will be needed to manage and work on the behaviors safely in a home environment. It is likely that every dog with a Level 3 determination will have a behavior modification or training plan available to them from the behavior department that will go home with the adopters and be made available to the New Hope Partners for their fosters and adopters. Some of the challenges seen at Level 3 are also seen at Level 1 and Level 2, but when seen alongside a Level 3 determination can be assumed to be more severe. The potential challenges for Level 3 determinations include adult only home (no children under the age of 13), single pet home, resource guarding, on-leash reactivity with potential for redirection, mouthiness with pressure, potential escalation to threatening behavior, impulse control, arousal, anxiety, separation anxiety, bite history (human), bite history (dog) and bite history (other). New Hope Rescue Only Dog is not publicly adoptable. Prospective fosters or adopters need to fill out applications with New Hope Partner Rescues to save this dog.

So I guess it's as good a time as any to have a pinned post?
Hi, I'm Sticks! I use vae/vaer/vaers/vaerself and it/its pronouns. This is a multifandom blog with a dash of many other random things. I'm a proshipper, cloneshipper, multishipper, and polyshipper.
I'll tag things to the best of my ability if you ask. Sometimes I'll forget. I love being tagged in ask games, WIP games, last line challenges, literally whatever. Mutuals can DM for my discord.
You can check out my fics on AO3 at lizardwrites (Star Wars) or purpleturtle9000 (Rise/Bayverse TMNT). Or check the tag for sticks' fics to see drabbles and previews. My askbox is open for requests for more drabbles, headcanons, and general rambling.
Consider this a blanket permission for any and all transformative works of my writing. You may post translated versions of my fics on other sites but you may not repost the original work. And please show me what you've made!
I have a lot of OCs and I love talking about them. I also want to hear all about yours! In the meantime, there's a list of mine below the cut. tumblr wouldn't let me link all of them, but you can try copy-pasting the-starry-seas.tumblr.com/tagged/ and put in the character name (I tag with ranks, so put in CT Racer instead of just Racer).

Andrew Bogut, Apparently, and Click: VOLUNTEER FAVORITE AVERAGE RATED! GREAT W/OTHER DOGS! A SWEET, WI6GLY, SOCIAL, EASY, & AFFECTIONATE BOY AMAZING & VERY SPECIAL! ID 20737 @ 2 Years 54 lbs. of Joy Manhattan Acc AVERAGE TO BE KILLED – 2/20/2018 <3 A REGULAR JOE? WELL, YES AND NO! CANNOLI MAY LOOK LIKE “THE KID NEXT DOOR” BUT HE IS A TREASURE WITH SO MANY GIFTS TO SHARE. LOVES KIDS, DOGS, EVERYONE! HE’S ONE SWEET TREAT! This poor kid was dumped on Valentine’s Day of all things. Please share him far and wide for a home. He’s the BEST! A volunteer writes: Wearing the most perfect ginger-brindle eye patch, a spotless white coat and a winning smile, Cannoli looks like a playful pirate out to steal your heart...and he is! I fell for his gorgeous face from the get-go, but he's sweet on the inside too, eager to socialize and easy to handle, friendly toward fellow dogs and very smart and responsive when he wants to be. Squeaky toys and sniffing stuff are Cannoli's two favorite hobbies, and he devotes himself to them with a passion, exploring the neighborhood with his nose to the ground or focusing like a laser on the sound of his toy. He sits politely for treats, too, though mine are apparently not to his taste! A good leash walker who doesn't pull, he makes plenty of pit stops for sniffing and potty time along the way, and off leash he's soft, smooshable and always ready to play. Cannoli is just as delicious as his namesake, and with his excellent behavior evaluation he'd fit into any active home with ease. Ask to meet this handsome hunk at our Manhattan Care Center and get ready to fall in love! Cannoli – Loved by all the volunteers! https://youtu.be/AABkxYwHWlg He loves Squeaker Toys! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kl9kmbmCQI CANNOLI, ID # 20737 @ 2 Years Old, 54 lbs. Manhattan Acc, Large Mixed Breed, White / Brown, Unaltered Male I came to the shelter as: Stray Shelter Assessment Rating: AVERAGE RATED! Intake Behavior Rating: 2. Blue AT RISK MEMO: Cannoli is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex, which is contagious to other dogs. Behaviorally, we have no concerns for Cannoli, whom we believe would be suitable for most homes. INTAKE NOTE – DATE OF INTAKE, 2/14/2018: The dog was friendly, allowing all handling. He was whining until we took him from the police SHELTER ASSESSMENT - Date of assessment: 2/15/2018 Look:: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends (may need coaxing to approach). Dog is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Paw squeeze 1:: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw. Paw squeeze 2:: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw. Flank squeeze 1:: Item not conducted Flank squeeze 2:: Item not conducted Toy:: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog may smell or lick, then turns away. Summary:: In the assessment room, Cannoli was very focused on sniffing around the room. He approached the assessor when coaxed, but was mostly aloof, focusing on sniffing thing. He had a soft body throughout the assessment, allowed all handling, and displayed no concerning behaviors. PLAYGROUP NOTES – DOG TO DOG SUMMARY: Cannoli has displayed minimal interest in greeting female dogs in the care center, though has begun to display some interest in play. Future introductions should be conducted at a slow pace to respectful female dogs. Behavior around male dogs is unknown at this time. Summary (1):: 2/15: When introduced off leash to dogs, Cannoli is initially slightly tense when approached. Once given time to sniff, he softens slightly then wanders off. Summary (2):: 2/16: Cannoli is slightly tense when approaching the female dog, then softens when greeting. When the female runs away from him he becomes slightly stiff again, following, but softens when he reaches her. This repeats until he is removed from the pen. Summary (3):: 2/17: Cannoli is slightly tense on approach again then softens with greeting and offers a tail wag. When solicited with play he appears conflicted and will chase when the female dog runs. ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Cannoli so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: AVERAGE (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience) Behavior Asilomar: H – Healthy MEDICAL NOTES: Date of initial: 2/14/2018, Summary:: Cannoli was tense but allowed all handling.
