okay so I realised that Kit didn't just spawn out of thin air, Minecraft style, so... he has a squad, now

Lucky, CT-7773, is horrendously afraid of droids 😔 Kit said they should call him Lucky due to this fear, because droids couldn't kill a guy named Lucky, that just wouldn't be fair. (It didn't help quite as much as Kit thought it would, but Lucky knew that Kit was trying and is very fond of him for it.) He was supposed to be decommissioned because of his autoimmune issues, but ended up being added to the support staff on Kamino. It's hard on him, physically, but he much prefers that over having to be a soldier and deal with droids. In addition to rheumatoid arthritis and hearing loss, he's semi-verbal and has social anxiety and rejection sensitivity. He got the scar on his face on his very first day of training against droids because he froze up and it stabbed him. Secretly, he wants to be a novelist, but he's never tried to write anything because he's convinced he wouldn't be any good at it, so he shouldn't even try. He fidgets with things when he's nervous and has a tangle toy that helps soothe him sometimes.

Shrike, CT-9382 is a medic, and a pretty good one. He's also very open about what his name means, and people tend to be a little unnerved about that. People also tend to mistake him for being callous because he doesn't beat himself up when he can't save a brother - they were made to be killed, so why freak out when one dies a little earlier than the rest? He does care, and he'll put himself in harm's way to save a brother he thinks actually has a shot at living, but he prefers to save expressions of care for when they'll actually do some good. He's an excellent shot with a sniper rifle and sometimes deployed to get a few shots off before the battle turns serious enough for a medic to be needed. He likes video games and enables a billion cheats and mods to be able to do whatever he wants. He's also an unexpectedly good fighter with a sword, not that that's generally a useful skill. He got his ears pierced at the same time as Carno but decided to keep his hair short for easy maintenance instead of going through the trouble of growing it out. He gets jaig eyes for cold-cocking a BX droid to protect an injured brother, and also breaks two fingers doing it.

Carno, CT-5042, is here for the thrill of the kill. He's highly armed, highly dangerous, and enjoying every minute of it. His preferred type of combat is sneaking around a battlefield to quietly take out most of his enemies before mauling the rest in a brute force assault. He was hand-picked for ARC training before he finished the basic courses but was reluctant to leave his batchmates out of concern that Lucky would be decommissioned. He was the first to leave their squad to be deployed elsewhere, with a squad of other ARCs. Loyal to his new squad, of course, but if his batchmates needed him, whether Lucky was in danger or not, he'd be back on Kamino before anyone realised he was gone. He promised that to them before he left, and he meant it. Being the star of his squad by far, he's a bit cocky, and is under the impression that nothing can pose a threat to him - and also that he doesn't have anything else to learn from the older clones in his squad because he's won every one of the many fights he's started. Outside of combat, he has a confident, casual, laid-back Han Solo sort of attitude that makes him a rather polarising figure. People either admire him, or really want to knock his block off. He's half an inch shorter than the others and braids his hair when wearing his helmet. His scar is from the only time an enemy got the drop on him. Medics were with him immediately, but he insisted on keeping it instead of letting them completely heal the injury.

he has some real dumb nicknames for his squad: Kitty-Kat for Kit, Birdbrain for Shrike, and Strike for Lucky (yes this does make Shrike and Lucky confuse each other, he thinks it's funny)

his brothers consistently go to him first when people annoy them because he Will Handle It

moderate hearing loss - since Lucky had this also, and they always accommodated him, Carno's unaware of his own hearing problems for quite a while

his fear biting drops considerably after they steal hearing aids for him but he still does a considerable amount of biting for fun and to teach a lesson

he only hard-bites his brothers when they startle him but he is very consistently mouthing them gently 'cause it's enrichment for him

he announces his presence by walking up behind them and biting the top of their shoulder and it has gotten him punched or elbowed several times but he hasn't learned shit from that

intentionally antagonises people so they're not nice to him. he doesn't know what to do when people are nice to him. but he can always punch them! or bite. biting is fun.

kinky little fucker. mostly the sadist in sadomasochism but also he thinks it's hot when his girlfriend is bitey and stabby. not the one that people expect to be a responsible dom! but he does take that seriously

his girlfriend is a yautja. 7'6" alien woman built like a brick wall with more weapons than is safe or sane. she files her nails into points to slash people open. her name's Ripper, 'cause of, y'know. the ripping.

they have a wonderful time being unhinged and rather violent together but they kinda freak everyone else out (Carno says this is a skill issue, which his squad disagrees on)

he watches a lot of thrillers and horror movies that hinge on emotional manipulation because how else is he going to learn how to fuck with people

nobody ever thinks Mr Bitey is the one who can psychologically bend people to his will and he enjoys slipping under the radar, and hey, he can always punch people if the mindfuckery doesn't work

he's every dumbass who's called IT because they don't know why a screensaver made google disappear. boy can't do shit with electronics.

got a great tactical mind but he intentionally goes into dangerous situations with no more planning than "I wanna maul". he likes the danger, it's enrichment for him when his life is on the line

they still sleep in a cuddle pile though because he knows that's where they're safest

the shiny squad is so special to me despite my latest WIP so here's a happy bit of them goofing around

“Maybe we’ll finally find someone that Carno can bite,” Shrike teases, and snorts when Carno socks him in the shoulder.  “Nobody is taking off their bucket if we find ourselves in a combat situation,” Fox says sternly.  “Please, dad?” Kit asks, clasping his hands under his chin.  Fox pauses for several long seconds.  “No,” he repeats eventually, though he doesn’t sound quite as stern as before.  Carno grins and ruffles up Kit’s hair, his smile widening when Kit squawks and tries to bat his hands away, fussing about his curls getting tangled.  “I think if you do that again, Kitty-cat, we might actually have some fun on this mission.”  “I have a one-syllable name, Carno.”  “Says who? Just ‘cause you’re two minutes older doesn’t mean you’re smarter, that’s Shrike’s job.”  “He’s right,” Shrike says, not looking up from his datapad.

Which OC would you ever consider to be your 'favourite'? Oh that's my guy Rowan! I made him in 2015 so he's also my oldest OC. He's a bisexual nonbinary polyamorous Catalan paleontologist, born and raised in rural California as a second-generation immigrant, who's also a dinosaur shapeshifter (Utahraptor edition). He's gotten so much depth since I first played him but he's still mouthy, chaotic, and got the baddassery and skills to back up the boasting. Fun dude.

Which OC would you consider to have a 'gremlin mode'? Oh Nox for sure. They said that they wanted their name to be obnoxious and their captain said I think the closest we can manage is Nox, which they accepted because they thought it sounded cool. Their birthday is April 1st because it's April Fool's Day and they are in fact a fool. Plus they're unaware of a few minor social concepts like 1) an inside voice 2) personal space 3) gender. They have a neon pink sidecut. You know how it is.

Which pair of OCs would you put into a box together and watch to see what happens? Hmmm I'm gonna say Kestrel and Goldshot. Kestrel is my ROTTMNT guy, it was one of the two secret siblings that the fanbase was theorising about, and I call it Teenage Mutant Winter Soldier because, well, that sums it up pretty well. Goldshot is an Autobot OC from a Jurassic Park fusion-AU-thing with a red and beige JP jeep as an alt form. When the hurricane happened, she went to the nursery to see if the babies were all right, and a nest of raptor newborns and a month-old dilo imprinted on her and became part of the Autobot squad. I just think they could be interesting and she would befriend it and not be phased by its biting.

Which OCs would fight each other for the last piece of cake and which OC would steal said cake while the others are fighting? Fury and Racer fight over dumb shit all the time (lovingly in the way that two chaotic siblings do). Whisper is absolutely the one who steals the cake while they're up to their shit. Sometimes it's because xe didn't realise what they were fighting for. Sometimes xe decides that you snooze you lose.

Which one would be least likely to sacrifice themselves for another? This is actually a 'thing' with Nihaan. He's the squad's leader so he's typically the only guy that a natborn talks to, because they generally don't care to talk with the rest of the squad. In an emergency, he's under strict orders to not sacrifice himself for anyone. They're meant to die for him instead. One of Nihaan's biggest roles, when things go FUBAR, is to keep the natborn calm and close so they can be most effectively protected. He can't do that if he's dead. It's something that eats at him. He loves them as much as they love him, but he'll never be able to make the ultimate sacrifice for them, like they can do for him.

Which OC would you consider to be a 'bad guy'? Hmmm this is one that really made me think tbh! I don't have a lot of OCs that are like, 'bad guys'. Villainous characters generally don't interest me unless I can see a lot of nuance and layers in there (like an onion or perhaps a parfait). Carno and Shrike could both qualify, perhaps. Carno is a violent freak (love him but holy shit). Shrike is a medic who bluntly tells dying clones that they're fucked and walks away from them to see if there's clones he can save.
