Fic rec for your bkdkbk post-canon woes
Now that MHA is over I've been satisfying my bkdkbk needs with fics like one does, so I made this fic rec of the best fanfics I've read over the past few months. Unintentionally most of them are rated E, idk why, if you want more fics, feel free to check my ao3 bookmarks, I have over 1000 bkdk fics bookmarked
DISCLAIMER: Please check the tags and warnings thoroughly before reading any of the fics here
Multichapter:
You Gave Me Purpose, Kacchan by wowschreave | Rated T | Post-canon
The first in what I call the "Post-canon holy trinity" I've already talked about this one so much but I'll do it again because this is THE post-canon fic, plus it has amazing, beautiful, wonder-who-made-this-masterpiece ART lol
promises kept by gabstar | Rated E | Post-canon | BKDK
The second instalment of the Post-canon trinity, starring co-depended BKDK which is one of my favorite flavors
Count to Infinity by socksasgloves | Rated T | Post-canon | BKDK
The completion of the holy trinity with more Post-canon goodness because it's what I crave on a cold night
The night we decided to be brave by Albipepo | Rated E | BKDKBK | Accidental parents
I love this one so much, I hated both of them for being stupid half of the time but it's so so worth it
i'm not myself when i'm without you by YunaTuna | Rated M (but I would rate it E) | Possesive BKDK
This one is so interesting and dark, I'm obsessed with possessive Deku and this hits all the right marks and more
And the world went still by Saiyasha | Rated E | BKDK | (temporary) Mayor Character Death | Established relationship
GUT-WRENCHING, this one hits so hard, I nearly died, but it thankfully has a happy ending
Kacchan vs the Internet by palavering | Rated T | Soc Med
This one is not complete but read it read it please it's so good, and the social media aspect is so peak, like I can rave for hours on how well the author uses CSS
Baby Bottles and Blushing Faces by derDschungelderRosen | Rated T
Baby Project is a classic but I adore this take on the idea so much, plus it's hilarious
keep the rain by gheemin | Rated T | Post-canon
I adore how introspective this one is, it also overwhelmed me with feels
Fake it, 'till you make it. by Princess_ofPizza | Rated M| Charades
Drinking games are always bad ideas, unless you're bkdk in which case carry on
Inhibitionless by Sonday | Rated E | Quirk shenanigans
Horny quirks are the best
You Had Me From the Start by bellbloom | Rated E| BKDK| Artist x Bartender AU
As an artist myself Artist!Izuku scratches an itch I didn't know I had
A Starving Artist's Success by StevieBanks | Rated M | BKDK | Artist x Fashion designer AU
Which is why I have two fics with artist Deku, also kind of a meet-cute
Unraveled by omicroncet | Rated M | BKDK |
Three words; sleep deprived Izuku
One-shots:
love in the making by Kacchdeku | Rated G | Post-Canon | BKDK
Third-wheel Kota is the best
Sturdy Heart by lurethegalaxy | Rated T | Post-canon| Established Relationship
Angsty but so so so good
pacemaker by passengerside | Rated T | Post-war | Canon-compliant
The pacemaker scene has me dead, ascending, AND there's art?!!
The Eight Years Between by Loriqod | Rated T | Post-canon | Established relationship
I love when fics fill in the gaps of the canon content
Embers by UglyGreenJacket | Rated T | Post-canon | angst with a happy ending | Established relationship
My poor baby Izuku needs a hug, thankfully Katsuki is there to give it to him
king of hearts by nikkiRA | Rated E | Quirk shenanigans
This quirk is so creative and cute and I love that it also includes their other classmates reactions
crepe date by isidium | Rated T | Fluff
'Cause we all think about that one crepe comment Izuku made one (1) time and so does Katsuki
chasing the rabbit by mimiwrites | Rated T | Amnesia
Even more Quirk shenanigans because those are always so fun
love is a labour (i'll slave til the end) by nikkiRA| Rated E| Omegaverse| DKBK
I love LOVE Omega! Katsuki and you can take him from my cold dead hands
Talk After Talk by beanbeanrose | Rated T | Post-war
This is just them talking but i love it so much
GG by MajestyTime | Rated T | Crack treated seriously
This one is all over the place but in a good way, it played off as a laugh but it has a very interesting what-if scenario
If I'm Being Honest by Queen_of_the_Otakus | Rated M | Truth serum (kinda)
Forced truth situations are so funny because it's never that deep but everyone still freaks out
Thanks for reading!!! Hope you guys like the fics I chose

the tl;dr
IRON CROWN as a free comic is now off of wordpress and can be viewed by a neat, robust HTML/CSS/JS comic template called rarebit! effectively nothing has changed for the reader, beyond expecting a little more reliability of uptime over the years.
all comic pages and previously paywalled patreon posts can also be downloaded in this art dump for free, as mentioned in the new author's notes.
the long story:
When talking shop about site/platform moves under this handle, I think it's useful to realize that us (taboo) kink artists live in an actively adversarial internet now, compared to five years ago.
meaning that we have to live with an expectation that 99% of platforms (including registrars and hosting, let alone sns sites) will ban/kick us without warning. this might explain the overly cautious/defensive way we discuss technologies - weighing how likely (and easily) the tool can be used against us vs the perks.
for example: has a harassment mob bullied the platform owners into quietly dropping lolisho artists? trans artists? does the platform/technology have a clear, no-bullshit policy on drawn kink art (specifically third rail kinks like noncon)? does the platform have a long history of hosting r18 doujin artists/hentai publishers with no issue? does the company operate in a nation unfriendly to specific kinks (eg fashkink artists fundamentally incompatible with companies based in germany, when other kinks might be OK?). i talk with a few different groups of artists daily about the above.
but that gets tiring after a while! frankly, the only path that's becoming optimal long-term is (a) putting kink art on your personal site, and if possible, (b) self hosting the whole thing entirely, while (c) complementing your site with physical merch since it's much harder to destroy in one go.
with that said - I've been slowly re-designing all of my pages/sub-domains as compact 'bug out bags'. lean, efficiently packed with the essentials, and very easy to save and re-upload to a new host/registrar near instantly (and eventually, be friendly to self-hosting bandwidth costs since that's now a distant goal).
how does this look in theory, you ask?
zero dependencies. the whole IRON CROWN comic subdomain is three JS files, a few HTML files, one CSS file, and images. that's it.
no updates that can be trojan horse'd. I'm not even talking about malware though that's included; I'm talking about wordpress (owned by the same owners as tumblr cough) slipping in AI opt-outs in a plug-in that's turned on by default. I used to think wordpress was safe from these shenanigans because wordpress-as-a-CMS could be separate from wordpress-as-a-domain; I was wrong. they'll get you through updates.
robust reliability through the KISS principle. keep it simple stupid. malware/DDOS'ing has an infinitively harder time affecting something that doesn't have a login page/interactive forms. You can't be affected by an open source platform suddenly folding, because your "starter" template is contained files saved on your desktop (and hopefully multiple backups...). etc.
so how does this look in practice?
To be fair, you're often trading convenient new shiny UI/tools for a clunkier back-end experience. but i think it's a mistake to think your art site has to look like a MIT professor's page from 1999.
with IRON CROWN, I've effectively replicated it from a (quite good) comic template in wordpress to 98% of the same layout in pure HTML/CSS/JS via rarebit. Should rarebit's website go "poof", I've got the initial zip download of the template to re-use for other sites.
I frankly have a hard time recommending rarebit for an actively updating webcomic since you personally might be trading too many advantages like SEO tools, RSS feeds, etc away - but for a finished webcomic that you want to put in "cold storage" - it's amazing. and exactly what I needed here.

https://archiveofourown.org/works/61943443/chapters/158395027
I wrote a longfic! And just posted ch 1!
This is fully written so I'll be posting a chapter every couple days - just need to do a lot of html editing.
The short version: Izuku needs a place to stay for a few weeks. Katsuki happens to have an empty guest room. Friends to lovers and other domestic shenanigans ensue.
(AO3 summary and all details about ratings, tags, etc. are below, feel free to skip to that, I have a lot of yapping to yap)
This story takes place 3-ish years after Izuku gets the suit. It assumes that the 431 epilogue happened.
The timeframe of the fic is not that long (I mean, it's right there in the title) but this is written as a slow burn of sorts. It covers the whole story, from them realising "oh, I like you" all the way to... well, I'm not going to tell you exactly how it ends yet, but it's definitely a happy ending.
This story is about falling in love, but it's also about friendships, about asking for help, and about letting those around you support you. It features appearances by most of the UA students we meet in canon, Inko, the Bakugous, All Might... you name it. i had a lot of fun exploring their different voices and POVs.
Also cats. There's cats in it. And a lot of coffee cups.
The fic is on the fluffier side, but has it's angsty moments. (I swear, you leave Bakugou alone with his thoughts for 5 minutes and that yumy yummy angst just writes itself). there's some humour in there too, because why not.
It's primarily a bkdk/izukat/whatever you call that ship story, and most of the fic is from their POV/focused on Izuku and Katsuki.
That said, I had a lot of fun making space for some of the less-developed canon characters (e.g. Sato) to have their own dialogue and moments... and some of the more fleshed out characters outside of our main pair too.
Speaking of which, that's the name of the first chapter: Making Space
The fic includes snippets of texting between the UA students too, especially in this first chapter. I surprised myself by really enjoying writing that. It also made me learn a lot of css. Check it out! It turned out quite pretty I think.
Ok, now the specifics:
Rating: T
Chapters: 17 + epilogue (1 posted)

I have plugged in so now I can actually show you right where it is, at least on mobile but it's not much different on desktop:
The last button labeled Download is what you'll want to click/tap...
And that'll pop out an entire little list of formats you can choose from. I haven't looked at all of them but I can vouch for the epub working just fine!
ETA also no don't pay each of me $5, you'll owe me $17.50 and for what? The worst formatted epub ever. Totally not worth it!
I had the distinct feeling that SOMETHING had gone off the rails with the plot so I re-read the entire thing and
it was longer than I thought;
it flowed a lot better than I remembered;
I skipped writing a lot more sections that I didn't feel like dealing with at the time than I recalled, so I have to go back and do all of that at some point;
I think I hit the actual climax like a pothole going 85 mph and just kept going without even realizing I'd plowed right past it and that was the problem and the reason everything past that point felt extraneous and silly and like I was just prolonging things for no reason.
That's a new problem! I've never had that problem before. (I also haven't actually written that much, so there are a lot of problems I haven't had before, but it's still not one I expected.) I just got so excited I forgot to stop having things happen. Real easy solution, too, I just need to go back and actually write that scene like it's the scene that it is, and not like it's a stepping stone to...whatever the hell I thought was happening next. I don't think anything much needs to happen after that, except for things wrapping up one way or another.
Note that this doesn't mean I'm done, just that I'm getting close to writing the ending. That's two different things. And then there's still editing, which I am NOT doing in two sixteen-hour sittings this time, because oh my gods, fuck doing that twice. Worth it the once, but never again.
Anyway, my guess is that it's going to top out at about the same length as Failure To Compile. Mayyybe longer? But not by a ton. Then again, that makes it another 160-170k neighborhood doorstop novel, so...yeah. That's a lot of words. Again.
why am I like this
#there's math behind that number and I'm not explaining it lmao#yes I know what you meant but I'm going with what I read which is much funnier#oh no a bird just started singing and I'm not sleepy yet. sigh#I need to see how the epub format works with css shenanigans bc I was thinking about formatting the sequel various ways#but I don't want to make it inaccessible so I've got to really do my homework on that front first

hi! i love reading your fics but i specifically love the social media shenanigans in dearly beloathed. i was wondering how you would feel if i took some inspiration from that for a fic of mine because i would love to write something that's very similarly formatted but i wanted to make sure you were fine with that (cause i'm assuming it took some time and effort to come up with) before i did. anyways your writing is awesome and i love reading it
Yes sure of course! I took inspiration from ao3 fics (F1 fandom in particular is stunning at formatting, I have so much respect for their dedication), such as this one (I basically took the formatting from this) and this Twitch streamer AU. If you're posting on ao3, there's the option of playing with HTML/CSS for a more "realistic" socmed interface, for example this one for Twitter which is magic to me. This one is an extremely impressive Discord mockup. An Unauthorised Fandom Treatise is a nice look into mid 2010s Superwholock era fandom whereas F1 rpf and indeed mcyt / streamer stuff is more "modern". Anyways yeah there's a lot of potential in this genre of fics and loads of stuff to check out on ao3 if you wish :) I love scrolling through the Unconventional Format tag because people are just so creative. Good luck with your writing!
#im serious about the f1 thing. go into the f1 tag and search for social media or unconventional format and boom#theres also more simple css with different coloured text which can mimic socmed better than black and white#still the basic italics bold underlines is usually enough to sculpt the look of socmed#text symbols and emojis are also fun. the document is your sandbox yipppee#ao3 has a faq section about their built in html which is very helpful. lots of css tutorials on ao3 too#sorry if this is a lot i get excited about formatting <3#ask box#answered#writing#dearly beloathed#hrm posting on stuff like neocities gives even more customisation... but yeah it takes effort and time#theres also sth i like about simple mockups with no css and minimal html (it's easy to copy and paste / edit)

cohost is beginning it's process of shutting down today and I'm genuinely sad over it.
Regretfully I barely used it anymore for months until coming back to it very recently. (Funnily enough the first post I see on returning was the announcement of its end) It was the most fun and freeing social media experience I've ever had quite frankly. Who could have thought (/s) that hidden like-, repost-, and follower counts feel so good on a platform and promotes discovering new people so much. Not to begin on the absolutely bonkers creativity in posts thanks to allowing CSS shenanigans. (People with amazing coding skills did incredible things but just as an example, I'm proud of my profile banner image that I setup to correctly change colour and resize along with the website UI when changing the width of your browser window)
From tonight until the end of December when the plugs are pulled cohost will be in read-only mode. Here's some of my favourite posts as I go back through my profile:

I made a blog!!!
Check out my bloooooooog
(Sorry, there's not much there right now...)
I realized that while I was on cohost, the format and the posting culture (css nerd stuff) kind of encouraged me to put more time and effort into making posts in a way that I hadn't in a long time. I hadn't realized how much I missed having control over the minutiae of content I posted. So even though I resolved to crosspost some of the stuff I liked to tumblr, it's missing some of the personality that I put into it, I think, and having a blog where I can do some of those shenanigans if I want to will be fun.
Also, for your viewing pleasure, you may subscribe to the RSS feeds (there's one for each category in addition to the aggregate feed, so if you only want to hear about art or only games, you can do that as well).
Also also, if you own your own webspace, and are thinking about adding a blog, I wrote a little bit about the plugin i used under the cut. ↓↓↓
I was sifting through the blogging plugins available through my hosting service and settled on HTMLy, firstly because it's pretty lightweight--it only takes up 8mb of server space which is crazy small (compare to Wordpress' 68mb). It has a tag system, categories, and a built in search (not just a google search that crawls through your blog), and aside from how long it took me to hack the themes apart into something resembling the rest of my site, it was really easy to setup. I really like it.
I only added it to my blog, but I'm honestly kind of considering rebuilding the rest of my site using HTMLy as well.
Similar to cohost, you can use markdown and html in your posts. There's a built-in image uploader so you don't have to deal with any image hosting shenanigans. I added a bunch of special elements to my blog's css that i'd defined in the style sheet for my regular website (and even some common ones I used in my chosts), so I can insert them for a cohesive feel.
It also supports multiple users--with its own login page separate from your cpanel or however you usually access your site--which is a feature I'll never use, but I think it's really neat. :)
Aaaanyways, I need to overhaul the rest of my site since I haven't updated it meaningfully in uh... six years... but hopefully, I'll get around to making it more of a reflection of my current interests... this year... maybe....
Also, maaaaaaaan, i really wanna get back into doing little code doodles in Processing. I used to have a lot of fun with them. Maybe I'll port some of my old ones to the latest version so I can put them on the web...

What are the relationships between your ocs and the cannon characters of css
Thanks for the question! These were fun to think about! (I actually wrote the full answer once before, but the my internet fucked up and I lost the entire thing 🙃)
Mara kept mostly to herself in the beginning. She got along fine with most of the students, although some were intimidated by her. She wasn't really close to anyone, before Thatch that is. They didn't get along at all when they first met. Mara was annoyed by pretty much anything he did, and Thatch was baffled and furious about Mara being at Scare School in the first place. Mara also wasn't intimidated by Thatch, which drove him near insane. Over time, bit by bit, they got closer. They are currently good friends, but only the two of them know it Thatch's pride couldn't handle the others knowing he's friends with with a human pfft
Mara also uses her powers to help Casper and his friends whenever there some kind of a disaster happening at school which is almost everyday so
The faculty is mixed on her. They do appreciate her grim attitude and fondness for creepy things, but Mara is also an independent thinker, so she often questions the things they are being taught (this annoys Professor Burns especially)
Mara also is not a huge fan of Alder and Dash, never really trusting anything they say. The two of them also find her.. somewhat creepy, and not in a good way.
Briar is kind and sociable, which rubs most of the students the wrong way, but not all. She mostly spends her time with Casper, Mantha and Ra, although she gets along with everyone! (If you ask her at least) Briar can sympathize with Casper's unwillingness to be mean and scary, Ra and her get up to stupid shenanigans sometimes and Briar is Mantha's only girl friend, so she talks to Briar about things her other friends won't fully understand (girlhood solidarity✊ )
Thatch tried and succeeded in hurting Briar's feelings that one time, but hasn't done it since finding out she turns into a towering beast, when she gets upset enough. Wolfie talks to her sometimes to ask if she has the same experiences with her beast form as he does, and Briar often offers to be Mickey's and Monaco's next victim makeover project.
Briar was always a good student in her other school, and that is not about to stop now! The only complaint that the teachers have is her constant kindness, but since she grew up with humans, so they let it slide most of the time.
Amari loves all the creatures and creepy crawlies of the underworld! No one knows she's there, but she knows them. She appreciates Casper's kind heart, Mantha's passion etc. Since Amari pretty much lives inside of Mara's noggin, she also knows about Mara's and Thatch's friendship, and occasionally teases her about it because what else are witchcraft mentors/big sister figures for?
She doesn't mind the faculty for the most part, but sometimes pushes Mara to stick it to the man, especially when it comes to Alder an Dash. Amari also agrees with Frankengymteacher on the fact that villagers with torches are the literal worst.
Amari isn't aware of this, but I think Kibosh knows about her/remembers her, or at least story of her destroying a bunch villages with her magic.

uhhh hh ..... hello! this is the same anon who sent in that ask about object camps. the camps you suggested sound really interesting! im a little too scared to join them for now haha but they sound really cool. they will rotate in my mind for a while i think HGFDSFGHJGFDSDFGH other than that .. 1 . i came across the wiki camp two and it looked so creative and interesting to me! i dont program in css that often anymore but the site makes me wanna go over and put in a bunch of pages. problem is.. i don't know how to Apply? or Do Anything? rn the site is locked for voting but just in general i tried reading the rules but still couldn't understand how it worked. if you knew anything about it that'd be nice. it also seems to have a discord server..? again im scared to check myself but if youre in it i wanna know whether it's a nice space to be in.
2 . uhhghgfdghj i peered through the rest of the blog and found the shelled one blaseball fic you posted ? and i think im really Normal about it. So after reading that i now trust your fanfic opinions. are there any other blaseball fics you'd strongly recommend? and uh general.. uh, evil mind controlly fics would be really nice too (the book of bill is also sort of ruining me along with this so i am truly looking for ANYTHING and like omg hbdxszexrdcfdsxrctvdxszaf) and thats all i wanted to ask you! sorry this is getting REALLY LONG i wish you well and i am So Sorry for bothering you!
HELLO AGAIN! not botherin me at all. :-] i was hopin youd find that answer.... i made sure to answer it at the same time u sent the question so you'd have a MAXIMUM CHANCE of findin it, and u Did! so Yay! welcome back. im going to tag my answers to your Post's with 🩸🟪 so we Never Get Separated Again. but i want you to know.... i don't bite! i literally can't on account of my face is a monitor. so if you wanna chat, feel free to dm me! you seem like a really fun person and we clearly have a lotta interest's in common so Consider That: An Option.
ANYHOO.
1) the wiki camp 2 is ABSOLUTELY a welcoming community. in fact, check this out: here's an index of plainly written explanations of various community in-jokes, to ensure nobody's left confused! while i'm not super active on the discord due to hyperfixating on single spaces at a time like some sort of cryptid, i have a lot of wonderful friends in the community and i'd wholeheartedly call it nice.
you don't have to apply to write, either! while i don't think there's an ETA yet on when the wiki's re-opening, whenever it does you'll be able to make an account for free and start creating to your heart's content! sometimes people who do that even get roped into the camp due to Token Shenanigans....
2) look. i get it. how much do i get it? the post you're talking about was written by my bill cipher fictive. and guess what book made me pick THAT thing up? we're in the same boat. i'm (RELATIVELY) normal 'round these parts, but if you do end up dropping me a line, maybe you'll happen upon some of my stuff? just sayin'. but as for what i can do for ya at the desk here...
thing is, i actually haven't read that much blaseball fanfic. i know! i WANT to. i have a list, which i'll reblog with your special tag right after this. but my brain doesn't let me read a lotta long stuff these days, which is SUCKS! i might poke around some tags and see what i can find, but that spectacular shelled one fic's the only one of its kind i know.
if you wanna read something Long and Serious and Really Really Good that's haunted me for years, put your eyes on Oil and Water, the shoe thieves disaster marriage classic about grief and autism and family and other such things.
then read everything else that catches your fancy, and send me your picks! and hey. if anyone reading this wants to help a cute anon out and knows some fics (or wrote some fics) that fit the Bill i mean the bill, PLEASE lemme know!! i Understand wanting more evil mind control. it's kind of my whole thing. PLUS i'm literally the shelled one's favorite

Hello Jon and all.
I'm getting over-hyped for the TMA TTRPG despite not having the pre-release Kickstarter tier, and so here we are.
I am currently reading the Cypher Core rulebook (yes, all 418 pages of it), and this has sparked a handful of ideas for my own campaign. I then decided I could probably grab some more ideas from Tumblr, and one thing led to another, and thus here we are, one semi-custom CSS made to imitate the Dark Mode of the TMA Transcripts later (as is my custom).
My goal is basically just to have an organised library of ideas for my own campaign - which I'll be DMing... probably in late 2024, unless I get early access to the TMA TTRPG rulebook early - and to give anyone who'd be interested some ideas as well!
For this purpose, I'll be reblogging and posting any ideas for the following, with ideas for stats, levels, etc. based on the Cypher system.
Avatars (once human, now channelling the Fears)
Manifestations (either never-human creatures or locations)
Statement ideas (which would include the 'voice' of the Statement-giver, as well as an outline for the events that happened to the NPC, and some ideas of what the PCs could do to investigate and what sort of shenanigans this may cause)
Artefacts and Cyphers (Artefacts tend to be more powerful, and last several times; Cyphers are, in the Cypher system, basically one-use items, ideas/inspiration, etc.)
Character descriptors (stat alterations), foci (sort of subclasses), and other miscellaneous abilities
Any ideas not in these categories will be marked as Other in the tags. I'll figure out a tag for when I'm making a post (like this one!) that isn't an idea, too.

Not tagged by @veliseraptor, but this looked fun!
Rules: Go to your published works on AO3 and list the first fic you ever published there, the last fic you published, any fic that you wrote for a fandom/ship only once, your favorite fic you wrote in the fandom/ship that has the most works, the fic you wish more people read, the fic you agonized over the most, the fic that sprang fully formed from your mind without any effort, and a work you are proud of—for whatever reason.
first fic you ever published there: First ever was The Orphan from Tsubasa fandom, published to AO3 on 9/03/2010! More than thirteen years ago this month, gosh. This was however by no means the first fic I ever wrote, nor even the date I wrote it -- I republished a bunch of fics over from fanfiction.net and this just happened to be the first.
last fic you published: Immortal Lamb Crusader Way , which actually got a much bigger reception than I'd expected! considering it was a crossover fic (thus a higher bar to entry than non-crossover fic.) By no means upset by this, but slightly baffled, I am left to conclude that Scum Villain fic readers are really just hungry for new content.
any fic that you wrote for a fandom/ship only once: Hrm. Hard to qualify. There are several fandoms that are on there only once, but they tend to be either fusions or crack crossovers (like the Never Gonna Tell A Lie Saga.) I don't think those count. The only one that really meets the criteria for this would be abovementioned Immortal Lamb Crusader Way, but I fully intend to write more SVSSS/BingQiu later on! So... let's say The Dressmaker's Bride, which I'd consider the only fic I ever seriously wrote for CSS and Tomoyo/Sakura.
your favorite fic you wrote in the fandom/ship that has the most works: This would actually be the Dragon Age fandom -- couple of prospects from there. I quite liked fruits of poison, flowers of blood as an exploration of the Anders and Merrill friendship and also Mirror, Mirror as a shenanigans comedy featuring multiple Hawke clones. But I think this one has to go to One Elegant Solution by virtue of being my magnum opus out of the entirely sixty-five bunch of them.
fic you wish more people read: Gosh. Honestly a few options here. Just the other day I was thinking of Blood Feathers - a Fenders minibang fic I wrote that featured Fenris as a griffon-riding Gray Warden and Anders as a griffon veterinarian, was a fic that I thought turned out very well but didn't get a lot of air time. And man, I was just really proud with how well Complicity came out, a Critical Role story unpacking Jester's torture trauma from the Iron Angels arc. And some of my older TRC fics -- particularly Undervoice and Cocoon -- fell into an awkward period between platforms where they never got much viewership either on FFNet or on AO3. Alas.
fic you agonized over the most: The really long ones probably have the most sweat blood and tears shed total -- One Elegant Solution from Dragon Age, Wizards/Heralds from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle; (say hello to my) thirty million little friends from MDZS; but probably the one I agonized the most over for the eventual least impact was Labyrinth, an Avengers/Silent Hill crossover (see above note about crossovers having a higher bar to entry than non-crossovers; the fact that I picked a non-flagship pairing for this one probably didn't help.)
fic that sprang fully formed from your mind without any effort: I don't know that any of them were no effort, but How To Become A Champion in 4 Easy Steps really did spring fully formed from my head, a second-person POV exploration of Hawke's grief and loss.
a work you are proud of—for whatever reason: proud of a lot of em for many and various reasons! but I think Cover Up the Sun probably holds the record, out of all of my works ever, for having the most readers reaching out to me to say that it really helped them personally -- from the person who said that the apology conversation helped them realize that their friends were treating them badly, to some folks who found Loki's unpacking of his grief over his mother's death helped them deal with their own parents' death, to one person who left a note that this fic had helped them decide to go on living. That's the sort of thing that really makes spending years on writing to feel worth it, you know?

skin updates.
okay, this probably counts as advertising, but, if you're unfamiliar with css and the shenanigans of jcink's skinning, i'd highly recommend you to purchase the installation package!
with $30, you'd have all the elements plugged in and ready to go! which also includes my searching for your site's graphic needs. (by the end of my work on this, you'll also receive the full psd file).
the skin installation package also covers my debugging, personalised forum row layouts (two columns and one column) and arbitrary custom profile fields sections which you can have a part or some parts removed or added in another place!
and to top it off, one free bonus template!
