Shanghai’s Back in the Saddle
Shanghai’s Back in the Saddle The brand-new Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Centre, located at the Expo Park in the Pudong New Area, is China’s first permanent professional equestrian venue. The venue boasts a nearly 5,000-seat, Olympic-spec main arena, along with amenities such as a live broadcasting center, a horse clinic, permanent stables, the International Horse Art Center, and an International Equestrian Academy. To get more news in shanghai china, you can visit citynewsservice.cn official website.
Thomas, a first-time visitor to Shanghai, was genuinely taken aback by the city and the impressive new venue. “It’s not a long time that China has been a host country, but it is growing really fast,” he said. “The stadium is amazing; I think it’s one of the best in the world. All the riders that came from Europe or America say it’s just something they’ve never seen before.”
The warmth of the audience also left a lasting impression. Even during runs that were not so good, the audience cheered for the riders. When Chinese riders took to the arena, the volume went up a few more notches. Four Chinese riders, including Olympic rider Zhang Xingjia, world championship rider Wang Yunjing, and Zheng Wenjie, competed. Twenty-four-year-old Pang Qinyu made his debut at the Shanghai event, placing 21st in the CSI5 international jumping competition in two phases on May 3. Pang, born in 2000 in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, has achieved many successes in national equestrian competitions and aims to compete in the Los Angeles Olympics by 2028.
In May and June, Pang plans to participate in competitions in Madrid, Spain, and Cannes and Paris in France, aiming to earn points for the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games.

ok now that i'm more coherent a few more #info i can give to my non-horsey riders:
CCI5*-L, CCIP1*, CCIP2*, CCI1*, CCI2*
"CCI" stands for "Concours Complet International", which is the FEI (International Federation for Equestrian Sports, Fédération International d'Équitation) denomination for Eventing competitions, an equestrian sport in which horse and rider go through dressage, cross-country and show jumping competitions (in that order or with SJ and cross-country switched) one after the other. Eventing competitions can either take place over the course of one day or other the course of 2 or 3 ; the -L denomination, for "long", denotes eventing competitions done in 2 or 3 days. the stars system is a difficulty rating, basically: the higher the stars (max. 5*) the harder it is, either due to course length, obstacles height, or dressage level. (my belief is that eva competes in Long events, just like Dankovsky, won't lie i was just too lazy to add that -L).
typically, obstacles of the show-jumping part of the event are less high than obstacles of show jumping-only competitions, as the need for endurance over the course of 3 different challenges takes precedence over obstacles heights.
the "P" stands for "Pony", and CCIP(x)* events are eventing events tailored for ponies.
a CCI5*-L cross-country run can look [like this].
CSI5*
"CSI" stands for "Concours de Saut International", or "International Jumping Competition", the FEI denomination for show jumping ranks. Just like for CCI, stars indicate a level/difficulty, with 5*, also known as Grand Prix, being the highest star number you can ahve (then you got the Olympics, the system of qualification of which i'm not even gonna touch)
a CSI5* run can look [like this] at highest height (1.6cm)
Intermediate II
Dressage is not ranked by stars but follows another ranking pattern. Intermediate II (which comes right after Intermediate I, go figure) comes before Grand Prix, the highest level.
an Inter II reprise can look [like this].
since we're on charlotte dujardin with ^ please oh pleeeease can we watch her record-breaking 2014 grand prix freestyle test with valegro. in which she broke the record she herself had set the year before. did you know charlotte dujardin holds the world record in all 3 grand prix dressage categories (grand prix, grand prix special, grand prix freestyle).
i had warned you. patho equestrian au image dump with elusive lore.
all competition outfits were made to be FEI guidelines-compliant (except for the Yulia's Hunter, which is not regulated by the FEI, which complies to the standards of Hunter/Equitation competitions regulatory bodies i could find), and if they're not it's not on purpose and will ask you to pretend they are.
characters that are not depicted in this imageset i either do not see as pivotal or even accessory to this AU OR i just didn't want to draw them because i'd like to. do something else with my life eventually. as it were.
this au takes place exactly where it takes place. typically western/american sporting disciplines such as barrel racing, calf roping, rodeo, [...] are not included in this au because these disciplines are not widely exported outside of its north-american birthplace, go figure, as they are historically anchored in the cattle herding and ranching traditions of vaqueros and cowboys on the great northern american plains, and depend of a historical, political, anthropological and geographical context that was not replicated in europe or asia (because we have our own things). Exception is made for Yulia's Hunter/Equitation competition, as Hunter/Equitation is a sporting discipline itself based on westen european (typically british) upper-class horseback fox-hunting traditions, so it's a "what goes around comes around" type of deal. also isn't she dapper lol.
a horse's height is measured at the withers, which is the ridge between their shoulder blades, appearing as a bump between their neck and back, just behind which the saddle is put, so if a horse's height appears "small" for a big animal, it's because the length of the neck is not counted in that height.
#charlotte dujardin and valegro fancam in my mind...#feel free to ask anything else Honse related mind you. as you've seen. huge fan. thumbs up emoji#patho equestrian au#<- this is normal to me

June 27, 2015 - THROWBACK- Charlotte attended the winners ceremony of the Monaco 2015 CSI5* 1.60m during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Monaco. I think she might have worn a dress from Missoni. Although I wasn’t able to find an exact match for the piece, it looks like the print was featured in the Resort 2011 collection.
