Why the U.S. adversary is a lot like Al Capone

Carl von Clausewitz observed in his classic On War that “the maximum use of force is by no means incompatible with the simultaneous use of the intellect.” That means, in part, acting thoughtfully but with the utmost effort, understanding that war is more bar fight than chess game. Or, to put it in the simpler words of Jim Malone, Eliot Ness’s counselor in The Untouchables, “You wanna know how to get Capone? They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That’s the Chicago way! And that’s how you get Capone.”

Al Capone is an apt analogy for what the West confronts in Russia: a particularly noxious mix of Mafia mentality, hypernationalist ideology, and totalitarian technique. Elegance is not the Russian way, and it cannot be our way. This is the light in which one should measure the accomplishments of NATO’s recent gathering in Madrid.

The tangible efforts that Western leaders announced were impressive in many respects, particularly the commitments to provide Ukraine with nearly 500 artillery systems, 600 tanks, hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition, and more. The question, as always, is whether these will be delivered as swiftly as they can be absorbed, and whether the United States and its allies are “leading the target” by putting in place now the infrastructure to prepare Ukraine for the weapons it will require and hopefully receive one, two, or six months from now, and for training the large forces it must mobilize.

The United States made some incremental additional commitments of forces to Europe, including two destroyers for a naval base in Spain. The policy declarations were important as well: a decision to expand by an order of magnitude NATO’s high-readiness forces; a formal recognition of the challenge (NATO avoided for now the word threat) posed by China; and an agreement to welcome Finnish and Swedish applications to join the alliance.

But these moves, beneficial as they may be, only partly meet the needs of the moment. Time and again Ukraine has demonstrated its ability to absorb high-end military hardware and deploy it quickly and effectively. This seems to be the case with HIMARS, the mobile rocket systems that are extremely accurate, and with which Ukrainian forces seem to be already hitting Russian ammunition dumps and military headquarters. Instead of the promised eight, the Ukrainians need 80, and work should be happening now to scale up transfers of these and like weapons as fast as possible.

What the Biden administration still struggles with is the ultimate purpose of Western assistance to Ukraine. At his press conference, the president said that the United States and its allies would not “allow Ukraine to be defeated.” That is the wrong objective. It should be, rather, to ensure Russia’s defeat—the thwarting of its aims to conquer yet more of Ukrainian territory, the smashing of its armed forces, and the doing of both in a convincing, public, and, yes, therefore humiliating way. Chicago rules, in other words.

In the same way, the administration is wrong to titrate arms out of a misguided desire to avoid provoking Russian escalation or enabling the Ukrainians to do too much. The West is in a moment of military-industrial crisis; it should be taking concrete measures to ramp up industrial mobilization, with the goal of equipping Ukraine to the maximum while rearming the expanding forces of a newly awakened NATO.

Even as Western allies counter Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, they must also meet the broader and longer-term threat that Russia poses to the eastern members of NATO, particularly the Baltic states.

The Western allies will not invade Russia, nor will they overthrow its regime directly—one day, hopefully, Russians will do that. Putin is motivated by imperial fantasies of imitating Peter the Great and other, even less savory Russian leaders. And Putin’s successor, should the Russian leader die or become incapacitated while in office, will likely be no better. For evidence of that, one need only consult the ravings of key advisers such as Nikolai Patrushev. If and when the battles cease in Ukraine, Russia’s intentions to expand and subjugate its neighbors will remain.

The good news here is that if one sets aside misleading memories of World War II and the Cold War, and disregards the ominous mutterings of experts who exaggerated Russian capacity before the war, then it becomes obvious that Russia is a weak state.

Russia’s GDP is less than that of South Korea. Its leadership is afraid to openly mobilize its middle class, so it refuses to declare war and send young men from Moscow and St. Petersburg to the slaughterhouse that is the Donbas. Its generals are, for the most part, incompetent, which is why purges of them continue. It is scraping the bottom of its manpower barrel and so raises to absurd heights the age level of potential service members. Corruption and indiscipline have rotted out its maintenance and low-level leadership. What it has is Cold War–era stockpiles of weapons and munitions (and those are huge, but finite); some pockets of excellence, for example its railroad units; and utter disregard for human life throughout the chain of command.

Even so, a mangy, myopic, and rabid bear is still a dangerous beast. That’s why beating Russian forces in Ukraine is not enough. The West must impose upon Russia sanctions intended not, as the current ones are, to punish, but rather to enfeeble (Chicago rules, again). The plummeting of Russian car production is an example of a basic fact, which is that Russian production depends, more than one might think, on access to Western chips, machine tools, and special materials. However the Ukraine war ends, permanently or temporarily, the West needs to settle into a comprehensive sanctions regime that will weaken Russia’s economy in the long haul and throttle its ability to rearm on a large scale when the shooting stops.

NATO expansion should assist in this process. The alliance will soon in all likelihood have Sweden and Finland as full members. They have real and potential capacity (Finland more the former, Sweden more the latter) and serious political leadership. But a NATO of 32 members will be even more unwieldy than what we now have.

The solution—which cannot be publicly declared—is a NATO-within-NATO. Germany, France, and Italy have the largest economies in the European Union and in theory should carry the most weight in European-security decision making as well. But they cannot. Germany, the proverbial Hamlet of nations, is fatally compromised by its unwillingness and inability to make good on military commitments, and its recent sordid past in enabling Russia’s growth and stranglehold on European energy supplies. France is domestically torn, while the overweening vanity of its presidents makes it difficult for them to get a receptive hearing from lesser mortals. Italy, as ever, produces statesmen on occasion, but not statesmanship.

A nascent coalition of powers is, however, willing to take Russia seriously and has the muscle to thwart her while bringing less resolute European states along. The Eastern European and Baltic states, with Poland in the lead, know Russian tyranny firsthand, and are ready to stand up to it; the Scandinavian states, in particular Finland and Norway, are almost as intent; the English-speaking external powers, including the United Kingdom and Canada, are similarly alive and determined. It is to this core group that American statecraft must look.

The British chief of the General Staff recently described the Ukraine crisis as a 1937 moment for the West. It was an acute historical comparison. In that year the Sino-Japanese war began, setting the stage for World War II. In that year the West had before it choices that could have avoided the horrors of a far worse conflict, but it ducked.

To their credit, in the current moment, Western leaders are performing far better than did their counterparts 85 years ago—but not yet well enough. We’re dealing with Capone, and while, like Eliot Ness, we need to stay within the constraints of law and basic decency, we also need to apply Chicago rules.

‘The Postcard Killings’ Is Tasteless at Just About Every Turn

Based on one of the endless James Patterson crime novels that hit the screen like flies and always leave an ugly stain, 'The Postcard Killings' is a lurid, tasteless crime procedural about a plague of serial slaughters by a pair of particularly demented maniacs roaming across Europe torturing and mutilating young newlyweds and leaving their victims nude and positioned to resemble famous works of art. It’s more gruesome than I dare to describe.

In 'The Postcard Killings', the director settles for insufferable talk and unspeakable gore. The star is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, a veteran of numerous TV series from Grey’s Anatomy to The Walking Dead. His gruff appeal is wasted here in the one dimensional role of Jacob Kanon, a New York detective for 30 years who is decimated when his daughter and her husband are murdered on their honeymoon in London. After a drunken binge, he is persuaded by his estranged wife Valerie (Famke Janssen) to pull himself together and travel to the U.K. in the style of Humphrey Bogart (and more recently, Liam Neeson) to investigate.

When he gets no help from the British police, he takes on the case alone and discovers another couple has been killed in a similar fashion in Madrid. As the film plods on, more newly married couples turn up in Munich, Brussels and Stockholm replete with closeups of gouged out eyeballs, severed arms and sewn-together lips. The killers precede each arrival by sending a postcard to a local journalist. The clues are intriguing, and how they lead to a final showdown on a snowy road in Helsinki is part of the fun.

The problem is, there is no fun. A puzzle of many twisted parts is played out by a large, badly directed cast that includes the detective’s wife, a pair of passionate lovers who may or may not be siblings dedicated to incest, a New York prison inmate (versatile, under-appreciated Denis O’Hare) serving a life sentence, and a journalist (Cush Jumbo) who writes a column about an American living in Sweden. Their connections to the works of art on the postcards probably read better in the novel than in the inert screenplay adapted by Andrew Stern and Ellen Brown Furman.

The script seesaws up and down between subplots while Jeffrey Dean Morgan slogs his way through the whole thing with one expression. He is very good at emotional breakdowns, and does them often. Sort of keeps you awake, if you know what I mean.

In Sweden, he forms a sort of sleuthing partnership with expat American Dessie (Cush Jumbo), as well as the local police. They eventually suss that the murders are “staged” as references to various famous artworks, sending a message intended to be received by a wealthy albeit incarcerated art collector (Denis O’Hare).

Meanwhile, another fresh-faced young American pair (Naomi Battrick, Ruairi O’Connor) are backpacking the Continent, seemingly vulnerable to sketchy strangers like slightly older, heavily tattooed Pieter (Dylan Devonald-Smith), met on a train, and the girlfriend who later joins him (Sallie Harmsen as Nienke). But this dynamic is not what it appears, giving “The Postcard Killings” its only effective plot twist at about the 45-minute mark.

The film seems oddly disinterested in emphasizing action, fear or thrills. There isn’t even much in the way of atmospherics, with the bright, glossy, location-shot look more apt for tourism promotion than a tale whose twisted mayhem owes considerable conceptual debt to “Se7en.”

Jacob is belligerent and bullying toward local authorities he treats like amateurs, convinced only his own rule-breaking methods can catch the killers - which turns out to be true.

Once identified, those killers aren’t very credible, let alone frightening, and other figures in the competent supporting cast seldom get much character detailing. Second-billed Janssen is largely superfluous, relegated to a few scenes as a long distance contact.

'The Postcard Killings' ultimately feels all too familiar, recalling not only such far superior films as 'Se7en', but also countless episodes of such television procedurals as the CSI and Criminal Minds franchises. Even the casting feels like a television movie. Despite his formidable charisma, Morgan doesn't bring much to his role that we haven't seen before, and the supporting players, including Denis O'Hare in a brief appearance deliver adequate but hardly galvanizing performances.

Ever since 'The Silence of the Lambs' turned an elaborately grisly serial killer plot into an award-winning mega-hit, it takes a lot to make these stories feel new. 'The Postcard Killings' - awkwardly pitched between serious art and pulp trash - doesn’t do nearly enough.

Los paparazzis Vol. 2: El misterio de Youmag

 Muy buenas a tod@s! Bienvenidos una vez mas a nuestro blog! En el post de hoy estaremos hablando del salseo de Youmag, su relación con Los Play Awards y analizando la nueva información más pertinente que ha surgido a raíz del video de Wismichu y todo lo demás! 

Antes de empezar pido una disculpa a todos por las demoras con el blog, pero han surgido situaciones personales grave que me han impedido continuar con el mismo. 

Muchas gracias a todos por el apoyo que siempre me dan y quiero agradecer a todos los seguidores de Tumblr, que ya somos 500!! 

Como parte de esta entrada de nuestro blog,  les traemos el articulo completo con el texto y TODAS las fotos de la revista Youmag en relación con Rubina. También analizaremos el tema y daremos nuestra opinión, por supuesto a nuestra irimanera.

Favor de notar la melosidad de la redacción, parece un cuento de hadas y miren la ironia, que hablan del estrés de los rumores, mientras publican esta bazofia y esta invasión a la privacidad. (Y no, yo no invado la privacidad de nadie, lo visto en este blog esta en Internet, como estas fotos). 

“Sin tener que soporta el odio y la envidia de nadie”, dice esta basura llena de hipocresía, pero si esta revista/fotos, es lo que ha causado la indignación de la mayoría de la enchufehaters y la creación de este blog, al darnos cuenta de que ella era la principal sospechosa detras de todo esto y mas adelante en el area de conclusiones entraremos en detalle sobre esto. 

Notan como Iri mira directamente a la cámara en las fotos de arriba y enfoca su cara de manera de que se la ve aun mas clara que al mismo Rubius? Como para que todos pudieran notar que en efecto es ella, no ninguna otra mujer. 

Observen detenidamente el coche en que iban, ya que luego hablaremos mas de este detalle, el cual es muy importante también. Noten que es un color muy común, modelo normalito y que no destaca en lo absoluto. Como exactamente supieron cual era, color, matricula? Como poder identificarlos y saber a donde iban? Siguiendolos! Y es normal que Rubius que no conduce no se percate que alguien lleva días siguiéndole, pero Irina, ella como conductora debió notar que siempre el mismo coche andaba cerca de donde ella iba. No fue un día, fueron varios días acosandolos por cielo, mar y tierra!!  Para poder seguirlos por carretera por toda la isla tenían que estar lo suficientemente cerca para no perderlos....a no ser, que tuvieran las localizaciones previamente, antes de salir? .......

Notan como la enfocan a ella en vez de a el, que es el conocido, el famoso y el que tiene millones de seguidores? 

No hace sentido, lo importante no es ella, sino que está con el. Ese es el valor “noticioso” o no? Parece que no! Que clase de “prensa” es esta, que no sabe ni enfocar una noticia?? 

Y esta es la  foto mas importante y reveladora de todas. En ella sabemos que no solo los paparazzis sabían la información completa, correcta y en detalle, sino que iban desde Madrid con ellos. La foto de abajo, a  la izquierda es la T4, de estas imagenes tambien hay un video, el cual veran a continuacion. La foto en la escalera, fue del segundo avión que tomaron para llegar  a Madeira, el cual debió ser tomado en Oporto o Lisboa. No hay vuelo directo desde Madrid. 

El video de arriba procede el canal oficial de la revista y muestra claramente a los fotógrafos filmando a Rubius e irina desde bastante cerca, mientras hacían la fila en la T4. Las voces que se escuchan no son de los fotógrafos, sino de dos personas que estaban al lado y hasta bajan la voz para que no salir en el video, sin éxito ninguno. 

Como pueden ver iban preparados con TODO y por alguien definitivamente muy bien informado de todos los minúsculos pormenores. 

Esta foto igualmente nos brinda muchisima informacion y hasta un poco mas! En ella nos revelan uno de los detalles claves de este asunto, la renta del coche y el hecho de que no estaban a pie en la isla ni dependiendo de trasportes del Hotel. Recuerden que Iri sabe conducir y que tuvo que ser la conductora, ya que Rubén no tiene permiso. Este dato es esencial!

Recuerdan el email que les puse que subió Nuria a Twitter en mi Instagram? Ella lo subio despues que un grupo de esbirras de Irina la acusaron de que ella había contactado a la revista, en vez de ellos a ella. Nuria no tenía la información sobre la vida o viajes privados de Rubius, ni sabia donde podía encontrarlos y por ende es imposible y descabellado que pudiera dar esa información a nadie. Todo lo que ella, al igual que yo, ha hablado es mediante las redes y con cosas accesibles y de dominio publico, como en sus mismos videos se puede ver. De este email que ella provee, para limpiar su nombre ante estas absurdas acusaciones, hemos sacado bastante información.

Analicemos:

1) Youmag llevaba meses buscando a Rubina. Estaban intentando contactar gente desde Junio. No tuvieron éxito inicial. No supieron cómo dar con ellos en Madrid. Lo dice claramente el primer párrafo, la había contactado ellos inicialmente a ella hacía meses. Ese era el tiempo que estuvieron en la planificación y lanzamiento de la única edición de Youmag, la cual pudieron observar más arriba. 

2) Parte del equipo de Youmag trabaja en los Play Awards,  eso es verdad. Sin embargo no fueron ellos los que tomaron las fotos. Ellos COMPRARON las fotos,  las cuales llegaron por fotógrafos independientes. Los fotógrafos no eran parte de la compañía. 

3) Fue tan difícil localizarlo en España que tuvieron que ir a Portugal con todos los datos. Quién proveyó todos los datos?  Coche, hotel, vuelo,  destino exacto,  fechas... TODO!  Esos son datos muy sensitivos, que incluyen todo tipo de información privada como números de tarjetas de crédito, pasaportes y demás. 

QUIEN MÁS?  

QUIÉN SABÍA TODOS LOS DETALLES ANTES QUE NADIE?  

QUIÉN SE HA BENEFICIADO MÁS QUE NADIE?  

QUIEN TIENE AHORA CONTRATOS QUE ANTES NI IMAGINABA Y 80K en la red donde trabaja?  PUES IRINA! 

Quien que no fuera alguien muy cercano tendría esos detalles? Tal y como explicó en su video el mismo Rubius.   Como supieron que coche le iban a asignar en el rental?  Eso no se sabe en detalle hasta que no te lo entregan. Está sujeto a disponibilidad de las unidades disponibles de la gama/modelo contratada. Como supieron cuál era?  Como obtuvieron la matrícula del auto?  Cómo?  Si eso se enteraron al momento de verlo ellos mismos!  Esa información no te la dan al momento del trámite. 

Cómo lo sé?  Porque conduzco y he rentado unas 20 veces coches y en Europa también. Sé cómo funciona y tengo un amigo que trabaja para Avis de gerente y me confirmó las políticas de privacidad de este tipo de compañías (las cuales discuti en el volumen anterior que esta de referencia arriba del todo) y que este dato (matrícula, color) no se da hasta no tener al cliente físicamente debido a que dependen de las unidades disponibles de la gama rentada. Por ende,  quién más pudo ser?? Sólo alguien que le interesaba Irina o ella misma. No hay más!  No hay más explicación lógica y aunque Rubius quiera culpar a todos menos a Iri,  es la sospechosa más probable. Tuvo la oportunidad,  motivo,  medios,  contactos y conocimiento.

Video de Wismichu y Salseo de Play Awards

Y lo mas curioso e interesante de todo, es que ahora, meses después de las primeras declaraciones de Rubius ( y de las bromas de Irina) sobre los paparazzis ha surgido mucha nueva información que esta siendo confirmada por el propio Rubén y hasta Wismichu. A que me refiero? A que los organizadores de la gala de premios Play Awards al parecer y todo parece indicar esta relacionada con la revista Youmag. 

Hace unos meses atrás, nosotras habíamos visto un video sobre el tema, de un youtuber pequeño, no nos acordamos el canal para ser sinceras, no éramos seguidoras. Sin embargo, ese video lo añadi a like y ya no está. Desapareció con la gran mayoría de las pruebas relacionadas con Youmag, que ese chico logró recolectar y de las cuales ahora verán como parte del video de Wismichu, el cual tambien tendran a continuacion, para los que aun no lo hayan visto. 

Como ven Mangel  y otros muchos youtubers tampoco irán, como Luna Dangelis, Alexby o Joaquinputoamo. 

Joaquín es también parte de este salseo, debido a que conocía al creador de los premios, ya que ambos son de Mallorca y asistio el año pasado, donde ganó un premio. 

En el video se muestran pruebas definitivas sobre lo que dijo Rubén en Twitter, desde emails hasta documentos sobre la compañía que hoy día no existen. Lo sabemos, porque lo intentamos buscar y tal como Wismichu explica, han borrado muchas de las evidencias de la relación entre los creadores de los premios con los responsables de la revista. Es importante el ver el video completo, aunque la investigación CSI empieza alrededor del minuto 6 en adelante. 

Ambas compañías estaban registradas en Mallorca y al nombre del mismo dueño, con direccion y telefonos compatibles. Aparte que Los Play Awards lanzaron el siguiente comunicado, donde intentan ( de manera muy poco creíble) limpiar su imagen y desligarse del problema.

 A la vez que niegan, aceptan y el comunicado esta mal redactado y se contradice  en si mismo. Abajo lo pongo y veran de lo que hablo en el primer párrafo. Básicamente, admiten que hubo o había una relación comercial, debido a que los organizadores de la revista eran inversores de los premios y por ende si había una relación con la organización  con los mismos. 

Como pueden ver si hay una relación y la excusa del informático no me la trago. Me parece poco probable, tal y  como dijo Wismichu en su  video. 

Datos de interés:

1. Joaquin conoce al organizador y este el pidió que hablara con  Wismichu para que  no hiciera el video.

2. Wismichu muestra pruebas que hoy día fueron borradas y que fueron imposibles de encontrar junto con los videos. Si eran inocentes, porque borraron en vez de defenderse?? 

3. Si como afirma Wismi, sabían los propios youtubers que los premios estaban comprados, porque participaron y prestaron su imagen? El mostro un email donde le aseguraban un premio, si iba. Hizo bien en no ir, pero los que lo sabían y fueron lo hicieron por ego. A ver si aprenden la lección, porque el que le miente de esa manera a millones de personas, a millones de fans (sus fans), los engaña a ustedes tambien.  a ver sí que piensen dos veces antes de actuar por ego otra vez. 

4. Como el mismo comunicado indica (se entierran xd) los premios son costosos y hay muchas marcas de por medio, que posiblemente retiraran su patrocinio con este escándalo y debido a  la fata de participación de la comunidad de youtubers. Ya saben, solo importa el dinero y la buena imagen de los Play Awards, para generar más dinero, a través de timar a los youtubers y sus fandoms

Y dentro de todo Iri no podía faltar y tenia que manifestarse.

Wismichu habló en el video sobre el acoso a Rubius por parte de Youmag y la invasión a su privacidad. Irina le dio like en señal que estaba de acuerdo y esto para mi es solo una manera de llamar la atención y obviamente de parecer la víctima nuevamente. 

Si realmente se sentía acosada y estaba molesta por lo sucedido en Madeira, porque en su momento , cuando pasó todo el salseo no dijo algo serio? Porque no dio su punto de vista?  Ella tiene sus redes y es libre de poner lo que quiere. Cuando se trata del “acoso” del fandom nunca duda en quejarse y para agradecer lo que le han dado (irimoney), pues no, eso no. Antes de este like solo había dicho lo siguiente en tono jocoso y no parecía estar nada abatida.

Obvio luego le dio iridelete. No parecia tan molesta y claro era la mas beneficiada $$$$. Ganó más de 40k en seguidores solo en Youtube en tres días. 

Esto si contar todos los nuevos contratos y oportunidades que ha recibido desde tener 40k seguidores en Instagram. No ha perdido oportunidad para hacer anuncios de perfumes y hasta  de zapatillas mediante sus redes y las de sus amigas. Las campañas y sus anunciantes han mejorado a un nivel que sola jamás hubiera alcanzado. 

Ejemplos:

De fotografa para Vogue, cuando no tenía ninguna experiencia profesional ni estudios relacionados en ese campo. Se les hace justo? 

Y porque Nike la eligió? 

Como pueden leer, Nike contrató a un grupo, “crew” de influencers, todas amigas de Iri. La contrataron, como bien se explica porque tiene seguidores. Nadie es influencer sin influencia.

 Y porque y desde cuando tiene follow? Desde los paparazzis, gracias a que Youmag confirmara su noviazgo de manera bastante turbia, llegando al panorama por un concurso de hot dogs, enchufada mediante sus contactos, como ya antes de ha probado mediante este blog y los videos de Nuria Wine. 

Obviamente, que no se iba a quejar, si Iri se ha beneficiado más que nadie y ha obtenido su sueño de ser modelo profesional gracias todo a esto. 

Noticia sobre el asunto y noten cómo relacionan visualmente Vogue con Youmag, es cínico, simbiótico y astuto a su vez. Sin una publicación nunca hubiera existido la otra. 

Noten también como hacen siempre referencia a su instagram y como resaltan sus redes, dándole importancia a los seguidores que todos sabemos que obtuvo gracias a los paparazzis y al novio. 

Rubius no la presenta, no habla mucho de ella, no la menciona por su nombre, no la etiqueta y si no fuera como fue, nunca hubiera admitido públicamente que era su pareja.

Y para culminar hasta Dalas entro al Salseo, defendiendo los Play Awards, el alega que al menos a el, nadie le ofreció un premio. 

Dalas hablando en favor de los Play Awards. Estoy en contra de un 70% de lo que dice porque siento que esta viciado por la historia personal que tiene con Wismichu, a causa de  lo acontecido con su actual novia y ex de Dalas (Ingrid). Dalas le tiene odio a Wismi y aquí se ve reflejado y siento que Dalas es la persona menos adecuada para ser objetivo en ningún tema relacionado con Wismichu. Y no se ofendan Pambisitos,  no odio a Dalas,  sólo que no estoy muy a favor de su opinión en está ocasión. Aunque hay un 30% muy bueno con el que sí en parte concuerdo.

Y claro que si, las fotos obviamente estaban pautadas,  dándole tremenda publicidad a la Srta. Isasia,  pero Rubén que tenía que ganar?  Estoy de acuerdo estaban pautados  pero no por Rubén y Dalas se ha pasado con este comentario  en contra del más afectado de todos. La persona que no ganó. Irina todo lo que tiene lo adquirió a base del salseo. No tiene sentido que sea Rubén el implicado. Quiero que haya video y quiero ver todas sus opiniones y sobretodo en que se basa para implicar a Rubén. 

Conclusiones

Youmag era una bomba lista para estallar, fue un gran shock ver el desenlace de los rumores sobre Irina volverse realidad y que mucha gente se diera cuenta que Nuria no mentia, cuando afirmó que en efecto la novia era Irina y era una enchufada. 

Y sin embargo dentro de todo el salseo nadie menciona el detalle de las fotos y como llegaron hasta ellos los paparazzis en Madeira. Sin información precisa, exacta y verdadera, nunca hubiera podido existir las fotos. Ese es el tema que nadie toca..

Y miren....

Notan el tono meloso? Demasiado edudados, como dice Dalas. 

No les recuerda a algo? No? Veamos otra foto acercada

Miren como la promocionan, hablan de sus bondades y de su físico, exaltandolo y sus  oficios, como si de un anuncio pautado para anunciar a irina se tratara. Hasta vaticinan su éxito con esta tremenda pauta, iripauta salseante. Podrían ser mas obvios?? lol! 

Y estas cositas, no les recuerdan a cierto articulo de relaciones publicas  de Vogue?? La exaltación del físico, sus bondades, sus ocupaciones y hasta mencionan sus redes y su carrera de modelo, como siempre.

Un detalle importante, aunque ya lo he mencionado antes es que siempre en las fotos de Youmag se hacia zoom a Irina más que a Rubén, como para que se viera claro que era ella y nadie la pudiera confundirla esta vez. 

El lenguaje utilizado es distinto,  adaptado para diferente audiencia, pero al final el proposito es el mismo: la exaltación de la figura de Irina, otra parte mas del plan de relaciones publicas y marketing para llevar su imagen de “influencer de plástico”.

Junk Science Locks Up Innocent People

Do you watch CSI, Law & Order, NCIS?  I like how those crime shows use modern science to get the bad guy.

“People who watch these shows believe that this is how it’s really done,” says former NYPD Dectective Harry Houck.  

It’s not?

Former detective Harry Houck’s annoyed that the TV shows make forensic science look infallible. “And you watch a detective get down and look at a body and touch it: ‘He’s been dead for three hours now, he ate dinner four hours ago.’ I can’t do that.”  

On TV, experts identify the killer by his bite mark.  In real life, experts claim they can identify criminals that way.  The TV show Cold Case Files covered the trial in which Alfred Swinton was convicted, because this so-called bite mark expert said Swinton’s teeth matched a bite on the victim.  The expert explained he’s a “neutral scientist.”

“The doctor was just wrong.  He was just wrong, because it’s an unreliable technique,” says Chris Fabricant of the Innocence Project.  “They’re in white lab coats, they sound very authoritative, but they’re full of it.  

Lawyer Chris Fabricant helped get Swinton freed from jail by doing a DNA test.  “Bite marks are similar to you and I maybe looking at a cloud, and then I say to you, ‘John, doesn’t that cloud look like a rabbit to you?’  And you look at it and say, ‘Yeah, Chris, I think that does look like a rabbit.’”  

But that kind of junk science puts innocent people in jail.  That’s one or two people.  Many more people are in jail, and we’re supposedly safer because of that.

“If you think that maybe even 1% of convicted defendants may have been innocent, we have 2.6 million people in prison today.  So we’re not talking about a couple of people.  We’re talking about tens of thousands of people.”

But the people who use these techniques they believe in it.  They’re confident. “Sure, their confident.  It’s faith-based science.”

The expert who got Swinton convicted now admits he was wrong.  But police still trust bite marks.

“Let’s say one tooth is missing in the front.  So you got to look at that, and you go your suspects got one tooth missing in the front.  That’s pretty good.  But then again, that’s not enough,” explains Harry Houck.  Houck says he’d demand other evidence.  But not all cops do.  Especially if experts say they’re sure someone’s guilty.

But even fingerprint evidence isn’t foolproof.  When terrorists in Madrid killed 193 people, the FBI found this fingerprint on one of the terrorist bags and matched it to this fingerprint of a man in Oregon.  However, two weeks after Mayfield’s arrest Spanish investigators found the man to whom the fingerprint really belonged.  FBI researchers claimed fingerprints are right more than 99% of the time, but that still leaves plenty of wrongful convictions.  Other techniques are even less accurate: carpet fiber evidence, gun tracing, hair matching.  "Microscopic hair comparison evidence has  been admitted by courts for a century,” says Fabricant.  In one case, it was a dog’s hair.  “A dog hair was associated wrongfully with a human hair.  Since the turn of this century, there have been 75 wrongful convictions.”

Fabricant works for the Innocence Project.  By using more modern DNA evidence, the project’s lawyers have helped free 191 innocent people.  All these people were wrongly jailed based on so-called scientific evidence.  

Why do judges admit this stuff?  Why don’t defense attorneys get it thrown out?

“We all went to law school because we don’t know science, we don’t know math.  And if somebody comes in with a white lab coat and says, ‘I’ve been accredited by the American Board of Forensic Odontology, and I’ve been practicing for 20 years,’ that’s good enough for government work.”  That shouldn’t be the standard.  Too much is at stake.  Jurors tend to believe people who courts call experts.  But the experts often rely on junk science.  Juries and judges should be much more skeptical.

One downside is income inequality.   Fixing this issue is being tried.  Vote Republican  Why?  Republicans are the only ones who deliver on a promise.
