Crystal Jewellery Styling Tips: How to Incorporate Crystals into Your Everyday Outfits
Crystal jewellery is not only beautiful but also imbued with powerful energies that can enhance your daily life. Incorporating these pieces into your everyday outfits can be both stylish and meaningful. Here are some tips to seamlessly blend crystal jewellery into your wardrobe.
Tumblr media
1. Start with Statement Pieces
If you're new to crystal jewellery, begin with statement pieces like a bold necklace, a chunky bracelet, or a striking ring. These pieces can serve as focal points in your outfit, adding a touch of elegance and intrigue. For example, a large Amethyst pendant can elevate a simple dress, while a raw Citrine ring can add a pop of colour to your ensemble.
2. Layering for Effect
Layering different pieces of crystal jewellery can create a unique and personalised look. Combine necklaces of varying lengths with different crystals to add depth and interest to your outfit. Mix and match bracelets or stack rings for a boho-chic vibe. When layering, consider the colours and energies of the crystals to create a harmonious combination.
3. Complement Your Outfit
Choose crystal jewellery that complements the colours and style of your outfit. For instance, clear or white crystals like Quartz and Moonstone pair well with any colour, while green crystals like Aventurine and Jade add a fresh, earthy touch to neutral or pastel outfits. Be mindful of the overall aesthetic you want to achieve – whether it's casual, elegant, or eclectic.
4. Mind the Occasion
Consider the occasion when selecting your crystal jewellery. For a formal event, opt for elegant pieces like a delicate Rose Quartz necklace or Sapphire earrings. For everyday wear, simpler pieces like a Black Tourmaline bracelet or a Fluorite pendant can add subtle sophistication. Tailoring your jewellery to the occasion ensures that it enhances rather than overpowers your look.
5. Embrace the Energy
Each crystal carries its own energy and properties. Choose jewellery that aligns with your intentions for the day. For example, wear a Carnelian ring to boost confidence and creativity during a presentation, or a Labradorite necklace for protection and intuition on a challenging day. Incorporating the energetic properties of crystals into your style adds a layer of purpose and intention.
6. Mix with Other Accessories
Don't hesitate to mix your crystal jewellery with other accessories. Combine a crystal necklace with a gold chain, or wear a crystal bracelet alongside a leather strap watch. Mixing materials and styles can create a balanced and eclectic look that reflects your personal style.
7. Seasonal Choices
Consider the seasons when selecting your crystal jewellery. Light and airy crystals like Aquamarine and Clear Quartz are perfect for spring and summer, while deeper, richer stones like Garnet and Smoky Quartz complement the autumn and winter months. Seasonal choices can enhance your outfit and resonate with the natural energies of the time of year.
8. Personal Signature
Develop your personal signature style with crystal jewellery. Whether it's a favourite Amethyst bracelet you wear daily or a signature Turquoise ring, having go-to pieces that reflect your personality and style can make your outfits feel uniquely yours.
By following these tips, you can incorporate North London best crystal jewellery into your everyday outfits with ease and elegance. Let your jewellery not only enhance your style but also bring positive energies and intentions into your daily life.

Y/N of Hearts is known all around - both on the Isle and on Auradon - for her fierce temper, and with her heritage it would be more concerning if she didn't have any sort of temper. It wasn't uncommon for her to blow up over the smallest of things, hell she'd even gone up against some of the teachers before and almost against the King himself. There was only one person in the entire world Y/N would never yell at, her girlfriend: Audrey Rose.
The day the barrier had come down and willing villains and VKs were able to pass through was the best day of Y/N's life, finally able to escape from her mother's wrath - something which was always stronger when battling against her own.
When Y/N and Audrey had first met they had both been standoff-ish towards the other but Y/N had quickly grown a soft spot for the preppy, pink princess. The way she never stood for Y/N's bullshit and would always tell her so. The way she was willing to patch Y/N up after a fight. The way she never grew upset or angry at Y/N for little things. The way she actually cared.
And thus a most unlikely friendship formed, a friendship that blossomed into a loving relationship.
Speaking of relationships, it was a week before Y/N and Audrey's one year anniversary and Audrey had brought Evie and Dizzy along with her to the mall to look for gift options and provide Audrey with second opinions. Audrey felt sure jewellery was a safe option; Y/N tended to wear a multitude of accessories at any one time, somehow always making it work without looking too much.
Walking into a jewellery store, Audrey broke away from the other two to look around at what the store had to offer. This store was different to any of the others the girls had been in so far today, almost all the jewellery displayed had some sort of crystal element incorporated into the design.
It was a collection of rings that caught Audrey's eye, specifically one towards the middle of the display case. All the rings were made up of a thin gold that wove itself delicately around different crystals. The one that Audrey had noticed was a crimson red stone labelled 'Red Jasper'.
Audrey called Evie and Dizzy over to where she stood - both of them agreeing the ring was the perfect present for Y/N. Next Audrey waved over a sales employee, asking about price and whether the ring could be wrapped to be bought as a gift.
Five minutes later the three girls were leaving the mall, Audrey carrying her purchase in a small paper bag.
Finally it was the day of Audrey and Y/N's anniversary. Y/N woke up first - deciding to leave her girlfriend in her peaceful slumber - and made her way to the kitchen of their shared apartment, preparing to treat Audrey to breakfast in bed. It wasn't fancy by any means, simply scrambled eggs and toast (cooking was not something that was really taught on The Isle).
Y/N plated two lots of the food, balancing the food and a glass of water on a tray and manoeuvred her way back to the bedroom. Audrey was awake now, the lack of warmth that typically radiated off her girlfriend stirring her from her dreamland. She sat at the vanity across from the bed, brushing out any tangles that had formed in her hair during the night.
Y/N pushed the door close with her foot and pressed a kiss to the crown of Audrey's head as she passed to put the breakfast tray down on the end of their queen-sized bed. Walking back over, Y/N pecked a kiss to the same place as previously before her love turned around on the plush, velvet pink ottoman. "Good morning." Audrey greeted, earning a peck on the lips in reply.
"Morning." Y/N returned the greeting with a soft smile. "Happy anniversary lovely, I'm looking forward to later." 'Later' meant the anniversary date the couple had been planning for a while now, both wanting everything to be perfect.
"Happy anniversary to you too gorgeous. I have something for you." Audrey turned back to face the vanity, reaching into one of the side drawers.
"And I for you." Y/N had moved towards the bedside table next to her side of the bed, pulling out a small black box. Y/N was back in position before Audrey; the box the ring she had bought was in had slipped to the back of the drawer, causing the girl to have to grope around a bit to try and find it.
When Audrey turned back around, Y/N was down on one knee, as if proposing, a small black box sat open in her palm to reveal a ring of gold that intricately wrapped around a soft pink gem. It looked almost the same as the one in the box Audrey held.
Rather than answering Y/N's 'proposal' in words, Audrey pulled out the ring box she'd hidden behind her back, popping it open to reveal the scarlet red stone encased in gold. Seeing the likeness of the rings, the two lovers laughed. They had bought rings from the same set without knowing it. Slipping each other's rings on, Audrey inspected her's closely. It wasn't rose quartz from what she could tell, but she wasn't sure what it was instead.
Noticing the puzzlement on her girlfriend's face, Y/N couldn't help but chuckle. Grabbing both of Audrey's hands she explained:
"The crystal is called Morganite. Supposedly it radiates the energy of love, peace and compassion," adding in a quieter tone, "at least that's what the store employee said." Returning to her normal volume, the girl continued, "It melts boundaries to make everything seem possible. I heard that and I thought it suited us, more importantly I thought it suited you."
Y/N's words brought a warm blush to Audrey's face as she buried it in her hands, while Y/N just looked on lovingly at her partner. There was no doubt in her mind that, come what may, she would stay by Audrey's side until the day she died.

Yves x Reader Fluff Content Warnings: none
Adorned
Foamy clouds linger over the surface of violet sea, fragrant currents forcing lavender debris to abide by their whims. Helpless, it lets itself be carried over bath salt reefs, ever-careful not to infringe on shallows, although one may argue it is already too late for that. It shivers, remembering that it was once whole… And yet, it cannot fathom how it’d be to fear, the hands that have stripped it from its stem being far too gentle, too elegant, to inspire this sort of sentiment.
Rosemary joins mint over placid waves, lingers in gulfs around the flushed ivory islands. It seems to huddle closer to the warmed flesh, perhaps awaiting something – doomed be lavender and its sorry state. Too gullible, it remains blind to the most obvious of signs, omen-ripples escaping its sight.
Water stirs.
The world shifts, old order crumbling as lands collapse for other to emerge from the depths, the very first six days of the whole universe being re-enacted within the borders of a bath. Caged elements rage, oils boil despite lack of heat as floral debris sinks, tectonic plates of human body rearranging their position; Yves settles once again in the tub. His eyes open wide at the door that shields him not, despite its duty to. He does not reach to cover himself, however, nor does he seem to feel threatened by your inquiring stares. The air of his room has reached him and cooled down the steam, temporary crystals adorning his eyelashes while remaining indifferent towards his swept-back hair. His lips part, little different from a rose caught in a mizzle. But only quiet ensues. Yves closes his mouth, opens it, closes it again – nothing changes, nothing follows, as if somebody cast a mute spell.
“I –” you try to say something, anything, but your tongue does not seem to obey you either. Malicious magic must it be to affect you as well – or a curse, perhaps, although Yves banishes the thought. He shakes his head, shaking himself free of surprise and any budding resentment directed at himself. You’ve broken his shackles once, your presence is enough to free him again. He wills his throat into submission.
“Has something happened?” His voice comes out more unsure than he’d wish for it to. Nevertheless, it still is enough.
“I called you, but you haven’t replied. I did knock, and you still said nothing, and… Well. Clavis did kidnap you today,” you force out, words dripping from your lips to then become a flood, spilling from you until understanding lights up his eyes. Yves blinks.
“It’s nothing, it was just some flour! Not even eggs,” he blurts out, his voice waning as he becomes aware of the force he has put into the words. He hushes himself down to a murmur, his voice marching on the border between embarrassment and sourness. “I was just a little lost in thoughts.”
A little? Just a little lost, just now? You dare question whether that truly is what he feels, and perhaps you let some of your true thoughts slip. Yves’ cheeks flush.
“Yves?”
“Y-yes?!” he replies, voice hitching again, becoming a little too loud.
You step forward. The tiles are wetted with artificial dew, cold pricking your toes as you approach your love soundlessly, studiously examining his face. “Did Clavis use honey too?”
“Wha – Don’t tell me I haven’t got it out of my hair yet?” His arms lift in despair, water bubbling out a judgement on his brother’s misdeeds. You, however, seem far too pleased with yourself.
“No, I can’t see any there. Would you look at me?”
Blue eyes meet yours, now framed in an even lovelier jewellery than the gems from before; minute crinkles form around them, and you do know Yves is not aware of that much. It is purely instinctual, each crease a pool of his adoration and love.
You cup his cheeks.
Your lips brush against his. Briefly, delicately, as if a butterfly kissed him with its wings. However, a butterfly would not return, would not deepen the caress, would not steal his breath nor would it have its breath stolen – it would not allow itself to be held by wet hands, and neither would it have hair that could get soaked, or any clinging, binding, clothes for that matter. It would not get lost in the act of relishing the rose bloom lips, it would not seek what is past them to satiate its hunger for nectar… And lastly, it would most definitely leave.
But you?
You are not a butterfly.

Muriel, Marquise de Chambrun wearing the tiara.
An extremely rare opal tiara from the family of the Late Jean Pierre François Joseph Pineton de Chambrun, Marquis de Chambrun, Marquis d'Amefreville (1903-2004) and his second wife Muriel.
LONDON.- Dreweatts will offer an extremely rare opal tiara from the family of the Late Jean Pierre François Joseph Pineton de Chambrun, Marquis de Chambrun, Marquis d'Amefreville (1903-2004) and his second wife Muriel, Marquise de Chambrun. Jean Pierre Pineton was the eldest son of French politician and diplomat Charles Louis Antoine Pierre Gilbert Pineton de Chambrun (1865-1954) and his American wife, Margaret Rives Nichols (1872-1949). Jean Pierre married his second wife Muriel in married in 1963 and they spent their 40-year marriage between France, the United States and the Algarve in Portugal.
The de Chambrun family has a prominent history as French politicians in the French Senate and French Chamber of Deputies and were direct descendants of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette (1757-1834), the French aristocrat and army officer who commanded American troops to victory in the American War of Independence. He was also a key figure in the French Revolution in 1789 and the July Revolution of 1830 and served in French parliament. Such was his impact that he was considered a national hero in both countries and gained the title of ‘Hero of Two Worlds’.
Jean Pierre and Muriel toured America lecturing about Lafayette and his role in the American Revolution and War of independence. Muriel also became a celebrated poetess and won several awards including Ohio Poet of the year in 1976 for her book of poems Sudden Spring and an award from Cincinnati University in 1970 for her first book Salisbury Cathedral. Jean Pierre and Muriel were fêted by American society and acknowledged by several American President's including Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and George Bush Junior for their work in promoting Franco-American relations.
Although profoundly deaf, Jean Pierre had studied biochemistry at the Institut Pasteur, and art at the Horace Vernet school. As a member of at the Cercle de l'Union Artistique in France, Jean Pierre became an acclaimed painter and designer of jewellery, wrought iron and crystal for the renowned firm Baccarat. With his background in jewellery, it is thought that the tiara was most probably designed by him. The tiara is exceptionally rare as it is set with opals, hardly ever seen in period tiaras, due to the stone’s fragility and also as some believed that opals held a strange power, that could bring bad luck to its wearer. This superstition was picked up in the British press, however it was eventually dismissed after it was a firm favourite with Queen Victoria, who during her reign owned multiple pieces of jewellery set with opals, which were said to have been the favourite gemstone of her husband, Prince Albert.
“To have a period tiara set with opals is extremely rare, as the opal stone is so fragile, with their composition mainly consisting of water and silica gel”, says Deputy Chairman and International Head of Jewellery, Silver and Watches at Dreweatts. “Of the very few other tiaras set with opals, is the Princess Marie of Denmark opal tiara, an exuberant Art Nouveau creation of large, towering opal set floral sprays. It has not been seen being worn in public since the wedding of King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway in 1968.”
The tiara in the sale is an exuberant piece of mid-20th century jewellery design. Opals are highly attractive stones due to their colour play, as they show all the colours of the rainbow. When rotated in light, one can see different flashes of colour, which are caused by the microscopic silica spheres in the stone. The most sought-after colours are red and green. Opals were traditionally found in Eastern Europe, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. However, in the 1870s, they were discovered in Australia. Since then Australia has contributed to around 90% of the global output of precious opals. The best opals are found in Lightning Ridge, with others come from Queensland and New South Wales. A small percentage of stones also come from Ethiopia, America and Mexico, however these are not as commercially viable as the Australian examples.
The opals found in this stunning tiara are of exceptional quality and we can therefore assume that these originated from Australia.” says James Nicholson. They are set into 18 carat gold scrolled framework, complimented by circular cabochon, circular cut and step cut ruby accents, as well as rose cut and old mine cut diamonds, adding an extra sparkle. Adding to the uniqueness of this particular tiara, it is intended to be worn more like an ‘alice band’ across the middle of the head, rather than at the front. This adds significant height to it, making it a fabulous statement piece.

Getting to Marigold
Chapter Thirteen
Teal, Citrine, Lime
“You’re not my favourite colour.  But I could see you working okay beside my bed at Mommy’s house if you were a blue-ish shade of green.”  Tara was addressing a small antique rug which hung attractively over the rung of a vintage pine quilt holder.  “She’s got too much red in her, don’t you think, Ms. Jeanie?  After all, my comforter is mostly teal with gold swirly lines...”
Jeanie contemplated the rug as seriously as the child had done.
“I think you’re right, kidlet.  Teal and red?  Mmm. Not not so hot a combination.  But you might not want to go with aquamarine, either.  How about picking up your comforter’s golden accents instead?”
“You don’t think that would be kind of—I don’t know—garish?”
“Well, there are golds—and there are golds.  A butterscotch-gold—you know, one with a very warm undertone—might be a mistake.  But a cooler lemon-gold could be just the ticket.”
Tara cocked her head to consider this suggestion and then nodded earnestly.  “I can see that, Ms. Jeanie.”
The May-December window shoppers were having a marvellous time at the indoor antiques and collectibles market.  Long after the rest of their party had retreated to the book and video game stands, Jeanie and Tara were still agreeably absorbed in critiquing the merchandise.
Here, they found a vendor who specialized in milky Depression glassware.  There, one who featured cast iron bulldog doorstops.  And, over here, one whose cases were brimming with vintage crystal perfume flasks.
Of course—since they were purportedly on an educational outing—as soon as they’d arrived, Jeanie and Tara had spent the better part of an hour gazing in fascination at the tightly packed showcases of the Barbie Doll Museum.
Tara had been especially drawn to the fashion designer dolls.  And, after rolling names like Oscar de la Renta, Givenchy and Dior around on her tongue, the little girl had fallen passionately in love with the extravagant Bob Mackie creations.
Opal rhinestones.  Amethyst sequins.  Silver lame…
My gosh.
What wasn’t there to adore about those?
However, as tempting as it had been to purchase one of the fetching Barbies, it had been clearly understood by both Jeanie and Tara that real shopping with actual money for tangible goods was forbidden today.  So, with no prospect of filling up a bag with fashion treasures—and their purses no lighter—they’d eventually turned their attention to the rest of the sales floor.
Strolling casually through the crowded market aisles, the odd-sized pair paused to point out antique furniture that caught their eyes.  They compared tastes in chinaware and vintage jewellery.  And fantasized about where unusual objet d’arts might find a perfect home in their décor.
And—since they were outlawed from buying anything—the price on the tag didn’t matter at all.  So, Tara could speculate about where she might wear an art nouveau citrine and amethyst pendant necklace.  And Jeanie could consider the unblemished mahogany veneer on a nineteenth century chest of drawers.  And neither felt compelled to consult with the respective dealers about either the cost of the jewellery or the machinations needed to deliver such an unwieldy item back home.
Sadly for Jeanie, poignant reminders of Sylvie were everywhere.  Yet, she never mentioned a single memory to Tara.  Today was solely for the little girl’s amusement, she argued to herself.  And it would have been just as wrong to burden Tara with the heartache that the sight of Sylvie’s favourite style of Nova Scotian Chippendale chair awoke in her breast as it would have been to similarly encumber Bernie.
Therefore, Jeanie stayed mum—and she and Tara blissfully prattled on.
Finally, the congenial gal pals came upon the tables filled with jellies, jams and pickles.  But, just as Jeanie and Tara embarked on a lively discussion vis-à-vis the merits of apple butter versus lime curd versus classic strawberry jam, they were rudely interrupted by an ear-splitting shriek.
“Tara! What on earth are you doing here?”
Startled, the little girl and Ms. Jeanie swung around in tandem to witness her mommy bearing down upon them like a runaway freight train.
But Dolores’ headlight glare wasn’t fixed upon her daughter.
Nope.  Not at all.
“Jeanie!  I thought I told you that I didn’t want you taking Tara out shopping!” the outraged woman barked as she rolled up.  “I hope you’re proud of yourself.  You’ve just screwed over Chuckie—but good!  C’mon, Tara,” she snarled, grabbing her daughter’s hand.  “You’re coming home with me!”
“Mommy!” cried Tara, pulling back from her infuriated parent. “We’re not doing anything wrong!”
“Please don’t take this out on Tara and Chuckie,” pleaded Jeanie, putting a restraining hand on Dolores’ arm.
“Back off, Jeanie!” snapped Tara’s mother, shaking her hand away.  “Tara!  C’mon—!”
“No!”  Tara sank to the floor in a flawless imitation of a boneless chicken and lay as one dead.
“Get up!”  Her mother continued to tug at the child’s flaccid arm.
“Dolores!  It’s my fault.  Please leave her alone!” begged Jeanie, as other shoppers muttered and edged away from what was obviously a domestic dispute.
“Dolores?  Tara?” inquired a fourth feminine voice.
Jeanie glanced up to see a woman, perhaps a little older than herself, off-loading a bunch of shopping bags to Tara’s stepfather, Mark.  And, behind them, dashing through the market at a rapid trot, she spotted Chuckie, with Bernie and Don right on his heels.
“What’s going on here?” asked Mark. “Hi Jeanie!  Nice to see you again.”
“Dolores?  Mark?” quizzed Chuckie, pulling up in a cloud of dust.
“Chuckie!” began Dolores, red-hot. “Tara’s being a complete brat!”
“What? Why?” Chuckie squatted down to talk to his kid. “Bugsy, get up.  You’re gettin’ all dirty down here.”
“I’m not getting up ’til Mommy says I can stay!” wailed Tara, still prostrate on the floor.
“Well, they’re closin’ up in a coupla minutes anyhoo—”
“I mean—stay with you, Daddy!  And Ms. Jeanie and Ms. Bernie and Mr. Don—!”
“What?”  Still on the floor with Tara, Chuckie took a big breath and blew it out.  “Dolores, what’s this all about?”
“I told Jeanie that I wouldn’t put up with any more materialistic crap!” Dolores glared from above.  “And here she is out shopping with Tara anyways!”  Taking a firmer grip, she tried once more to haul her unruly daughter upright.
“We weren’t!” howled Tara, losing all muscle tone once more.
“They really weren’t…” echoed Don, with quiet sincerity.
“And, by the way, if it’s so evil to shop—what are you doing here?” asked Bernie, hovering nearby with a saccharine smile.
Her cheeks scarlet with the exertion of tugging on Tara’s dead weight, Dolores refused to even acknowledge this insolent question from Chuckie’s latest squeeze.  “Ta-ra!  Get!  Up!”
“And the fact of the matter is,” explained Jeanie, virtuously, “we came here to visit the Museum.  It’s the only one that’s free.”
“What museum?” snorted Dolores, resentfully giving up her assault on Tara’s arm to face off with Jeanie again.  “There’s no ‘museum’ here!”
“Yes, there is,” interjected the older woman who, by now, had been joined by an older man.  “A Barbie Doll Museum.  Did you enjoy seeing it, Tara?”
“Yes, Gramma K!” exclaimed Tara, almost knocking her mother over as she suddenly bounced to her feet. “It was amazing!  Did you see the beautiful Bob Mackie dolls?”
“Oh, yes!  Weren’t they spectacular, honey?” nodded Tara’s Gramma K. “And did you notice the Christmas collectible dolls in their ballgowns?  So pretty!”
“That’s not a real museum!” objected Dolores.
“Yes, it is!” chorused Tara and her Gramma K.
“It’s says it’s one on the internet,” stated Bernie, blandly exhibiting the entry on her phone screen to Dolores, who clucked her mistrust of the obviously spurious listing in reply.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we’ll be closing in five minutes,” a loudspeaker announcement suddenly blared.  “If you need help with your purchases, please see a vendor for assistance”
“We’d better get a move on, folks,” suggested Don.
“Yep.  Sounds like they’re ready to shutter the bazaar,” said the other older guy.  “I’m Mark’s dad, Allen Boxer, by the way.”  He shook hands with Don and gestured to the woman by his side.  “This is his mom, Kendra.  We drove up on Christmas Eve from Hamilton to hang out with the grandkids for a week or so.”
“Don Todd and Jeanie Dinmont.  Bernie Todd—and you’ve already met Chuckie?” returned Don, shaking hands while indicating who was who.  “I hope it’s not a problem that we’ve got Tara with us until New Year’s—?”
Allen smilingly shook his head, “Not at all.”
“We shared a lovely Christmas Day,” beamed Kendra.
But, “Not any more you haven’t got her!” Dolores overrode her in-laws’ pleasantries.  “I expressly barred Jeanie from—”
“Shush, Baby,” soothed Mark in a low voice.  “You’ve already caused too much of a scene.”
“But she isn’t supposed to—!”
“Okay, okay.”  Mark turned to his stepdaughter.  “Tara, honey, what did you buy?”
“Nothing! We were just looking—!”
“Okay, Tara, you simmer down too,” cautioned Mark.  With a sly nod to the little girl, Mark gave Dolores a sideways hug. “See, Baby?  She’s just been window shopping.  It’s not really the same thing—”
“It’s emphasizing stuff over substance.”  Dolores wasn’t giving up, but she was calming down.
“It’s an outing to an antiques market with her daddy and his girlfriend’s family,” stated Kendra, calmly.  “Seriously, Dolores, there’s no reason to get your knickers in a twist.”
“But material junk is all this woman cares about—”
“No, it’s not,” stated Bernie, flatly.  “In fact, my mom’s absolutely a people person.”
“Yeah,” agreed Don. “So much so, she’s determined to put on a huge family reunion next summer where—for our sins—we’re going to be sporting plus-fours and flapper skirts all week long.”
“Not forgettin’ that supa-cool Roarin’ Twenties play she’s got Lindy pennin’ for it.  Starrin’ moi and my band o’ merry thespians!” added Chuckie, with a theatrical bow to Tara who giggled and bowed dramatically back.
“Well, if it’s as good as the one we saw you in last summer, it’ll be hilarious!” grinned Allen.  “Can we get in on this reunion thing?”
With her family rallying around her, Jeanie felt heartened enough to answer honestly.  “I’m afraid you’d have to—”  But the jam and jelly vendor cut her short with a gruff, “You guys need anything else?”
“We’ll take a jar of the apple butter—and a lime curd, Tara?—and one of the strawberry, please,” requested Bernie.
“Is that okay, Dolores?” asked Jeanie, archly.  “They’re consumables.  Not something that’ll clutter up a shelf.  And we’ll be sure to recycle the jars.”
“If you guys hadn’t—” responded Tara’s mommy, stiffly.
“Oh, please don’t worry about Dolores,” broke in Mark, with a smile. “She’s a just teensy bit cranky today because it’s the first time she’s left our twins with a sitter.”
“I am not cranky! And I—” bristled Dolores, but it was pretty clear that she was on the verge of tears.
“You, Baby, you are going to say bye-bye to your daughter and the nice folks,” broke in Mark again.  “And we’ll see Tara on New Year’s Day, just like we planned.”
“That really would be for the best,” agreed Kendra.
“Mm-hm,” nodded Allen, tapping his watch significantly.
So, Dolores—still looking as if she didn’t agree at all with this course of events but was unreasonably outnumbered by the people who did—muttered, “Bye, Tara…” and suffered herself to be drawn off by Mark and his parents.  Who merrily waved and smiled “Bye!” to Tara and the others as they left.
“You need a bag?” asked the jam and jelly vendor, handing Bernie change for a twenty-dollar bill.
“No, thanks,” said Bernie, tucking the jars into the side of a large cloth sack.
“You bought something else?” asked Jeanie, surprised.
“Just a video game,” smiled Bernie.
“It’s a classic,” nodded Chuckie.
“That’s a big bag for just one video game,” said Jeanie, eyeing the bulging sack suspiciously.
“Not if there’s a cool crazy quilt an’ a bedside lamp for me in it too,” laughed Chuckie.  “Here, Cutie.  Let me make like a Sherpa an’ haul that load.”  And, taking the bag, he gestured for Bernie and Don to proceed him to the car.
“So—” Tara’s major pout from earlier was reclaiming her face.  “Ms. Bernie and Daddy get to buy jam and a quilt and a video game and a lamp?  And I don’t get to buy anything?”
“No,” returned Jeanie, cheerfully. “But I’ve got a couple of belated Christmas presents for you to open in my craft room when we get home.”
“Oh,” said Tara, her expression clearing instantly. “Is one of them a kit to make jewellery with?”
“That would be telling,” said Jeanie, but her answering smile gave her small friend more than just a little hope that it might be so…

Dreweatts is delighted to offer an extremely rare opal tiara from the family of the Late Jean Pierre François Joseph Pineton de Chambrun, Marquis de Chambrun, Marquis d’Amefreville (1903-2004) and his second wife Muriel, Marquise de Chambrun.
Jean Pierre and Muriel were fêted by American society and acknowledged by several American President’s including Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and George Bush Junior for their work in promoting Franco-American relations.
Although profoundly deaf, Jean Pierre had studied biochemistry at the Institut Pasteur, and art at the Horace Vernet school. As a member of at the Cercle de l’Union Artistique in France, Jean Pierre became an acclaimed painter and designer of jewellery, wrought iron and crystal for the renowned firm Baccarat.
“The opals found in this stunning tiara are of exceptional quality and we can therefore assume that these originated from Australia.” says James Nicholson. It is estimated to fetch of £12,000-£18,000 when it goes under the hammer in Dreweatts Fine Jewellery, Silver Watches and Object of Vertu sale on March 22, 2023.
Opal tiaras are extremely rare, and only one other tiara set with opals is known. The Princess Marie of Denmark opal tiara was an exuberant Art Nouveau creation of large, towering opal set floral sprays. The tiara was re-set by Princess Marie's daughter-in-law Princess Viggo, into a simpler diadem. This opal diadem was passed down to the Count and Countess Flemming of Rosenborg, and has not been seen being worn in public since it was last worn at the wedding of King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway in 1968.
The present lot is an exuberant piece of mid 20th century jewellery design. Although unmarked, it is probably made in Northern Italy, and with his background in jewellery, it is likely that it was designed by Jean Pierre.
Opals are rarely found in tiaras due to the fragility of the stone, with their composition mainly made up of water and silica gel. They are highly prized due to their colour play, showing all the colours of the rainbow. When rotated in light, one can see different flashes of colour, which are caused by the microscopic silica spheres in the stone. The most sought after colours are red and green.

A small percentage of stones also come from Ethiopia, America and Mexico, however these are not as commercially viable as the Australian examples.
The opals found in the present lot are of exceptional quality, and so we can be fairly certain that these originated from Australia. They are set into 18 carat gold scrolled framework, complimented by circular cabochon, circular cut and step cut ruby accents, as well as rose cut and old mine cut diamonds, adding an extra sparkle.Adding to the uniqueness of this tiara, it is intended to be worn more like an alice band across the middle of the head, rather than at the front. This adds significant height to it, making it a real statement piece.

Use of Brooches: * Brooches, once a mainstay of every woman’s wardrobe, now come and go for many in the same manner as other jewelry trends. It is, however, easy to make a positive case for this sophisticated piece of jewelry. It is, after all, more versatile than any other jewellery item. Brooches can be used the standard way: as an accessory to fashion. But that is by no means their only use. They can also be used on clothing accessories as well as in the hair. * * Purchase one or more brooches, if they are not readily on hand. * * Use the brooch on clothing. Attach a brooch to the high neckline of a blouse, dress or jacket. Use one or more brooches (in a cluster) on the lapel of a suit jacket or place one or more on the shoulder of a jacket or dress. Pin several small brooches over the buttons of a blouse or dress to liven up the clothing or show off a collection. Try using smaller pins as a substitute for cuff links on a blouse by just pinning the brooch over the cuff's button. * * Hook a brooch through a “magna pin.” This converts the brooch to a magnetic closure, thereby doing away with the need to stick the pin part of the brooch into fabrics that could otherwise be damaged by the process. This makes it simple to use the brooch on heavy fabrics like boiled wool, suede or leather. * * Utilize the brooch to help securely attach an accessory to clothing such as a scarf, a shawl or a shrug. * * Attach a brooch to a hat to feminize it or give it a touch of pizzazz. * * Pin one or more brooches onto a handbag or clutch to convert a daytime look to evening chic. Use a magna pin for heavier fabrics, suedes and leathers. * * Convert a brooch to a pendant by attaching it directly to a thick necklace chain, omega or collar. Hook a pin over a string of beads or double them up, pulling them together around the neck. Close with a brooch to create a unique choker. * * Use a pin converter to turn a brooch into a standard necklace pendant. * * Turn a brooch into a piece of hair jewelry. Attach a pin to a headband. Using wire or thread, attach a brooch to a hair comb or barrette. Run the pin of a brooch through the elastic of a ponytail holder for a top knot accent piece. Attach a brooch directly to the hair (or a wig). * * Good use on Indian Sarees, suits, dresses and dupattas etc. * * Used to tie and decorate wedding/parties chair clothes on the back of chairs. * * Excellent to decorate Christmas presents and gifts. * * It can either be used on the top of invitation cards/letters for wedding parties, birthday parties, evening parties or casual invitations. This will certainly give a posh look to your invitations. * * It can be used for the decoration of Wedding, Birthday and Anniversary Cakes. * * If you know any other use of brooches please let us know and we will share these ideas with our privileged customers. Thank you in advance. * Please do not forget to add us to your favourite sellers list and keep looking at our listings, we are going to launch a wide range of brooches and a big variety of SMART Fashions Jewellery for parties and evening wear very soon.
