State of the Tumblr

I haven’t played Erianby since early February, and unfortunately my queue is all run out! I am back to working and studying (this will be my last year of my Masters, my second one, no more study for a long time!) and I’ve been working on a new concept for a ‘hood.

For a long time, I have dabbled with the idea of a proper Warwickshire Renaissance Challenge, encompassing all the detail of the challenge, including tax/education/health systems, moral character, ethical alignment, and all the other nitty gritty bits that I always thought were too hard to implement. I’m looking forward to some deeper, more fleshed out characters, rather than having super nice Sims, who all love their kids and play nice with everyone!

I also like the idea of the Crown of Laurels Challenge, with each province having their own regional specialities. However, instead of having all provinces located in the same neighbourhood, each one is it’s own sub ‘hood.

Soooo, at some stage I will be introducing Tamryth. Elder Scrolls inspired, Tamryth is the continent/country in which my world is based, located on the planet Nim.

Myrthspire- Main ‘Hood

Royal residence and castle town. Also contains the University and Military Barracks. Home to the Imperial Royal family, but Sims of all races reside here

Seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter

Trading: Luxury goods such as foreign textiles, exotic spices, quality armour, precious gems, jewellery etc. Major port city where most trade to overseas locations occurs.

SC4 Terrain: Anvil City by tulipfera. I will be adding in the extra yellow roads in SC4.

Farhollow- Sub ‘Hood

Forest Province. Home to Nords and Bosmer

Seasons: Spring, Autumn, Autumn, Winter

Trading: Lumber, woodworking,coopering, hogs, grain, forraged goods, wild animals, tanned leather, cured fur

SC4 Terrain: Pippanstad by @nimitwinklesims

Darkmont- Sub ‘Hood

Mountain Province. Home to Imperials and rumored to be home to a clan of vampires

Seasons: Spring-Autumn-Winter-Winter

Trading: Quarried stone, mined ores, smithing, goats, cheese

SC4 Terrain: Not sure yet, as I’m yet to find a mountain-y map that I’m happy with. I may make my own

Earthdrift- Sub ‘Hood

Plains Province. Home to Bretons and Altmer

Seasons: Spring-Summer-Summer-Autumn

Trading: Fruit, vegetables, honey, wax candles, sheep, weaving, cows, cheese, herbs, horses

SC4 Terrain: Greylings by @nimitwinklesims

Brittleshore- Sub ‘Hood

Coastal Province. Home to Redguard and Dunmer

Seasons: Spring, Spring, Summer, Autumn

Trading: Fish, salt, basket weaving, ducks, geese

The Vacation Districts

Mountain ‘Hood, as yet unnamed

Home to Orsimer, based on Orsinium

Seasons: Winter, Winter, Winter, Winter

Trading: Arctic animals/pelts/fur, mined goods

SC4 Terrain: Upper River by @voleste

Far East ‘Hood, as yet unnamed

Home to Khajiit, based on Elsweyr

Seasons: Spring, Summer, Spring, Summer

Trading: Exotic herbs, spices, fruits, & vegetables, rice, ‘Persion’/’Far East’ style clothing and furnishings

SC4 Terrain: Le Saline by @voleste

Tropical ‘Hood, as yet unnamed

Home to Argonians, based on Black Marsh

Seasons: Summer, Summer, Summer, Summer

Trading: Tropical/New World herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables

I also may end up adding a custom Downlown, where supernatural and outcasts live, and may decide to add another sub ‘hood to use as a university district (although it won’t be a proper university ‘hood.

Am I being too ambitious? Maybe. But I’m keen to see where this goes, although I don’t anticipate it being ready for many, many months!
