So I was thinking about making a take on a "Shamura is The One Who Waits" AU and then before I knew it I had made a whole ass vessel oc for it.

So here's Viola, aka The Moth!

Is there any Deep Lore* of your AU that you feel like sharing? *Deep Lore being lore of things like greater cosmology or the likes that, whilst not at all being needed to understand the story, never the less still exists and has some sort of impact on the events of the story.

Absolutely there is!

Some snippets that I probably won’t ever write about at length, but are nonetheless a Thing:

The Official Story of how the Bishops’ reign began is that the four eldest siblings ambushed, trapped, and killed the god Grand Mancer. Shamura struck the killing blow, and therefore claimed the god’s Crown and ascended first. However, that’s a lie. Narinder struck the final blow, though very much by chance. Shamura decided the lie would be easier for the followers to comprehend.

Hamal is descended directly from this AU’s version of The Fanatic. The Fanatic is a ram who died in a raid on his village, which also resulted in the death of his wife and son. Unbeknownst to him, his other lamb, a daughter, survived by chance. She was taken in by other sheep and raised with them. From her line came Hamal’s mother, Una.

In the Red Star AU, the Crowns are sentient but not in the way they seem to be in canon. Each Crown holds a piece of the First God that forged it initially— and a small piece of every god that wore it afterwards. It “stores” a bit of their mind/soul into an unconscious hivemind that dwells in the Crown, so that no Crownbearer’s skill or knowledge is ever fully lost. This is why Narinder is still able to see through the Red Crown if he meditates; a tiny part of him is still inside of it.

The Red Star AU still has seasons because the god of seasons, Ygnya, was one of the first to recognize that Shamura wasn’t going to stop purging gods, regardless of their roles. She put herself into a hibernation that kicked the seasons onto “auto-pilot,” though this means each season is milder/not as fully in balance as they used to be. Shamura wanted to kill Yngya because they blamed her for the harsh winters they endured with their family as mortals, but was unable to do so due to Ygnya’s foresight.

Hope these little tidbits are interesting! I also have a list of things that are also canon but not super relevant to the story at all, so let me know if anyone’s interested in those.

Hello Faery, I love the way your doing the Redo Au. The two clowns are dynamic in what they do and it but I do have two questions about it.

1. Does the cult still do things like sacrificing members or butchering the old, or at least, how did your version of Lambert run things

2. Does the crown/Lambert need sacrifices or cause death to stay ‘powered’ for lack of a better term due to Grumpy Cats domain

But a little correction here: my AU is called Mercy gone wrong or MGW for short, not Redo :">

In my AU Lambert is trying to be more on a peaceful and pacifist side, focusing more on keeping the community stable and loyal to him instead of trying to gain power as quickly as possible.

And there are two reasons for it: one is based on how I imagine the sheep community to work and how it influenced Lambert's mindset; and second being that Lambert, besides freeing Narinder, had his own plans for a long run.

So his doctrine choices are looking like this:

(Please mind that I wasn't basing it on an actual game experience, but on how I imagining MGW Lambert's choices would look like)

However, there were some moments when Lambert did sacrificed some people, but those times were an exceptions.

As for staying "powered", no, he doesn't need sacrifices for it. The Crown is the power source itself and, as I showed in my latest comic, Lambert only needs to sleep to renew his energy. The sacrifices are needed for the crownbearer to become stronger and more adjusted to the Red Crown's power, not for the Crown itself.

And since now it's Narinder who wears the Crown — the guy who owned it for thousands of years and knows the majority of it's abilities, nuances and limits some of which Lambert isn't even aware of — there is no actual need in sacrifices

COTL x UT: Asriel Crownbearer AU

In this AU, the Dreemurrs were royalties and had their own kingdom. The Dreemurrs knew about the Bishops' Goat genocide because did nothing due to their pacifist nature. Asriel wanted to save the goats but ended up getting his parents killed leading to his kingdom's downfall. After the fall, Asriel became not only the only surviving Dreemurr but also the last goat in the world. Due to the guilt of his action, he was led to believe the mindset of "Kill or Be Killed" as he was getting executed by the Bishop. Since Asriel is the last goat, Narinder chose him to be his disciple and the Crownbearer.

There are also other Undertale characters in this AU!

Undyne in this AU originally started off as Kallamar's follower, but after seeing the goat genocide, she quits his cult due to her huge sense of justice. She later meets Asriel during his crusade and becomes one of his most loyal followers vowing to avenge the deaths of the goats and his parents. Since she was trained by Kallamar, she has been a skillful fighter and become the head guard of the cult.

Sans & Papyrus

The skeleton brothers are merchants in Anura.

They sell hot dogs(not good), spaghetti(not good), and miscellaneous items you can find in a convenience store(don't ask how).

Sans deliberately doesn't join ANY cult in the Lands of the Old Faith while Papyrus is tempted to join Asriel's cult.

For some reason, the Crown cannot mindread Sans and Papyrus. However, Asriel doesn't really need mindread to mindread Papyrus.

Like the original, Papyrus becomes good friends(mutuals at least) with Asriel and admires Undyne.

Muffet

She is a follower of Shamura and a high-ranked enforcer.

After Alphys left and joined Asriel, Muffet hated her and deemed her a traitor.

Monster Kid

They followed Undyne to the cult as she recused them from the Bishops' cultists during a holy quest.

Just like the original, they admired Undyne more than the king(Asriel in this case).

Temmie

Temmies lives in Temmie Village.

Temmies worship Temmie.

Temmie is Temmie.

Temmie is Life.

Temmie please put down the knife.

Saladpants (Burgerpants/Pizzapants)

He works as a waiter at Rakshasa's restaurant.

Everyone at the restaurant kept calling him "Saladpants" as he always served them the restaurant's top-selling dish "Beetroot Salad". (Rakashasa's dishes were shown in Jalala's Journal)

They were a demon by a demonic summoning.

They forgot who and why were summoned

They have been wandering around the lands for quite some time.

Enforcer Guardian 01 & Enforcer Guardian 02 (Royal Guard 01 & Royal Guard 02)

These two men are enforcers of the Old Faith.

Just like the original, EG01 has a HUGE crush on EG02.

Don't worry, these lovers won't die. They ended up joining Asriel, probably mostly because of Undyne.

Asriel Crownbearer AU: Alphys

TW // Su*c*de (which was in the CANON Undertale btw)

Alphys in this AU used to be Shamura's follower. However, after assisting in the Bishops' goat genocide, she was unable to handle the guilt of all those deaths that were caused partly by her hands. Feeling remorse, she attempted to drown herself at Anchordeep. Fortunately, she was rescued by Undyne during her nostalgic visit at Anchordeep. Undyne later brings her to the cult which leads her to meet Asriel. Alphys is willing to let the prince kill her as she has the blood of his people on her hands, but he spares her as she is just a mere follower who was only given the option of "Kill or Be Killed". After having Asriel's mercy, she remains one of his most loyal followers despite the still-awkward relationship they have.

And of course, Alphys and Undyne are still girlfriends!!
