And if you follow the lore that the crown was magic that forced everyone to follow its rules, then that means Gem was able to resist a multi-empire extremely powerful semi-sentient (it had to be able to exert a will to make them obey, and to have a will you need to be at least somewhat conscious) Gem is CRAZY powerful
