Clone x OC Week Day 6 : What if... (Late Entry)

What if...?

It was like being in another world.

Every window was framed by an ocean of deep green trees, waves of them rolling over the mountains and valleys. Clouds dipped low enough to kiss the tops of the pines before fading away in a golden mist as the last rays of light danced off them. In the center of it all, so unconnected, unplugged from Coruscant and deadlines and the beeping notifications of her datapad, Solé stood. The fire tower had been dilapidated and derelict the first season Crosshair had shown it to her. It had been a show of faith, that he trusted her not to shatter the fragile peace he had carved out for himself bit by bit after leaving the GAR. They had restored it, board by board. What was once a tower standing on its lasts legs stood proudly above the treetops in the forests outside of Naboo. Solé gave herself a few more minutes to stare out at the beauty, scanning the horizon for any tell tale signs of smoke, before turning back towards the center of the small room. It served as their home part of the year every year now.

Author's Note: This is a snippet from an AU that lives rent free in my mind but may never fully make its way onto paper in which Crosshair is a recovering veteran with a prosthetic hand who isolates himself from the world as much as possible and Solé is a travel writer/photographer who refuses to let him be a hermit!

Clone X OC Week Masterlist
