simon lee, who was standby props on the film is selling some of the props he's had in storage. i purchased the vegetable and meat fliers (including chris marlowe's betrayal note on the back of one--that bit was a surprise!), the 'bill' from the bull inn (because that joke is SO stupid but never fails to make me lol), and juan's throwing crosses. tbh i was a little crushed that gabriel's dagger had already been sold lol, i would have been ALL OVER that.

Winter

lifty and shifty push their beds together and huddle for warmth during the nights when the heat in their apartment doesnt work. it doesnt help much. when they move in with splendont, they learn that he has a lot of body heat and with the house being heated and them sleeping with one of them on each side of him, their heads on his chest and cuddled close, they have their first comfortable winter night in years. warm. safe. secure. happy.

my version of lifty and shifty shouldnt have been forced to steal to survive at 11 years old they should have been reading warrior cats like the rest of us autistic kids

splendont buys the twins animal crissing new horizons alongsuse switches. he asks them about it. lifty has played the game normally. shifty has not paid the first nook miles debt and has focused entirely on making money.

i had this thought when i first concepted their backstory bc i had a very brief earthbound + mother 3 phase but splendont and the twins finish earthbound and he tells them that he hasn't played mother 3 but hes heard good things about and they play the fan translation.

'oh huh they're twins. haha lets name the characters after our family!" says lifty, naming lucas after himself, klaus after shifty, hinawa after their dead mom, and flint after their father who was very much impacted by the death of their mother

35 or so hours of gameplay later, the emotional damage levels are out of this fucking world.

The Worst Sims 4 Save (cq for. vague nsfw mentions)

the other day i made splendont and the twins (and splendid) in the sims 4 with wicked whims installed and also plopped down an old shizaya household i made and had shifty go visit them. he stole 3 things, did not not hit it off great with izaya (but found them both attractive) and then proceeded to mess around on their tablet while they got freaky. shizuo THEN proceeded to start a fire on the grill only for shifty to put it out. then he went home.

shifty also liked to kick the trash can when he got angry (i gave him the hot headed trait) and bc lifty and splendont kept getting playful (listen i ran out of ideas - i gave lifty a custom traits that gave him a constant sad moodlet and another negative one so i replaced that with playful and i gave splendont one that made him playful around his loved ones) so they kept fucking playing in the trash. they were also insatiable (to be fair i had it turned on high a while for the hell of it and was constantly running romantic actions to try and fix relationship satisfaction) but god damn. it was basically either flirty, playful (for lifty and splendont), angry (for shifty), or sad (for lifty, though he sometimes got a fine or tense moodlet). i ended up stopping playing the save file bc it was too hard trying to balance two romantic satisfaction bars and making them stop getting freaky to go to work (shifty was unemployed but dont and lifty had jobs) even tho i was using cheats

getting freaky doesnt really help the satisfaction btw and it just interrupted a lot of my flirting actions so having it on high didnt really work the way i was hoping

Shifty's Hobby

FFXIV AU Starting Guilds

whats arguably funny about the twins quitting their starting guilds is that

1. the lvl 15 archer quest is when silvaire stops trying to get the wol expelled from the guild and just doesnt want to really show he accepts their skill. shifty still throws a tantrum n breaks the bow and quits.

2. the level 15 pugilist quest is when hamom reveals he isnt as good as he used to be bc hes old and chuchuto asks the wol to help him regain his passion. and then lifty has to awkwardly tell her that this is Not for him.

FFXIV AU: The Office

Twitter is an evil website but it enriches my life through the many connections I've made and continue to make because of it. I'd be a lonelier person without it. Not in the terminally online twitter user way, but in that I would have fewer friends that I have met in person. I may be gaining an audience on YouTube, but that site literally got rid of its DMs. You can't talk to people. I rarely make connections on BSKY because while it may be a more sane site in a lot of ways, there's not much reason for anyone to discover me there.

So I cross-post, except for posts that are incompatible with one or the other. It's whatever. I do not seek to use Twitter in the drama-hungry way that it wants me to, and I wish people would stop being weirdly obsessive about me there, and by extension, here. I mostly just wanna click on art.

New Fediverse Bluesky bridge in beta testing

The bridge has been built and the switch has been turned on! Even though there was a lot of struggle and strife, arguments, and knockdown-drag-outs, @snarfed.org, AKA Ryan Barrett persevered by taking into account everyone’s opinions on what a cross-fediverse bridge between the ActivityPub powered landscape dominated by Mastodon and the ATProto protocol that powers BlueSky. It’s important to many people including myself that all networks in what I call the Open Social Media Services (OpenSNS) collection of decentralized federated networks be able to talk and interact with each other; else we might as well just go on creating big-ass tech silos that eventually will wall people off based on pre-existing factors like ethnicity, geography, culture at best and/or consolidate power to just one group of people or companies at worse. But I’ve talked ad-nauseam about this in other postings already; it’s time to talk about how this thing works!

1️⃣ Getting ready to cross

Whether you’re coming from ActivityPub/Mastodon and friends or ATProto/Bluesky, the first part is the same: You need to follow the bot that will register your OpenSNS username with Bridgy’s servers. This will count as an intent on your part that you wish your posts to be popped over to the other side.

For 🐘 ActivityPub accounts interacting with 🦋 ATProto, follow @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gyand your user page is https://fed.brid.gy/ap/@[username]@[server name].[tld]

For ATProto accounts interacting with 🐘 ActivityPub, follow `@ap.brid.gy. 🚧 At some point there’s going to be a message that will also let you know you’ve done this right after you registered, but for now, just head over to your new user page manually:

🐘 for ActivityPub users, your bridged ATproto username is @[username.server.tld].bsky.brid.gy

🦋 for ATProto users, your bridged ActivityPub username is @[username]@bsky.brid.gyand you can find your new user page at https://fed.brid.gy/bsky/[username]

2️⃣ Let’s hop across the bridge

At this point things should be up and running and you really don’t have to do much; the system will poll somewhere between every 5~10 minutes looking for new posts to translate to the other side from you. Of course it’s in early beta right now, so it’s polling whenever Ryan gets around to it while he makes changes and works out the kinks. I recommend having an account on your target SNS site just so you can see the output and make sure it shows up correctly. There’s also a handy RSS output in your Bridgy userpage that you can subscribe to and keep track of things as well. It’s a simple bridge really– you post in one place and it translates and posts it in the other place. If you get activity on that post in the other place, it rolls back to you wherever you are.

3️⃣ Following across the bridge

If you want to follow someone else in the other place, you need to know how their username translates just as in 1️⃣ above. Here’s some examples:

You’re a Mastodon user wanting to follow my Bluesky account @starrwulfe.xyz, then you need to search for @starrwulfe.xyz@bsky.brid.gy in your user search engine on Mastodon or in the app, just you’d do for a normal user.

You’re a Bluesky user wanting to follow my Mastodon account @starrwulfe@social.vivaldi.net, then you need to search for @starrwulfe.social.vivald.net.ap.brid.gy in the Bluesky users search field.

4️⃣ Construction Notices

This is a very early beta. I outlined the core feature set, but there are some such as more interactive onboarding and opt-in notices that aren’t in production yet. Also polling is being done manually by Ryan as he works out kinks in the program and scales things up. Expect lots of changes in the next few weeks as use cases roll in and traffic is shaped. You can be a part of the process though by filing issue comments on the Github for the project:

I’d like to thank Ryan for taking the time out of his… well life really. Bridgy has been a free service he’s operated to enable the crossposting across different social media and blogs since 2017. This blog is half powered by it whenever someone comments via Bluesky and Mastodon! He charges $0 and while he insists it’s a negligible cost to keep the infrastructure up, his rapid response to problems and ability to chat about how it works anytime has gotta be a serious time weight, passion project or not. This endeavor is very much appreciated and highly valued by me and lots more, I’m sure. 🙇🏾‍♂️
