Crochet Checkers and Mushroom Tote Bag
Check out this whimsical Crochet Checkers and Mushroom Bag. Pretty unusual and generous to hold a crochet bag. Life is too short to be the same as everyone else. This is done in tapestry crochet techniques that partially hide the colour to form the checkers you see. The mushroom is done as a motif, in the end, to add on. If you don’t enjoy the mushroom, don’t do it. You are the artist to decide…

Happy hobbit day!! Today I have been pretty tired. I slept very well, but my I guess having to commute is draning a lot of energy from me. I did struggle a bit to stay focused in class, but we touched interesting subjects, and I can confirm I like the way this professor carries the lectures. He did finish a bit later than usual which for me meant missing my bus and having to wait an additional 50 minutes. I phoned my mom to have a chat and pass the time and walked around, and I ended up buying this amazing ghost mug. It's smaller than what I would normally go for, but it's a great addition to my small collection. When I got home I also went to my herbalitst's shop to get a couple of teas i had run out of (and there of course I saw a bunch of other beautiful mugs and I want them all).
Cozy hobbit activities and productivity:
Read first thing in the morning
Packed some lunch before leaving the house
Listened to podcasts during my commute
Had a walk to go to uni and back
3 hour English lit lecture
Got my new beloved mug (i was also looking for a ghost themed tote bag but unfortunately I couldn't find it)
Daily duolingo Irish practice
Highlighted today and yesterday's notes
Crocheting my mushroom cardigan (I am considering packing a ball of yarn in my school bag to crochet a bit on the bus but I haven't tested yet)
Drinking a tea (as I write this) in my new mug under a blanket because my room is freezing
📖: A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
#in the hopes that today's post won't have typos#said hopes are very low because i can truly feel my brain struggling rn#i risked falling so much today i miss understood several things and more#in conclusion i am tired your honor#studyblr#studyinspo#studying#student life#notes#handwritten notes#uniblr#university#productivity#cozy hobbit autumn#journal#journaling#knife gang#mine#the---hermit

Starlight Express but it's a Farmer's and Craft Market au! I've been rotating the idea around in my head for a few days now (and shared it in some servers!) There are a lot of (mostly) friendly rivalries going on between the vendors. They also barter and trade goods amongst each other!
Here's a map of the general layout of the stalls:
The two stalls on the top row directly to the right of Momma and Rusty were empty for a long time until Pearl started vending in the neighboring stall. About a week later, Electra set up shop.
I've also listed the stall types for each character under the cut (if you can't read my chicken scratch lol)!
Rusty and Momma- Your standard homegrown produce, Momma specializes in chicken and duck eggs
Greaseball- Cured meats, jerky, and BBQ sauce. His younger sister steps in to run his stall sometimes >:)
Electra- Spice blends and dried herbs
Pearl- Handcrafted jewelry
Dinah- Baked goods and jams
Buffy and Ashley- Honey, beeswax, and syrup
Carrie- Handmade bags (totes, handbags, coin purses, etc)
Brandi- Homebrewed beer and mead
Tassita- Succulents, stationary, and greeting cards. He also does custom calligraphy
Memphis Belle and Bonnie (Belle Jr.)- Quilts and crocheted crafts. Bonnie specializes in making plushies
Dustin- Polished and painted rocks
Flat Top- Sometimes he makes miniature sculptures out of welded nuts and bolts to sell at Dustin's stall. He's mostly there just to hang out with Dustin and get free jerky samples
Rockies- Pottery and custom mugs
CB- Foraged mushrooms (are they edible? Who knows...)
BV- He runs a shell game where he can rip people off
Slick- Gourmet olive oil
Porter and Lumber- Woodburn art. Lumber also does whittling on the side
Hydra- He's not a vendor, but he really wants to form a partnership with Rusty and show him Hydroponic Gardening
Wrench- Upcycled furniture
Volta and Joule- Soap, bath bombs, and candles
Purse and Krupp- Flowers
Killerwatt- He doesn't have a stall, he assists Electra
Zero- Smoothie stand (in a food truck set-up)
Espresso and Bobo- Wine and cheese (they used to have separate stalls until their rivalry turned into romance)
Coco- Handcrafted jewelry (uh oh, Pearl's got a rival)
Turnov- Knit goods (scarves, mittens, hats, etc.)
Ruhrgold- Artisan bread
Hashamoto- Assorted produce and (edible) mushrooms
Brexit- Fancy tea blends
#not to toot my own horn but i think this au is very cute and cozy :)#please feel free to send asks if you want to know more!!#starlight express#stex aus#stex farmers market au#stex craft market au

Come on a little day trip with me!
Sometimes during summer we always visit our distant relatives who beautifully renovated my maternal grandma's childhood home. The couple who lives there now is so sweet and they also have a bunch of adorable cats!! So, it's always a good time when we visit them.
They made sure to preserve parts of the original structure, for example the foyer's stone floor is still using the original floors that were laid down inside the entrance of the farmhouse! Their builders excavated all the stones, cut them to the same thickness (they were all wonky beforehand) and carefully replaced them in the same pattern (marked beforehand). The living room includes the wall that used to be in the cow's quarters. (There was an addition made.) I love all the old and original details that have been preserved and lovingly enhanced!
For day trips I always like to come prepared and lay all my things out on the table, so I can see that I've though of everything and will want for nothing! For this little trip I'm going both ways per train, so I brought things to keep me entertained on my journey as well.
Unfortunately I only found little sleep before this particular trip and used my train journey for napping instead of knitting or reading... but well, I was prepared at least!
[id] Pic 1: A spread of things that could be needed for a day trip: a light purple backpack to store all the things in, a purple triangle scarf with fringe and a braided decoration, a golden crocheted shrug, a pair of golden coloured heart earrings on a piece of cardboard with an ear printed on it, a light blue pouch with a raccoon on it (has a lil hairbrush in it), a pastel-turquoise and white coloured scarf with a geomgetrical pattern on it, as well as flowers and butterflies, a dark green tote with silver coloured foerst animals and mushrooms printed on it (containing knitting stuff), a big water flask with a galaxy print on it in purples and pinks, a pouch with a very light pink fabric on top and white curdoury with red flowers at the bottom (holds granola bars and candy - think emergency snacks!), a green patterned chubby pouch, a slim dark green pouch, a schedule that says "Der Wille war da, aber ich hab ihn wieder weggeschickt" (translated from the german: "the will was here, but i've sent him away" which was a funny christmas present from my mum, a folded up fan and a novel ("The long earth" by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter) You can also see a sand-coloured little shoulder bag, the perfect addition to store vablubles in combination with the big backpack for all the other stuff. [/id]
[id]Pic 2: A close-up of a young, fat, white woman with glasses and a long brown braid sitting on a train. You can see multiple dark-blue covered chairs behind her, like they are typically found on trains. It's a bit chilly thanks to the train's air conditioning and thus the woman is wearing the golden crocheted shrug over her pink-and-purple dress. In the close up you can also see her bronze-coloured pentagram necklace. [/id]
[id] A young, fat, white woman with glasses and a long brown braid over her shoulder is posing happily in her relative's garden. The picture of her is mirrored, so she seems to be posing with her identical twin and the part of the house visible behind her forms into a little cottage. She's wearing a long handmade dress, made from pink (a colour like raspberry icecream) and bright purple linen. The purple bodice has silver metallic thread in the fabric and the pink skirt part (which is cut like a circle skirt, but without the pointy bits cut off) has golden metallic threads. You can't really see them well in the picture, only some shine and glinting to the dress. The pink skirt has a purple cotton underskirt. You can see she's wearing a necklace but don't really recognize what kind. Cream/sand-coloured sandals with cut-out details in the leather strips finish off the outfit. [/id]

anyone please look at my Nijntje and his outfits on my blog. i've also made a carrier that goes on my tote bag and so far in less than a week she's been on 2 walks around the "block" and 1 trip to the grocery store and 1 trip to the mall with a friend
and she has like 7 clothing items so far :)) nothing to get you crocheting fast like impeding exams
this is him picnicking! (the beret is mushroom themed)
this is all to say. handshake emoji. Nijntje has brought me a lot of joy this exam season and i will bring her everywhere, at least for a while
I was a low verbal autistic kid that used plushies to communicate with people, and boy howdy did teachers/adults in general not like that past a certain age. Jokes on u fukkos, cool people absolutely adore seeing plushies just hangin out

doing every crochet project under the sun that doesn’t involve granny squares so i can avoid learning them
#i’m currently making a mushroom backpack#i have tried 2 times to learn a granny square and the first time i got through the whole tutorial and at one of the ends it was longer?#idk how i did that fr#and the second time i got like 20 minutes in and gave up#i just cannot grasp how they work and how to do it#it’s too many holes to remember okay#(that’s what he said)#i think because i picked up everything else in crochet really quickly#and since i wasn’t immediately good at granny squares i got frustrated lmao#that’s the only reason this hobby has stuck around! because i picked it up fast!#i wanna make a granny square tote bag but alas#i might try to learn one of the other types of granny squares first bc it seems easier lmao#also! sorry for no content on this blog recently#i’ve been spending almost all day outside crocheting#and when i do play sims i do gameplay and post it on my gameplay blog#but! i am getting a little tan!#it’s mot much bc i don’t tan easy but there are tan lines which makes me feel good akshja#ivy rambles
