I made it my mission (1 year ago) to watch anime with characters who are often compared to William by other fans. Because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about.
The characters would be Dostoevsky and Light Yagami
So now that I've finally watched both anime, I'm a little disappointed
I am not policing anyone's opinions and comparisons, it makes no sense. Do your thing, if it makes you happy. But .... it's shallow

I was thinking about how it seems like a common criticism for the Ducktales is the fact that the characters can be a bit too stupid... and yeah.
It isn't that noticeable in new characters. But in older characters it definitely is. In some cases it can fit or be really funny that you kind of let it slide (Doofus and Flintheart come to mind)
But in many cases it just feels like it oversimplifies the characters and remove what initially made them so interesting in the first place. Steelbeak comes to mind as he we went from being a suave James Bond-esque villain to just a stupid lackey. Don Carnage went from being maybe a little bit of an idiot, but still competent with his enemies being usually adults (and a kid), to barely competent with his core enemy being a child. And I know I said Flintheart Glomgold earlier as one of the "acceptable" ones, but I still miss how he was reflection of Scrooge at his worst and a devious legitimate threat.
And another character that I really think was screwed over by this... is Launchpad. Now some people have mentioned this already and some might be confused. But what I thought was interesting when reading the pitch bible for the Darkwing Duck spinoff is that they seem to go out of their way to clarify that Launchpad is very stupid and that didn't sit right for me.
Tbh I know Launchpad mostly from Darkwing Duck and while he can be oblivious, naive, and not the most intellectual... I don't know if I would call him stupid. He feels "stupid" in the same way Goofy is, and I wouldn't call Goofy stupid either. I kind of wonder if this mindset influenced how they characterized him and the others and is part of the reason why some characters feel so off.
I feel like the writers saw making character's stupid was an easy way to make characters funnier, but it didn't work all the time and made them more frustrating than funny. Again especially if you knew the originals and saw how they had more to them

@yugonostalgia2019 Heehee your lb is really fun to read! This is extra funny to me bc on my first Worm read I HATED coil almost as much as you, but when i reread it he grew on me like very slimy mold haha. Fun things to notice: Leviathan seemed to be targeting Coil's base & the Travelers - perhaps the reason for coming to BB entirely? Second - remember how arc 7 Taylor goes on a paranoid rant about how conflict & shit always seems to go down at lunchtime? Notice how Coil asks Dinah about problems before lunchtime & drops his realities then? Not a coincidence :)))
Oh also want to self-indulgently talk about Coil's biggest personality trait/flaw: Hypocrisy. You noticed during the interlude & his speeches that he seems pretty self aware - he knows he's a bad person who enjoys torturing people, wanting power for his own sake right? But he has a self-assuredness too, that he views himself as a good employer, one who provides for his underlings & makes them want to work for him. A very stratch-your/mine-back mentality. Except… what happens when there's someone too valuable a subordinate & too dangerous independent? And if there's nothing Coil can offer them? What can he provide a middle schooler with decent parents to make her want to work for him?? Nothing. So, the mask comes off, the good employer self-image vanishes, & all that's left is power-hungry cruelty……
There's so many things about Coil that make me despise him, not least of which is the way he's an absolute goddamn creep about Dinah, but even if I didn't know that about him I think the foundation of the character, the thing that sends me into a gnashing fury, it's that he's uncool.
Coil is a goddamn criminal mastermind, a supervillain whose organization is held by everyone in the know to be one of the Top Three big dogs in Brockton Bay's underworld, and he doesn't even seem to have his mercenaries committing that many crimes out in the open. I actually don't even know why he's on the books as a supervillain, what crimes he's got on his head that put him in the same caliber as Lung and Kaiser and standing head and shoulders above the Merchants, or whether it's just the resources at his beck and call. He's ambitious, scheming, ruthless, with an air of sophistication. He's got a power that, while limited in certain ways, can be monstrously effective with careful planning.
...But then we get a good look at him and it turns out that all his grand ambitions are for petty greed, cruelty, and an obsession with control, an obsession he can't even blame on being a parahuman because his power is store-bought. His sophistication is a facade, he's incautious the moment it doesn't involve a threat of direct harm to himself. He has no guiding principles, he has no patience or loyalty or humility or anything that could be considered a redeeming feature.
Also, man has no taste and no passion. His costume is weird and he doesn't even bother coming up with a name for his organization, there's no aesthetic flair within a single inch of his soldiers' uniforms or in his underground lair. He's like if a box of bran flake cereal could defraud the stock market and was creepy about middle schoolers.
Like it feels almost even more insulting to me because I love the shit out of criminal mastermind types, I love the plotter in the shadows who pulls the strings and crushes their enemies without even being exposed, I have like multiple OCs who pull that kind of shit and one of them is even a supervillain. It's like catnip for me.
So I guess if we want to extend the simile, Coil is like if I went in for catnip and caught a mouthful of bleach, and also the bleach locked a child in its basement.
(Disclaimer: my stance on Coil in no way reflects how I feel about people who actually like him. If you get a kick out of this guy, that's fine, I don't get it but that's not for me to get, I just want to bite down on him as hard as I can and shake until his bones snap)

feli's list of manga that he'll only admit to liking once a year in no particular order
The Eminence in Shadow (isekai in which a lelouch kinnie's ridiculous larping turns out to perfectly predict the grimdark fantasy plot) [THIS ONE IS ACTUALLY PEAK]
Speedrunner Cannot Return from the Game World (Speedrunner isekai'd into the game he has several WRs for. Game mechanics still apply.)
Dungeon Odyssey (guy becomes king of a snake dungeon with lots of monster politics and his weird personal hangups. I also appreciate it having a much more cartoony artstyle than the norm.)
Academy's Undercover Professor (renowned criminal mastermind [yes it's still isekai] accidentally identity thefts a different criminal mastermind and now he's stuck playing the long con. also has to be a teacher now.) (i read the fanscan of this one because the names are less stupid)
I'm Not That Kind of Talent (NOT an isekai starring guy with memory issues being a double agent between a silly demon king and your typical dark rofan emperor, except it turns out the memory issues were actually DID) [featuring my continued bafflement that the story actually respects DID and different characters have different opinions on the subject]
The Demon Prince Goes to the Academy (longtime followers already know my pookie Reinhardt. my silly guy. my ragmuffin. the nut buster) (he punches a guy in the nuts once)
if i start publicly ranting about my love-hate relationship to WorldEnd, please contact the relevant authorities

Tw: weight
I keep getting videos like “ILLYMATION DESTROYED HER CAREER” and “WOKE YOUTUBER TRIED TO CANCEL ME” in my recommended. I finally look into the situation and I’m just… so confused. So I skimmed the guys original video, right? Come to the 10:00 mark, and I stop skipping, and it’s just him insulting her appearance 💀.
So, I look into the situation, and her crime is having a bad opinion and trying to get a video taken down. If having a a bad opinion is a crime, 80% of YouTubers are criminals. As for trying to get the video taken down? Sure, you could call it petty. But cancel-worthy? I just consider it human error.
Apparently doing 1 questionable thing means you deserve to be treated like the devil and treated like a criminal mastermind. It’s the IRL equivalent of kicking Sharon out of book club because she made fun of you.
Also, I was looking at that LBYS guys channel, right? It’s just a bunch of content about “wOoooOOke people.” I uh, yeah. Wow.
I’m not saying she did nothing wrong. Just like… I think it’s being overdramatised.
Full disclosure, I haven’t watched Illymations video in full, or TBYS, but the “there are no bad foods” comment or smth like that is kinda true, just poorly worded. Essentially, it’s about eating in moderation. Nothing wrong with a square of chocolate on a Saturday, but pizza every day is different. Honestly, criticise the video if you want, I haven’t seen it all, so I won’t comment on that. Just. Yeah?
I’m not an illymation stan. I’ve only talked about her once before in relation to a different situation (the reitanna situation and her god awful statement about illymations grooming.) and I don’t watch all her content. I like her music though (Ursa Major), it’s good. I just like. Think the situation is a bit blown out of proportion?
Idk, tell me I’m wrong in my replies or something. I probably won’t respond but I won’t delete your comment unless you’re just being an ass and I’ll hear you out if I’m wrong. I’m just sick of this. Every few weeks I get a video in my recommended like “THIS YOUTUBERS CAREER IS OVER” and it’s always overdramatising the silliest shit.
“She sent 2 million people to harass him.” No? She made a tumblr post telling people to report the video. You know, I can’t even FIND the tumblr post, so that 2 million people claim is a bit over dramatic. She doesn’t even have her tumblr linked to her YouTube. Wait, was it on Twitter? People are claiming it’s on tumblr. I’m so confused.
Also I haven’t watched all of TBYS’s video but people are saying the dress part wasn’t even the worst part of what he said. Idk if that’s true. I condone doing your own research and free thinking so I’d be a hypocrite to say he 100% said anything terrible. It’s weird, cuz Reddit is mostly on Illy’s side, while everywhere else is against her, and that’s really funny to me, because REDDIT of all places?
Idk I’ll probably delete this later. I don’t keep my rants up for long but I’ve been keeping them up a lot recently even tho like, I’m meant to be deleting them? Ugh, I guess I just got lazy. Anyway, bye, love you, or whatever.
Edit: like a year since this but I did watch both videos in the end (back then) so yeah my stance didn’t change.

do the lads boys have powers to fight with? or are they raw fisting it? 🌝
they all have powers to fight with called evol! i saw you said you don’t go here so i will take this chance to info dump on you about them because im a nerd ☝️🤓 if you already knew these things im sorry ignore me akskskwkekd
(under the cut bc this turned into a whole rant)
caleb’s (mr. robot arm) evol is gravity manipulation, so he can immobilize people and also make things float..? and also produce small black holes. beyond that he’s like a high commanding military officer and clearly trained to fight. he’s possibly got some winter soldier type shit going on too but i just met him so idk.
sylus’s (dragon man) evol is energy manipulation, which manifests as like a tangible mist he can control. he can restrain people with it, kill people with it. he can fly and teleport because of it? he’s also basically immortal, and he’s a feared criminal mastermind, a trained boxer and weapons expert. (he’s my pick to win the brawl because his evol is actually pretty op AND he could fight hand-to-hand)
xavier’s evol is the one i understand the least. it’s like, light? he’s constantly compared to a star in canon. it makes him very strong somehow and he can produce lasers with it i think? he’s fast as FUCK. and there are implications that it allows him to travel through time (probably something to do with moving at the speed of light). he’s highly trained in sword fighting, and he is literally legendary amongst the other hunters in the l&ds world. he is unbeatable it seems in terms of fighting monsters and he’s very nonchalant about it. (he is actually my second pick to win the fight, despite not having the best grasp on him in general)
rafayel’s evol is fire that he can produce and control, but the most important factor to consider about him is he’s a god. he’s god of the sea lol. so he can control the ocean to an extent as well. there are implications that he’s immortal also, like literally doesn’t age and has been alive for a long time. but maybe not immortal in the unkillable sense like sylus. he fights with daggers (very sexy but that’s a side comment) and he’s an assassin with a disturbing… artistry about killing
zayne’s evol is ice that he can produce and control, but it’s very volatile to him. he loses control of it if he uses it too much, and it begins to freeze him 😔 but he also has lost control of it and accidentally killed people. so it’s definitely powerful. it seems to be the only weapon at his disposal in terms of combat, and i personally think of all the boys he’d be the least willing to kill the others.
(also saint just pointed out to me that they’re powers directly oppose each other, which is interesting. they are like pokémon)
WOW THIS WAS A RANT. anyways yeah SORRY

1, 18 and 21. Burn the wap fandom alive baby
1. The character everyone gets wrong:
I already talked about Pierre in my other answer, so I’m going to go with a weird pair of characters: Marya B and Anatole. With Marya B, people love to just turn her into a soft girl cottagecore lesbian stereotype character and ignore all of the nuance she has. She helped essentially run the estate when her father was dying and whipped everyone into shape when no one else stepped up. She basically raised Nikolushka for her absent brother. She was relieved her father was dying and felt horribly guilty about it. She helps out people down on their luck out of the goodness of her heart even though her family disapproves. She’s so much more than just a cute sweet girl that can be dismissed because she’s “soft” and “boring”. She can be soft AND strong AND interesting.
As for Anatole, everyone treats him like he’s either a haha silly stupid guy who just makes mistakes and doesn’t think and infantilizes him to excuse his actions like he’s not a grown adult man OR treats him like some evil mastermind heartbreaker who just wants to hurt people. He is neither of those things. He’s too stupid to be actively manipulative but he’s also too self absorbed to care if anyone gets hurt while he pursues what he wants. He’s not innocent and naive but he’s not calculated either. His major problem is that he is horribly horribly selfish. He’s the worst and I hate him forever still of course
18. It’s absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on…
My usual answer is Vera Rostova, but it seems there’s been a bit of a revolution around her recently. Not really sure what’s going on in Veraland but I salute you all. So I’m changing my answer to Boris! He is one of the guys ever and we need to talk about him more. He’s ambitious he’s driven he’s a mommy’s boy he wrote his wife emo poetry and doesn’t even like her anyway. He’s friends (or something…) with Hélène. The guy ever
Also Petya!!! He’s sooo interesting as a parallel to Nikolai and a tragic cautionary tale about idealizing war. The scene between him and that young French prisoner of war haunts me forever
21. Part of canon you think is overhyped:
I want to say the philosophy rants but NO ONE is hyping that up lmao. I’m going to go with the bear cop river thing. Don’t get me wrong I love that bit but people talk about it like its a whole volume of misadventures when it’s literally mentioned once in passing

Okay now I am intrigued, what are you controversial ships? 👀👀👀
(As a fellow crack shipper I will not judge you, I promise)
Well, my friend, you love Snowbaird as well. So I'm guessing you know AAAALL about it.
I have two more actually. I wrote them on my bio!
So the short answer is Caulscott from Life is Strange and Hellcheer from Stranger Things.
But the very, very, very long answer is... (Warning: rant and oversharing catharsis ahead. Spoilers too I guess. Read on your own risk.)
1. Caulscott
My descent into darkness started in October 2022, with this game called Life is Strange. I've forced people to listen talked people's ear off told some people my villain origin story, but I don't mind telling the tales again.
Ahem.
If you don't know, Life is Strange is a game about a girl, who one day sees an asshole filthy rich boy shoots a punk girl in the high school bathroom with a gun and finds out that - gasp! - she can rewind the time.
Long story short, it turns out that the punk girl is her long-lost childhood friend and they use this rewind power to search for punk girl's missing best friend.
They end up finding her dead and buried. And this filthy rich pathetic brat boy is one of her killers (I won't bore you with the fandom discourse whether it's true or not). It turns out that he and the mastermind have been doing horrible things to the girls in school. (The fucked up gist: drugging, kidnapping, photographing. The murder of the girl is accidental, the mastermind says.)
Well, the official couple of the game is actually the MC girl and the punk childhood friend. I don't ship them though.
But in the end of the game, I was overcome with the urge to read a post-canon fic so I searched for them and filtered things on AO3 (don't remember how). And I found something crazy at the top.
"WHAT?! PEOPLE SHIP THE MC WITH THE FILTHY RICH ASSHOLE???" said Kris calmly. "PEOPLE ARE CRAZY!"
"..................... 👀"
*marked to read later*
My friend, that fic turned out to be the MOST influential fic in my life. It altered my brain chemistry. It made me question my life. It made me reconstruct my mindset about myself and fiction. It made me see humans and morality very differently. I sound dramatic and I AM dramatic but I'm NOT joking.
The core story of this pairing is redemption and trauma healing (and mystery too, since it has time travel, yeah?). It turns out that the boy is abused, mentally ill, and manipulated by the mastermind. Though, ofc, I don't eXcUsE what he has done. (I'm tired of having to type disclaimers lol)
The fans focused on humanising him, fleshing out his character and characterisation, fleshing out his family (since his family is one of the mysteries), and pushing him into a healing journey.
It's a super crack ship. It will never be in canon. But, it's amazing? It's like I opened my eyes for the second time.
So this is it. This is the blueprint of my taste. This is what I love to see in fiction.
2. Hellcheer
Now for the second controversial pairing! So I'm into Stranger Things, yeah?
There is this moment in S4-E1 where a guy is flirting with a girl but then she gets murdered very gruesomely. The guy gets scared (duh), runs away, and gets suspected as the murderer. The end. They only had 5 minutes together, but for great reasons, it led to 3.1k fics on AO3.
Well, it is controversial though, because the girl is 4 MONTHS BEFORE 18 and the guy is 20.
That means the ship is pedo. The shippers are pedos. The actress is pedo for shipping it. (But the actor, they said, the actor didn't know anything. The actress pushed this ship to him.) Wait, what, the actress said the girl is actually 18? No, she's wrong! There's no proof! Actually, the girl is 16, you know! And wait, the guy is actually 21! That's so fucked! This ship is illegal! This ship is problematic! People need to know this! There are criminals in the fandom! Cancel people! Boycott people!! Harass people!!! JAIL JAIL JAI--
Yeah. Such a controversial pairing. Brrr.
*deep breathe in*
*deep breath out*
I'm sorry, friend. I did turn up the 💫dramatique💫 a little bit, but all of those were real arguments from them.
This ship is inherently wholesome. It's super wholesome. When I found the ship, I was like "OH, THANK GOD, I'm free from fandom judgment and scrutiny (at least here)! I don't have to walk on eggshells!"
BUT PEOPLE STILL FIND IT PROBLEMATIC.
WHY IS MY FANDOM LIFE LIKE THIS.
Yes, the controversy has died down, but we are still very wary with our co-fandoms. I often have to walk on eggshells still, even when I shouldn't have to. But overall, I'm still very safe there lol It's a wholesome ship after all.
The fanon is about stories of what could have been of them. Fix-It fics of them surviving are what people first wrote of them. But at the core, it's about a traumatised and emotionally abused sweet girl finding love and support from good people, including the guy, and she starts her healing journey whilst trying to escape from a toxic home environment. That's a comforting plotline, no? As I have said, I love shit like this. I love trauma healing stories. And I love angst and fluff. The ship has LOADS of them. (The ship also has loads of filthy dirty smut, because the core of the ship is also women's freedom of and exploration of sexuality. I actually don't favour smut even though I do read them, but I found that amazing and I'm so happy for them.)
3. Snowbaird
And, tadaaa, now I'm in a very controversial pairing once again! Yayyy!
Even if Snowbaird can be similar to the above ships in terms of villain character and a story of what could have been, its appeal to me is very different.
What fascinates me the most is Coryo's complex characterisation.
That's it actually.
I enjoy imagining the what-ifs and I love to challenge Coryo to get his happiest ending, but how hard it is to bend him to our will?
His core motivation is solid and strong and his fatal flaw is solid and wrong. The world he lives in is so fucked up his biggest fear keeps consuming him and he gets defeated by a song.
I'm lost. I don't really know what kind of timeline for this ship able to float, because it can't float! Coryo is so stubborn the ship hits the iceberg over and over and over again.
Floating ship is not my priority actually, but I find that I need to go somewhere. A purpose to stand on. But I haven't got the map yet. I'm still trying to search for what I desire in this journey.
For now, I'm still in my canon-compliant fics phase. I want to enjoy other fans' imagination first before making up my mind.
🎶 This ship is good, this ship is bad, this ship is alive back from the dead 🎶 Lol.
Thank you so much for the ask! It's very cathartic and fun to write. Let's talk a lot, Sara! (That's your name, right?)

When he Sees me
Summary: After alastor left the 3rd time, Mal sets Aponi up on a blind date.
Warnings: alastor is a dick. Theo exists. But that's a good thing bc Theo is great. A bit of malaponi. Aponi interrupts Mal a lot. Other than all of that this is fluff.
Taglist: @gyubby99
Pairings: Alastor x OC who he abandoned
It had been months since Alastor had left.
Aponi took a breath as she finished closing up the Cafe, one of the only places in the pride ring that was actually a good place to work.
Mal sat on the table, waiting for her friend to finish up her job as she texted with a friend of hers.
"I think I found you a date~" Mal stated with a smile.
"What? Mal.... you know I can't do that," Aponi stated as she wiped down a table with leftover ketchup stains on it.
"Oh but I think you caaaan!! He's super sweet! Or.. as sweet as you can get down here..." Mal explained as she held up her phone to her best friend to show Aponi a picture of the Demon.
"Mal. I can't do that. I haven't even gotten Theo a full time babysitter and i-"
"Dont worry about Theo! Vox and I can handle that! You deserve this so much Lilly..... I saw how broken you were when alastor left......" Mal stated as she looked at Aponi with worry.
Aponi paused her actions before sighing.
"I stick with real things," aponi began. "Usually facts and figures... When information's in its place, I minimize the guessing game. Guess what?" She asked.
Mal sighed. "What?"
Thats when the music started.
"I don't like guessing games. Or when I feel things Before I know the feelings" aponi continued in rhythm to the music. "How am I supposed to operate? If I'm just tossed around by fate? Like on an unexpected date......"
Mal rolled her eyes.
"With a stranger who might talk too fast! Or ask me questions about myself Before I've decided that He can ask me questions about myself!" Aponi continued her rant as she continued to scrub the table.
"Lilly-"
"He might sit too close! Or call the waiter by his first name! Or eat Oreos! But eat the cookie before the cream!" Aponi listen before standing up staraight and looking off into nothing. "But what scares me the most.... What scares me the most....." she trailed off as she glanced at her phone, a picture of her and alastor as the Screensaver.
Mal turned her phone over.
"Is what if when he sees me.... What if he doesn't like it? What if he runs the other way and I can't hide from it? What happens then?" Aponi asked as she walked over to get the broom "what If when he knows me, he's only disappointed? What if I give myself away, to only get it given back? I couldn't live with that....." Aponi sang as she swept the floor.
"how do you live with that?" Mal sang in return.
"So, I'm just fine, inside my shell-shaped mind! This way I get the best view! So that when he sees me, I want him too!" Aponi finished.
"Lilly, don't you think you're being a little, I mean maybe just a tad-"
"I'm not defensive!" Aponi interrupted. "I'm simply being cautious! I can't risk reckless dating Due to my miscalculating why A certain suitor stands in line!" Aponi ranted as she swept to the rhythm of the music. "I've seen in movies Most made for television. You cannot be too careful When it comes to sharing your life! I could end up a miserable wife!!" She belted, remembering her relationship with alastor.
Mal huffed and put a hand on Aponi's shoulder, only for her to shrug it off and turn to make, exasperated.
"Sorry girl, but he could be criminal!" Aponi exclaimed. "Some sort of psychopath Who escaped from an institution, Somewhere where they don't have girls!" Aponi ranted as she paced back and fourth, her broom long forgotten. "He could have masterminded some way to find me!" She spoke from experience.
"Lils-"
"He could be color blind! How untrustworthy is that?" Aponi asked. "He could be less than kind!" She explained before sitting in one of the unstacked chairs. "Or even worse, he could be very nice, have lovely eyes... And make me laugh, come out of hiding.... What do I do with that?" She asked, tears forming in her eyes.
Mal reached out for her only for aponi to bury her hea din her hands.
"Oh, God!" She exclaumed befire standing up again. "What if when he sees me, I like him and he knows it? What if he opens up a door, And I can't close it? What happens then?" She sang as she picked up her broom again, dancing with it as if it were a person before throwing it to the side.
"He's not-"
"What If when he holds me, My heart is set in motion? I'm not prepared for that! I'm scared of breaking open!" Aponi sang. Once again interrupting Mal. "But still I can't help from hoping To find someone to talk to! Who likes the way I am... Someone who when he sees me.... Wants to again!" Aponi belted before sitting next to mal on the table.
"..... Just go on this date, Lilly... if anything at least you'll be back out there.... if you don't feel safe you can always call or text me....." Mal stated as she handed her phone to Lilly, the picture of the Demon bright in their eyes.
"But theo-"
"Will be fine. He and Emma can have a playdate. Plus, Vox is real font of him. Despite what he says about Alastor," Mal explained.
Aponi sighed.
".... what if Alastor comes back?" Aponi asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Mal stayed silent.
"........ then at least if the date goes well you'll know your worth if he does," Mal finally expressed as she wrapped a reassuring arm around Aponi.

I did write my version of this analysis. So, please read it if you're interested and tell me what you think.
✨the Spectrum of Criminal Masterminds who tried to make the world a better place✨
Objects:
William James Moriarty (Moriarty the Patriot)
Light Yagami (Death Note)
Fyodor Dostoevsky (Bungou Stray Dogs).
Disclaimer: Their actions have made all 3 of them horrible individuals. This is simply an analysis of the differences in their horribleness and the various ways this archetype can be written.
Disclaimer 2: If admitting that any of them are terrible people hurts your feelings, it’s best not to read further.
Let’s Start with What They Have in Common
1. They are willing to kill people who aren’t lawbreakers if it achieves their desired result.
William: If you’ve only watched the anime, you might not know this, but the man William chose as a target for Enders (on the Noatic) wasn’t a criminal. He was just an alcoholic. Plus, there were the servants in the burned Moriarty manor. However, these were special cases, and William usually tried to stick to his ideals.
Light: No surprises here—he killed anyone he didn’t like or who got in his way. Twelve FBI agents, a former FBI agent who would’ve uncovered his secret in 10 minutes if she’d reached the police people. He was even prepared to kill his own family if they ever discovered his true identity.
Fyodor: Again, no surprises. The most notable example is when he forced a little girl to blow herself up. Beyond that, countless manipulations and murders—he’s the main antagonist for a reason.
2. The Goal - New World
William: To dismantle the British Empire’s class system, which he refers to as the new world.
Light: To rid the world of criminals—his version of a new world.
Fyodor: A new world where humans are devoid of magical abilities.
Even here, it’s apparent that William’s goal is narrower in scale {= easier} compared to the others, whose ambitions span the entire human population. But it’s also worth noting that Moriarty the Patriot lacks any magical elements to aid the character, so localizing the goal is the smartest choice.
Differences
3. Motivation
William: To ensure that people are equal under the law and talented individuals born into underprivileged families have the opportunity to achieve success and recognition.
Light: To cleanse the world of criminals because they pollute it.
Fyodor: To erase magical abilities from existence because they corrupt naive humanity.
4. Their Past
It’s worth noting that Bungou Stray Dogs is the only story that’s still ongoing, so Fyodor does not currently have a detailed backstory but might receive one in the future. (MTP part 2 is not counting; William is living a new life now)
Fyodor: Very old, very undying (that's it).
Light: Born into a family where the father is the head of the NPA (Japanese FBI). He was the top student in his school and later aced Japan’s university entrance exams with the highest score nationwide. For two consecutive years, he was the country’s junior tennis champion.
William: An orphan who lived in an abandoned library with his younger brother. (Occasionally in orphanages, from which they escaped quickly.) To survive, he read extensively and learned enough to offer people advice on the streets—both legal and illegal.
——- Let’s Pause Here to Reflect on the Previous Point.
We’ll skip Fyodor for now since there’s little information about him.
But Light. What could a child who grew up in a privileged family with his father being the head of Japan’s FBI equivalent possibly know about discrimination? Someone whose achievements were always recognized, supported, and never questioned for their legitimacy? Correct. Nothing. He's very naive when it comes to crime
I’m not saying he couldn’t have basic human empathy just because he was never the victim of discrimination (good for him), but we know he doesn’t have it.
Yagami didn’t kill his sister when she was taken hostage solely because it would have immediately confirmed him as Kira. His treatment of Misa speaks for itself as well.
5. Self-Perception (The God Complex)
Light: The most vivid example of a God Complex. He literally believed he was brilliant enough to manipulate Shinigami (death gods). He already referred to himself as a god and intended to rule as a tyrant-god over the new world, forcing everyone to live by his rules.
Fyodor: He repeatedly refers to himself as God’s servant. On one hand, this sounds extremely humble. On the other hand, how high must one’s self-esteem and sense of importance must be to consider themselves a servant of God?
William: Young William certainly had an inflated sense of self-worth. Otherwise, how do you explain a 9-year-old deciding he could change the entire Empire? But the harsh reality of a lifetime of murders catches up with him in adulthood pretty quick, and he begins to see himself as a demon unworthy of life in the new world. By the end of The Final Problem, he considers himself the worst demon on the entire planet. He plans to commit suicide because the new world would be better off without him.
6. Empathy
Light: There’s a shred of empathy in him at the beginning. It’s worth mentioning he killed a man attempting to assault a girl. But as the story progresses and he gains more power, he loses all empathy.
Fyodor: No empathy (so far, but we’ll see what happens next). It’s possible to imagine he had empathy long ago, when he was younger, and this was the moment he decided to erase all abilities. But now, I’d say if he wants abilities to stop being so harmful to humanity, he should stop trying to change the world—he’s responsible for 60-70% of all the bad things happening.
William: Brimming with empathy until the end. Most of his crimes originate from helping people in need (personally checked by a trusted person - Fred - or sometimes {very rarely} by Will himself). Yet, this doesn’t stop him from killing innocent people (though he meticulously avoids such scenarios and doesn't kills children—except for the original Will. But Liam himself was a child then so... it's more fair? Still horrendous. Truly representation of «a victim of the system who became an oppressor». Anyway, back to the point...)
7. Did Their Actions Achieve the Desired Result?
Light: Yes. The manga repeatedly emphasizes that crime rates fell (both in Japan and globally). A positive outcome.
The problem is that this was achieved through quite literally, Light’s dictatorship. It’s also important to note that he killed 80-120 people a day. He didn’t investigate whether each of them was genuinely guilty — it requires too much time —this was an outright lie on his part.
Even worse, he based all his information on the news and police databases. Both can be bought, paid for and proofs can be fabricated.
I guarantee he killed many innocent people while thinking he was killing criminals.
In the end, he’s exposed and killed. His goal of becoming the god of a crime-free new world is not achieved.
Fyodor: Hard to assess since this isn’t something the author has focused on (yet). But given how many people he’s killed, how many criminal organizations he’s created, and how many major characters he’s harmed or killed—Dostoevsky creates more problems than he solves. But he’s still in progress. We’ll see how the writer wraps it up.
William: A large part of his plan involved flooding London with as many criminals as possible so that people would live in fear and see a hero in the Lord of Crime (himself). So, yes, he created plenty of problems too.
But let’s return to his ultimate goal—dismantling the class system. That’s precisely what happened after The Final Problem. Goal achieved.
In the second part of the manga, we see William undercover, teaching children at a free school built by a priest, where they receive an education and move forward in life (Mick inherits his father’s small business).
Plus, after the “death” of the Lord of Crime, all the criminals he strategized for are left unsupported (with Louis staying to apprehend those who continue attempting violence)
8. Allies
Fyodor: As Dazai summarized in chapter 111.5, page 10, Fyodor’s weakness lies in not working with people he doesn’t trust. And he trusts no one.
He has no true allies. He manipulates, brainwashes, or threatens everyone. His goal is more important than people.
Light: Shares Fyodor’s mindset. But there’s a small difference—he also has a family actively involved in his life, whose respect and love matter to him. However, as the story progresses, he starts caring less and less about them, ultimately dismissing his father as weak and worthless.
William: Deeply cares about the opinions of his brothers and other team members around him. Yet, simultaneously, he’s willing to have and control their loyalty and their lives (which all of them gave up to him willingly). In the Remains manga, we even see him buying them pre-suicide gifts. He also ends by publicly taking all the blame upon himself, allowing others to avoid imprisonment.
Conclusion
At this point, the starkest difference emerges when comparing William and Light: one had the courage to admit his actions were horrific and that he himself was a terrible person, while the other never acknowledged his mistakes or was willing to sacrifice his own life (or even a part of it) for the so-called better world.
This doesn’t erase the horribleness, but watching a (fictional) serial killer break down under the weight of his actions is a unique kind of satisfaction (for me)
-+++-
Side Note:
Initially, after watching Moriarty the Patriot anime and reading the manga for the 1st time, I was disappointed that William survived. I went through my five stages of acceptance regarding it. (I still feel this way, but at that point, I’ve developed an emotional attachment to the character, so his survival no longer bothers me.)
I genuinely tried to stay objective in this analysis. But if you feel like William received the warmest analysis, you’re right. He deviated from his ideals the least and (so far) is the only one who successfully implemented his idea.
one more side note: Fyodor is the only one among them who isn’t the protagonist of the story.
So, another problem lies in the fact that we don’t get his true thoughts— we only read what he says. And trusting the words of a character who is supposed to be one of the most brilliant manipulators in manga isn’t the smartest decision. Hopefully, we’ll get a bit of honesty from him. Someday.

im insane and william is the loml so this an analysis + his relationship with sherlock
a kinda long rant with my opinions on his character and some facts i think that could be true (hc) and some canon facts.
i tried to analyze him because he’s literally the love of my life and mtp is my all ass personality.
william is very smart. and that’s the pure truth. the fact that since he was a kid he was aware of his potential and used it for helping others means how charismatic he is. people tend do say it’s a bad copying mechanism using your own body in order to get things you want, and i don’t think that is totally different when you talk about how william used his intelligence (and not only that) for getting food and a home.
i think that could also count as a toxic way for getting things.
he always prioritized his brother and people before him and that shows how little he considers himself. when he was a kid he saw the world he lived in, he saw the horrible london he was forced to survive in, and decided to make it a better place. not because he wanted to live in a better place but because he wanted people to live in a better place.
he never had a high consideration of himself and never actually cared about himself and i think the only person who helped him live in a ‘normal’ way was his brother louis. but that counts for when they were kids. i think that when he grow older and actually had in mind the ‘perfect plan’ he tried on purpose to stop louis from helping him live an actual good life. all he could think was his plan, because if he did not, then all the qualities he had were wasted.
he was sure he didn’t deserve a free life because since he decided that the only way to change london was using criminality he started to hate himself. he couldn’t stand the thought of a person so awful, such as himself, who killed other people, could actually have a good life.
so, you may think, why did he do that? why did he have to ‘kill’ the people and define his own destiny?
well he did it because he knew that was the only way for a change and that nobody could ever do it.
so it had to be him.
and since his plan was to kill every vile and awful demon that lived in london he also had to kill himself, that because he considered himself the worst demon between all them, the demon who ‘killed them all’.
as i was saying, when william got older he got slowly more detached to his brother and started day after day to live in a world became at this point all dark. and it didn’t matter how the people around him were close to him or were trying to help him. he thought he deserved this and that also because all the people he had around couldn’t understand him.
and that is how sherlock comes around. a man full of mistery himself, a brilliant detective, someone who suddenly caught william attention because william himself noticed that this ‘sherlock’ was different from others. it was like he was similar to him. he canonically says that when he met sherlock for the first time he ‘forgot about his plan’. and that is, for sure, something really important.
him, william james moriarty, who lived in the dark, surrounded with nothing but his criminal mastermind plan, suddenly felt lighter, suddenly forgot about all the pression he had, just because he met him, sherlock holmes; the man who he felt a connection with, that knew was reciprocated.
when they separated he was still kinda upset but cleared his mind and decided to put sherlock as a part of his plan.
little did he know, sherlock was not destined to just be a pawn.
sherlock ended up being literally the person that saved him from the plan he himself created.
william was drowning in the darkness of his plan, he gave up on everything, even his own life, that he thought was ‘not worthy to be lived’. but sherlock didn’t agree. well actually both of his brother did not agree too but sherlock was the only one who ended up actually saving him.
sherlock became the ‘light’ in william’s life and that’s why every distraction from his plan he had was suddenly nullified unless it was sherlock. he was happy sherlock distracted him because he couldn’t stand the weight of carrying everything alone anymore.
i guess he kinda always knew about his really feelings for sherlock, but never accepted them, on the contrary he hated himself even more because he thought that a despicable human being like him should’t be allowed to feel such beautiful things.
but when he wrote the letter to sherlock he let it go. he decided it didn’t matter anymore and since he was destined to die he wanted to let the detective know everything. that because he already give up.
and sherlock, of course, didn’t agree with that.
when sherlock jumped with him, william couldn’t believe it. sherlock was actually falling with him. sherlock embraced death with william. but why? sherlock did not deserve to die, not him.
but maybe wasn’t death what sherlock was embracing with liam. it was a new life. a new life that liam thought that didn’t deserved, but when sherlock hugged him he suddenly watched the world starting to be filled with colors. (he canonically says it).
he was literally light up by a new light, that was sherlock himself. he didn’t think he deserved a new possibility, but if sherlock did, then he wouldn’t waste the choice the detective created for him.
after the final problem it can be said that william started to live again, or, maybe, learned to do it for the first time.
and that, people, all thanks to sherlock.

taylor swift songs (or parts of) that remind me of ted lasso characters
@antitheticallyargumentative made a post about this so here are my thoughts and additions
rebecca is mad woman, ive said it before ill say it again, just listen to the song, its so perfect for her
jamie is mastermind bridge "no one wanted to play with me as a little kid, so ive been scheming like a criminal ever since, to make them love me and make it seem effortless, this is the first time ive felt the need to confess", this is so jamie opening up to people (especially roy) and feeling like he has never been wholey loved by anyone without strings attached (his father with football, relationships with sex, the team with his goals scoring ability)
seven is also so jamie but its people coming to realise what his father is like and not knowing what to do (not doing anything but thats a rant for another time) "ive been meaning to tell you, i think you house is haunted, your dad is always mad and that must be why"
OK HEAR ME OUT champagne problems as roy about his relationship with keeley and feeling like he was going to fuck it up eventually and like he wasnt enough "i never was ready, so i watch you go" " but you'll find the real thing instead, she'll patch up your tapestry that I shred, and hold your hand while dancing, never leave you standing, crestfallen on the landing with champagne problems"
ted as tolerate it especially with his ex wife "if it's all in my head, tell me now tell me i've got it wrong somehow, i know my love should be celebrated, but you tolerate it" SOB
ill probs do more later

//Strap in cause I have a long character study rant about Kaede in the first trial. (just to be wary of those who have not played v3 or don't wanna look at a long post lol). To start, just a reminder that looking back on THIS, was the BIGGEST "F you, haha you loser, you really thought--" from the first trial of v3.
Like, it was in the player's face the WHOLE time putting it into those words that Kaede literally did this, making sure she DROPPED the shot put before she left. -_-
Tumblr media
But I also want to continue how it's also so fucking gut wrenching to see how much one side of students wanted to defend Kaede ruthlessly (like Kaito, Gonta, Tenko) while the other side, who was just as shocked, was figuring and pointing out the things she has done (like Korekiyo, Kokichi, Kirumi, Ryoma), the "sins" she has made along the way to defeat the mastermind alongside Shuichi like he was an innocent victim/bystander and felt strong pity for him. Like as if she is the sinner that started this killing game at the beginning. But all Shuichi is doing is just what his talent is to bring truth to light and she knows that. She was at the start openly admitting to what she has done and then more and more are revealed to her planning, that "haha oops you got me guys!" making herself looking like the villain so they can choose easier is slowly turning and twisting into guilt once Shuichi points out that "she wouldn't do something like that".
Shuichi:
Tumblr media
To reference what Chiaki had also said in the first trial of DR2, "If you want to believe in someone…you need to overcome doubt first. Belief without doubt…is simply a lie." Sure, he wanted to cover the things she has done leading to the crime, but he wouldn't want to throw her under the bus as a criminal when he KNOWS she wouldn't kill because or for the first kill perk. He doubted that she would kill to kill, he wanted to see more truth into her doing before confirming no matter how much she wanted him to resist from doing so.
Kaede:
Tumblr media
Shuichi:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite her absolute distaste for killing, she knew to somehow come forward and take that step herself and believed strongly that their plan to kill the mastermind was going to work. Her own faith, determination and confidence just kept leading to her demise. Even when she fully believed it could save everyone be it killing the mastermind and/or stopping the time limit to risk her own life, she knew from the beginning of her plan. She just didn't think Shuichi would be that forward to piecing things together for her reasoning. But she still stood strong to her belief in the friends she JUST MET, especially Shuichi in his detective skill to the point the possibility of the real mastermind being there could be high, she still wanted to take that chance to privately do this plan without him knowing. Just the mix and battle of truths and lies makes such a mess.
Kokichi:
Tumblr media
Even when Kokichi reminded her of her decision, he was right that things were already set in stone once she agreed to herself to do this. She had known it was all over for her once that thought of killing kicked in, even when pressured during the time limit. She still believes that murder is still murder, even when she has done it to protect her friends. It would still be incredibly hard to forgive herself doing such a thing even if others decide to, even if Rantaro or Shuichi could forgive her.
Kaede:
Tumblr media
She would still continue to lay it on that she was a murderer, even for the sake of them. Even if being a murderer meant that she could give everyone that extra push to keep living, to hold on to her wish and be that hope for them after being punished.
Tumblr media
Can't exactly say Kaede is innocent in her doing but she is also innovative and is such a blessing to keep them alive even only for the beginning. But I'm sure even in death she won't ever forgive herself even when she was trying to convince herself for 'doing the right thing'. My heart hurts all over again re-watching this trial.

Mystified and Demoralized (03/28/24)
Here we go again with Wizards of the Coast eating my lunch.
As none of you already know, I've been working on a custom Magic project since BEFORE Wizards was "encouraged" to embrace Fire Design. To be precise, this was when Ixalan (XLN) had just come out and brought Treasure tokens with it. Even then, Wizards "took" an idea I was having about playing up tokens in a big way. I soon realized the superiority of Treasure and decided to switch from using Gold tokens to the new Treasure tokens since having them enter/become tapped would facilitate the idea of "unexpected transfer of ownership" between players. My project is predicated on the world being initially overpopulated by criminal types, so being able to steal Treasure was a shoo-in as a core mechanic.
Additionally, I wanted to illustrate that there were actual bad guys inhabiting the plane, so I used the "batching" technology that the Dominaria (DOM) set brought us in the form of defining "historic" cards as artifacts, legendaries and sagas. My idea was to codify "heroes" and "villains".
Which brings me to my current gripe. You see, ever since I started this project, Wizards of the Coast has been implementing the ideas I came up with independently in "canon" Magic, effectively making my amazing, new ideas less amazing and less special.
For example, I was going to introduce a new spellcaster creature type for black mages to complement the existing white Clerics, blue Wizards, red Shamans and Green Druids. And then WotC beat me to the punch with Throne of Eldraine's (ELD) black Warlocks.
I could go on and on about how my casually produced custom project (it's actually four sets and a gaggle of Commander products/play experiences, so I can't just call it a "set") just KEEPS getting preemptively upstaged by actual, canon Magic with every set, but today, I am currently being demoralized by the batching of "outlaws" in Outlaws of Thunder Junction (OTJ).
While OTJ's titular "outlaws" are defined as Assassins, Mercenaries, Pirates, Rogues and Warlocks, my "villains" are Assassins, Mercenaries, Minions, Rogues and Masterminds.
I considered including Pirates, since Ixalan was promoting them so heavily at the time, but I didn't think that a) Pirates would catch on this well and b) I could do a whole heck of a lot more with them that Mercenaries wasn't already doing.
(Oh, and by the way, the return of Mercenaries was supposed to be one of my surprises, too. I always felt that lumping Mercs in with Rebels was a disservice to the relatively fair Merc mechanic that only ever fetched SMALLER creatures out of your deck, but that's a different rant.)
Masterminds are my own creature type creation for the BBEGs of the project with Minions being their charismatic right-hand... minions.
My "Heroes & Villains" project has always been thought of as an alternate timeline take on where Wizards would have taken Magic all those years ago. Before the War of the Spark, before Secret Lairs, before Commander-focused design, before Universes Beyond and before "Fire design" shook up the way Magic worked, I figured I was walking paths that Wizards wouldn't dare go, but it seems I was just several steps ahead of them.
I know that sounds boastful, and it is, but it's also increasingly true. The following concepts and many more were intrinsic parts of my custom project well before they appeared and/or became commonplace in canon Magic:
:: Letting players play their opponents' cards a la Lord Gonti.
:: Token artifacts becoming ubiquitous commodities.
:: Introducing Warlock as a creature type.
:: Batching "bad guys" together
:: Reintroducing Mercenaries
:: Creating cards based on other intellectual properties
:: [Soon] Creating cards with a superhero aesthetic (my project is heavily comics-inspired)
:: Colorless spells that aren't Eldrazi-flavored
:: Spells that can fetch a subset of other spells from outside the game (I abandoned this ides, but I came up with "Lessons" first.)
:: DFCs with identical fronts, but different backs (Also abandoned, but Unstable's variants feel a lot like this.)
:: Caring about whether a creature has a particular keyword ability (specifically, haste as made famous on Ginger Brute because usually, having haste doesn't serve any function after that first turn.)
:: Investing mana into a card now to be cast later (as seen on suspend, foretell and now plot. I couldn't work out how this was different/better than suspend and when foretell debuted, I thought better of it. Apparently Wizards wanted a do-over with plot. Seems a bit broken and unappealing at the same time, but we'll see.)
:: DFCs with differing card types on either side.
:: Equipment with alternate equip costs (I'm not sure I can take credit for this one, but my ersatz-Wonder Woman's armor had a less-streamlined version of this before Dominaria. Once the template was established, mine looked a lot more natural.)
:: A modern set entirely based around enemy color pairs. (Return to Return to Ravnica doesn't count.)
:: AFR's Rogue Class is almost exactly my "pilfer" mechanic. (Also, they named a card Pilfer out from under me. And Suit Up, and Prizefight comes close, and...)
:: Citizen becoming a supported creature type (Citizens existed before Streets of New Capenna, but only ever as tokens.)
:: A world full of "Outlaws" and/or crime families.
:: A revisit of the Brothers' War storyline complete with multiversal implications (this makes sense if only you knew all my secrets)
:: The return of and sudden ubiquity of sagas (Sagas weren't even a thing when I started.)
:: The return of hideaway
:: Maestro's Ascendancy comes pretty close to one of my mechanics, though not quite as weird or widespread as mine
:: And many more smaller slights that I can't think of now, but add up to a growing avalanche of ideas that can't have the same impact now that they are "old hat".
I say all this to say that as the official Marvel tie-in product inches ever closer and all my fresh ideas become stale, I'm feeling a bit beaten down. I'm going to finish my project, and I hope I have something worthy of showing off before the "deadline" (once Wizards unleashes its own comics-inspired set, mine will be DOA).
I also hope to share bits and pieces more often between now and then. I enjoy writing my ideas out, but I tend to be feast-or-famine when it comes to word count. I don't expect anyone to read this or follow me, but if you do, I will honor your interest in seeing what comes next by providing updates. I'm no longer even going to pretend I can produce blog posts regularly, but I can promise my next missive will be sooner than later.

Yeah, I agree.
Like I said in the comments the fact that he still is being referenced in things like The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse and as you mentioned Twisted Wonderland gives me hope that he is still being remembered and could make a larger comeback someday. I had no interest in the Twisted Wonderland, but this actually made me want to check it out. I would love it if he ends up playing a bigger role in Lorcana though. You know for a company that loves to bring back older beloved characters and remake and merchandise the hell out of them, I would hope some of that energy will be headed the Blot's way. To be honest I could totally imagine a comeback that plays with the idea that he has been left out for so long and want to get attention i.e. "I am the Phantom Blot"
But even then, it is still possible for someone to get into the Phantom Blot without a more popular modern non-comic interpretation. I actually was not introduced to him through the comics as I am a dumb American and unfortunately, the comics aren't as popular here as they are in other countries. Which is a shame because I would have loved the hell out of them. I always liked the whole Mickey and Friends world. I was kind of aware of him as I've seen pictures of him and heard him mentioned but I would argue I was formally introduced to him (Though it isn't the first time I met him, but I will explain more) was by a Colin LooksBack video (He has great videos on Disney Villains and I truly recommend you check them out). I actually met another person on here who was also introduced to him through the same video. I remember watching that video and being so shocked that there was such a cool villain part of the whole Mickey and Friends universe and wondered why he wasn't being used in more modern stuff.
Only for me to find out later in the video and in the comments that he was used in the Ducktales Reboot (which I did actually watch all the way through before I watched the video) and was "kind of" used in Epic Mickey. But I kind of forgot about him in the reboot (tbh the most I remembered was his relationship with Pepper) . I just wasn't really as drawn to him and he is kind of a completely different character from the comics (even though the comics themselves have different interpretations of him) and in Epic Mickey he is straight up a different character with some inspiration from the original. This isn't to say that the Ducktales Reboot version was the worst though, I thought he was okay and served what role they needed from him. But tbh it is a bit of a shame that it was one of his more notable recent appearances and yet felt like a wasted opportunity to really show people why he is such a beloved character... But idk maybe it would have been better to do that in a more Mickey-centric piece of media and tbh if they made him more like the original he would kind of steal the show and could arguably need a whole season to himself. To be honest I have a huge rant about this, but lets get back on topic
The point I do want to make is that there is still hope as fans can keep in public discussion by talking about him and sharing content introducing him to other fans. To be honest it is part of the reason I started my fanfiction series. And the more animated and video game cameos he gets the more it strengthens the opportunity of him truly getting a chance to shine. I mean Epic Mickey helped bring back Oswald in public consciousness. And tbh the comics have always done and continue to do a great job of keeping him alive in general (Wish more were translated into English though).
So who knows... Maybe one day we can really get a big project that can bring him back into spotlight where he can truly be seen as the evil criminal mastermind he is and take down that mouse.
Sorry about the long rant. I've been wanting share these thoughts for a while and your post was a good jumping off point.
Tbh though it is really a shame that the Phantom Blot is not as popular in animated form than he is in the comics. I feel like a lot more people would be into him if they actually knew about him and saw him at his full potential. I mean an extremely manipulative and intelligent archenemy of Mickey that looks like Walt Disney should be a hit with people who like and even don't like Disney.
Unfortunately I feel like his animated appearances tend to be hit or miss as they tend to leave out what makes him an interesting villain in the first place. Maybe one day we'll have an animated show or movie that uses him to his fullest potential.

A bit of a rant:
I avoided watching Artemis Fowl after seeing the trailer cause it looked silly which really wasn’t the vibe of the books.
I’m cooking and thought why not…..my original decision was correct.
Talk about in name only. They changed the whole story. And worst of all they changed the main character(s) so much they may as well have just given everything other names and made something new.
Where’s my insufferable evil genius?
Rant done but I needed to shout into the wind to get it out (only 30 minutes in and so many feelings)
(This probably only matters to me right now but still!)
