Our first Activities Permit was turned in and Fish & Boat and they approved the use of the ARGO on our upcoming trip. The start of a new relationship moving forward, this is the only place we plan to use the Argo in the creek over the next few weeks, but there is a hay wagon or part of one at least laying in that section, we'll see how it goes. Our events are listed from next weekend till mid April, at that point we will be looking at going into Maryland on the jig till mid June, then we'll backtrack to maintenance some of the the jig in Franklin County. All the activities permits will be tuned in Monday, the only change to these dates will be Weather or Fish & Boat not approving our activities, I don't see that being a problem as this is all in the green on sections 05, 06, 07 which are not stocked waters. We met with Fish and Boat today at Senator Mastriano's office, unfortunately Senator Mastriano got called away on other business and Captain Anthony was out of town. None the less Felicia Wallace the Senator's Executive Assistant along with the Chambersburg office staff did a great job handling everything and helping us to get it all sorted out. Sergeant Furlong filled in for Capitan Anthony so we had everyone represented at the table. There was a lot of back and fourth but at the end of the day we came to a compromise that works for everyone, we now know where we can and can't use the Argo, we will be filling out a permit for single use to be approved or denied based on the location and reason for the Argo. Our intention has never been to take it out every trip as that's not necessary but we do need it from time to time for larger items, I think that may have been something they didn't know till today, this sit down was really what we needed. We would like to thank Fish and Boat for coming out and finding a common ground, I know they didn't have to so it's greatly appreciated by all of us at CCP and I'm sure a major part of our community. We would also like to thank Senator Mastriano's and his great staff for facilitating this and doing the research, they went above and beyond for us and we appreciate it. We'd also like to thank Jeff of Shanks Argo for taking the time to come out and support us, as they have so many times in the past. The meeting was longer than I expected but the results are what we had hoped for, so now we just need to work on our relationship with Fish and Boat, and I believe we will be fine from here on out. Our day in reverse, from Loop Rd To Stone Bridge. It wasn't bad till we got to Guitner Rd, we hit tire after tire and yet there are still some tires left there, we just got to exhausted, worked from 8am this morning till now, it was a good day but that last section took it out of us. Anyway as of last week we have started our 5th year covered 44 miles of creek completely twice and some sections multiple times in effort to get everything, we have now removed well over 45,000lbs of trash from the East Branch of the Conococheague Creek, that number is really low since we don't weigh every load we under estimate them, in reality it's more like 60 to 70,000lbs of trash.
