Since Stiles again had nothing to do at all that day, he decided to go into town for a few hours, maybe buy a new book, look around a bit, just watch the people walking around. He always liked watching other people. But what he liked most about them was hearing their voices. Because that was something he was never going to get himself. He often just lost himself in the conversations of total strangers, just because he enjoyed hearing them talk so much.

But even though he couldn't speak, there was no reason for him to go out. Go out into the city and buy things. Have conversations with people. It just didn't go like all the other conversation everyone else had, of course. But most of the times, he managed to make the people understand what he wanted. So also this day. After buying himself a new book, he went to his favorite café in town. He went there so often, he didn't even have to tell the barista what he wanted. He simply smiled at the guy once he gave him his coffee, handed him a few dollars more than he had to, and was about to leave, when he crashed into someone. He crashed into him and spilles his coffee all over the other's shirt. It gladly wasn't a hot drink, so at least he didn't burn the man. But still, he was terribly sorry for what just happened, and hysterically jumped from one feet to the other, not knowing what he should do now.

He couldn't believe, there was another year of alphas parading around the towns that were full of werewolves to search for a temporary omega to torture during heat week. Or at least, that was what he had heard. He also knew that all of the alphas were participating, up until the moment they found a mate. Something that was also widely known. The only way to skip out on the ceremonies were if one had a mate already, or if they were a beta. Isaac wasn't that lucky. He was both unmated and an omega. It was all because of his father being an omega, and having settled for another omega. He just sighed as he was standing there, in the sea of other omegas. He was nervous, and he knew that so was everyone else around him as well. They were all gathered up in rows. Girls and boys mixed together, but standing after age. It was why he was in the far back.

The youngest went in the back, because of some stupid rule that was made up. The alphas should look at the oldest ones first, but the alphas, especially the older alphas, always picked the younger omegas. There was one alpha in particular that he was thinking of. One Peter Hale, he had a reputation to basically ruining his omegas with the words that came out of his mouth. The man was rumoured to be cruel. It was someone that Isaac would rather never ever have to stand face to face to. Then there were other alphas with reputations of not being able to control the omegas they bring with them. He'd even seen some clips of omegas that were out of control, and out of mind during their heat. Something he really didn't want experience. He was just standing there, and staring up at the alphas on the stage. He could of course see them, because he was one of the tallest 18 year-olds there was in his home town.

Stiles was not sure if this was really worth it. If he wanted to get invested in someone obviously broken. Not - Not that he was one of those people that wouldn't take their time for their loved ones, he was just- He was young, okay ? And he had enough damage himself already, he was not sure if he could deal with others too. 

But still, he stood here, groceries in his bag, a small smile on his face as he rang the doorbell. Peter could be worth it, he thought, would be worth it. All of it.
