📣 BIG NEWS! 📣 We are incredibly excited to launch our 2024 Artist in Residence programme, made possible thanks to generous support from @creativescots National Lottery funding. We are looking for 4 Scotland based artists (3 x mid-career and 1 x early-career) to undertake a four week residency at Print Clan. Each residency will culminate with the delivery of one public output of choice and a half-day workshop at one of our Print Clubs.

We're interested in artists using the residency to explore one or a combination of the following themes:

🌿 Eco consciousness and sustainability

🏁 Repeat pattern and/or reproduction

🎨 Surface, form and colour

We particularly welcome applications from artists with disabilities, artists from black, Asian or ethnic minority communities; LGBTQIA+ artists; and those who have faced socio-economic disadvantages through their circumstances or upbringing.

Artists will received payment for the four weeks at Scottish Artists Union residency rates, a dedicated materials budget, and an additional £38ph for the Print Club workshop. There is also a budget for access needs.

As some of you might know, next week I start teaching drawing workshops with @outspokenartssc n I could just burst with excitement! I've worked towards this for over a year and it's finally coming to fruition after being delayed due to the ongoing panini! The team at outspoken arts have been fab and the artists I'm teaching along side are fab too so go check them out! Less than a year ago I graduated and now I'm teaching who'd a thunk it! The classes are free and for school leavers or anyone thinking about going to art school! This is the kind of accessibility and community help that gets me super excited n I'm delighted that I've been able to be a part of such an incredible thing so early in my career! Throughout the last 6 months, Gaada have created a Shetland activist archive centred around the (ongoing) work of local equalities group Up Helly Aa for Aa. The digital archive has been used by artists this year to create work as part of the Weemin's Wark project.

I’m currently working on a publication with Gaada, which both documents that process and speculates on how the archive might be used by others to imagine (and work towards) a brighter future where all can thrive.

While the publication is due to come out later this spring, Gaada and Glasgow Women’s Library are hosting a celebration of the whole project - and the activists and artists involved - next Tuesday!

(While the opening of the Weemin’s Wark exhibition at GWL has been postponed due to the current lockdown, this celebration is still going ahead)
