‘Monaco Muletto’ Artwork available in Limited Edition Print Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza Muletto Chassis #2111039 17 Apr 1932 Monte Carlo - Monaco Grand Prix Alfa Corse team entered 4 cars into the race, driven by Italians; Borzacchini, Campari, Nuvolari & sole German; Rudi Caracciola. As Caracciola was German, and with Campari in particular not wanting him in the team, his car was painted white, whilst the others remained in red. Italian Tazio Nuvolari eventually won the race, but after a very close battle with Caracciola, who was just edged out by 2.8sec at the chequered flag. Creative Combinations

The Brief:

“You must pick a country and design and create and object to represent it.” My chosen country and object was India and a ladder. I wanted to visually depict how the caste system negatively affects those who are socially trapped at the bottom. By missing out the rungs above the bottom one, the ladder is unclimbable, showing how the people who are considered to be the lowest ‘untouchable’ classes of Indian society, are unable to climb socially and improve their situation.

Lancia Delta Integrale HF ‘Deltona’ 23-29 January 1992. Monte Carlo Rally. Didier Auriol and co-driver Bernard Occelli blasting through the snow on the famous special stage; SS1 Col de Turini. ‘Forno Di Volpi’ The infamous 1962 Ferrari 250 GT #Breadvan. A light-heart tribute to the car that has a history like no other Ferrari: > Started out life in 1961 as a 250GT SWB, dubbed the ‘SEFAC Hot Rod’ due to it being the ultimate SWB spec at the time. > Competed strongly at the Tour de France & Daytona. > Converted to the unique Kamm tail body (designed by Bizzarrini) in 1962 by wealthy Italian; Count Volpi, using a team of engineers who had walked out of Ferrari. The Breadvan was developed against the wishes of Enzo Ferrari > Labelled the Breadvan by the British press and ‘la Camionette’ (little truck) by the French. Disparaging terms at the time, now used more affectionately > The vehicle competed in the ‘62 Le Mans, and was leading all the other Factory 250GTOs before a broken propshaft forced retirement > Painted black as a joke by Gianni Agnelli as it reminded him of a hearse. > Involved in a police chase on the French Riviera, driven by playboy Gunter Sachs (later husband of Bridget Bardot). A new taster image for upcoming artwork this weekend, featuring the crazy Tyrrell P34 - after a week off tackling some longer term art projects.
