『 robin buckley : @creatingromance 』
continued from here
Robin just held Penny against her and let her hands run over her arms in a comforting way. Her chin rested against the top of her head and she sighed contently. This was nice. Just feeling the warmth of her friends body pressed against her own was something that she longed for. Human contact. It was something she had way too little of. She was lost in the crackling sound of the leaves on the ground being shuffled by the breeze and the smell of Penny's hair. It was a sweet scent that she couldn't place but she loved it. The sound of the other girls voice broke the silence but Robin took a moment to answer. "Yeah. All the time." And she hated it. No one but Steve really knew her and although she was thankful for her best friend, sometimes she wanted more. It got lonely seeing all the happy couples at school and coming into the video store when she was at work - she wanted that. There was a sinking feeling as she knew that her chances were slim. She could probably date a guy - but what was the point in that when she wouldn't truly be happy. She wanted a girlfriend but those weren’t as easy to come by in a small close-minded town like Hawkins. It was completely unaccepted. And then there was her father to worry about. No it was better to just be alone and keep waiting and hoping for something she’d probably never have. For now she’s just enjoy the feeling of being so close to a pretty girl. "But you're not alone. You have me. I’ll always be your friend." Because that’s what they had always been. Friends. And Robin was okay with that.

cont from here.
Leah chuckled, giving her a soft nudge back. “I don’t exactly remember a ton about it. Just that it was weird and we were...” she trailed off, taking another sip of her drink. She couldn’t leave it there, she knew that much. But how do you go about telling a friend...a platonic friend that maybe you didn’t think about them as platonically as you thought? It was a confusing feeling, even more so because the dream was still fresh in her mind. No fuzz. No. It was crystal and she could feel the ache of the illusion. She felt the loss of something that never was and she had to take a moment to think. “we were together, which is ridiculous, I know--” she said swallowing, with another light chuckle. “But it-- was...it felt very real,” @creatingromance

♡ ˙ * ✧ ━━ ❪ continued from here // for @creatingromance ❫
jasmine stirs the pasta, mixing in the pesto, sun dried tomatoes, and mushrooms. this is one of her favorite dishes to cook when she has visitors over; it’s decadent and the flavors go well together. she currently has ice cream in the freezer, which they, of course, will promptly eat after dinner. after work, she almost rushed home so she could clean her apartment, tend to her plants, and make it look good for amelia. she’s excited; she hasn’t had anyone over in a while; and since then the flora and fauna collection at her place has exponentially grown over the years. she hears the doorbell, making her heart jump. she turns down the heat on the pasta and goes to her front door. “hey!” jasmine exclaims upon seeing amelia on the other side. she opens the door wider. “how are you? please, come in and make yourself at home! don’t mind all the plants!”

@creatingromance liked for a starter from Eden
“Did you just say we should move in together? Already?!” They’d only been dating for a couple of months and Eden was terrible at commitment. But at the very same time, maybe she should move in and move on with her life; take the next stop. “Is that what you really want? D’ya think that’s best for us right now ‘cos I dunno.”

I’m still behind on this challenge but I wanted to jump on this question. What’s in all your writing: Food/Place/Theme? For most of my books, the one common element is a dance scene of some kind. When you write historical (especially if it has romance) you are always looking for ways to get your characters to touch. One of the best ways to add tension (and, of course, yearning) is to put your couple in close proximity and then force them to clasp hands and be within a breath of each other. One of the best ways I’ve ever seen this tension employed is via the “ball scene” in Pride & Prejudice. The push and pull between Darcy & Elizabeth is palpable and it just makes you want to scream “kiss already!” 😍🥰🤣 #AuthorAugust21 #prideandprejudice2005 #darcyandelizabeth #forcedproximity #ballroomdance #creatingtensioninwriting #romancewriter #yahistoricalwriter #creatingromance #romancetropes #kissalready #romancefan #writinganovel #writingtechniques #writingtips https://www.instagram.com/p/CSe_YoDJ4dx/?utm_medium=tumblr

@creatingromance || Continued from here !!
Gale looked to her and nodded. She definitely wasn’t wrong, he hadn’t heard that there would be an exam, which caused him to sigh as he looked away, wanting nothing more than to get in his car and drive home. Or off a cliff... the latter might be easier.
“Thanks for the heads up... and the offer,” he said, his voice quiet and hoarse, as if he hadn’t spoken in months, which wasn’t all that far from the truth. “I, uh,” he grunted, trying to make it sound less like he was some fragile little creature who needed to be protected because of his circumstance, “I’ll be sure to let you know if I need to take you up on that.”
He’d basically been winging his way through high school up through now anyways, so he didn’t see why he shouldn’t just continue that way now. Of course, with Roan, he’d never really had to try... Roan made it easier for him to skate by, because they made sure he actually did enough to get by with decent grades.
#creatingromance#c: Gale Sagong#{ I definitely don't mind the length. Sorry I wasn't able to match it ^_^ }
