AYAYUI IDOL AU: Chapter 2

// It’s time for the second chapter! This one focuses more on the conversations with other characters than on Ayayui interactions, but I’m really curious to see if anyone can guess who the second Diaboy to meet Yui will be. 👀

This story isn’t meant to be a harem or anything like that though, but all the Diaboys will meet Yui at some point. I hope you enjoy this chapter until the next one! 💖

Chapter 1

Place: Dorms

Ayato: Good night.

Laito: Nighty night~!

— Ayato enters his room —

Laito: ( Hmm… he seems unusually quiet. He hasn’t said a single word the entire way, which is so unlike him. )

( It’s as if something’s weighing on his mind, that he’s deliberately keeping to himself. )

( Something must have surely happened to him when he went outside, but why won’t he say anything? That’s weird… )

— stretches and yawns —

Anyway, there’s no point in overthinking it. As long as it doesn’t damage his and our reputation, it’s not worth worrying about.

Place: Ayato’s room

Ayato: ( Phew, I managed to slip into my bed without waking Shu up. )

( The last thing I needed was a lecture about sneaking off to the club as an idol and nearly getting caught. )

( Haa… what a mess. I really made a fool of myself today, didn’t I? )

( If it weren’t for that girl, I’d probably be in the hospital right now, all over the news for alcohol poisoning. )

( Man, that would’ve totally wrecked my career… )

???: Heh, where have you been?

Ayato: …!

( Was that—)

O-Oi, you’re not sleeping!?

Shu: I was until a certain someone tripped over the WI-FI cable and woke me up.

Ayato: ( Fuck! )

Shu: But whatever, I answered your question, so now it’s your turn to answer mine.

— opens one eye and looks at him —

Ayato: ( Wait… I could just make something up and play it off as the truth! )

( Heh, exactly! There’s no way he’d be able to tell it’s a lie! )

Just practicing. I want to be the best version of myself for the next concert, y’know?

Shu: Hmm… I see.

And now, what’s the real answer?

Ayato: …!?

( How did he— )

Hah? W-What do you mean? I’m telling the truth!

— Shu opens both eyes and looks at him —

Shu: You went there, didn’t you?

Ayato: …!

( This guy… he can see through me! )

How the hell did you know that I went to the night club!?

Shu: Heh~? So I was right after all. You really did go there, huh?

Ayato: ( You… You fucking tricked me! )

Look, I know I’m not the best at keeping things together, but don’t tell Reiji! I beg you!

If the leader finds out, the staff will know, and once the CEO hears, I’m done! He’ll fire me in a heartbeat, no questions asked!

Shu: You’re overreacting. No idol is gonna get fired for just going to a night club.

Ayato: Man, you just don’t get it! It’s not just about going there— it’s what went down while I was there!

Shu: Oh? Now you’ve got me curious. What exactly happened?

— starts piping —

Ayato: ( Why do I keep getting myself in this!? )

( Haa… but I guess there’s no point in running away from my issues anymore. )

Basically, I was very tired and thought of over drinking to get my mind think of something else, but the alcohol and exhaustion made a really bad combination, so my chest started aching.

I went outside to get some air, but the pain just kept getting worse until this random chick found me and gave me her water bottle.

Shu: Wait… so you got caught?

Ayato: Luckily, no! As crazy as this sounds, she didn’t recognize me.

Heck, she even asked for my name after I called her a cab! But of course, I’m not that dumb. I knew it would have been way too risky to tell her my name.

( Honestly, I don’t even know why I was so anxious about it. In the end, everything worked out just fine, and I bet that girl will forget all about it in a few hours anyway. )

Shu: Hmm… you do realize that might have merely been an act, don’t you?

Ayato: Huh? What do you mean…?

Shu: Women are sly as foxes.

They’ll play all innocent and clueless, behaving like they have no idea what’s going on, but in reality, they’re just getting exactly what they want without anyone even realizing it.

Heh, it’s almost impressive how they pull it off.

Ayato: Wait… so you mean that girl knew who I was and only pretended not to so as to stalk me? But if that’s the case, then——

Shu: Haa… no need to scream, it’s almost 3 in the morning.

I’m not saying she’s a stalker, but you should probably be more cautious.

You know how fangirls are. If they see you talking to any girl that’s not them, they’ll lose it. Better to just watch out and avoid any unnecessary trouble.

— closes eyes again —

Not just for you, but for everyone else around too.

Ayato’s monologue

Shu’s right. I need to step up my game and start taking this job more seriously.

Being an idol isn’t just a paycheck; it’s a responsibility that goes far beyond me.

Every choice I make carries weight, and not just for my future, but for the company’s and everyone I work with.

Yeah… Exactly. If I let my career fall apart, it’s not only me who’ll feel it— the whole team, every project, and all the hard work we’ve put into this place will take a hit as well.

That’s why, from now on, I’m done making stupid decisions that could mess everything up. My focus is on my idol activities and nothing else.

I should have realized from the moment I signed the contract that living like a normal teenager just isn’t part of the deal anymore.

*Timeskip*

Place: Hotel kitchen

Yui: ( Working here is surprisingly relaxing. Not only that, but the co-workers I met seem very nice too! )

( I’m really excited to put my cooking skills to good use. From what I remember, this hotel has a great reputation, therefore it’s truly amazing to learn from such experienced professionals. )

???: Noooo!!!

Yui: …!?

( It’s coming from the storeroom! )

— quickly opens it —

???: ….!

Yui: Hana-san!

I-I heard you scream, are you alright?

Hana: Wa—… Was I really that loud? This is so embarrassing… I’m so sorry!

— covers face with hands —

Yui: Ah, there’s no need to worry about that, it’s fine.

More importantly, what happened? Did something scare you?

Hana: No, I’m not scared, more like… disappointed.

In case you haven’t heard already, the SAKAMAKIS are filming a special episode for their YouTube channel at three different locations, and guess what? My two favorite members are coming to this hotel in 4 days, but the issue is... it’s happening right when I’m not on shift…!

— starts crying —

On top of that, I promised my sister I’d visit her in Fukuoka, since we'll both be off work at the same time, which means that there’s absolutely no way I can meet them now!

This is such terrible timing…!

Yui: ( SAKAMAKIS… Based on Hana-san’s intense reaction, they must be some sort of important public figures, no? )

Oww… it does sound unfortunate, but you shouldn’t give up hope completely. After all, you live in Japan, so I’m sure there’s always a chance you’ll get to meet them!

Hana: It’s not as easy as you say…

They will return to Korea soon, and who knows when they’ll promote in Japan again? This was my only opportunity to see them outside of the concerts… and I couldn’t even manage to get any decent seats there.

— pouts —

Yui: ( Wait, did she say ‘concerts’? )

Ohh, I see. So they’re idols!

Hana: Eh? You… You actually don’t know the SAKAMAKIS—!?

Yui: W-Well… I’m sorry, the name doesn't really ring a bell, and to be honest, I can’t say I’m familiar with the idol world in general.

Hana: But come on, you must have at least seen their faces before, right?

— shows her a picture of them —

Yui: ( Will she be let down again if I say ‘no’? )

( Hmm… But truth be told, these boys are undeniably good-looking, and it’s clear that they must be hardworking as well, considering how they manage to juggle such hectic schedules. )

( I can easily see why they’ve captured the hearts of such passionate fans. )

— eyes suddenly widen —

( The red-haired one——! )

— blushes —

Hana: So, who did steal Yui-san’s heart~?

Yui: Ah, n-nobody…!

— gets embarrassed —

It’s just that the boy in middle… he got an incredibly well-featured face. I don’t know how to put it into words, but he simply appears unreal.

( To think that a human could look like this… it makes me a bit envious. His eyes and face shape are especially pretty. )

— Hana starts laughing —

Yui: ( Eh? Did I say something wrong? )

Hana: Get in line, that’s Ayato-san!

Hmph… just the thought of not being able to see his tiny, perfect face up close makes my heart ache.

Yui: ( Hana-san… she really seems to love this group a lot. )

( I can't help but think that if I were in her shoes, I'd feel hurt too not being able to see someone I admire so much… )

Hey, Hana-san… I know it’s not exactly the same as having it personally from him, but if it’s possible, I’d be more than willing to ask Ayato-san for an autograph on your behalf!

Hana: Eh—? Would you really do that for me!?

Yui-san, you are the best!

— hugs her —

Yui: I-It’s nothing, really.

Hana: Wait a little—! Now that I think about it, you could also totally grab a photo with them! Isn’t that wonderful?

( I can’t believe it! This way I’ll be just one person away from Ayato-san! )

Yui: Uuh… I’m sure it’d be a nice memory to look back on, but wouldn’t it bother you if I did? After all, you’ve been their loyal fan all this time, not me.

Besides, there’s no guarantee that they would agree to take a picture with an ordinary person such as myself.

Hana: That doesn’t matter, silly! They’re super chill with their fans, and everyone says they never turn down a picture request— unless they’re busy, of course. There’s no way they’d refuse you, especially not in a setting like this.

You also mentioned being captivated by Ayato-san’s visuals, so fan or not, I think anyone would jump at the chance to take a picture with such a fine man~!

Yui’s monologue

Hana-san and I continued to talk about it for a while, and during our conversation, she suggested a few of their songs for me to listen to on my way back to the Airbnb.

At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as I played each one, I was pleasantly surprised.

While I’m still not very knowledgeable about this group, the melodies, the lyrics, and even the energy in their performances were captivating in a way I hadn’t expected.

That Ayato boy… he seems like someone who was born to be on stage. Such charisma and beauty… It really makes me wonder how he acts off-cameras.

Hana-san has clearly supported the SAKAMAKIS for such a long time, and to finally get the chance to meet them, only to have it slip through her fingers, must be heartbreaking.

A part of me can’t shake the feeling of guilt, even though I know very well that it wasn’t my or anyone’s fault.

It might not be a fair comparison, I know, but it reminded me of the boy I met yesterday.

He has probably forgotten about me already, but just like Hana-san dreams of meeting her idols, I find myself wishing to meet him again.

* In case you're wondering why Ayato is sharing a room with Shu and not Laito, many companies assign roommates to idols randomly. The idea is that idols are supposed to get along with everyone, so the arrangement is made to promote harmony and teamwork, regardless of personal preferences.

🎻- Frankly, Shu is a lazy man child whose only purpose on earth is to drive you up a wall

🎻- He needs someone competent that can carry your team for the BOTH of you because God knows he won't

🎻- Shu finds that getting a reaction out of you far more interesting than the game itself

🎻- So let's say you're playing Uno, he has five +4 cards up his ass and he's only willing to spend them on either you or Reiji

🎻- The truth is, when you're good at everything, no challenge is ever truly a challenge and that makes life soooo boring especially if you're immortal

🎻- Anyways, Shu would be best matched with someone that would try their best at any given game, especially if they're competitive

🎻- He also needs someone that's a major crash out and tweaks tf out when he ruins the game for them

Reiji Sakamaki

☕️- Reiji definitely needs a team player

☕️- He needs someone strategic and communicative so they can conspire together on ways to win

☕️- Here's a hint, he's open to blatant cheating if you do it in such a way that it doesn't technically count, except it so does

☕️- For example, you're all playing Monopoly. You offer to buy Ayato's property in exchange for yours except you KNOW that it's in between both of Reiji's properties, and the chances of him landing are extremely high and you and Reiji are in kahoots together so you both split the profits

☕️- See that's not technically cheating, that's playing smart

☕️- Reiji's best match would be someone who's competitive but also cunning. Ooh and never let him feel like you're the one in charge, he'll go crazy

Ayato Sakamaki

🏀- Well uh

🏀- He would want someone as arrogant and competitive as him, but is that what he needs? Absolutely not

🏀- Ayato needs someone level headed that can help balance out their team dynamic in order to win

🏀- He needs someone that'll see the flaws in his mistakes and take accountability for HIM because I have no idea if you could even convince him he even made a mistake in the first place

🏀- In short, Ayato needs someone to save that burning ship he's on

🏀- You need to be in control without specifically admitting you're in control, you need to be sneaky about it and make it seem like HE'S the one who came up with those ideas

🏀- The best example I can think of is when you're playing pictionary, you whisper something REALLY close to what the actual thing is and have him come up with the answer himself

Laito Sakamaki

🃏- Laito's best match would be someone who's a bit laid back and playful

🃏- While we all know Laito's extremely smart and can read people well, we need someone to bring out that side of him rather than takeover and never have him put his skills to use

🃏- He needs someone that'll force him to take the lead otherwise everything would just be a big joke to him and unless it's a game he likes, he genuinely does not care

🃏- You need to kind of be a Shu in this case

🃏- What I mean by this is, you need to tease him a bit, make him feel just the inciest bit insecure about his game skills. Tease him, make jabs at him, play mindlessly into the opponent's hands

🃏- Hmm this example would best describe what I mean. Imagine you're playing a game of Ludo and you roll a six and instead of moving your piece out of the way before it gets "eaten", you choose the option to unlock another of your pieces to the game. He goes nuts after your like 3rd time of this and subtly starts giving advice despite cussing you out in his mind

Kanato Sakamaki

🧸- Someone patient for sure but also extremely determined

🧸- You need to essentially gentle parent him to the finish line

🧸- Don't get mad at him when he makes a dumb move but let him scold you because you did

🧸- Kanato would work well with someone that's headstrong and has a clear view of victory. He needs someone he can trash talk the other players to, regardless if they're his brothers or not

🧸- Aside from him being batshit insane, he'd be a fun person to play with. He's smart and calculated in the emotional aspect of the game and he can read his players really well

🧸- He knowsss how to get under their skin and might even have a freak out if someone calls him out. Of course none of it is real, but what the others said DID hurt his feelings (just maybe not to that extent truthfully)

🧸- Kanato would work well with someone willing to put up with his antics, someone who's patient and well versed in the game they're playing

🧸- The only example for this scenario I can think of is imagine you guys are playing checkers or chess and Kanato stands behind you while outwardly critiquing your opponent's every flaw and making disappointed noises and distracting them purposely

Subaru Sakamaki

🥀- Similar to Kanato, he needs someone patient

🥀- Obviously his anger will be an issue, but you also need to be smart to be able to point out the flaws in his moves and communicate to him ways to win

🥀- See Subaru would pair great with someone that can tell him what to do clearly and precisely

🥀- You need to be the brains to his brawns, you need to think and act quickly

🥀- You also need to shit talk his brothers with him

🥀- Maybe they made a stupid move, why not try lightening the mood with some loud whispering about them

🥀- Subaru would act like he doesn't like the idea of game night, but by the time he has the dice in his hand, he's folded. And because of this, he needs someone that can have fun with him

🥀- He needs someone playful but yet a person that can lock in at any given moment

🥀- Even if you guys don't win, he'll make a comment on how fun it was in the end

🥀- Example wise, I can honestly only think of you guys playing Snakes and Ladders and you shake the desk while the dice rolls to give someone the exact number they need to get eaten by a snake and he's just in the background backing you up and vouching for you that you didn't do it, meanwhile he's trying so hard not to laugh his ass off

MUKAMI HOUSEHOLD HC’S

A/n: Long time no see!! Work and life got super crazy but I’ve been indulging in Diabolik Lovers again! Alongside that! For a few months I’ve been rewriting DL (more like my own au!!) just small tweaks and adding more realistic characterizations to characters I enjoy! So I decided to make a list of my headcanons for the Mukami household + Yui (she’s my beauty)

TW: slight mention and hint at abuse, mention of sexual abuse, mention of animal death

Take all of these at face value I’ve done my research to the best of my abilities and are basing this off of the things I’ve read, played, and watched! Plus my own little personal things!

- A quieter household. Each brother seems to have their own hobbies and tends to stick to themselves. This doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy each others company, they seem like the only group to like REALLY enjoy being around each other. Brother banter and all that nonsense.

- isn’t the safest but compared to the Sakamaki household Yui is in less danger. She actually spends more time pursuing schooling and smaller hobbies here without much backlash. Yuma and her garden often and Ruki helps her study. But of course this kinda stuff is paid back in blood so, you win some loose some

- Yuma will tease all 3 brothers for their height, I believe this may be canon? But it’s really Kou he has spats with over their heights. As an idol Kou is notoriously over dramatic and borderline narcissistic (and very full of himself) so he’s kinda pissy Yuma hangs his height over his head, but it’s all in good fun! (Usually)

-Yui and Ruki don’t really get along in the beginning. Which duh, but after a long period of time Yui began to get annoyed with being bossed around? I mean I would to, so he kinda grossed her out. Too much like an Ayato Reiji mix

- it’s mentioned either that in a CD or clip from more blood (the game) that Yui housed a kitten and was healing it back to health and Ruki killed it. This also kinda solidified their relationship into not being great. Yui believes very strongly in her morals and Ruki is one to oppose them. Meaning that in her eyes he’s cruel and in his she’s weak.

- Azusa is super interested in religions. Not like in them but he thinks the rules and regulations are kinda interesting to look into, he asks Yui a lot of questions about her faith and what it means to her.

- Yuma and Yui get along the best, the brothers were once human and I feel like don’t lack empathy to the extent pure bloods do. Course they will make comments that have Yui going “???” Because they are still entitled vampires

- The kinda group to have annoying ass orders at cafes. They don’t go out as a group much but when they get the chance they do. So when Yui joined she tagged along (of course they were like helicopter parents). Kou wants something sweet all the time so it’s either a milkshake/frappe nonsense, Ruki is the one who makes in super obvious he “just wants a black coffee. Black, no sugar or cream”, now Azusa’s order isn’t hard but he’s so quiet that it’s hard to catch it all so it’s usually made wrong on accident. Yuma sticks to the same thing but it’s a coffee with like 13 different steps that by the end it’s like a concoction of sugar, cream, flavoring, and coffee.

- Yui has an easy order, usually a tea. She avoids most coffee’s due to her sleep already being out of whack

- Yui has nightmares often due to the abuse she’s faced and she’s semi opened up to Azusa abt them in passing but tends to shut it down if pried.

- Ruki is stressed almost always. With the stress of being Adam kinda solely falling on his shoulders he doesn’t sleep often or even at all.

- this is supposedly canon but, Yuma likes bigger curvy girls in my mind :3

- Kou likes Kesha, Megan, and other female rap/pop artists. I also feel like Yui also dabbles with that kinda music but it isn’t her favorite

- Yuma’s the kinda brother that gives his brothers the faulty gaming controller :/

- Yuma and Kou smoke weed 100% idk I feel like they’d enjoy it, Ruki has a few times but usually just tells them off. Azusa has zero interest, Yui also has dabbled and she enjoyed it but getting high with like supernatural creatures can be… anxiety inducing?

- Ruki seems like one of those kids who’d have a super non trad kinda pet? Idk a snake or something. Not messy, loud, and chill

- Kou seems like the type to be sex repulsed often? He’s an idol and gets sexualized a lot in the limelight so bad correlation but even if he hates it he still does it to Yui

- Yui also is very sex repulsed

- yuma has a hard time coming to terms with his past with Shuu? It’s a weird grief thingy

- I feel like sometimes, only sometimes, they miss being human. I believe it’s semi mentioned already. But I feel like when Yui started living with them they started noticing that feeling more in an angry/sad way.

Will literally get super protective over you. He may be lazy but he isn't going to let his s/o be in danger while he is around. Shu does not play about you. He will confront the ex after making sure you are safe.

*Stops in his tracks* Oi, I'm only going to say this one time. Leave my s/o alone or your skull is kissing the pavement. Are we clear?

Reiji Sakamaki:

Keeps it so professional. He is direct and clear with the ex and if the ex gets violent or our of hand then Reiji will make sure you are protected and safe. Reiji will read this man down to the point that your ex will want to leave because of embarrassment.

"You again? Why am I not surprised." *walks up to the ex stalking behind a wall* I request that you leave me and my s/o alone as your presence is despicable to be around."

Laito Sakamaki:

Stalking your ex as your ex stalks you. Laito is highly intelligent. He already figured out about your ex stalking you before you realized and has studied everything about him. He keeps familiars around in case he isnt near you to protect you but Laito handles it without your knowledge. Laito gets real scary when people touch things that are his.

"I see you have taken an interest in my sweet bitch-chan~. She is adorable isnt she. *walks up to your ex and gets in there face* Unfortunately they are mine and mine alone and nobody is getting in the way of that."

Kanato Sakamaki:

Uhhh your ex would be dead. I would be surprised if anybody decided to bother you considering you have a yandere crazy teddy loving boyfriend by your side. But if an ex does decide to stalk and harass you to the point of you being in fear. Kanato will absolutely make sure he doesnt exist in your presence anymore. He is the only one you can be afraid of.

"Ne Teddy, this is what happens when foolish humans mess with what mine. My beautiful doll shouldn't be harassed by some scum. *gets close to his face* Dolly is mine."

Ayato Sakamaki:

Ayato not going for it. Ayato would be like "this the person you chose to be with before me?" But he would defend you and make sure you are okay. He not tolerating anybody bothering his pancake.

"Y/n I can handle it. You are dating the Ore-sama." *He smirks while looking at you* "As for you, ill break you if you come between whats mine."

Subaru Sakamaki:

Mama there's a car behind you. Subaru is crashing tf out if he finds out somebody messing with you. A fight would break loose if he sees your ex in person watching you. Big crashout and you gone either have to sit and watch or try to get some help before your boyfriend kills the guy.

"Hey whatcha looking you idiot! Stay the hell away from us or ill kick your ass!" *Stalks over yelling at your ex which causes a scene* *you sweat-drop as you realize that you are going to stop a fight*

Mukami's

Ruki Mukami:

50 shades of grey here will literally kill the guy but I doubt you would even realize that your ex is even stalking you in the first place. He is intuitive and very observant but he definitely don't play about his livestock. In the event that you are afraid of your ex stalking you then he will intervene and make sure this obsessive behavior stops quickly.

"Livestock, cover your eyes for me dear."

Kou Mukami:

Kou's fans will literally harassed the guy for messing with Kou himself but it will definitely be for you and your protection. The doc martens are LACED up and his fans will fight your ex themselves with Kou's help of course. However, if let's say his fans do not like you because you are with Kou then Kou will literally lose his shit. Kou is another scary one when it comes to his loved ones kind of similar to Laito. He already picked up on it way before you found out.

"Listen here...I know my kitten is very beautiful but I will kill you if i spot you near her again. You understand?" *His left eye glows red.

Yuma Mukami:

He likes to assert dominance and will literally either fight the guy or make your ex jealous on purpose. If your ex is a wimp then he is making him jealous so he gets the hint but if your ex is making you afraid to go out on dates then he is whooping his ass.

"Oi, keep ya eyes away from sow or you're seeing the mud! Tch, weird asshole."

Azusa Mukami:

Poor baby isnt a fighter but we all know what happened when azusa had Kanato's teddy bear. He will do any and everything to save you from your ex. If that takes him getting hurt then he will do for you. Azusa will try to be smart or sneaky with how he will keep your ex away from you. May take something from someone else and pin it on your ex or even use 'his bullies' to solve it.

♪ I’d like to think Shuu relishes in the holidays, especially Christmas.

Sure in the games he says—just like the other boys—that he doesn’t care for it, but deep down he does.

♪ It’s the feeling of nostalgia and peace he finds cathartic in realizing that just for a day, a small moment, he and his family can play house.

And sure, playing “house” does have its downsides—hence why he isn’t all for the act—the holidays brings out a side of him that many wouldn’t think to be possible. Especially for someone as reserved, withdrawn, and apathetic as Shuu.

For a moment—one could even describe him as human with his true love for Christmas.

♪ Even if they all know it won’t last, and once the clock strikes 12 it’ll all be over like some fairytale: don’t be surprised when you see Shuu sitting on his signature couch, lounging about by the fire place, listening to the crackles and basking in the soft aureate glow from the tree lights and lanterns plastered on the wall, with a small smile creeping up on his lips, as his sapphire eyes glisten with a comforting touch once his brothers open gifts and glee with excitement.

♪ That’s what keeps him going. The childlike innocence in the profound realization that this is what living was made for. All for the small, trinket sized moments he can softly admire like a pretty marble in his hand, softly turning it around should he wish.

♪ He’s also definitely a great gift giver.

♪ Since the boy is so attentive, even without trying, he catches onto the small things people mention—even in light mundane conversation. It makes for a good party trick when he outdoes everyone every year for the sheer amount of gifts he gives.

♪ In fact, one year, the Sakamaki boys were shocked to see how crazy the gift giving got—with each boy receiving 8-10 presents each. Not including the stocking stuffers and the advent calendars Shuu invested in.

♪ Since Shuu has so much money to spend, spending it on others gives him more gratification and self fulfillment in knowing he can make others smile—in a way, healing his inner child when being devoid of all things “fun” and “childish” due to his position as Heir to The Throne™️.

Shu: He would be sleeping on the staircase when he first saw the ghost but he doesn’t get scared by ghosts or spirits, if the ghost was making a ruckus he would get annoyed, but he wouldn’t care enough to be haunted , I don’t even think the ghost would want to haunt him, the ghost would get annoyed by the lack of reaction from this guy.

Reiji: he would just be drinking some tea in his room then feel a super cool breeze and all of his books would start to shake on his book case and slowly dropping one by one, then he would hear a voice whisper out, he would internally be screaming and panicking but wouldn’t move at all. He’d turn even paler than usual.

Ayato: he’d playing a game of darts with Laito when it happens, the target would drop to the floor, then slide across the room, he would look at Laito and they would instantly think it was the ghost of Cordelia so his reaction would be to start cursing it out and telling the ghost he’d kill it all over again.

Kanato: it would happen while he was in the graveyard singing his little songs, he wouldn’t get scared to be honest, he would try to talk to it but the ghost would get scared of him more than anything.

Laito: he’s with Ayato when it happens and he’s not too sure it’s the ghost of their mother due to the aura the ghost gave off, but he can sense some tragedy did occur to this spirit, he tries to tell Ayato to keep it down and that the ghost wasn’t Cordelia but Ayato refuses to listen.

Subaru: he’d be so pissed off a ghost was disturbing his flower time in the garden, he would also think it was his mother since the ghost caused all the white rose petals to scatter gently, it would shake him a bit but nothing too crazy.

To say that Reiji is an asshole is probably an understatement because he is highly insufferable right now with his arrogance and how much he looks down on others. LOL, he actually gave her poisoned tea just because she wanted tea when he was enjoying his tea in front of her. Although I have to say Yui is very naive to think that he would sincerely pour tea for her with that ego of his. He definitely seems like the type to experiment dangerous drugs, so I guess Yui will be his guinea pig? I will punch him soon but lmao thinking Yui should be so happy with tears at the chance to clean his tableware. Honestly, I wish she breaks them all but he's a crazy guy so I don't want her to suffer the aftermath lol. Okay, so he's obsessed with perfect things and when Yui broke the plate, he immediately lost interest because it was imperfect now. I wonder if he has an attachment to anything then? Aside from his obsession with Shu lol. Lol poor Yui having to be taught table manners by Reiji, she can't even eat in peace. I know it's for plot reasons but if I did not understand something in the homework from school, I would rather just not do the homework than ask Reiji😂 Oh okay, poor girl was forced to because Reiji was basically calling her shameful for asking the teacher and to ask him instead. Reiji walking into her room casually drinking tea whilst she's changing is just hilarious, what a guy. Trust Reiji to think she's so unclean he needs to scrub her himself when she bathes😂 I have to agree with Yui that it's actually pretty cute how Reiji likes spaghetti carbonara so much that he cooks it for himself so happily lmao. Reiji dancing with Yui at the party and then biting her in front of everyone to show who she belongs to was kinda hot tbh hahaha. I didn't think he would really try to kill Yui for finding out about it and reading his notes. It's actually kinda sweet and reassuring to see that Reiji was at the door of the manor waiting for Yui to come back as if he was going to rescue her. He's got a foul mouth but seeing him so attentively bandage her wound was actually really sweet.

I always thought Richter was just some random vampire from another family but he's their uncle?! I can't remember if it was mentioned before but if it was, I completely forgot that Cordelia is the Demon King's daughter. I can see why Richter would be hung up over Cordelia if he fought for her against his brother and lost, but now that Karlheinz's not treating her well and she's seducing everyone around her, of course he's going to fall for it considering how smitten he is with her. I wonder who Karlheinz's true love is, maybe it's a human like Yui?😆 I guess I'll commend Richter for his efforts on trying to forget Cordelia by wandering the world for hundreds of years. Honestly, with how much Richter loves Cordelia, I kinda wish she was worth it but she absolutely isn't and it's such a waste of such a good looking guy! Especially since she just uses everyone as a replacement for not receiving the love she wants from Karlheinz. It's kinda wild how Cordelia was able to ask Richter before her body got burnt to death to knife her heart out and transplant it into another body, and Yui just had to be that unlucky orphan to receive it, and since Richter didn't want Karlheinz to know about this and steal "her" for her use as the daughter of the Demon King, he gave her to a vampire hunter. I don't agree with Reiji on a lot of things but I definitely agree with him on Richter needing to reconsider devoting his heart and soul to another woman instead lol. It's actually really cute how much Reiji wants to save Yui and through this body takeover, we're getting to know how much he cares for Yui. To see him so angry when Cordelia injures Yui's body is very heartwarming. So the reason why Karlheinz got Yui as a vampire bride for the brothers was so she could give them her immense power that he sensed (from Cordelia's heart) and then they can kill him and take over as the head and he can finally die as he desires. I'm starting to really like Reiji with his retaliations against Cordelia. He's so right though, Cordelia makes excuses that she can't seduce as well in this body but if she was really such a great seductress, she should be able to do the same in Yui's body, seduction isn't just being physically attractive, she's nothing but a whiner. I have to agree with Reiji that if Karlheinz and Richter's relationship was broken because of Cordelia, it must not have been very strong. 90% of the issue was probably because of Richter's obsession with her so nothing they could do about it if Karlheinz wanted her for her powers and status and Richter wanted her for love. In the end, it's still such a waste for someone like Cordelia though.

Considering how cruel and terrible Cordelia was to the triplets, I'm enjoying Reiji get back at her and at the same time it's also nice to see Cordelia do things to Reiji that he had done to Yui so it kinda feels like a revenge for what he did in the beginning to Yui and it makes me feel a bit better hahaha. Otherwise, Cordelia is insufferable and I would like to get rid of her soon pls. So Cordelia was able to manipulate the names of the bride candidates and made Karlheinz basically choose Yui so that she can go the manor and kill Karlheinz herself? What? Beatrix wanted to die because of Cordelia? I guess she was bullied by her? Anyway I hated that Reiji kissed Cordelia even if it was through Yui's body, it annoyed me. Another time I agree with Reiji LOL, Cordelia making Reiji pray in a church and then pouring holy water on him is hilarious, she really is childish. Honestly, I wish we got more moments with Yui because we're literally stuck with Cordelia for the whole of the Ecstasy part! The little snippet we got with Reiji princess carrying Yui when Cordelia lost consciousness in the water wasn't enough! They were so cute getting to interact and talk to each other, especially when he told her his body automatically moves to save her and he doesn't know why. I think it's time for Reiji to stop suffering under Cordelia. It took the whole of Ecstasy but I'm so glad Reiji was able to develop the drug to destroy Cordelia and free Yui from her. As usual, Cordelia really is silly. It's also pretty silly how we never saw Richter again when he took so long to revive her lol. Richter had an off screen death?! Lol the poor guy. Considering all the crap we and they had to suffer, the ending really was not satisfying with just a kiss and blood sucking lol! That second ending with Reiji being captive to Yui's blood as she treats him like a servant is interesting, didn't expect that lol, I mean Reiji is physically stronger so you would assume he could suck her blood whenever he wants, unless he's so obsessed with her he doesn't want to hurt her?🥲 Well, the third ending was pretty sucky for everyone lol, Richter killed Reiji but Cordelia wasn't even grateful as the evil trash she is lol, Richter really needs to open his eyes. Honestly, the after story was quite underwhelming with how much we had to deal with Reiji not caring or understanding Yui's actions at all, it was sweet at the end when they reconciled but I think the other parts were sweeter so I expected better from this after story. It's pretty wild and hilarious how Yui actually likes getting whipped by Reiji now😂 Even though he's an ass, I do like it when he kisses her. I find it hilarious how much the game makes Yui bump into Shu just to piss Reiji off lmao, like we have not seen the other brothers besides like Ayato once or so. I'm pretty disappointed considering how much love he showed for Yui when Cordelia took over so now I'm sad lol. It really feels like three steps forward and then two steps backwards with this guy.

Overall, Reiji's route was average. Initially, I was turned off especially after Shu's route, and it really doesn't help that he's such an asshole lol. But, I really enjoyed knowing more about Beatrix, especially that Reiji was the one who killed her and knowing that he didn't get to feel satisfied killing her made me so happy, he deserves it lmao. Otherwise, admittedly, I have to say I actually did warm up to Reiji when he showed Yui gestures of kindness that he never showed before. I think the best was when Cordelia took over and you got to see how far he was willing to go to save her, whether it be enduring Cordelia's tantrums or going along with her antics. It just felt so sweet to see him do everything he could whilst in the background developing a concoction to force Cordelia out and get Yui back. I have to say, it took wayyyyyyy too long though because I feel like we had to suffer Cordelia for SO long. It was also tough to see such a beautiful man like Richter waste his time with someone like Cordelia, but I did enjoy the background on their relationship as well and with Karlheinz, on and the mystery of how Yui got Cordelia's heart. Those parts were really interesting but the ending definitely did not have the payoff I wanted after all that crap with Cordelia. Like, Reiji was so sweet when Cordelia took over, albeit he had some issues, but still sweeter than he generally was, and then when everything is over, we got the asshole back and I was like, well what was the point in the end? Anyway, some parts were enjoyable, some parts weren't and I have to say I was not that much of a fan even though I've always loved glasses dudes lol.

Ayato is slowly turning into the new “Yui” (she still gets hate too but yk less than other years) of the Diabolik Lovers fandom and I really thought the fandom was healing -jokes on me-

The way they complain about Ayato being too caring now inducing that he’s turning into a simp reminds me of the same people who complained about Yui for not fighting back and calling her weak for that. Let’s just let everyone enjoy whatever characters they want WITHOUT TRYING TO RUIN THEIR FUN ‼️

Also, why did Ayato even get so hated anyway? He was always one of the least horrible ones and right now, after all his development, I don’t find anything so unlikeable about him. He tries to see the good in others despite having such a past full of suffering. If I hear anyone say “because he’s too caring/dumb/immature” I will riot because why would it be bad to be caring with your girlfriend? He isn’t even as immature as people say. Isn’t this the same guy who took responsibility for things that were none of his business but he did so just to help others?

And don’t get me started on the fact he isn’t dumb at all. He’s an idiot because he’s uneducated but his brain power is above average. I played Reiji’s route awhile now and there was this chapter where Reiji helped Yui study for her math test but only after a timeskip she managed to get a right result while in Ayato’s after story, there was the same scene but with different characters and Ayato was able to learn very fast after Yui explained to him and even she found that amazing about him because he started getting all answers right. After I got interested in young blood, I came to the conclusion that he was the only Sakamaki brother who found something suspicious about the ceremony and planned to investigate it. I recall a few other moments but I’m curious to hear if you got a favourite one.

The reasons why some people start hating on certain characters, are incredibly embarrassing. Just tell me you didn’t pay attention to the story, without actually telling me that you didn’t pay attention to the story.

They had previously complained about him being too bratty and arrogant, but now that his true side has been revealed, they are still dissatisfied since he is not the "edgy and complex" vampire boyfriend they wanted him to be. Do you like such characters? Good for you but only because you have a preference towards those, doesn’t mean you should tell others how much their bias sucks… it’s just so uncalled??

As you said, something I have always found admirable about Ayato is his ability to be pure-hearted, despite his background. I can’t say anyone got much love yet… Beatrix was strict but she canonically loved both of her children, Christa was mentally ill and had her crazy episodes but it was shown that she still loved and cared for Subaru, and then there’s Cordelia, who truly didn’t show or feel any sort of love towards any of her children. In DF, I’m sure she regretted her actions but saying that she loved Ayato, Kanato and Laito would be an exaggeration. It’s no surprise that the triplets turned out so twisted when they didn’t get a taste of affection or kindness AT ALL. And Ayato’s side goes beyond that, since he literally was the piñata of so many characters.

In YB, he was used as bait, betrayed, and brutally knocked down by ghouls, as well as beaten up to the point of almost getting killed.

In Ayato’s character book, it was confirmed that Cordelia threw him in the lake every time he didn’t study. He had several near-death experiences as a result of her, and she frequently whipped and beat him up.

In the DF prologue, Carla and Shin sent the wolves to especially attack Ayato, not Yui, but Ayato thought they were going after her, so he sacrificed himself for her and used himself as shield so as she wouldn’t get hurt. He got severely injured that in some routes it takes a lot of time until he wakes up from the coma.

In Kino’s LE route, he burns Ayato alive and beats him up afterwards.

Last but not least, he got the Adam curse when he was a child and that’s so painful because it basically means drowning in a state of despair and insanity, until getting to taste something similar to that fig.

Didn’t count the emotional and mental abuse but the physical one was INSANE. Despite so much torture, even if some of his actions were wrong too, most of the time he continued to value his life and to be empathetic and forgiving to those who mistreated him.

Let's not forget that we're talking about vampires here, who will always be more wicked than humans because, although not inherently evil, they still have a predator instinct, but what's truly fascinating about Ayato's character is that he has such a good soul in spite of learning from an early age that there is no kindness in this world. It's no surprise that Karlheinz was taken aback.

Moreover, I thought everyone was aware that Ayato isn’t actually stupid?? A bunch of his dumb moments are merely used for generating laughter and they’re not meant to be taken seriously. People also need to understand that the Japanese audience loves this kind of characters. They consider him an idiot in the affectionate way, because the lack of knowledge and gullibility make him endearing in their eyes. They don’t think of him as a genuine idiot. After all, nobody would like a character who’s completely dense.

It’s true that he’s impulsive and uneducated, which leads to him making dumb choices but I agree that his brain works faster sometimes than the one of other characters.

One of my favorite scenes is the one in which he eavesdropped on Cordelia, hearing that she only gave Karl children for attention, and he was the only Sakamaki who rapidly succeeded in connecting all of the dots, regarding all of Karl's victims and him being the root of all evil, which was the best revelation reaction in DL. I also enjoyed how, while all of his brothers rushed to kill Karlheinz (except for Laito, who had no battle scene in his route), Ayato was the only one who was like, "I won't kill you because I'd lead your plan to success in that case," and he only killed him after Karl wanted to harm Yui. If you haven't played DF, I recommend saving Ayato's route for last because it provides the most satisfaction.

Don't be concerned about the length! I believe I wrote a lot as well haha, but that's because your ask was so interesting to read! You made some excellent points, and I'm glad you're one of those people that can comprehend a character! 🥹🩷

Diabolik lovers beach day headcanons (ﾟ∇^*)

•Reiji did NOT want to go, but Yui and the triplets annoyed him until he relented (he also knew the Mukamis would be there, and wanted to see his bf)

•Yuma and Ayato were the only one that actually went into the water

•Well, Yui also went, but only to where she could stand. Then she just stands there with her unicorn float and a virgin Margarita like: „this is so much fun :D“

•Ruki and Reiji are just sitting next to each other under an umbrella, reading, drinking cocktails and ignoring everyones bullshit

•Laito is getting bitches

•Shu fell asleep, so the triplets and Yuma tried to throw him into the water, but he did a 180 on them, and threw them in instead

•Azusa is walking along the shore and looking for jellyfish. Shu is with him, since the triplets wouldn’t leave him alone

•Azusa: „did you know that jellyfish (crazy fact about jellyfish)?“

Shu:

•Kanato is eating his 48th ice cream, with an excessive amount of sun protection: 2 umbrellas, 5 layers of sunscreen, the biggest sun hat you‘ve ever seen and THICC sunglasses

•He also gave Teddy the cutest swim shorts ever (English isn‘t my first language :/)

• @diabolikpersonals (check out their blog if you like diabolik lovers) drew a meme about Ruki burying Ayato, so that just happened. I don‘t make the rules

•Eventually the Tsukinamis show up. Carla joins Reiji and Ruki, and Shin immediately does a cannonball into the water, fully clothed

•Kino actually showed up at the same time as the Tsukinamis, but waited in his car for half an hour after they arrive, since he didn‘t want to be overshadowed by them

•When he arrives however, Him, Ayato, Yuma and Shin immediately do swim races

•Kou is DETERMINED to spend the whole day with Subaru. Poor guy just wants to chill, but every five seconds:

„Subaru, do you wanna go swim with me?“

„Subaru, du you wanna take a walk along the beach together?“

„Subaru, do you wanna get a cocktail with me?“

„Subaru, do you wanna play beach volleyball together?“

•Speaking of beach volleyball, Shin, Kino, Ayato and Yuma are doing that to. They had to separate Yuma and Ayato tho, or it wouldn‘t have been fair.

•At the end, with the combined forces of Yuma, the triplets, Shin, Kino and Yui they managed to get Shu wet. And died after

What is the diaboys favorite alcohol/ cocktail

Yahooooo new scenario! This time I’m gonna include everyone but not Carla and Shin ( because I still didn’t play their stories so I don’t know how they would react 😢)

Shu.

Shu likes the classics ;)

I feel that he would go with a cosmopolitan, classy but not too much, when he goes to a bar ( very rare) his first drink would be this.

But I sometimes when he feels a little bit more sparking he would get sparkling wine ( I just know that he know sooo much about wine)

Reiji.

Reiji he’s a whiskey man, I just know that in his free time he tries every type of whiskey possible .

Has a book that talks only about whiskeys and how to prepare them correctly.

But if he has to drink a cocktail he would choose a whiskey based cocktail, like an “Old fashion” cocktail.

Ayato.

Ayato, he drinks everything, like EVERYTHING, if you give him a beer he would say yes if you give him 6 shots of tequila he will just say “ I want some more, give me 10”, and everyone would look at him as if he’s crazy.

But now that I think he’s a tequila guy, he just want to get drunk, doesn’t care about the taste of the alcohol itself.

Raito.

Raito is a little bitch, so he would choose something sooo sweet like Mai tai.

He’s such a coloured cocktail guy, the more coloured the better.

Oh and super fan of fruity cocktails too, he just wants something fresh and sweet, that’s why every time he tries to make a cocktail he uses Malibu.

Kanato.

Now, Kanato likes sweet stuff and I have the perfect alcohol for him, it’s called Amaretto, is an Italian liquor ( and my favorite ☺️ I love sweet stuff too).

He would use this liquor everywhere even on some cookies or cakes.

He’s gonna go crazy if he can’t find Amaretto in the mansion ( he’s addicted, because me too 😛)

Subaru.

Subaru likes beer, simple but not that much because he likes very specific beer.

Sometimes he will fly all to Germany just to go to the Oktoberfest, he feels at home there, with all kinds of beers.

Ruki.

Ruki is the most red wine person ever, he only drinks red wine.

He likes the strong taste of it and has a whole place where he stores his old ass bottles, plus he has sooo many books about wine.

One time when he went to Europe in winter he discovered that some countries make hot red wine, that was a life change experience for him.

Kou.

Kou likes soju, he likes to do the tricks, and he likes the sweetness of the flavoured soju bottles.

But I think he likes even caipirinha, the sourness of the drink, I think he would do the cutest face when he drinks it ( like those babies that eat for the first time lemon).

Yuma.

Yuma for me he’s our Russian king, vodka.

All he drinks is vodka but not the vodka that you buy at the supermarket, he would make it in his house.

Or when he goes to Russia he would buy Russian vodka ( that is sooo different from European/ USA vodka)

But nobody outside of him wants to drink it (other than Azusa) because it’s too strong.

Fun fact: one time Kou tried and after 3 shots he got super drunk that he puked everywhere,

While Yuma was laughing his ass off.

Azusa.

Ok so as I said before Azusa is the only one that drinks yumas vodka because he LOVES Bloody Mary, he just loves to put sooo much Tabasco inside that one time when he was drinking it he was crying.

After that Ruki hide the Tabasco from him, but Azusa always knows where to find it .
