harold fetishizes leshawna pretty much from the get go, their first interaction is him saying that he’s never seen someone “like her” before and that she’s “big and loud” which is. gross. he also gets a massive borderline obsessive crush on her while barely even knowing her b/c they were on different teams and sends love notes that are, according to chef, “spicy”. it’s heavily implied that he’s only so interested in her because she’s black, esp the way he refers to her he mentions her butt a lot.

and im fairly sure leshawna knows this?? because after they have their whole moment on the dock when he’s eliminated she tells him that they are not dating and will not be dating. but it’s complicated. she does still say stuff from time to time to suggest she likes him (”i think that’s just the way with men- not you harold <3″ in her song about alejandro) but is still generally apathetic to his approaches. im fairly sure she admits to liking him but not wanting to date him in an aftermath show?? which seems to me that she genuinely likes him, but knows that he doesn’t like her for the right reasons and therefore doesn’t want to indulge him

which is sad.

so canon lesharold is deeply flawed and very Not Great, but i think it can be fixed fairly simply just by having them Have An Actual Honest Conversation. harold calls chris out on cultural appropriation in wt so i honestly think that he could see the error of his ways and work on his deeply ingrained racism once it’s pointed out to him. but considering how they are in canon i completely get why people dislike the ship and anything to do with it because like, i get it.

lesheather is an entirely different thing. but really depends how much u wanna deviate from canon imo.

Genuine question - what makes lesharold irredeemable? haven’t rewatched the show in a hot minute, so I’m genuinely asking bc I can’t remember any of their interactions besides Harold being whipped. i do get why lesheather is debatable though.
