Word of the day: crapulent. Used in antiquity to describe the feeling of a hangover from too much to drink or eat, was also used in context of flu like symptoms but not nearly as often. To feel crapulent is to feel as if you want to vomit. Crapulence is sickness occasioned by intemperance (as in food or drink).

Why do I create problems for myself?

A friend texted me randomly that they were watching a show on hulu called Reba that was "both corny and amazing" and had I seen it and I was like OMG I WATCHED THAT WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT and immediately hit play. I was eleven so I didn't remember many specifics just the premise which was enough nostalgia for me to thoroughly enjoy a show that is not the kind of tv that I would usually tolerate, but it's solidly a great sitcom within the laugh track genre. I had no idea there were six seasons, I thought it had maybe two. The other day I accidentally watched the last episode not realizing the sixth was a half season and already miss it. It brought me so much joy, her snark, her sarcasm, her slaps upside the head, no one does it like her. And man can that woman make a face and hold it for applause. Love Van! Love Barbara Jean! Kyra was my same age so watching the fashion develop was so fun! Also the most insane joke was when she returned to the show after a big absence she had to take because she developed anorexia, it was painful watching her in the episodes leading up to that. The disappearance was not acknowledged or explained at all within the show, but I guess this was a known thing at the time because her first episode back she comes in the front door and Van is like, "where have you been?" HUGE laugh, me loling. She replies, "I was getting something to eat." HUGE laugh, roaring applause, me mouth agape like OMG WHAAAT. Anyway this entire thing is utterly ridiculous but just wanted to give Reba a shout out cause it has made me so happy the last month and a half I have had the honor of watching this amazing American family thrive through teenage pregnancy and divorce.
