Mouthwashing Headcanons

I may be cringe...But I am free! This is my first time actively sharing my headcanons. Sorry if this sounds incoherent, these were partially done on impulse because I wanna share my love for this game!!!

(Note: There's no mentions of Post-crash here!) (Note #2: Yeah Anya has the most, she's a queen and deserves it!)

Anya 🌕

Early to mid-30s

Tall! I imagine she's at least 5'8 (and her sandals provide an extra inch of height as well)

She moved to America in her mid-20s

Lesbian

Growing up, her family placed many expectations on her. Academically, she went beyond most of her class, but as she got older, she struggled immensely with various insecurities over being "good enough".

It developed into her feeling very hyper-independent. She only considers it her final option.

It's...Partially the reason why she's so estranged from her family now.

Undiagnosed autistic (currently going through burnout)

Major reason why she kept failing medical school: She kept running out of money she earned from working hauls with Pony Express. Is in debt.

On the ship, she...Doesn't do much. With such a small crew, there's very little chance of anyone getting seriously hurt. And the food...Well, it's terrible, but not enough to make anyone sick.

She spends a lot of time (during the "workday") in her office. She likes playing the music while she studies in there. It's mostly ambient music.

Bands/Artists I'd think she'd like though: The Crane Wives, Mitski, boa (Maybe Big Thief as well?)

When the crew is playing a board game and it's getting intense, she'll go eerily quiet and have this intense glare!

Smokes often, usually when she's stressed. Unfortunately on this haul, she only packed one box, so she making them last as much as she can...

Also has a journal. She mainly uses it to vent her frustrations out. It's the only thing that will "listen" to her.

She's cold to the touch

After her first haul, she packed extra blankets. You can't tell me the Tulpar isn't cold 24/7!

Near-sighted! She wears contacts (I know this isn't the most original headcanon, but I wanted to mention this one!)

Born in Australia, raised in America after his family moved when he was young

Bisexual, but he didn't know for a long time (At least until his late 20s)

Parents had him when they were older. Both passed by the time he was 30.

Has been Jimmy's friend since middle school.

Kept finding himself surrounded by bad influences. Sometimes he'd get out of those situations...And other times he'd stick by Jimmy.

Doesn't have that much of a social life outside of Pony Express. As a pilot, it's a super demanding job.

Paul saw the chains, took off his shirt, shoes, socks, and walked down to the water's edge. He looked around to make sure I was ready to capture the moment and pretended to be chained. I didn't have a flash with me, but such unpreparedness forced me to make quick decisions🍃

There was no time to replace the film in the camera. I had a split second to react, but the photos only got better. Plus, the guys didn't have to wait for me to get ready for the shoot. I just became the background for them🍂

The creepiest shot of all was when John suddenly lay down on the ground and the other three looked down at him, as if he had passed out or died. They looked very worried. I took two colour photographs. One with John's eyes open, the other with his eyes closed. George put on John's glasses. He just picked them up quickly. This is a very strange story. I don't know why he did that🪷

Everything happened in seconds. One minute he stood, and the next he was lying down. Ringo put his hand on his head, and that was it. Only two shots."🌺

Her fighting was awesome, I love Cyrax protecting her and I LOVE Harumi not hesitating in kick Sektor’s ass when she threatened her! Sektor was lucky Cyrax intervened cause Harumi was NOT taking threats lightly!

And after we have Harumi beating up the soldiers holding her and standing up for Kuai! Look how her guard is up the whole time!

It's so good that she was the one who outed Bi-Han! She really said "Girl, this guy is full of shit!"

And the fact that her last act in the story was a merciful one!

Ever since this scene was leaked, I saw everyone making it all about Kuai, how "Oh, she's HIS moral complass" "HIS self control" ada ada ada!

But this scene is so much more about her and Cyrax! It's her way of repaying Cyrax for her mercy, protection and HONOUR, which is all Cyrax wants, to be an honourable warrior! And Harumi was the first to view her as such, she's the first to believe her and give her a shot at redemption!

Harumi is on Cyrax corner from the beginning and I think that speaks VOLUMES about her character!

I said all this just to emphasize the fact that not only they gave us a "for once, she lives" but also showcased what we have believed for A YEAR, that Harumi Shirai

Happy spring to all my beautiful people. I think spring might be my favorite season - it just feels like everything comes back to life. I always remember my springs in soft colors: pink, blue, green… it’s like the world gets painted again. 🎨

Flowers are one of the most magical things the universe has given us. I’ve always found it fascinating how they’ve been tied to femininity - delicate, romantic, a little melancholic, and full of meaning. They hold so much beauty, elegance, passion, and even a touch of sadness sometimes.

The smell of roses, jasmine, lavender, lilies, narcissus… there’s nothing like it. It’s the most perfect scent. In spring, I love wearing perfumes that smell like roses and daisies- it just feels right. Spring makes me feel so happy and full of life. 💓

Changing your name in borrower culture:

• Contrary to popular belief, often borrower names given by parents don't actually have a deep value, like with humans. They're often more than welcomed to change it however they wish, this is known as "to borrow a name".

• Some borrowers will change their name just because they found a nicer one, or they want to transition to one that fits more their current identity or their age. Some nicknames may transform into a borrowers' name, this is surprisingly common. This tradition is popular, especially reaching adulthood or even late teens, and some communities heavily encourage the borrowing of a name to signal a borrower is ready to get involved within the community. A borrower may have borrowed lots of names through their lives.

• Some people give their kids ‘baby names’. This is the case of names like ‘Peanut’, 'Raindrop', "Button" or ‘Seed’ and they are expected to be changed later on when the borrower finds their own identity. The new name shall be called the "Chosen name/true name", and it is considered demeaning/patronizing/sometimes mocking to insist on using the baby name of someone to address them (if you happen to know it); this happens a lot with parents and their young. Baby names lose their value the second they change it, so it's not really necessary to let others know what it was unless you want to explain the term to a human and get teased for one month.

🪲;; Some spelling has changed over time, transforming “Bird” into “Byrd”, for example. There is also a tendency of choosing shorter names, making "Leaf" or "Petal" one of the most common ones.

🪲;; Giving nicknames based on their skills, personality or appearance is very common. This tradition has developed from survival purposes but now it is considered cultural, a form of showing love and is especially seen from older borrowers to the young.

🪲;; Borrowers don't have middle names.

About last names: This depends on the family, some of them consider them superficial and have no last names. Some borrowers do HAVE last names, especially the ones living in communities. As with names, last names don't usually hold a deeper value and have very literal meanings. Most of them reflect the particular part of the landhouse their hideout is close by, whether it's the Clock, the Cabinet, the Shower, etc. Their last names may or may not be subject to change in case they move out, some could be slightly attached to them so they choose to keep it.

Generally speaking, when a borrower "marries" another and they move out, they'll get a new last name based on the location they're building their hideout on, which their children will inherit until they move out. This would make most Borrower's last names transitory.

(I feel like Xavier has been under some sort of immense pressure his whole life. Like to save humanity if that makes sense. The fate of Philos always resting on his shoulder even as a young prince, like knowing that would be his duty. Finding out what's done to keep Philos alive and taking the sole knowledge and responsibility to change that. Literally being the Savior (I love how this rhymes with Xavier😅) of Linkon and perhaps Earth directly and indirectly. And of course finding and protecting MC. Xavier is so underrated in many ways)

The only thing about laying with her like this is it was difficult to watch her breath beautiful face. He attempts to crane his neck to see her better, indulging in the feeling of her fingers on his skin, feeling her warmth, taking in her scent, soothed by the way her chest rose and fell with each breath and sentence. It was his undoing and his very making altogether.

"Neither." He says confidently, taking her chin in his hand to administer a soft kiss.
