Note
1-8, 13, 27, 35, 42, and 48, please?
1. What was the first piece of furniture you bought?
2. What proportion of your meals do you cook? Hmmmm. Breakfast is always cooked. And if it is cold cereal, then we can probably pull from one of the other two meals and even it out. But salads and sandwiches make up an unknown proportion of lunch and supper, and leftovers could be tricky because technically they were cooked, but if they aren't reheated, does it count for that meal?
3. Foaming hand soap or normal hand soap? Bar soap, thank you. Although normal might be a stretch since I typically get it from local vendors at craft fairs
4. Favorite chore? Taking the garbage out
5. Least favorite chore? Cleaning the toilet, plunging the toilet, etc
6. Most precious thing one of your pets has destroyed? Rue has chewed things she ought not, but she did not harm the coconut shell fragment that I keep out of fondness for my four-year-old self who thought it was THE COOLEST THING EVER. She did steal it off my desk and carry it outside and I was prepared to be heartbroken, but it's fine
7. Any groceries you've been getting into lately? Well, the store seems to be stocking a different brand of coco powder every time I need more so that's fun... They've all given a slightly different flavor and texture to my morning hot chocolate but I'm trying not to get attached to any of them since it keeps changing
8. What cleaning product do you swear by?
13. Which filter are you most likely to go "eh, it's probably fine" when you find out you need to change it? *hides* *from an unknown location you hear the hesitant answer* ...the furnace filter?
27. Do you prefer Boardgame Night, Build-Your-Own-Pizza Night, or Movie Night with your friends? There's a weekly pizza night, and I'm the one who orders the pizza most of the time, so if I stretch the definition of build...
Boardgame days are fun too, but far rarer occasions
35. Aisle at the grocery store you never bother walking down? I can safely avoid paper products most of the time
42. What's an unjustifiably expensive appliance that you really want? I saw a video of an early oscillating fan--non electric! So cool! Not sure if any replicas exist but if I ran across either an original or replica I would be very very tempted
48. If you could build your home from scratch, what outrageous feature would you want to build into it? I would want at least one secret passage and a dumbwaiter large enough to ride up and down. Also a tower. A conservatory. A planetarium...

For the "Ask Meme for People in their 30s" (or 40s): 1, 15, 28, 30, 40, 50, 69 (all of those questions were great and it was hard to choose)
(From this post: https://krakenartificer.tumblr.com/post/755367206867681280)
1) First piece of furniture you ever bought?
A tempurpedic mattress. Prior to that, I acquired furniture by waiting until an older friend or relative moved, and then grabbing whatever they decided wasn't worth the effort of moving.
Like a year later, I divorced, and lost that bed in the Dividing Of Stuff.
Nowadays I acquire furniture by letting my mother-in-law know we're in the market for a {whatever}, and she gleefully grabs at the excuse to go to garage sales, and sometime in the next 3-12 months, a high-quality {whatever} shows up in my driveway.
So I think that even now, the only piece of furniture I own that bought is a standing desk that I got at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore when they were on sale for like $100 near the start of the pandemic.
Huh.
15) Do you go down each aisle when you grocery shop, or only the ones you know you need stuff from?
Most definitely the latter. Somewhere in school, as part of some unit (nutrition?? Introduction to Adulting???) it was mentioned that most of the healthy food is on the edges of the store, and most of the expensive high-profit crap is in the aisles, so I have been avoiding the aisles for 30 years or so now, and it's just a habit.
I only do "oh shoot we forgot" grocery runs, though; my spouse does the "real" grocery shopping. So I might behave differently if I needed more than 5 things on any given run.
40) Grocery list or no grocery list?
Oh good heavens, definitely grocery list. Even though I'm only getting 5 things, definitely grocery list.
If there are only 3 things, I might not make a list. But I probably would, on the assumption that I'll probably think of another thing I need before I get to checkout, and then there will be 4 things, and then I'll need a list.
ADHD pro tip: write things down. Your brain sucks at this, and it can be solved with literal stone age technology. Just write it down.
30) How many pairs of scissors do you own?
There is absolutely no way I could possibly guess. Lots. I buy craft scissors once or twice a year, but I lose craft scissors once or twice a year, and honestly, I couldn't estimate how many I've purchased or how many I've lost, much less guess the balance.
50) Pro or anti throw pillows?
Super-torn, tbh. I They're not like, comfortable? Or useful? And I'm opposed to just random decorative shit that serves no purpose except to show off how stressed out about good at arbitrary housekeeping standards you are.
But also, there is no better item than a throw pillow for embroidering "I am going to relentlessly believe in you and there is nothing you can do to stop me" on and then throwing at your friends when they're engaging in negative self-talk, so ....
torn.
69) Are your garbage bags scented or unscented?
Oh, unscented. Commercial scents are The Worst.
28) Answered here: [x]

Fitout Services: Crafting Seamless Spaces for Inspired Living
In the ever-evolving landscape of interior design, one term that stands out with remarkable significance is "fitout services." This specialized domain plays a pivotal role in transforming architectural visions into tangible, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces. Fitout services represent the artisans of interior design, seamlessly merging creativity with practicality to craft environments that reflect individual styles and purposes.
**Understanding the Essence of Fitout Services**
Fitout services are not merely about furnishing a space; they encapsulate a comprehensive approach to interior design. The journey begins with a meticulous understanding of the client's vision, space requirements, and functional needs. Whether it's a commercial establishment, a retail space, or a residential dwelling, fitout services delve deep into the intricacies of space planning, furniture selection, color schemes, and lighting.
At the core of fitout services lies the ability to optimize functionality. This involves a thoughtful layout that maximizes the available space, strategically placing furnishings to enhance flow, and incorporating design elements that serve both form and function. The result is an environment that not only looks appealing but also serves its intended purpose seamlessly.
**Versatility in Application**
One of the remarkable aspects of fitout services is their versatility. They cater to a diverse range of spaces, adapting their expertise to meet the unique demands of each project. In commercial settings, fitout services create offices that inspire productivity and collaboration. Retail fitouts focus on customer experience, strategically designing layouts to encourage exploration and boost sales. In residential projects, fitout services tailor designs to match the lifestyle and preferences of the occupants, ensuring a personalized and comfortable living space.
**Commercial Fitouts: Enhancing Productivity and Impressions**
In the corporate world, the impact of a well-executed fitout service extends beyond aesthetics. Thoughtfully designed offices contribute to a positive work environment, fostering employee morale and productivity. Collaborative workspaces, ergonomic furniture, and strategic lighting are integral components optimized by fitout services to create conducive work environments.
Moreover, in the commercial sector, fitouts are a reflection of brand identity. The design elements, color schemes, and overall ambiance convey a message about the company's values and ethos. It's not just about creating a space to work; it's about establishing a visual identity that leaves a lasting impression on clients and employees alike.
**Retail Fitouts: Shaping Customer Experiences**
In the retail industry, fitout services play a crucial role in shaping the customer's journey. The layout, design, and ambiance of a store significantly influence a customer's perception and purchasing decisions. Fitout services strategically design retail spaces, considering factors such as product placement, aisle flow, and overall aesthetics to create an immersive and engaging shopping experience.
A well-designed retail fitout captures the essence of the brand, enticing customers to explore and interact with products. It goes beyond the functional aspect of displaying merchandise; it's about telling a compelling brand story through the careful orchestration of design elements.
**Residential Fitouts: Personalizing Living Spaces**
When it comes to homes, fitout services become the architects of personalization. Residential fitouts are a testament to tailoring designs to the unique tastes and preferences of homeowners. From conceptualizing luxurious bedrooms to designing functional kitchens, fitout services create spaces that resonate with the lifestyle and personality of the occupants.
Attention to detail is paramount in residential projects. The interplay of color schemes, the selection of furniture, and the optimization of available space are carefully orchestrated to ensure a harmonious and comfortable living environment. Revealing the Primary Advantages of Hiring Professional Painters for Your Home Painting Projects
As spring arrives, the inclination to rejuvenate living spaces often arises. While a new paint job can bring vitality to a room, the choice between DIY and professional house interior painting services holds significant importance. This article delves into seven compelling reasons to choose professional painters, avoiding the pitfalls and regrets often linked with DIY endeavors.
1. Equipped with the Proper Tools
While the typical homeowner might possess a few paintbrushes, a decent roller, and a paint tray stored in the garage, what they often lack are the optimal brushes and rollers for the task.
Are you aware that various types of paint necessitate specific brushes (and rollers)? Your professional painter certainly is!
Let's not underestimate the significance of high-quality drop cloths. They are essential for safeguarding your floors and any furniture pieces too cumbersome to move.
Contractors specializing in residential house painting not only bring the right tools but also possess the expertise to employ each one effectively. Another advantage? They own the tools, eliminating the need for you to invest money in items you might only use once.
2. Color Experts in Painting
When you are enamored with the latest color of the year from your preferred paint manufacturer, there's a potential risk of selecting a shade that might not harmonize with your home. It's conceivable that you didn't anticipate the possibility of the color you love creating a sense of claustrophobia in the room.
Wouldn't it be preferable to seek a professional opinion before investing in the wrong color?
Individuals dedicated to painting as a career have a genuine passion for color. Painters are more than willing to offer insights into the best color choices based on your preferences and lifestyle. Whether you're contemplating an entirely new color palette, they possess the expertise to assist you in selecting complementary colors rather than ones that clash.
3. Experienced Professional Painters
Whether you're updating a single room or giving your entire home a makeover, the transformative impact of fresh paint is unmatched. A high-quality paint job can invigorate a space, while a less-than-stellar one might make you want to close the door to avoid the discomfort of mismatched walls or noticeable paint imperfections.
The difference becomes evident when a homeowner chooses the services of a professional painting team.
Professionals have devoted years to perfecting their craft, and their expertise is clearly reflected in the final results they deliver.
An experienced painter has handled a diverse array of painting projects, mastering every imaginable type. They have successfully navigated both common and intricate challenges associated with residential painting.
It's easy to grasp the immense value that a professional painter brings to the table. Their wealth of experience alone justifies the decision to enlist their services.
4. Expertise in Paint Products
Have you ever found yourself standing in the paint aisle at the hardware store, feeling overwhelmed by the multitude of paint types available? Labels that offer minimal insight into the actual product, along with confusing terminology such as low-VOCs and no-VOCs, can contribute to the confusion.
Lacking knowledge about using specific paint types in areas like your bathroom and kitchen might lead to unintentionally choosing a paint that attracts mold instead of resisting it. Consider the implications if someone in your home has allergies or if you have a furry friend.
A professional team of house painters Adelaide is well-versed in paint products and will guide you in selecting the most suitable paint for each room in your home. This ensures you achieve the best finishes, making tasks like cleaning up after your beloved pet much more manageable.
5. No Preparation Needed
If you've ever taken on the task of painting a room in your home, you're well aware of the extensive preparation required before that initial brush stroke. From cleaning the walls and patching holes to addressing lingering water stains from last spring on the ceiling, the checklist can be exhaustive.
Do you really want to spend several hours on wall preparation? And let's not forget the inconvenience of lifting area rugs and rearranging furniture!
Professional painters grasp the vital importance of preparing the painting surface. They invest the necessary time in cleaning and prepping, ensuring that your chosen shade—be it a beautiful vintage blue—adheres effectively and withstands the demands of your daily life.
Painters not only prepare for the job but also take care of the cleanup afterward. It truly sounds like a win-win situation for you!

okay I got a lot done today, matt helped out a lot too. arin was really out of it when she first called but it was just because she was driving and she sounded mostly fine once she called back from work. she said she's feeling better than yesterday.
the cats were feeling terse in the evening but they're both asleep on the couch beside me now. minerva is at my shoulder and jackie is at my knee. also I successfully did not talk myself out of buying stuff I needed and also a few things I wanted.
we went to lots of places, and since matt's lived in this area his whole life he told me stories while we drove around. I found boots that I am very very very happy with, they're actually work boots that happen to be cute instead of cute boots I drag into being functional. I didn't find any good enough sneakers, but we got just enough under-bed bins to unpack all the clothes I wear regularly, and just enough little bins to organize my little piles of clutter. and I got a cute new laundry basket that's very clearly mine, since we're each gonna keep our hampers separate. I only got some socks for clothes while we were out, but I ordered a pair of leggings and a pair of sweatpants that I'd already found as backups if the stores were no good. I also ordered a new bath pillow and 2 new big big big bath towels (that are also Clearly Mine because they're Colors), and a shelving unit to put in the bedroom since I have so much space and if I get it now I can put a bunch of my stuff away and feel way better for the month and change until the rest of my stuff (including my furniture) gets here, without it being redundant.
I also got wheeled around the craft store to look at resin stuff (I walked at some stores when I knew it would be quick, and got wheeled around in the transport wheelchair at others so I could take my time), and there were lots of really good glitters and stuff hiding near the kids crafts aisles, like with the slime stuff! and I got a few little bezels and some resin and resin dyes, and I ordered the rest of the stuff I want when I was ordering my leggings and stuff and did not talk myself out of any of it. little mixing cups and a uv lamp and shaker charm molds.
then I did a bunch of unpacking and some computer stuff (including the shopping for the stuff we didn't get in person), and matt made stew and watched baseball. once I finished my Important Computer Stuff (as opposed to my Look At The Internet computer stuff) I flopped down to cuddle for a bit since I do actually want to get to spend time with him I'm just also. Very Driven.
I also took a bath and the shape of this bathtub fucking sucks it's a very good thing I didn't talk myself out of buying the new bath pillow that will be better for it than the old one anyway.

Under the Covers - Bucky Barnes
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous.
Prompt: making blankets together, from the fall writing prompts. A/N: For some reason when I got this request I couldn’t stop thinking about this tweet from a few years back. I edited it to fit the time line, but yeah, this took a turn. I hope you enjoy! Please send in more fall requests!
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader Word Count: 1,291 Synopsis: After sending Bucky an inappropriate tweet, the reader and Bucky make blankets to cuddle under.
Warnings: mentions of sex
“What are you smiling at?” Sam asked, dropping into the seat next to you.
“You know how we’ve been working on ingratiating Bucky into modern culture? Making him watch popular movies, try out stupid internet challenges, stuff like that?”
“Yeah.”
“I’ve been sending him tweets that I think are funny, and he almost never understands them,” you said, laughing to yourself. “And I just found a good one.”
“Show me.”
“I don’t know if I should,” you said, turning your screen off.
“Why not?”
“It’s inappropriate.”
“Even better,” Sam said, reaching for your phone. You took it from his hands and let out a sigh.
“Okay, I’ll show you, but don’t judge me too much, alright?”
“Deal.”
Tumblr media
“Jesus,” Sam said, handing the phone back to you with wide eyes.
“It’s totally gonna freak him out,” you said, smiling again. You sent the tweet to Bucky, eager to hear his response.
“You two have a very strange relationship.”
“You’re just jealous.”
“It’s not that,” he said with a smile, “But I am going to get out of here before he sees that and comes to find you.”
“Good idea.”
“Good luck.”

“I don’t understand,” Bucky said, sighing at you in the fleece fabric aisle of the craft store.
“What’s not to understand? You pick out two fabrics and we make a blanket out of it.” You picked up a pattern with skulls but put it back down.
“You sent me a tweet about,” he looked around the aisle, his voice dropping low, “Sucking dick.”
“I did. Did that make you think something was going to happen?” you asked, looking back at him with a smirk. Bucky rolled his eyes at you and looked at the multitude of fabrics in front of him.
You came up next to him, resting your chin on his shoulder, waiting until he looked at you. He gave you a tired smile.
“Sometimes I feel like you try to confuse me.”
“It’s not my intent,” you said, giving him a soft smile. “How am I supposed to suck your dick under the covers if we don’t have any blankets to get under?” Bucky took in a breath and shook his head. He kissed your forehead.
“Alright, let’s pick out fabrics.”
“Yay! I’m thinking we do a fall theme?”
“Maybe,” Bucky said, seriously considering the fabrics in front of him. “But I do really like this purple unicorn one.” He pulled out the fabric and you snorted. The fabric in question was covered in a blue and purple galaxy design, with sparkly unicorns and shooting stars all over it. “Cute, right?”
“So cute,” you agreed. “Put it in the cart.”
For the next twenty minutes, the two of you went up and down the aisle, throwing different rolls of fabric in and out of the cart. In the end, you decided on a witchy cat pattern, a leafy one, a colorful pumpkin one, and the purple unicorn one.
By the time you got home, you were both exhausted, but determined to make these blankets. You were sure that Bucky was excited about what might come after the blankets were made, but he was still excited to make the blankets.
You sat on the floor of your small apartment with him, pushing your furniture out of the way so that you could both lay the fabric out flat. You explained the process to Bucky and noticed a frown on his face.
“What?” you asked.
“I don’t think I’ve ever made anything.”
“What?”
“I don’t think I’ve ever made anything by hand, just for myself.”
“You made us dinner the other night.”
“That was because we needed to eat,” he said, looking down at his fabric. You frowned at him.
“Well, you better make a damn good blanket then,” you said. He looked up at you with a gentle look on his face. There was something unreadable there, something you hadn’t seen on his face in some time. “And if you don’t, well, we can still get under the fabric together.”
You stood up and Bucky gave you a confused look. “Where are you going?”
“We need proper music,” you said. You selected your Halloween playlist and Monster Mash started to play. You danced back to your sections of fabric and Bucky laughed at you.
For the next half hour, you danced and sang along to the Halloween playlist, offering Bucky tips as the two of you cut sections of your blankets and made a hundred little ties. You finished up first and moved over to sit by Bucky. You watched as he finished up the last of his ties, watched every movement of his hands almost hypnotically.
“You’re staring at me.”
“You are making impressive work,” you said with a shrug, “I like seeing you make those ties.”
Bucky just smiled at you and leaned in to kiss you. You closed your eyes as your lips met his, and in a instant, Bucky had the blanket over the two of you. In the dark of the blanket, Bucky’s hands were on you, exploring your skin as he kissed you passionately.
You wrapped your arms around him and drew him in close, needing his body weight on top of you. His lips trailed down your neck, and just as you were about to moan his name, you heard the door slam shut.
You both sat up, the blanket still over top of your heads. Bucky threw it off and you saw Sam standing in the doorway, a look of disgust on his face.
“This is a common space. You couldn’t wait to jump each other’s bones until you were in your room?” he asked. You laughed, hiding behind Bucky’s shoulder.
“I’m sorry, Sam,” he said,
With your mood officially killed, you stood up and followed Sam into the kitchen. When he barged in, you didn’t immediately see that he also brought Chinese food with him. While eating, you showed off your blankets to him and he seemed less than impressed.
Once you all were done eating, Sam left, not wanting to hang out for another moment with the two of you.
“I’m exhausted,” you said when you shut the door behind Sam.
“Let’s go to sleep,” Bucky said, grabbing your newly made blankets off the back of the couch. In your bedroom, you flopped down on the bed and Bucky laid down next to you. He threw both of your fleece blankets around you, his under yours.
“Yours is so much better than mine,” you said. Bucky laughed in disbelief. “It is. You should take up sewing or crocheting next.”
“I’ll think about it,” he said, pulling you into his arms.
“I could watch you use those needles all day long. Oh, that reminds me. I promised you--”
“It’s late, Y/N,” he said, kissing your forehead. “You look exhausted.”
“But I promised.”
“I don’t care. I’m exhausted, too. I just want to lay here in these beautiful blankets, well, my beautiful one and your mediocre one--”
“Shut up,” you said, shoving his shoulder playfully.
“I just want to lay with you in these blankets and get some sleep. It’s been a long day,” he said. You sighed in his arms and closed your eyes.
“Fine, but first thing in the morning, we’re going under the covers.”
“If you insist, I guess I won’t stop you,” he said, smiling against your forehead. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”

𝐈𝐤𝐞𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 | ft. T.Oikawa, K.Tsukishima, O.Miya, & K.Sugawara
Tumblr media
Synopsis: After finally getting a place together, you and your s/o go furniture shopping at your favorite store on Earth—Ikea 😍
Contains: Fluff
Posted: 1/5/2021
A/N: Hi um this is my first time doing headcannons and also my first post of 2021, but I don't wanna go to sleep so I’m gonna write these instead! Ikea is one of my favorite places to go to so I think this would be really fun. I also have been binge reading Ikea headcannons. This may or may not just be an excuse to think about domestic life with Oikawa...
Tumblr media
𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐮 𝐎𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐰𝐚
Oikawa is the type of person to go into those little show rooms and say “This is it! This is our apartment right here”
He gets distracted by every little thing, and I mean every little thing
Mans is like a whole ass child.
You guys could be walking by the TV consoles and he’ll just leave the cart in the middle of the aisle to go look at—and fantasize—about where that specific red metal locker-looking TV console would go
He’ll run up to different displays, point to them, and turn to you with literal sparkles in his eyes and go “Y/N! Y/N-chan! Wouldn’t this go great in the living room?”
You enjoy seeing his child-like smile as he eagerly visualizes how your apartment would be decorated so you let him play interior designer
He honestly is pretty good at creating a cohesive room and you firmly believe that if he wasn’t married to volleyball, he’d definitely be doing something creative
Definitely checks himself out in the mirror section
Tumblr media
𝐊𝐞𝐢 𝐓𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐚
This man looks bored out of his mind
You’re like running around the store picking up different things and putting them back, throwing stuff into the cart, asking him whether he prefers the canvas or fleece throw pillows, and he’s just pushing the cart and smiling at you
After playing around with the strings of a questionable looking chandelier(??), he remarks that “it’s the ugliest lighting fixture I’ve ever seen”
You’re definitely excited enough for the both of you
He trusts your judgement in the furniture choices for the new place, as he doesn't particularly care, but he makes sure to tell you if something is absolutely horrendous
Acts pretty indifferent until you get to the kids section
He’ll quickly and smoothly slip away from your side to go look at the dinosaur plushies
“You’re a grown ass man and you’re still looking at stuffed animals?”
“Pfffft no,” he says while rolling his eyes and gently placing the triceratops back into the bin
“It’s okay. It’s cute,” you say while placing a chaste kiss on his cheek and throwing the toy into the cart before running away
Tumblr media
𝐎𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐮 𝐌𝐢𝐲𝐚
Osamu’s favorite part about going to Ikea is visiting the restaurant before the shopping begins, and the little eatery by the registers at the end
This man is counting down the seconds until he can eat one of those warm cinnamon rolls
Nonetheless, he proves to be pretty useful in the decision making between furniture
You can kinda go crazy while picking what to put in your new apartment, but he’ll be there to remind you if something won’t fit or if something doesn’t go with the rest of the decor
Let me tell you, this guy is a whole wanderer
You’re the one left pushing the cart most of the time because he’ll just walk away from it to go look at something else
At the same time, he’s also the type to go into those faux apartments, sit on the couch, and tell you to go look around while he waits there
Will sneak up behind you while you’re looking at picture frames and give you a lil tap on your ass when no ones looking so he can see your cheeks flush red
You guys probably pick plants for each other when you get to the end
Tumblr media
𝐊𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢 𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐚
You’re both equally crazy
Like borderline getting kicked out crazy
At least one of you owns one of those limited edition Ikea bucket hats
Neither of you can be trusted with the cart
You’d both be feeling up all the rugs in the carpet section and then it’ll click
Both of you look up at each other at the same time, your eyes wide, like “Where’s the cart?!”
It’s safe to say that at the end of the day, your place is going to look like an organized mess
Colors and shapes clashing in all the right ways
It’s almost abstract?
Anyway, you guys are probably taking turns sitting on all the mattresses, all the chairs, and all the sofas you come across
At some point, when you both get tired of running around, you find yourself standing behind the counter of one of the kitchen displays imagining what your new life’s going to be like, when Suga suddenly comes up behind you and hugs you by the waist
“Can you believe it?”
“Believe what?” you say turning around so that you’re facing each other with your back against the marble island
“This could be our kitchen,” he took a step forward to trap you between his arms, “We have a home, baby”
“I wouldn't have it any other way,” you whisper into his ear as you snuggle your face into his neck, taking in his scent like there's no tomorrow
He spins you around and says, “Let’s go,” to continue your adventure
You find it really cute that he makes sure to get some of those arts and crafts supplies for his class
