What is your ocs' beta idea ? like, what were they supposed to be before becoming who they are in the realm of where they're a canon character ?

FOR EXAMPLE:

For me, before Niko became who he is, he was originally going to be the 4th Harbinger, Coviello with an Electro vision but Hoyo decided to scrap that in favor of Arlecchino and since they didn't want to scrap him as a whole, they decided to make him his own character with his own story and arc. That's why he has so many similarlies to Arlecchino (both being spider themed, dark colors despite Niko being Anemo, their story involved being in HoTH, ect...)

working on some writing

currently super into genshin impact; so a bit of a story time. about a year and a half ago, i made a genshin character and started working on a story with him in it. he's one of the fatui harbingers (this was before it was released that all slots of the harbingers were filled and had appearances), and when i dug him up again about three months ago, i abandoned him because i realised that obviously...... there was nothing i could do, the slots were taken and for some reason i was really strict about remaining lore-accurate in all of my writings or work. i've since abandoned that slightly; you can never remain one hundred percent accurate in the world of genshin lol. well, i just dug up a fanfiction i was working on with said oc, as well as tartaglia and diluc. its actually an interesting premise, and i actually wrote it really well (shocking as this was at a time my writing was... lacklustre), so i'm considering keeping it. i had this idea of 'backup harbingers' since there are only eleven, and there are a lot of commedia del'arte characters. so here's the sitch: i want to work on this story and publish it on AO3, but i need some help with characters. i want to make three 'backups', alongside my character. i was mainly looking at coviello, burattino, and lelio, and i'd be open to having suggestions for designs and such for each! (my character is taking the spot of brighella) so, if anyone has any ideas, feel free to lmk and comment, or dm me! feel free to branch into any of the nations because i think it'd be cool if there was one who was stationed in fontaine or even in one of the current nations. thankz all!

I don’t have any backstory lore at the moment, but it is in the works! Keep your eyes peeled~

The idea behind miss Coviello is that she is promoted post-Childe’s-Near-Destruction-of-Liyue-post-Signora-Dying-post-Shouki-no-Kami as the 6th of the Fatui Harbingers.

This is to fill a space that has been empty for hundreds of years.

A Snezhnayan diplomat and fierce combatant, Lady Coviello aims for one thing and one thing only: the execution of the Tsaritsa’s will by any means necessary.

crys(@/crystalflygeo)'s storyline! i would have wanted to see more of the deer adeptus and how she would have tried to save meirin somehow. alas the world is storyblocking us ugjshfkdhdld curse you timezones waaaargh ;(((

also queen(@/queen-belial)'s storyline too. i think it was wrapped in a neat conclusion and everything, but i wonder what other directions it could have gone if we had the time haha

wriothesley and al haitham! considering they weren’t in my actual official og bias list (but they’re still my faves), i would have been able to actually ‘acknowledge’ them without getting a strike. so i think i could have had more interesting shenanigans had they actually came into the story haha

for example, if someone had brought in wriothesley, i could have highlighted coviello’s wariness to cryo wielders more, or played around with the idea how his innate ousia energy was somehow resonating with god’s remains (bc i kinda believe ousia and erosion has ties to abyssal power // not canon).

i wish i could have sent out more asks to ansy (@/ask-genshin-court — mainly because i knew they were definitely up to something. there was a plot there for sure. it’s ansy for archon’s sake. AND I WAS RIGHT WASN’T I?!!!?!?) and dresvi (@/floraldresvi — i wish i could have visited her as coviello more, or sent her messages as baizhu charanon)!! and i wish i had the time to check out other blogs too ;;; ah well. can’t have my cake and ate it too i guess.
