hi i havent post in a while, have some bnm swap au ss redraws, explanation of the au under here

ok so the au is essentially a swap au between billy and jr, for the sake of simplicity im calling the au cousinswap. here's some full designs (i changed some of their names too)

jr is now just a regular child who won a bet and is now friends with grim just like billy is

billy is a half nergaling who can shapeshift, in this au he killed bobby and used his form as his human form

nergal (now called nigel) is just a guy but he's still a loser, gladys is now a nergal creature but she mostly stayed the same personality wise

Sided with the mages

Helped Redcliff fight, and used the mages to expel the demon

Made peace between the Dalish and the Werewolves

Sided with Caridin, killed Branka and destroyed the Anvil

Alistair became King-Consort beside Anora

Preformed the Dark Ritual himself

Allowed the Architect to live, and protected both Vigil’s Keep and Amaranthine

Champion Malka Amell

Worked for Athenril’s smugglers

Sent Feynriel to the Dalish, then Tevinter

(This choice is very different from what I think she’d pick in the canon timeline, but this version of her is so much more confident in magic and other mages. She never grew up in the Circle, so she didn’t internalize all that self loathing and develop a martyr complex. She’s still Andrastian, but now she’s more naturally open to interpreting her faith seperatly from Chantry dogma.)

Helped Merrill rebuild the eluvian

Disagreed with (or rather, was completely horrified by) Anders’ actions, but did not kill him.

How would the episodes The Loser of The Center of The World and Substitute Teacher be like in your Cousinswap Au (for The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy)? (I am very interested)

hi i was planning to illustrate the answers but i plan on doing an actual in universe qna soon so have this leftover for now,

i imagine the episode loser from earth's core would have gladys leave her family and staying at jr's house but for very different reasons from nergal, basically for gladys the catalyst for her leaving is harold accidentally eating sniffles (her pet who's a demon monster thing in this au) it drove her mad to the point of leaving her own house and planning to just stay with jr's family possibly forever,

but just like in canon they dont want her ass there so she gotta go, grim. jr, nigel, and sis "teaches her about emotions" and convinced her being w harold isnt as bad as being alone and how his and billy's stupidity is just a price to pay for someone else's company (their asses fake as hell they just want her to leave none of them actually believes this shit) and so she came back to the center of the earth and stuff probably just repeats or smth

as for substitute teacher, i might drop the whole ms butterbean thing and just focus on sperg, i imagine billy isnt as restraining of his own powers unlike canon jr so when sperg threatened him he just idk fight back in a way tho not rly fight as billy barely see it as a fight more like just a rough playtime w a toy,

this scare off sperg and jr sorta starts this fake friendship w billy just so sperg wont bother him and his friends anymore, but this doesnt last long as billy also slowly got closer w mandy, and jr doesnt rly like her (they're like lowkey rivals in this au and just generally dont get along).

mandy then tells billy that his cousin is fake as hell, then junior says mandy is also not any better cuz she clearly also just want to abuse billy's power for personal gain, and then they made billy choose between the both of them,

he picked mandy because "as cool as grim is being around you nerdos made even him look lame" and left, sperg came back last minute and screen fades to black.

Oh gosh I still can't fall asleep but it did just occur to me that while Malka would be suuuuuch good friends with Sebastian, there is absolutly no way she could kill Anders. Like even just on her own she wouldn't have it in her to stab and kill a friend, even after something *so* horrifying, but on top of that he's been with Daniel for like seven years or more at that point in the cousinswap verse...he's family. But I mean, so is Sebastian; given her options she has to pick Anders and that's devastating for her.

okay as per usual I should be in bed but real quick, because I’m actually thinking about the cousin swap au:

Revka runs away with Braxton Croft, known apostate and former mercenary, and they manage to raise five fucking mage children while constantly moving from place to place. 

Braxton dies three years before the Blight. By then the family was set up in Lothering, but this left a huge burden on the eldest siblings - Ezra and Malka - since they now had to continue to train their younger siblings and keep their magic hidden. 

They escape to Kirkwall during the Blight but Ezra dies on the way there, basically leaving Malka as head of the family. Revka does her best to support her children, but she’s always had trouble connecting with them and Braxton’s death only widened the gap between them. 

Meanwhile, Leandra married the perfectly respectable Malcolm Hawke - his family wasn’t of equal standing with the Amells, but that was hardly a scandal after everything else the family had been through. However, she still gave birth to a mage son and that was really the last nail in the family’s coffin. 

Daniel Hawke was sent to the Gallows and never knew that his family left Kirkwall to try and escape the gossip and shame of his birth.

Years later Leandra and Malcolm gave birth to twins, and were yet again horrified when they discovered that one of them was a mage. Bethany was sent to Kinloch Hold when she and Carver were 6; he hardly remembers his twin anymore, and his older brother may as well be imaginary. 

Way further down the road: Daniel becomes the HoF and he meets Anders and Bethany during the events of Awakening. They’d become close friends growing up in the Circle together, and when Anders escaped he did it with Bethany by his side. They both become Wardens, and the two Hawkes finally get to know their long lost sibling. 

Malka and Hannah meet Varric and end up getting roped into his Deep Roads expedition. No one dies or gets tainted or anything because fuck you I said so.

Daniel and Bethany are with Anders at his clinic! Obviously Anders isn’t going to leave his boyfriend behind when he leaves the Wardens and Daniel isn’t going to lose his sister again. There’s definitely a moment where Malka asks Daniel, “Wait, aren’t you the Hero of Ferelden?” and Daniel is very nonchalant about it, which leads to, “And doesn’t that also make you Warden-Commander? You can’t just leave the Wardens, can you?” to which he replies with some very noncommittal hand waving, a big shrug, and, “I was Warden-Commander. But when I decided to leave isn’t not as if anyone could stop me. So now I’m just Hawke.”

Oh I just thought of something!! Maybe Carver became a templar so that he could finally meet his twin sister, and now he’s been reassigned to Kirkwall with Cullen and a handful of others. So we get a big family reunion and poor Carver gets to hide the fact that he’s absolutely surrounded up apostates lol. 

Carver was the one who helped Bethany and Anders escape! But since the place was overrun with demons and blood mages soon after that, no one was exactly worried about two missing mages in the aftermath. It took a while for the Circle to realize they weren’t just dead, and by that point there was nothing that even hinted to the fact that a templar might have helped them get out.
