Just so y'all know, it's always okay to make fun of bootlicker imitation yeehaw.

If some lifted truck in the city only thing country about them is the country club all hat no cattle motherfucker wearing clean boots who can't handle anything spicier than a saltine with social circle with an much diversity as a pack of printer paper and a hard on for police intervention starts talking about living in the country, you do what I do:

Give them weathering tips for their LARPing gear and point them in the direction of some acting lessons, because they're not convincing anyone.

Every time the southern US comes up, 90% of the insults are just making fun of the poor and the disenfranchised as if the people hunting squirrel in trailer parks while leaving the expensive private school vanity ranch estate folks completely untouched.

Now go on, do your duty for Queen (the band) and country (Dolly Parton) and heckle those fuckers like you're Statler and Waldorf from the god damn Muppet show because that's the amount of respect they deserve.

I just went to dinner with my parents at a country club and I shit you not, this rich lookin old guy behind us was trying to justify drinking and driving. Like???

His point was that the law is that you can’t drive drunk, so if he drinks while driving, he wouldn’t be drunk until he got home. What do you mean????

#the best part was that my guy was INHALING his wine #like I watched him consume at least three full glasses of it #and I don’t drink so I don’t have a lot of credibility here but I’m pretty sure that he would probably be drunk driving with that much wine #and before you’re all like Zeph you can’t judge people at the country club if you’re also at the country club #we were only there because we were invited by my parents friends because my dad officiated a wedding before

I don't know if this has been asked and answered but with your love of Top Gun and airplanes, would you ever consider getting your pilot's license?

it is my retirement plan 🤞🏽 god willing i make enough money to learn how to fly someday

im currently a broke student with no access to any accessible airstrip within like 20 miles (i live in nyc & don’t have a car) and also every time i mention getting my pilot’s license to my mom she has a conniption about safety “what happens if my baby falls out of the sky” etc. so i have to wait for her to die first

but yes I would love love love to have that opportunity at some point. If only to make my writing about flight more accurate (obviously if you know anything about flying my fics are the most inaccurate things in the whole world & i apologize for that). Im a big proponent of “doing stuff just to know how to write about it” which is the only reason, for instance, I have ever smoked a cigarette (not that my writing about that is particularly accurate either but)

#That’s just a joke abt my mom obv i looove her #Carole Bradshaw ‘my child isn’t ready to fly’ moment #but yeah from a parental point of view it’s ok to send one’s child across the country in a commercial #jetliner multiple times per year but a Cessna 180 is absolutement out of the question #i have to grow up some #i have two (2) friends who dropped out of high school to get their pilots’ licenses and are now professional private pilots at 20 and 21 #of like. bell 206s or Beechcraft bonanzas or whatever but it’s still so unbelievably cool #my school does have a flight club but in typical northeastern university fashion it’s all about how to land a management job at JetBlue #straight out of college not about how to actually fly #‘come be a middle management worker at qantas!’ 😕 idk #sorry you guys have to watch me do so much growing up it’s actually mortifying #lol #SMEs be grateful for ur distinction. Some of us are 20 (stupid) and in the pits.

like there's the fun "angst" of like what if they slept together but then dick had to leave before nix woke up and then they cant talk about it cus the War Is Happening and nix thinks dick regrets it etc you see the themes.

and theres the less fun of like i think it doesnt work out, in the long run for them. like between the secrecy and nixs alcoholism i think they had a pretty messy divorce somewhere in the early 50s . and i think its nix who has to leave. i think dick wouldve taken anything to keep lew with him but lew knows its fucking killing dick to see nix like this.. and so its nix thats the one who has to leave first ...

#my like rough timeline for them is like they come back home in 45 #and they have a little townhouse in jersey together. and they really tried. they really tried!#they had the house and dick had the job and nix cooked dinner every night and they had friends and knew their neighbors..#but at first the drinking was just . a part of nix. and something dick always knew about nix. and nix tries to cut back but his whole life #is an opportunity to drink. like the country clubs and the yacht clubs and the dinners and the events and the parties and just like #nix is doing What He Does as the socialite son of stanhope nixon like its a part of his job #anyway. eventually he gets sober for the most part in the late 40s. but then dick gets called back into the service . and i think when dick #goes back nix relapses hard. and its just too much stress on their relationship.... and like obviously for dick its not like there #are support groups for partners of people struggling with substance abuse at the time.#anyway. so. nix leaves for california and dick goes home to buy a farm in pennslyvania #damn sorry that got morose lmao. i have a headache :/#anyway. to answer your question.. yes<3 #amanda.mail
