I think we all knew something was up with Roger Rogers. I still like him well enough but he HAS to be a spy. You remember what he said in that canister room? Calling all Julie and the Phantom fans of the DPxDC fandom! Mostly the writers but like artists if you work some magic I’d cry so-

ANYWAY. I propose an idea:

Our Everlasting Trio take place of The Phantoms and find themselves meeting X (was thinking Jason first then Steph cuz like actually… as funny as Jason yelling and forgetting gun safety for a minute would be Steph actually fits the vibe of the show better…) after twenty five years have somehow gone by without their knowledge (seriously clockwork what the actual fuck) The trio show up where they were last staying before dying (was thinking a warehouse in Gotham tbh) and X shows up to be confused about these strange kids in this place (safehouse?). Valerie survived and the trio are not happy with what she did with their memory. (I couldnt think of anyone else that could possibly be as close besides Jazz and like- Jazz being Bobby fits less than Val due to their personalities so)

So obviously I’m hoping for the show’s plot just with (maybe) Steph and the trio which… means that the trio’s unfinished business… not sure what it’d be but honestly I’d even be happy if it’s not any angst beyond Unsaid Maddie or something cuz like Band!Trio is such a good vibe

it's very funny to see other (non in your case) readers in the fandom come to the same conclusion I came to by reading SP fanfic: other teenagers are boring and annoying and that's why Val had no friends her actual age. I have the inkling that Derek is trying to introduce these new characters as a way to maybe start a new SP phase without Skug and Val, which is???? who's in the market for that l o l

I mean. I think all ordinary teenagers are boring and annoying, tbh - that's part of being a teenager. Of the two Phase 2 books I read, all Omen did was basically Be Fat, Be Useless, and Sit In Maths Class. And who's interested in that? That's the life of every single fat kid on the planet. There's nothing interesting or compelling about mundanity in a world full of magic. I mean, personally, there's nothing interesting or compelling about mundanity ever, which was precisely why I read books like Phase 1: to escape my own Be Fat, Be Useless, Sit In Maths Class life. But some people like a normal life, so YMMV.

The only thing that set Val apart was that when she was a teenager, so were we. She was still annoying. She was overly edgy and selfish and shitty, but so was I at that age. Most likely, so were you. And teenagers will still be overly edgy and selfish and shitty in 100 years' time - that's part of figuring out who you are. If we'd been adults at the time, she probably would've annoyed us, but instead she was relatable, and more competent and kickass than we could ever hope to be. She had a personality and a life we wished we had, and that's why we enjoyed reading about her. If there was a "new Val", they'd probably still irritate me because I'm no longer a young teen and I Don't Like Children, but I'd understand why younger readers would imprint on them.

But? I can't see anyone doing that with Omen. He and his yawn-fest classmates have nothing an average kid doesn't already have. Most of their appearances are just...them at school. They're not cool, they're not charismatic, they're not well-crafted personalities, they don't have thrilling secret lives. Yes, they can do a little bit of magic, within a strictly regulated, restricted environment. But the badly-executed attempted Hogwarts ripoff takes all the fun out of learning magic and basically consigns those characters to being just...lame. And boring. A distraction from the actual story. I skipped most of their chapters in SPX and Midnight, because I just did not care what happened to them at all.

I genuinely can't see anyone wanting to pay for a book about them, and only them. I really can't.

Vamos:

At this point they were mostly just following Vaya around and trusting xem to take care of everything. They're both getting a bit old to really be allowed in orphanages or to get free meals which puts Vaya on edge so things are pretty tense a lot of the time. They're also starting to experiment with their gender expression as much as they can but they kind of struggle with it because ✨internalized transphobia✨ but they'll get there!!

Val:

The downfall of BLI is still pretty recent so hes kinda going through it he doesn't really see Vaya and Vamos anymore but Vinyl's still there and at this point they're considering finding somewhere more permanent to live because they've just been staying anywhere they can find for a couple days at a time. I think for him things get harder before they get easier and this is definitely the harder part of it

Dr D:

Things are kinda going sideways tbh!! This is before he's even Dr. Death-Defying so he doesn't use that name he doesn't do radio yet he hasn't met Cherri, Pony, or any the Four he's not really recognizable to anyone who only knew him as Dr. Death-Defying. It was around this time when he met Phoenix again (for anyone who doesn't know they're siblings in my canon) which is a good thing!! It's good to see her again he missed her a lot!! But also how do you even reconnect with a sibling you haven't seen in over a decade when you've grown into an entirely different person than you were the last time you saw them? How do you reconnect with them when they're an entirely different person from the last time they saw you? Becoming the Witch is a slow and painful process and she's already decided she's going down this path and try as he might there's no way to change her mind but he's going to keep trying and well. That doesn't turn out very well. This is the death of who he was before and he thinks its the death of his sister but the person he thinks she is was already long gone before She hunted him down.

Vinyl:

He lived in the City as a kid and he has an older brother and tbh he doesn't really like to talk about this time in his life so he's really the only one who knows anything about it, his crew knows what I just listed but that's kinda it. It's a really hard time for him he's autistic and he struggles in school he struggles to make friends he struggles to act "normal" enough to not draw suspicion to himself and his family he doesn't really have support or understanding from anyone he barely understands himself and why he's like this so how could anyone else understand him either? His brother really tries but with limited knowledge of autism and how to help and be supportive there's not a whole lot he can do besides just try to let Vinyl know how loved he is no matter what he struggles with

12. Do they have a difficult time when separated from each other, or are they fairly independent?

I'd say all of them have a healthy / appropriate distance from each other and are pretty content with it. But I will say, Imani/Nick are definitely the ones who spend the most time together and feel it the most when they're not around each other. I like to think they spend a lot of their free-time together, so whenever Nick is away Imani gets quite lonely and misses him a lot :< it's not necessarily neediness or codependency, she's just always used to him being there and it's nice.

17. How well do they communicate? Are they open with their feelings/thoughts or more reserved? Why?

Theo/Sloane - Their communication is 10/10 but they could work on how they say things! They're both brutally honest (in a jokey unserious way too) so I feel like a lot of their concerns would be addressed instantly. They also strike me as the couple who will openly say whatever thought pops in their head - without judgement - and just slip into random conversations. They just get each other.

Similar thing for Luci/Astur! Since they started off kind of as complete strangers, they'd be more direct about communication (if that makes sense??). But there's never any hard feelings. It's something that's help lay down a foundation of honesty in their relationship. Just being 100% Though I feel like emotions wise they're more reserved. Especially Luci.

On the opposite end, I feel like during their relationships Valeria/Sunwoo weren't very open with each other. Unless it was something negative that needed to be addressed, they had no problem airing that out with each other. As for more soft and loving communication? That rarely happened, mostly due to Sunwoo's hesitance. Val mostly tried to go along with it and be like "yes I'm totally fine :))) " all the repressed emotions from both ends. (also, this has inspired a new headcanon about their relationship. pls see me for more details <3 asjkl )

19. Do they wear each other’s clothes/jewelry?

Lance/Quinn - a hundred percent yes! Sometimes she'll lounge around in his shirts, which are cutely oversized on her. I also feel like Quinn likes to clip little pink bows or accessories onto Lance's clothes for "more color" and he's like 'cute' and goes along with it so Quinn can be happy. and he secretly likes that they kinda match.

Dean/Isa - I think she would like to borrow his jackets, shirts, and maybe hats to accessorize her outfit with. Dean lowkey has a lot of cool clothing tbh. I could also see her lounging around in his pajama pants or sweatpants! On the flipside, Dean would occasionally borrow her necklaces and rings because he likes accessories.

Trinity/Duygu - Trini always lets Duygu borrow or even keep a lot of her clothing items of accessories. It started off as Trinity being like "wait I have just the thing to make your outfit perfect" and now it's a regular thing. They also share lipstick!

31. Do they often go out on dates? What are these like?

Trinity/Duygu - Every weekend and it's non negotiable! They both have very busy schedules during the work week, so they always make it a point to keep the weekends for themselves as much as possible. It's usually always Trinity booking them dinner at a high end restaurant or them going to a brunch or farmer's market in the morning.

Similar to above, Audrie/Luca like to reserve weekends for each other, as long as there's no prior commitments. Sometimes it's quiet dates with each other at a nice restaurant, or staying in to cook and have a bottle of wine. Sometimes they'll do more fun kid-related activities when Mikey is with them. Her favorite is making sunday dinner, where she'll invite Luca and Mikey over for a small, intimate dinner. Very sweet and cozy, they feel like a family

On the opposite end, the couple that rarely goes on dates would be Lance/Lucy. Believe me, he wants to take her out all the time and asks her time after time, but Lucy always has an excuse or an obligation to her actual boyfriend. On the rare chance they do have dates, he plans something very private but also very elaborate so he can 'show off' and impress her. It probably a once a month thing but trust me, he goes all out :') lol

Also !! we haven't done anything with them yet, but Aisha/Mary definitely give off the vibes where Aisha always asks Mary out on spontaneous dates. It's always like "wanna go out to dinner or dancing in like an hour??" or "we're going to paris in a few days wanna go??"

48. Do they talk about their future together? Why or why not?

Trinity/Duygu - Ok so Trin has definitely made hints and references to wanting to marry Duygu and things like that. I don't believe it's been a full blown serious conversation yet, but the way Trinity speaks about the future definitely has Duygu included.

Miyoung/Flynn - Hear me out, they do talk about their future together but not in a serious way. It's almost always just Miyoung making offhanded joking comments like "when we live together we're getting 10 cats okay" or "I like dolphins. we should have them at our beach wedding" - or her sending those cutesy relationship memes about being together forever. It's very nonchalant that Flynn probably can't tell if she's serious or not. Even Miyoung doesn't know LOL

he was the most wanted bachelor that every single girl in the entirety wanted this duke. when he left, he was about 13 so no one knew how he would turn out, no he didn’t even say bye to me before leaving. but when he turned 20, he came back and won everyone’s hearts. all the mothers wanted their girls to be with him. except my mother. 

“come on y/n!” one last pull of my corset as my mother screamed up to me. i held in my breath one more time and i was completely tied into my dress. i looked down at the dress in the mirror to see that this dress was my favorite dress in the whole world. 

as i headed down the stairs i thought about the fact that everyone who was everyone this season was going to be there. i was nervous but excited at the same time. i was the first one in our family to be presented to society, so i was nervous as hell. getting into the car made me more nervous than i was supposed to be. my phone started going off and when i picked up the phone, it was my sister, valeria. 

“hey what’s up?” i smiled making eye contact with my mom because i know she would be pissed off because of how i said hi to val. i laughed then listened to what val was about to say.

choi byungchan. he was the love of my life when we were kids. everything about him was perfect. i mean we promised to get married when we were kids, and now that we’re at the age of marriage, i don’t think that’s going to happen. there were girls chasing after him every single second that he came back. he probably didn’t even remember me. he was a duke now, and apparently he came back for one reason and one reason only, but no one knew why. 

“when the fuck did he get back?” i looked up to see my mom swearing at me with my eyes when i swore. i laughed looking down at my feet thinking about what i’m going to say if he comes to talk to me. 

“a week ago. apparently he’s being a dick. he’s acting like he owns the world, but everyone is saying that he came back for only one reason. to find the love of his life.” she scoffed the second we turned into the mansion we were having the ball at. i laughed rolling my eyes looking up at my mother smiling.

“you better behave tonight. no mucking around, got it?” my mother scoffed stepping to the side to let me pass. i smiled at her nodding before walking down the red carpet. as i walked down, there were more reporters than i thought. i smiled at every single one and when i got to the end, my mother was there to walk me in. the entire time i was thinking about byungchan. he was finding the love of his life?

“lee y/n, presented by her mother, from the lee family.” when we walked in, the ballroom was a retro theme, a 1920s theme. i looked around before telling my mother that i was going to take a quick walk around. all the girls at this party were glaring at me as i walked in, but i didn’t care. when i turned to the side to greet one of the marchioness’, i saw him. the duke of jeonju. 

he was wearing a black suit, no tie, just a jacket, and a white shirt underneath. his hair was pushed back, so his forehead was showing. my god did he grow up well. i was going to be honest, but i wanted to go up to him and kiss him. 

as the night went on, i tried to avoid him regardless of anything. near the end of the ball, after thousands of dances with all the suitors, my mother had told me that there were a bunch of suitors that were waiting to ask for my hand.

“you ready to go?” i smiled nodding when my mom put her arm around mine. i smiled bowing at all of the people that we had walked past until we walked towards the door. i was helping my mom hold her dress and as i kept trying to pick up her dress, there were a pair of Christian Louboutin’s. i looked up, and the man that everyone this season was begging to marry, was looking down at me. 

“byu- your grace.” i smiled weakly keeping all my emotions inside me walking around him to the car. as we were walking down the stairs, my mom had let go of my arm at one point to basically run to the car. i stared at her with my mouth open about to chase her when my wrist was pulled back. 

“you’re not even talking to me now?” he scoffed at me standing on a few steps higher than the step i was standing on. he looked into the distance before stepping down the stairs to stand on the same step as i was. 

“i have to go. excuse me your grace.” i curtsied subtly before starting to walk off. yet again, he pulled me back again rolling his eyes gripping onto my wrist with one hand and putting his free hand into his pocket. he continued to stare a hole into my face when i noticed that the viscount’s daughter had come out to stare at me. no, glare at me. she was all over byungchan all night so naturally she would be pissed if he suddenly started paying attention to anyone except himself. 

“stop calling me that. do you know the reason why i came back y/n?” he lifted my chin when i continued to stare down at the ground. i didn’t want to look into his eyes. i looked to the side seeing there were still reporters. 

“i don’t care, choi byungchan.” i shook my head looking into his eyes shrugging in a way that i knew would piss him off. he hated when i gave smart comments. 

“i’m going to tell you regardless.” he leaned into whisper into my ear smiling. when he pulled away, he was inches away from my face, now smirking at me. i rolled my eyes looking away from him. 

“i came back to make you the duchess.” 

“byungchan- i can’t marry you. it doesn’t work like this.” i shook my head looking around frantically to see if there was any way out of this, but there wasn’t. i waited for this moment my entire life and it was actually happening but i rejected him. he pulled away from me staring down at my face biting his lip nervously. the more i looked up at him, the more i realized that i still loved this man. 

“we promised to get married.” his jaw tightened as i looked up at him. we were already standing really close together and it didn’t help that the two of us were being watched.

“that was when we were kids. it’s not the same now is it?” i shook my head pulling away from him before running down the stairs fast knowing that if i stayed longer, i would have made a bad mistake. why didn’t i want it to happen? no wait, i know why, it’s because of the fact that he left without saying anything. without even telling me. without even thinking of me before he left. 

“byungchan, i’ll be the duchess.” i turned around to look at the viscount’s daughter who was now all over him smirking at me. i rolled my eyes laughing getting into the car. my mom smiled nervously at me as i glared at her when i got into the car. i couldn’t even say anything to my mom because i was so pissed off at her. 

“i thought you didn’t want me to get married to byungchan.” i rolled my eyes half way home. i looked to the side to see that she was smiling brightly. the reason that she didn’t want me to get married to byungchan was because she didn’t want him to break my heart because it’s not the first time that he would have broken a heart. 

“i’ve always wanted you two to get married. i just wanted to see if you liked him enough to fight back for the fact that i didn’t want you two to get married.” she laughed while i sat there staring at her in shock. after 20 years, this is how she felt about byungchan?

“where are you going y/n?” val screamed at me when i abruptly stood up grabbing my jacket, a key to one of the cars, and drove as fast i could. the rain made it hard to drive, but i could do it. i couldn’t see a anything, it was completely pouring down cats and dogs, but before i could really freak out, i arrived. 

i ran out of the car and up to the huge wooden door. i rang the doorbell taking deep breaths trying to catch my breath as i stood in front of the door. i was soaking from head to toe now but it was worth it. i hope. after a while no one replied so i pressed the bell again but this time, i knew it was worth it. i looked up to see byungchan’s bright smile, his tall figure standing there with his eyes glued to the floor but looked up when he apologized.

“i’m sorry my staf- y/n holy shit get in here.” byungchan pouted pulling me into the house with both of his hands on my wrists staring at me before calling majority of his staff to where the two of us were standing.

“run her a bath, get an outfit from my closet for her, make hot chocol-” before he could finish, i had to say what i needed to or i would never have the guts to do it again. i had to do it now. 

“byungchan.” i laughed when he was ranting, but he continued to give his orders. i pulled his sleeve giggling to him when he looked down at me. 

“marry me.” i smiled looking up to him batting my eyelashes at him. he chuckled pressing his lips to mine moving his hands from my wrists to my waist.

“i’m supposed to ask that but you don’t have to ask me twice your grace.”

danny phantom season 2, ep 12-16 thoughts! these episodes, in comparison to the first 10 or so, felt way more laid back and low-stakes, which I appreciate sometimes. I didn't appreciate how lazy jack's halfa design was in masters of time, it made me so annoyed I redesigned it. 👎🏻 u_u

2. Who do they look to for guidance? (Val)

I mean in a hero sense, party poison ofc, even if he can’t admit it. he wants to be the better party poison, so what better way to do that then look at how poison did things and “improve” those methods from that starting point as guidance.

in a more personal sense he looks to, tbh, all of the other ultra v’s. he’s not great at asking for guidance but he’ll still look to them for it in his own way. for example when he’s unsure about something he checks to see how they’re handling things, and they’re handling things better than him (and they always are) he secretly uses that as a comfort and/or a jumping off point for his own decisions.

7. Any family scandals? Does your character know about them? (Vinyl)

hmm ok I think there’s a little bit that’s still a spoiler so 🤫 but for the most part all his family scandals have already been revealed in my fics. the main ones are that his father was an exterminator and his sister was a scarecrow training to be an exterminator, which when ur a killjoy in one of the desert’s most well known crews it’s kinda a big deal. but none of the other ultra v’s really knew about this during the comics (he probably told val after the comics and, well, vaya and vamos r gonna hear at least part of it soon enough)

vinyl actually knew about both of those things the whole time though, he’d pieced things together wrt his father while he was still a kid, and altho before my fic post-comics he could only guess what happened to his sister, he knew her well enough that “escaped to scarecrow academy” was one of his top guesses. (tho secretly he always hoped she’d come to her senses and become a killjoy too at some point)

these def weighed on him like a lot in his early killjoy days. by the time the comics happened he was all but over it, but for the first few years it was very hard for him to kill any bl/i agents. it was over time that he became desensitized to it and in turn became pretty desensitized to killing in general, a la Target Practice™ for example. once he internalized “I might accidentally kill my father or my sister any time I kill someone wearing a mask, but that’s ok” it became pretty hard to get upset by any murder

30. What is their ideal sleeping situation? (Vinyl)

gonna answer this one too cause it’s easy. the ideal is always sleeping with all the other ultra v’s dog-piled on top of him (bonus: good pressure stim) OR sleeping on top of all the other ultra v’s (bonus: good pressure stim for everyone else)

14. What is something that never fails to make them excited? (Volume)

I feel like infodumping about music is an obvious but easy answer. so I’ll also say: rain. volume’s biggest problem is he gets so bored and depressed of the killjoy lifestyle so anything to break up his routine is a good thing, and rain is like perfect for that. it’s usually a surprise, it cools everything off, it’s pretty, it smells good and makes mud everywhere, it sounds good on windows, it usually means less dracs and scarecrows are out that day, what’s not to love?? 

21. Do they prefer giving or receiving gifts? (Vaya)

honestly?? receiving. they’re not selfish they just like getting stuff!! they especially like it when someone gives them something they can wear or at least something pretty they can put on display and show off. 

they also love getting new video games but those are very rare in the desert. I think the nest got a new game once or twice during their time there. both times the game was “gifted” to vaya and vamos (since they’re both the Gamers™ of the nest) and vaya LOVED it. what they weren’t told however was the “gift” was given to them under the (correct) assumption that they’d share the game with the rest of the nest. it was really a community owned game for all the killjoys to have. everyone gifting it to the twins specifically was all for show, just as an easy way to make their days hdfgf

4. Who is someone they’ve hurt? (Vamos)

oh they’re SUCH a people pleaser I don’t think there’s any cases of them genuinely hurting someone like that in my canon. sometimes they can hurt people out of their carelessness or their inability to read tone, but they’re always quickly forgiven, either because it was just a mistake (it was!) or because no one likes to see them upset (their anxiety spirals Very easily)

ofc that being said, val velocity, local asshole, doesn’t really forgive them for these things so easily. so it’s never really over anything serious but sometimes vamos will do something kinda dumb like twist an ankle doing parkour. then val gets upset that they’re not gonna be able to run for a few weeks and that’s gonna put everyone in danger. so val yells at vamos then vamos does their puppy dog eyes back, which val doesn’t accept, and the both of them get incredibly frustrated by this very quickly. the next thing you know they’re Both in a bad mood snapping at each other until someone else (usually vaya) can be like “both of you hug and make up right now or witch so help me”

5. What is a secret that they have? (The Girl)

she always kinda figured there was something up with the cat. she didn’t know it was a straight up camera, but she knew it’d likely “escaped” the city, and seemed harder to kill or injure than a normal cat, and was still just as young and perfectly healthy as she found it even after being with her for 10 or 11 years. 

but it never seemed to cause any trouble for her, and she loved it, so she kept it. and it wasn’t like a huge Secret secret before the comics, when she largely lived alone, cause who would she even be hiding this from anyway. but during the comics when val keeps talking about there being a spy and the trouble starting when she showed up?? uh oh ❤️ she kept a Very close eye on the cat then to make sure it was safe. 

then, when dr d was killed for supposedly being the spy, that kinda, uh, sucked. like she was hiding this probably-some-sort-of-wiretap-or-something-idk from everyone else just cause it was her one (1) friend for the past 12 years, and now one of her last surviving family member was dead in its place. F

6. Would they trust anyone with their secret? (The Girl)

nope! even after the comics it didn’t feel productive to tell anyone. as far as anyone else knew she found out the cat was a spy only Right Before they went into the city so no one blamed her for that, and with better living gone the cat no longer posed any threat and was just a cool pet cat so, like, what’s the problem. nothing to see here just a girl and her suspicious cat vibing

Natalie Dormer has that smirk that made us all understand that yeah, Margaery is cute and all, but she’s also a queen. She was one of my favorite characters in the show, and I think you all agree. 4. Where do your story ideas come from?

Uuuuh from the... me? I don’t know, this question is hard. They just... come to me? Sometimes, I look hard at a ship and say “you. I wanna write you. what tropes/settings fit you?” and thus, I... come up with an idea for it. I want to write something, so I sit down for a moment and come up with something that fits the thing I want to do. Other times, the idea comes to me first - that can be through like around three corners, as in something is cool, I take one aspect of that that I like, I give it a different spin and put it together with a fandom/ship I think would fit. Or it just... comes to me as a total, like standing in the shower and thinking “man I wanna write x”, whereas x is a setting, trope, ship and fandom together already.

9. Is there one character that you refuse to write? why?

Actually refuse to write? At this point, M@ryse. I go outta my way to remove the Lightwoods even from the fics set pre-canon, having them conveniently be in Idris in every scene and just not bringing them up at all during canon events or even post-canon. You can assume, in every single one of my fics, that the Lightwood kids cut ties with their parents. I have zero (0) time to give abusive parents screen time, much less redemption. *

* Valentine can be an exception, due to his importance to the plot, it’s hard not to directly involve him in storeis at times. But I’m more fine with this one than with M@ryse, because at least with Val, canon agreed and stayed constant in that he is a shitty, abusive piece of crap that does not deserve forgiveness. The thing that ticks me off about M@ryse is that canon pretended that one “sowwy :(” is enough to make all her kids forgive her and canon pretended that “my hubby cheated on me :(” is... is... a justifiable reason to be a crappy, emotionally abusive parent (and I will sink my teeth into anyone who comes into my blog trying to defend her or argue that the way she treated Isabelle wasn’t a degree of neglectiveness and manipulation that was emotional abuse, or that calling Jace “a cancer” and being so ready to drop him from the family tree that she poisoned Max against her wasn’t emotionally abusive like ffs children aren’t a selective that you can keep if they are Fun And Bring Honor and then treat like this when they become slightly a burden, that shit is abusive).

I just... generally am not in the business of bashing characters in a fic, so I elect to leave it at “look at what she did, in actual canon, thus the Lightwoods cut her out”.

15. At what point in writing a fic, do you decide to quit?

Quit? That is such a weird question? Or just a weird phrasing? Does this mean decide that the fic ends there? Like, finding an ending? xD

Usually, that one is a numbers game for me, tbh. Otherwise no fic would ever end because you see after high school graduation they can go to college and then they can get jobs and then they can get married and have kids and grow old and die of old age. There is no natural end to a romance-focused story unless ya take the most natural end of death. And even that is not a hindrance in many universes, such as PJO.

So, I generally... set a length, often beforehand, sometimes only during the writing. Fics are either 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 20 or 25 pages long (anything longer than 25 pages gets split into chapters). I have enough experience at this point to know what approximate page number a certain plot will require, though sometimes they do get bumped up a number because I put more background/side elements in than originally anticipated.

Usually, the goal is for the main pairing to get together and that’s it; occasionally covering a bit of the relationship (generally, a sex-scene). But I’m in the business of writing getting-together-stories, not so much slice-of-life stuff. Exploring the relationships only happens in multi-chapter fics for me, in which case I decide how long it’ll be in... the exact same rhythm as page count - a multi-chapter fic has a chapter length of either 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 20 or 25.

19. How do you handle negative comments?

Honestly a number of songs make me feel either happy or pumped but Goldfish Crackers by Gold Revere and Sunday Best by Surfaces are the sure-fire way to kickstart the serotonin production

Honestly probably any Disney movie. They just remind me of simpler times

3) What's your favorite candle scent?

Anything that smells like flowers or nature! I especially love scents that remind me of water for some reason. My favorite perfume smells exactly like a lake and I ritually soak myself in it

It's guaranteed that I will cry if anyone gives me any flower, but my favorites would have to be orchids or lilies

Honestly my dad, we're pretty much carbon copies of each other and share the same humor so I feel 100% comfortable with him. Hi i havent read the books post-resurrection so im kinda lost on why you dont like phase 2 val? She was easily one of my favourite characters ever, she was flawed (and the books took time to acknowledge them) and relatable and still really admirable (intelligent, brave, loyal) and i really liked her and really appreciated that she wasn’t perfect unlike every other young adult heroines. What went wrong😢😢😢😢

Okay I'm gonna put this under a cut because I very strongly dislike phase 2 val and I know it bugs people who don't feel the same, so. Dead dove dont eat

Okay so first off, phase 1 val and phase 2 val are completely different people. literally. phase 1 val was based on an ex-friend of lardo's who used to apparently be involved pretty heavily in like, editing the books and "she'd react like this" or "val wouldn't say that", and that val she was one of my favourite fictional characters from when book one came out to the release of resurrection. phase 2 val is based on his whiny little girlfriend who likes to start shit with 14yos on twitter, and you can absolutely tell she is no longer the same person. so the long story short of "what went wrong" is "the original irl val's friendship with dirty laundry ended for whatever reason and he decided to retcon her entire personality to suit his gf"

Phase 2 Val, in my opinion:

Weak, like won't even fight back when she gets jumped bc boo fucking hoo she's so awful, bitch get up already, nobody signed up for ur pity party

Whiny. So fucking whiny. All the time. And she's the POV character so it's inescapable.

"Pacifist" but in a really pathetic virtue-signalling kind of way like "Oh, I've done such terrible thiiiiiiiiiiings I'm so awfulllllllllllll look how good I'm trying to be nowwwwwwww pay attention to meeeeeeee" kind of way, it was both boring and a massive eye roll. It's a book about magic and asskicking. Kick some ass. We're here for escapism not "realistic" whining. Yes, irl she'd be a mess. As an author it's his job to strike a balance between the "realism" he wants to portray and making his readers so depressed and done with his heroine that they quit reading, and in my case, he absolutely failed.

Everything must be about her at all times. Skug is having personal problems? Fuck him, they're about her now. Everything is about how it affects her, and her feelings, and be damned to the person actually having the problem. Fucks phase 2 val cain gives about anyone except herself: 0

Bitter and jaded. Which yeah I get why but it's like jesus christ what do we get out of reading about this? It's not even good bitter and jaded where it makes you empathise or admire her strength in adversity or whatever, she's just become a really nasty person with no redeeming features that I could see. Which? Landy outright said she's based on his gf? If your boyfriend is gonna drag ur entire personality through the dirt like that and write "you" as just a collection of incredibly negative traits...yikes.

Really ungrateful about the awesome life she leads? Which bugs me bc I fucking hate mundanity and knowing that all there is to life is fucking working and bad mental health. I would kill to live her life. All she does is moan about it. Like? Quit then. Fuck off back to being a mortal if it's that bad and live the shitty life you wanted to get away from in the first place. That way we'd get no more books, and quite honestly, thank fuck for that. But anyway, she needs to pick one, stick with it, and stop complaining about whatever she chose.

The girl wallows in self pity. And if someone else isn't indulging her enough, she'll wallow harder and louder and more obviously. Yawn.

Her POV is now so depressing to read that Resurrection literally tanked my mental health. I'm not kidding. I fell off the self-harm wagon, the suicidal thoughts came back, reading her dissociating would make me dissociate, I just did not cope whatsoever. Being in her head was just like being in my head during my worst points, and I hate myself, so naturally, I hate her too. Like I get why some people like phase two val. I get that her depression is "realistic" and that trauma does just make some people completely dislikeable and self-pitying, and if people want to read about that, then...sure. you do you, my dudes. But I live that reality, I am that person whose trauma made her a dysfunctional, isolated bitch, and I hate, passionately, having it infest the media I consume to escape.

Essentially if I wanted to engage with a bitter, spiteful, depressed piece of shit in her 20s who pushes everyone away and sucks at everything, I'd live my gd life. Yall see me tryna engage with my real life? Hell nah I'm on tumblr dot com burying my head up the ass of whatever fandom will force my brain to produce some s e r o t o n i n and that is what I need this series for

Also? The dynamic she had with skug in phase one? "Until the end"? "You save me, I save you, that's how we work"? Forget that, it doesn't exist anymore. I stopped reading after Midnight, because she was written like he was a coworker she could barely tolerate. They went from "Lardo confirms on twitter that they talked on the phone a bunch while she was in america and he'd always ask her to come home" to "she comes home and proceeds to blank him for five months while she sits in her fuckin multimillionaire's mansion feeling sorry for herself". Their friendship completely disintegrated, they were totally separated for most of the book, she's written as not giving a single shit about him. She treated him like dirt, and their dynamic basically felt like it was becoming "Local Man With History Of Gravitating Towards Abusive Women Makes Same Terrible Choices For Fifth Time" and? that was the point of no return to me. he supports her unconditionally, no matter what he's going through at the time, he's walked on broken bones to try and get to her when she was in danger, she can tell him anything and he'd never use it against her. I did not, for one second in phase two, believe she felt the same about him. tbh it felt like she could - and wanted to - drop him at the first opportunity and not even feel bad about it, and that's not the dynamic that made me so emotionally attached to phase one. i signed up for "until the end", not whatever bullshit phase two has going on.

Apparently she's "less depressed" now and their relationship is "better" in the books published since midnight, which! might well be true. but I haven't read them and don't intend to, and she's gone from one of my favourite fictional characters ever (which! was impressive! because i almost never bond with the female lead - i normally get attached exclusively to the character i crush on, which would be skug here. val was the first female lead i actually cared about since xena! so im deeply salty about losing her!) to a character i? honestly prefer to pretend doesn't exist. i live in war era dead men/generals crackship land because that way, i don't have to acknowledge her or the fuckin character assassination phase 2 pulled on her.

so yeah, no hate towards phase one val at all. phase one val was awesome and flawed and gave me something to aspire to despite my shitty mental health and trauma, and if she'd kept her original personality she might still have been those things. but the original "real life" val is no longer involved (and doesn't talk to landy at all anymore, apparently), and the val based on landy's insufferable gf? i cannot get behind her at all ever, four for skug and none for phase two val cain bye

how i feel about this character: I LOVE THIS MAGGOT MAN DEARLY he’s very intriguing and i love that we get a more... unhinged anti-murkoff character. doing awful things for a good cause which i find intriguing. also in all honesty when i first read the murkoff account i found his whole... rotting superpowered corpse thing dumb n unfitting for outlast but its grown on me a lot. he’s just another murkoff employee that got experimented on and probably got it worse than the ones just shoved into th engine :[ 

all the people i ship romantically with this character: i very much like the idea of miles/simon - simon isnt really an ideal shipping character but iv always been attached to him n miles working together...undead buddies...bug motifs...its good. i think if there’s anyone simon could actually listen to n be redeemed with th help of it’d be miles, who’s also reckless and ambitious but has enough humanity to help keep simon grounded n stuff. i rly love this ship and can’t picture simon with anyone else tbh

my non-romantic otp with this character: i do really like his contrast w waylon as working partners and all th angst it brings as simon gets more unhinged :] ALSO there’s a fic i read where val ended up surviving and simon took her from murkoff custody and i really like their dynamic in that. i feel like they have some stuff in common and i also find val being her filthy self and simon being completely unperturbed hilarious. unstoppable force vs immovable object

my unpopular opinion about this character: look at the tvtropes character page for outlast. scroll down to simon’s tab. look at the second trope listed under it. “big good”. “BIG GOOD”. simon’s on the good side and he helps waylon sure but i would NOT call him a big good by ANY stretch. a well-intentioned extremist if anything. big goods don’t kidnap terminally ill kids, cut their fingers off, and potentially withold them from their treatment!!!! what!!!!!!!!

one thing i wish would happen with this character: on one hand i don’t want to have my headcanons debunked but on the other i REALLY wanna learn more of n see more about him in general!!! i wanna see how he works with waylon and miles and how he BECAME like that and how he was as a murkoff employee and just!!! i wanna know more in general!  (for those also wanting to know more i have a character study of him with headcanons about that stuff ehehe shameless self plug)

how i feel about this character: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE HELP HER. her situation is so upsetting and im thankful she at least gets a not-awful ending... which by outlast standards isn’t great but at least she’s alive and away from murkoff XD i also find her cunningness fun, managing to keep that threat towards trager under wraps - her involvement was only found bc trager had an abortion pamphlet on him. she’s smart!

all the people i ship romantically with this character: my otp, idk about you, is michelle and a nice long nap. seriously though i don’t really ship her with anybody - trager is an obvious no and i talked abt why i didn’t like her with pauline in my pauline post... paul? if i had to choose? they’d support eachother... but overall i dont ship michelle with anyone the gal just needs some alone healing time

Thea has a heart that wants nothing more than to help and to give, which is at odds with her current abilities, and it’s been such a pleasure watching her sort of come together.

Warning! I've Watched The Movie!Endgame Spoilers ahead!!

I'm putting This warning because some of ya'll are mean saying "If you leak spoilers you deserve no rights!" F off!! If you read these spoilers and then get mad you deserve no rights!!!

You would think!!!...

reading Endgame spoilers, writing Endgame essays and then watching the movie, would lessen the shock factor. Nah! You wrong af!....I watched the cam version of the movie today and when I saw Thor i was like..

And the worse! thing is he ain't fat because he was depressed. NO! He is fat because The Russos! wanted him to be funny! That was the only purpose for Chubby Thor!

Even in that video i could hear the audience laughing!!!! The little kids found it hilarious and i was sitting here at home and crying!!!!

You could see Thor's pain and anger when Banner said Thanos name but...

The Camera focused on his belly so much like "LOOK AT IT ITS FUNNY!!"

and I'm in floods of tears going "😭😭😭😭😭 NO it's not!!! Leave me alone please! 😭😭😭" It was painful!!! How could that they do this to him!

And he gives a little speech that he's fine and that he has no wish to be involved in helping the Avengers and he tells Rocket and Prof. Hulk to leave...but then Rocket says "there's beer on the ship" and Thor ups and goes with them????? Huuuuuuhhhhh!??????

And then for most of the movie the focus is on his beer belly and making him sound like an idiot!!!

Should Thor be depressed? of course!!! After everything he's gone through of course!! Should he gain weight being depressed? Yes! I GAIN WEIGHT WHEN I'M DEPRESSED!!! Being depressed and using junk food, alcohol, playing games all day will have this effect on you. But is him gaining weight!!! Something to laugh at??? NO!!!!

And Valkyrie???? In Ragnarok she went through the same situation Thor is in now. She was depressed and drowned her sadness in Alcohol. And then Thor came along and gave her her purpose back. Made her realise she can do so much more than wasting away on the Trash Planet.

And now Thor is in the same situation as her and...what? Valkyrie has been helping the Asgardians settle in Tonnsberg while Thor was drinking and eating junk food and worried about cable!!

But you know what Thor was never a dumbass!!! After what happened in the first Thor movie he was everything a good king would be. The reason he didn't want the Throne of Asgard on TDW was because he felt he could protect the nine realms better when he's not sitting on the Throne of Asgard. But when peace reigns he will gladly take care of his people.

What was all that character development in Thor 2011 and Thor: The Dark World and even in shitty Ragnarok all about?!!!! Actually i blame partly Ragnarok for Thor ending up.like this. Ragnarok was what started Thor as a comical character. The Russo just went "Its free real estate" and renovated on it and gave us Chubby Thor who couldn't even speak a complete sentence properly.

And that's not even it, what bothers me is that in the 5 years no one was helping Thor get better. Korg and Meik were pretty much enablers. Looking at things Valkyrie most probably tried to talk to him but he didn't bother to listen. And after a while she let him be hoping he comes out of his grief on his own. But, You know what pre Ragnarok Thor would listen to her. Pre Ragnarok Thor would not hide away and pretend nothing happened! Pre Ragnarok Thor would be grateful that he has people who care about him. He would do his best for the Asgardians he has with him now. Valkyrie and Korg and Miek are his closest people and he has their shoulder to cry on!! Especially Val. She does understand! and the entire time he was shutting himself away from the world, she helps the Asgardians get used to this new place. She also has hopes Thor will heal in time. She hasn't given up hope. I mean when all the Avengers were giving Thor looks of "oh, that is sad", she in the end has confidence in him. The movie never showed her thinking Thor is lesser of a man and king than he was before. She actually hopes for him to finally do right by his people.

What pisses me off is that Thor just goes off onto another adventure leaving Valkyrie with more responsibility than she already has (considering that now the whole human population is back and recovering from the IW events you can guarantee a whole host of problems are going to arise for the Asgardians. Considering how humans are you can bet on that.) The only way I can forgive Thor is if they give us a Thor 4 where he comes back to Earth with the remaining Asgardians (Hulk does say "we can bring them back") and finally decides to do some good for his people. Helps them have a better life, navigating human culture, learning new skills.

The Russos make Thor's grieve look like a joke! LIKE THOR DOESN'T EVEN CARE!!! RESPONSIBILITY??? NOPE THOR DOESN'T KNOW ANY OF THAT! you don't even feel sorry anymore or sympathise with Thor. You just feel ANGRY!! At the Russos and at Thor himself!!

Other things that hurt me...

Tony's death. It hurts just thinking about it! I feel it was unnecessary. There's no need for him to die. The Russos with all their imagination should have given him a happy ending! Natasha's death broke me first! Yeah you're gonna be a weeping mess after this. Steve was...*sigh*!!! It was sad and bittersweet. Did i like that ending for him? Not really 😢

Wanda doesn't get back Vision. Recently Elizabeth Olsen gave hints that the WandaVision series will be set in 1950s. I don't even know how that works out 😐

And Loki!!! You know how we thought he was ooc in Ragnarok? Nah! The Loki we see in Endgames New York 2012 is competing side by side with Ragnarok Loki on who is more ooc . I mean! He actually shape-shifted into Steve to mock him. He waved bye bye at the Hulk!! What??!! And then he just disappears and you're sitting there like "what the hell happen???"

What was good about Endgame?....

The rest of the movie was good. The humour was great when it didn't involve Thor. I'll never get over Scott in ant size sticking his ass out and saying "Flick me" at Tony😂 There were a lot of ass jokes. But it was find. Rocket and Prof. Hulk are my faves.

Thor meeting his mother was very emotional. Since she's a witch she immediately knew he was from the future. She doesn't judge him at all. She's just happy to see him.Their reunion was very sweet. A lot of tears and hugs. 😢In the end Frigga gives him a hug just before he leaves tells him in her sweet motherly voice "eat a salad" 😂😂 The only thing that was irritating here is Thor calling her "mom" 😕

For those who have been asking, there's a reason Thor had to sneak pass Loki 'cause of the time travel thing he can't allow himself to be seen by anyone. And Loki would definitely know this is Thor from the future. That would mess things up a lot.

Thor looked sort of better at the end when he was fighting Thanos. It would seem him summoning his armour, Mjolnier and the lighting also took care of his beard and hair. It's still long but braided 😕 He fought good. He was cool at the end.

Gamora is alive (Gamora from the past entered the 2018 timeline because of Thanos) !! 😄 And Quill is looking for her (He gotta make her fall in love with him all over)

And of course the fighting was epic as is expected. Cap wielding Mjolnier! When everybody showed up through Strange's portal!, Steve's "Avengers Assemble", Tony and Pepper fighting together!!! Wanda!! The Ladies of Marvel!! Captain Marvel!! 10/10(Tbh, Carol does look a little impatient the few times she was in the movie. Like she needed to be somewhere. I guess she has priorities. Other planets to protect. The moment she was sure Earth was safe she was gone.)

Not gonna lie, Endgame is epic and it is brilliant and amazing even with its flaws.

What's interesting is according to the Ancient One, if you move the stones from their proper place in the timeline it would result in a parallel reality being created. And of all the stone only the Space Stone has been moved from its place..by Loki. So that could mean a new alternate reality/universe has been created. And you know what.....That is actually scary. I wonder if the present universe Thor even knows that this other reality even exists where Loki is most probably alive. But even if he knows he wouldn't be able to do anything anyway.

Watching the movie, and seeing everybody fight together side by side, makes me miss Loki. It's like that scene where he takes the Space Stone and vanished sealed his fate somewhat. He's no longer connected to the timeline or universe we know. A new story exists for him. He's completely separated. And He's different now. He's probably still somewhat a villain with no redemption. He was never meant to fight side by side with the Avengers in this universe at least. Who knows how he turns out in the other universe. As matter of fact i wonder how everyone in the other universe turns out.

Looking at things i feel if Loki had been alive after IW, he will never be able to just settle down on Earth. And now Thor is the same too. They will probably just up and leave and travel. 'Cause for Loki especially, he's never going to be able to adjust with humans. The restrictions on him would be huge. I see him as the type who would leave through a hidden portal to other worlds.

I do feel like everybody's story hasn't really ended. Especially for Thor. He calls himself and Quills team as "Asgardians of The Galaxy" and if I'm not wrong there's a comic book of that name. Aside from that he, Quill and the team need to find Gamora and other Asgardians and return to Earth. And there better be a movie for that.
