hello beloved and happy nice ask week !!
i know we talked briefly in replies about buddy the vampire slayer, so i wanted to ask what you fav season, character, couple and villain from it are !! + if you wanna use this to gush about any other shows/characters you like feel free to (/nf) <3
Hi my dear Flare 💗
Thank you for giving me a chance to talk about my forever gal Buffy 👩🏼
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favourite character: Of course it has to be Buffy Summers. Strongest girl in the universe. I love everything about her. Her strength, her courage, her personality, her sarcasm and wit, her kindness, how much love she has for everyone around her 💗 She’s dynamic, she’s layered, she makes mistakes and she isn’t perfect. She just feels like a real person that you want to root for. We got to watch her go from adolescent to adult and persevere and survive it all. I could talk about her for hours!! SMG gives such a great portrayal of her and it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role
Favourite episode god there’s so many good ones! Let me just say ‘The Body’ S5 E16 is one of if not the best episode of television ever, one that you’ll rarely ever want to watch again. It’s a beautiful, heartwrenching exploration of grief and mourning. and in a show that deals with so much death and destruction from monsters the worst loss you have is a human death by natural causes 💔 That episode is so hard to revisit so I’m gonna give you a favourite that is a fun one! ‘Tabula Rasa’ S6 E08. In the episode, a spell goes bad and every character forgets who they are and it’s just so funny. You get a lot of references to earlier episodes and funny jabs about the characters usual selves and the comedy was a nice break from how serious the rest of the season is
My fave couple obviously involves Buffy herself. Spuffy or Spike x Buffy! Vampire slayer and vampire. Literally trying to kill each other enemies to lovers excellence. There’s a lot to say about this ship but the thing I fell in love with most about this paring is the fact they just capture your attention in any phase of their relationship. They're just so interesting!! The constantly changing dynamic is just something special. You’re invested when they're enemies, when they're reluctant allies, when they're lovers, and when they're something undefinable by the final season. Their journey is a long one fraught with so many differences and similarities to become a real love story. But in saying that the ship was definitely toxic and not all that healthy at times but whatever!! and I understand people who don’t like it because the writers certainly made a choice in one particular episode that really does sour the relationship. Also sorry not sorry if you’re a Bangel fan lol 😅 I have some fave ship quotes I can share too because look at the material:
“When I say I love you, it’s not because I want you, or because I can’t have you – it has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try… I’ve seen your kindness, and your strength, I’ve seen the best and the worst of you and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You’re a hell of a woman. You’re the one” LIKE they wrote that and I was supposed to be normal about it!! Impossible!!
“No you have to stay”, “You’ve got another demon fighting for you”, “That’s not why I need you here”, “Is that right? Why then?” “Because I’m not ready for you to not be here”(screaming btw!!)
“But I want you to know I did save you. Not when it counted, of course, but after that. Every night after that. I'd see it all again, do something different. Faster or more clever, you know? Dozens of times, lots of different ways. Every night I save you”
“Buffy, shame on you. Why does a man do what he musn't? For her. To be hers. To be the kind of man who would nev... To be a kind of man. And she shall look on him with forgiveness and everybody will forgive and love. And he will be loved”
“I've lived for sodding ever, Buffy. I've done everything. I've done things with you I can't spell, but I've never been close to anyone, least of all you until last night. All I did was hold you, watch you sleep and it was the best night of my life. So, yeah, I'm terrified”
Tumblr media
This is them in the final episode btw and I cry everytime 😭❤️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fave season has to be S3. Buffy’s last year of high school and the introduction of Faith, another slayer! The ‘big bad’ of the season Mayor Wilkins is one of the best too. It had great overarching themes, amazing character development and a satisfying conclusion. The season as a whole is probably the series most consistent and some of the best episodes are from it. It is just stacked with contenders if I sat here and named it would be the whole season 😂 ‘The Wish’ is a goodie, ‘The Prom’ is <3 ‘Helpless’ is just !!!! and the 2 part finale ‘Graduation Day’ is spectacular! It’s a fan favourite with good reason
The best villain is so hard because there’s so many great options, I’d say S3s Mayor Wilkins or S5s Glory. Mayor Wilkins is a reminder that the worst guy in the world is probably a white male politician lol!! he was also a demonic snake for anyone that doesn’t know 😂 and Glory! Buffy battled all kinds of vampires and demons and the S5 rolls around and her enemy is a legit God from a hell dimension😳 and by far the worst has to be S6s pack of complete losers ‘The Trio’ that these days we’d call incels 😂
Thank you for joining me on this journey of my og hyper fixation ❤️ and if anyone wants to ask me more about my fave shows pls do!!

The fact you also dabble in Naruto is a explosion on my heart, I have so many headcanons i wanna tell you about. I always see a lot of Naruto having top scars but my headcanon is Shikamaru is the one with top scars (Cause im a huge ShikaNaru) I wanna incorporate it into my writing but i don't wanna offend anyone cause i don't have a wide knowledge of the subject. So forgive me if i'm being offensive to anyone. I cannot get the idea of in Shikamaru's Genin years he didn't really care about his chest because it wasn't prominent enough to cause him any problems, he could wear his mesh net with just a jacket, no problems. After he became a Chunin he started growing up, his chest started growing too so he used the vest to cover his chest along with a binder. His parents don't mind, his mom would appreciate a girl but if Shikamaru wants to be a boy she's happy no matter what her son is, his dad is down as well, he's proud to have a son. ANYWAY Naruto one day hanging out with him see's him sitting back without his vest watching clouds together or smg, he grows curious and ask him what that is? why's he got a short undershirt thing? Shikamaru just tells him like it is, cause he's got something he doesn't like about himself, Naruto doesn't prey too much on the issue. After the timeskip Shikamaru has gotten top surgery and he's taking hormone therapy, Naruto thought he was doing drugs the first time he saw him do it. Shikamaru laughed when he said this. Later on some more when they are actually in their realationship Naruto, a alley with 0 knowledge of anything involving gender or stuff like that touches Shikamaru's bare when he's allowed to see it ask what those scars are, he's concerned somebody tried to kill him, once again making Shikamaru laugh. Im sorry to ramble on but i love them and i wanna talk about them.
OMG OMG OMG I LITERALLY LOVE SHIKANARU
transmasc shika omg im gonna collapse, i love to think that he was able to transition so peacefully because he had a great support system, his family was good to him and let him decide how he wanted to dress, and after becoming a genin Asuma just accepted when he said he was a boy, no questions asked !!!
I fully believe he had a crush on naruto since they were kids, but yk there was 'the whole village needs to hate him' thing so he never really got to act on it or interact much. Naruto has his own things going on so he is off to save sasuke and training and really doesn't have it on his mind to think about crushes or romance.
Shika gets top surgery as soon as his chest starts to bother him, he starts taking T, he trains, he's living his life, his crush never quite goes away but it's just something that it's there.
When naruto comes back and they see each other again, he notices shika is different, but like u said, he doesn't think much of it, except he feels Things now. Naruto, to me, feels like a character that does something about things, so if he starts feeling different I can't see him pining silently for years, he's just gonna talk and do something about it, so he does.
I don't think he fully realizes what his feelings are until he talks to shikamaru, shika kisses him on the lips and that's when naruto gets what this all means and what he wants.
I also fully believe Naruto is pan, I don't think he would care about gender at all, he likes people and that's about it, but like u said!!!!!! he also doesn't know a thing about gender, hormones, etc so he is very confused when he sees shika using T for the first time. I think it's very lovely that he thinks someone tried to hurt him when he saw the top scars, I can see them sleeping together and naruto just softly tracing it with his hands and telling shikamaru how handsome he is
ok so i may have gotten a bit too excited here but I'm just very passionate about them okay!! please talk to me more, I'm also open to a lot of ships in naruto

Leech Lord AU - Char Breakdown
Seifa A’rosk / Seifa Ur-Machina / Saint of the God King’s Mechanica
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bless u @nikyri-art and @lazulizard for the art! List of character traits and world-building facets for this character within my story. The Leech Lord Au is the one all other twins content I’ve written is set in.
Troy’s is HERE Tyreen’s is HERE
Note, ye asked and ye received. Literally my first OC ever, no clue what I’m doing, constructive feedback is 100% welcome.
Physical Details:
Right handed.
Very short, 4′11″, and rarely seen out of heeled boots.
5 years older than the twins, in her mid twenties when she came across the scabby looking rat who introduced herself as Tyreen.
Long auburn hair she usually wears in waves.
Right side shave, warm blue eyes, septum/eyebrow/labret facial piercings
Average bodyweight, hourglass shape.
Saint sigil tattoo between her shoulderblades.
Couple of small scars across torso, stab wound near navel, nicks across left ribs.
Visible facial scar is paper thin and streaks across her right brow into her hairline. Tells everyone this was from a knife fight, but was actually from an echodevice she was trying to scavenge components from blowing in her face a decade ago. Figures she might as well try and get some intimidation points out of it.
Relaxed punk aesthetic she carries into her engineering uniform.
Usually covered in homemade jewelry.
Backstory:
Sei is a migrant junker/mechanic, and has been running a solo career as one since her late teens.
She has no memory of family, and doesn't care in the slightest. Figures she was probably sold into child labor before she was old enough to remember who they were. Loses no sleep over this and rarely gives it any thought.
Grew up traveling with her "Boss" (head of the scavenging ring who managed herself and the other skinny little kids she was raised with) between different rim planets including Pandora, scrapping and repairing tech while scavenging the thousands of ship husks dumped during the corporate wars.
Spent her formative years constantly surrounded by other children and teens who helped each other get each other through what should have been a relatively lonely existence, and developed a close family bond with many.
Retained contact with a lot of them in adulthood. They operate a network of mechanics and engineers across the system, a few of which come to work within the COV Mechanica when they realise she can offer safety.
Spent her childhood and teens learning the art of the deal from her boss, accompanying him on trade runs, market dealings, debt collections, anything and everything he figured would help her in the long term. Learned everything she could while accompanying him as a kid, like a filthy little sponge in too-big overalls and a runny nose.
Engineering and mech skills have been honed from years of pulling apart and crawling into junked ships, repairing and reselling on components for profit.
At 19, she had saved enough to purchase a shitty little rehashed transport ship from her Boss, and set out to start her own trade. They've kept in touch and are on friendly grounds. Still calls him Boss. Never actually learned his name, it didn’t matter.
Seifa spends years migrating between outer planets, building a reputation with her bartering and trade skills. Playing idiot traders like instruments, flirting her way into high profit deals, and starting bar fights. She doesn’t take part in them mind you, she’s a lady. She just starts them.
It’s an easy way to get a group of “eager investors” to weed out the lesser competition, and leave you able to playfully manipulate yourself into the good graces of someone who’s too horny and pumped up on the hormonal rush of the fight to realise that they are the mark.
Moves to the next planet once she's outstayed her welcome, but always makes more friends than enemies.
At 25, finds a terrified and not remotely intimidating girl in a Pandoran junkyard, who pulls a gun on her. Tyreen tries to mug her with a shitty SMG that's clearly out of ammo, has a jammed trigger, and gets laughed at in response. Gets called a weird, stupid kid. Gets interrogated about how she is too old to be on Pandora and still alive if this is how clueless she is, so what’s going on?
Ty breaks down into tears and begs to please, please get her some medicine. Her "Brother is so sick” and he's “all she has now”, and they've “no money, no supplies. It wasn’t meant to go like this, it shouldn’t have gone like this but they didn’t know what it would be like.." and in a rare moment of empathy likely routed in years of being around kids this stupid, and clueless, and dumb ... Seifa helps.
Traits: ✓ Positive x Negative:
✓ Confident, both in her appearance and knowledge.
Sei is a jack of all trades, master of none. Her range of knowledge is broad and useful, and her confidence stems both from her well maintained physical appearance, and general competency in most situations where she needs to be.
✓  Socially skilled, fast learner, adaptable.
She’s been learning on her feet as long as she can remember, and is highly socially skilled, though a lot of her “nice” interactions can be a veneer. She holds people at arms length without them realising she’s not being as open and friendly as she appears.
✓  Self sufficient, reliable, trustworthy.
An adult lifetime of needing to rely solely on herself has left her highly sufficient, and very dependable. Seifa is the kind of person you call when you need something done, and don’t need to ask questions about how she gets you your results. You’ll get what you need.. just don’t hassle her about how she achieved it. You’ll be told to piss off, very clearly.
✓  Excellent negotiator, skilled in controlling conversations and manipulating others from years of trading for a living.
Seifa has been learning how to argue, shift conversations towards her own goals, and turn competitors on each other since she was barely able to carry a wrench. She’s an excellent dealer, and can drop into one of her many characters instantly when they’d help shift a contract towards her gain. Floozy giggling newcomer? Got it. Clueless naive big spender? No problem. Trade baroness about to crush your knuckles? Game on.
It’s something the twin strays she rescues are very interested in learning from her.
✓  Naturally friendly, and deeply caring for those she bonds with.
Sei is generally easy to get on with, between her decent set of social skills and ability to quickly read people, she comes across as quite friendly and overall pleasant to most people. She’s very slow to become genuine around others or show her caring side, an understandable side effect of the kind of life she’s lived, but her close friends are very close, and see her as one for life.
✓  Lawful Neutral.
Morals are decent ( for a Pandoran) , and is always willing to help someone if it's not too much hassle or won’t put her out. Like the majority of people living on this rock however, she won’t put strangers before her own safety or wellbeing.
x  Very vain.
Sei will sacrifice functionality for style in the Mechanicum without a second thought, and will become frustrated and snappy if unhappy with her appearance and forced into social situations. She’s had a lifetime of curating her looks and using them as a tool, and hates being seen “out of character”.
x Self focused.
She won’t risk harm physically or to her reputation for someone she has no stake in. Fact of life on Pandora is that people who do that don't tend to live very long, and she’s highly aware of that. Close friends and children are about it when it comes to who she’d take a risk for, and bandits slaughtering each other or ransacking towns is unlikely to be something she’d be very phased by. It’s not that she doesn’t care, she just doesn’t allow herself to.
x Irritable, easily brought to frustration or insulted. Holds grudges badly.
Seifa manages her collected and cool outer demeanor by pushing it over her emotional state. It’s a defense mechanism she’s learned from a lifetime of being in situations where emotion = weakness. Her high personal opinion of herself and pride in her skill means she takes to being insulted very easily. A subordinate who doesn’t show her respect won’t stay in her department long, and an equal who treats her like an underling? She will Never. Let. It. Go.
x Snappy and unpleasant when stressed or overworked, unable to handle emotion based arguments.
Seifa’s response to stress or frustration is to become overwhelmingly in control of the situation, and fiercely logical. Her social niceness evaporates and she defaults to the simple level of “Get this shit done NOW, and don’t question me” when it comes to dolling out required tasks. This is a bad thing to couple with arrogance. She is also completely incapable of arguing with someone who uses emotion instead of logic as their drive, and so while she is able to communicate with Troy very well even in heated times as they both default to logic, arguments between herself and Tyreen can become vicious, as neither is capable of expressing themselves in the other’s language when frustrated.
x Loyalty to close friends can overpower her better judgement in situations.
She’s completely aware of the hypocrisy of this weakness considering the front she likes to portray, being cold and unaffected by problems, but has never been able to stop herself from making this same mistake. Over and over.
x Noticeably arrogant, no respect for the chain of command.
Relying on her gut for survival through her life left her with an inflated sense of worth for her own opinion, and she finds it very hard to really convince herself that others may be the better option, or have more value than her own. This means she can also easily forget her place if she thinks a superior is in the wrong. Has earned her a stab to the abdomen and a broken wrist in the past. Both healed, both scarred. Her arrogance towards the twins, being that they are younger and far less experienced than her in general life, has caused multiple confrontation. She know’s it’s a problem, and she’s trying to get better. She really is.
Likes:
Money.
Personal freedoms.
Self reliance.
Feeling admired and appreciated.
Close companionships with friends who see her as an equal.
Her advice being heeded.
Growing plants.
Tinkering with smalltime tech and gadgets.
The safety of the COV meaning she can finally settle in one place.
Respect.
Being wanted, physically and emotionally.
Tenderness.
Gaming, watching movies, appreciating art.
Crafting jewelry from scrap
Having her gentle, caring nature be valued.
Men.
Dislikes:
Bullshit. Can't stand people who don't communicate logically.
Being spoken down to.
Her appearance being mocked or intelligence belittled.
Social sycophancy.
Being lied to, having her trust broken when she so rarely gives it.
Unfairness, aimed at her or those she feels protective over ( friends, underlings )
Pointless violence.
Risk taking.
Most things considered *edible* on Pandora.
Men. -

Disco 3.04: Forget Me Not
Tumblr media
The way Doug Jones delivered “Previously, on Star Trek: Discovery” this week—audibly out of makeup, almost entirely out of character, and over the super-intense footage from 3.02 of Disco plummeting helplessly to a shattered ruin of a planet—in such a brisk, cheerful little chirp had me laughing so hard I was wheezing. I could see his little mannerisms and everything 😂
I slept like a brick last night, so I’m a little too disoriented for much of a preamble. Let’s get right into it. Spoilers ahoy:
REPAIR ROBOTS!!!
Prop watch: the “salt-shaker” medical scanner Culber uses during his opening voiceover is by far the most elaborate we’ve ever seen on Star Trek. Try to fit that into the top of your tricorder. (I guess it’s connected to an iPad now...)
Adira has amnesia too? Literally a mystery wrapped in a mystery, lol.
Stop calling it a squid! It’s an ankylosaur! (ˈaŋkɪləsɔː)
Michael asks Adira on the bridge if the planet Trill looks familiar. Not to be a planet-racist, but don’t all Class M planets kind of look alike from orbit? I’m not sure I could reliably recognize that much of Earth, especially under so much beautifully rendered CGI cloud cover.
I’m going to be praising Doug Jones a lot this season—he’s not just playing Saru as captain, he’s playing Captain Saru in an interesting and distinctive way. He’s not the babysitting big brother anymore—now he’s their dad, and he’s still visibly getting used to the role. It’s played so sweet and subtle and I’m really loving it, and the way the show as a whole is leaning into the “family” vibe this season.
The holographic version of a red-yarn-string conspiracy board that Michael is using when she talks to Culber is one of those acceptable sci-fi breaks from reality for me. It looks super cool and futuristic, but imagine actually working like that for a few hours. Your arms would get exhausted. My neck hurts just watching her crane around. And the eyestrain of focusing on glowing shit, in mid-air, at various distances, with no backdrop whatsoever? Fuck off completely with that. But it’s simple and tactile, so the audience immediately understands the general idea of what she’s doing, and it’s literally see-through, so we can simultaneously know how she feels about it. And if you’re not a total weirdo like me, you won’t be thinking about any of this, except maybe “oh, neat!” when Culber first walks in—it just helps establish Michael’s state of mind at the beginning of the scene.
OKAY SO TWO EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT MICHAEL’S QUARTERS. First, she decorated!!! 😭😭😭 Last season they made a point of (repeatedly!) contrasting her uhhhh “minimalist” living space with Tilly’s more personalized and homey side of the room, and now they explicitly note that Michael either brought her 32nd-century knick-knacks over from Book’s ship or replicated a bunch of new ones for Disco, and frankly either scenario makes my heart want to scream into a pillow.
THE SECOND THING IS THAT SHE’S STILL LIVING WITH TILLY??? ARE YOU ACTUALLY KIDDING ME WITH THIS SAPPHIC SHIT. I WAS READY TO BID MY SAD FAREWELLS TO MYLVIA AND HOP ON THE BURNBOOK TRAIN AND YOU DO T H I S??? YOU’RE PLAYING WITH MY HEART, MICHELLE.
I thought it was unfair that people were criticizing the last episode for not like, fully developing every single one of the plot points it was obviously setting up to play out over the rest of the season—but fair or not, I was genuinely surprised when they came back to Michael’s insecurities around leadership, so I guess this show is still working on winning me over too.
“Post-traumatic growth... can inspire us to evolve, to live our lives in a different way.” Well, fuck 😭😭😭😭😭
This is going to sound like either rank sarcasm or damnation by the faintest of praise, but it’s actually a genuine and heartfelt compliment: I did not expect this show to ever even approach the emotional depths of the recent She-Ra reboot on Netflix, let alone include a conversation that directly evoked one of the most powerful moments of that entire series for me. “You know what I love about you most? You’re a responsibility hoarder” has the exact same energy as “You’re worth more than what you can give to other people,” and it sucker-punched me right in the goddamned heart. Let 2020 be the year all our overly self-sacrificing heroines learn to let themselves accept the same love and support they give so freely.
AND THEN SHE JUST LAUNCHES INTO BIG-SISTER MODE WITH ADIRA??? Put me in a photon torpedo and shoot me into space while Scotty plays Amazing Grace on the bagpipes because I am D-E-A-D dead. (Also any time SMG lets her accent out a little bit I just fucking swoon, and apparently that accent is an integral component of her big-sis persona, so 😍😍😍😍😍)
I have been waiting my entire life for a Star Trek character who stuns first and asks questions later.
No. No WAY. THIS is how the Disco computer becomes Zora??? Basically the same way Data created Moriarty, except with a boost from the sphere data, and driven by Saru wanting to heal the crew’s emotional trauma? Holy SHIT.
I’m not sure I realized how many gaps existed in Trill lore until now. We knew a lot about Dax’s specific experiences, but I never had a good sense for how “typical” Dax actually was, and I feel like I learned more about Trill in general in this episode than I did over seven seasons of DS9, which is cool.
Listen, Saru, if you want to have family dinners with the crew, sometimes they’re going to turn out like family dinners.
The closed captions when Michael was arriving in the Trill dreamscape or whatever said (ambient warbling), which is also one of my favourite genres of music.
“I know you’re afraid, but you have to let them connect with you.” OKAY, STOP, JUST STOP.
I guess it wouldn’t be Discovery if every other character didn’t have a grotesquely tragic backstory, but Adira and Gray’s managed to cram about half a dozen of my favourite romantic tropes into a few fleeting moments of screen time before crashing into my heart—much like an asteroid crashing into the side of a generation ship that really should have solved the “random asteroid collision” problem at, like, the blueprints stage—so this one hurt even more than usual.
(Looking forward to blocking all the cis people with ~scorching hot takes~ about Adira and Gray this week. If you’re not trans, then your feelings and opinions about this are literally meaningless to me.)
One of Tal’s previous hosts is seen in a circa-2399 Starfleet uniform, which unfortunately doesn’t fit him any better than it fit anyone on Picard. We also get a (presumably fairly contemporary) admiral’s uniform on Senna, but there’s a lady on the far left with a different style of uniform but the same “post-canon” oval-backed delta concept for the combadge, and I wanted to see more of that one.
AWWWWW, STAMETS ACTUALLY DID STOP BEING A JERK, GOOD FOR HIM <3 (And if I’ve learned anything from science fiction, it’s that dark matter can do literally whatever the writers want, so this seems like a promising road of inquiry!)
Is Gray going to live in Adira’s head like a non-toxic version of Six and Baltar on Battlestar Galactica? Because I am into it.
...and that’s four in a row that ended with a goddamned tsunami of feelings. It’s still finding its feet, but this new version of the show—this slower, softer, sweeter version of Discovery, and the things it’s even attempting—you could say it gives me hope.
Next week: we finally get to see Starfleet in the 32nd century, who are as friendly as everyone else has been so far, and I’m going to have to figure out who’s playing the admiral who talks to Michael in the trailer, because he’s such a “Hey, It’s That Guy!” I got whiplash.

6+7+ship, 12+episodes, 19?
6. What is your favorite ship?
Fuffy. Yeah the answer to that is definitely Fuffy. I love a good femslash ship, I love enemies to lovers, and Faith and Buffy have such an interesting dynamic. When they meet, they both want desperately what the other one has. Faith wants to have Buffy’s family, her money, her friends, her support system - basically, her various privileges that Faith never got to have. And Buffy is immediately attracted to Faith’s freedom, to the fact that she isn’t burdened with responsibility, and isn’t held to ridiculous standards by everyone around her.  And over the course of the show, both characters are essentially forced to confront and sometimes literally inhabit each other’s roles. And it takes until season 7 until they finally manage to unravel their romanticized view of each other, and see each other as complex human beings. It’s really juicy stuff.
Plus, they have excellent chemistry and are really hot together.
7. What is your least favorite ship?
This one is hard for me, because I don’t tend to feel very strongly about ships that I don’t personally ship (I mean there are exceptions, i.e. ships I loathe, but not really in Buffy). Um, I guess if we expand this to Angel, I’m not a fan of Fred/Wesley, mainly because I was lowkey a Fred/Gunn shipper, and I remember being very annoyed when I realized that the writers viewed it as a sort of throwaway relationship on the way to a Fred/Wesley endgame (sort of). Plus, Fred deserves better than Wesley.
12. Top five episodes.
shit, this one is hard. I generally have pretty obvious answers to stuff like this, and any ranking is going to change depending on my mood. But for today:
1. Once More with Feeling (I know, I literally could not be more obvious)
2. Conversations with Dead People (yeah, yeah, season 7, but dialogue heavy character pieces are my shit)
3. The Gift (it’s the best season finale in a show that is really fucking good at season finales)
4. Becoming (SMG should have won five different emmys for this episode alone)
5. Hush (I really appreciate that the show was very intentionally experimental, and pushed the boundaries of television as a medium. Season 4 is underrated, imo, because it has a lot of that, and Hush is the best example thereof).
Honorable mentions to the Body, which would’ve made the list if I enjoyed torturing myself, and Life Serial, because shut up, we all have our weird faves.
19. Tell me an unpopular opinion you have about the show.
I’m pretty sure this makes me a heartless monster, but I’m not all that bothered by Anya’s death in the final episode. Don’t get me wrong, I love Anya, she’s one of my favorite characters. But like, I guess for me, it was the final episode, it wasn’t like I was going to miss her next season. Also, I guess I just figured that some of our faves had to die, and as much as I would have preferred it to be Xander over Anya (mainly because I like her more), I can understand the logic of choosing someone who Buffy was less close to, because you need her to have that smile at the end, which would probably ring more hollow if in addition to Spike, she had just lost one of her best friends since high school.
That being said, I do absolutely agree with the general consensus that Anya’s character overall was hard done by the writers, and that she deserved more development and a larger role beyond being the comic relief. Because Anya is awesome.

Hi! So this is the first ask I've sent so I hope I'm not messing this up, but I was wondering what your five favorite Bangel scenes are? I'd also love to know your top three Bangel kisses. And finally: if you could change one thing about Bangel's arc, what would it be?
First, thank you for this ask!! Always love discussing Bangel! And also welcome to tumblr (and the fandom!) :)
My top 5 favorite Bangel scenes :
This is hard because they have so many amazing scenes that make my heart melt (or break) but those 5 are clear standouts for me!
1. Forever scene (Forever)
That scene is EVERYTHING. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to express the amount of love I have for this scene. The fact that he showed up just to be there for her. That she was able to talk to someone about how she felt and all her insecurities and worries and he was that person for her, that he was willing to stay as long as she needed him and HOW’S FOREVER? DOES FOREVER WORK FOR YOU? They fall back into this very comfortable dynamic but at the same time the feelings come rushing back and it’s all too much. But for one night, Angel is there for her and she’s able to get that one moment where she can be herself and vulnerable. It’s beautiful and that moment just means so much to me.
2. Angel shows up to the prom (The Prom)
Again with the Angel showing up lol :) The class protector scene is my favorite scene in all of btvs and it’s made even better when Angel shows up to the prom. I see it as the continuation of that scene because it’s her perfect HS moment. Anyway, I love that he got how important this was for her and did it just to give her that one moment. And they both look so pretty and pure, I love it so much!!
3. Happy in bed (I Will Remember You)
This is literally everything that I never knew I wanted for this ship??!!! The chance to see them get everything they’ve ever wanted and at their happiest and I don’t even mind that it was taken away. It makes it even more beautiful and special to me. I love how ridiculously happy they make each other. The tenderness and love in their eyes and their every touch always makes me smile like an idiot.
4. Close Your Eyes (Becoming Part 2)
Possibly the most epic scene for any ship ever? It breaks my heart every single time.
5. I Felt Your Heart Beat (I Will Remember You)
Also a heart breaker and the very best work SMG and DB have ever done together.
I haven’t mentioned some of my favorite moments because they’re too tiny to be considered scenes and I could go on for a long time just talking about my favorite bangel scenes/moments/things!
Top 3 Bangel kisses :
1. their first kiss in Angel
2. the ice skating rink kiss in What’s My Line Part 1
3. the sunlight kiss from I Will Remember You
But I love them all??!!! And this changes regularly except for their first kiss.
If you could change one thing about Bangel’s arc, what would it be?
I answered this a while ago and my answer is exactly the same so I’ll just link you to it here. :)
(If the comics count though just erase the season 8 stuff please, thank you) :)
Thanks so much for this ask!!! Glad to have you in the fandom!! :)

2, 3, 15, 22, 26, 31 for the shipping meme
just answered 2 & 3!
15. Have you ever “shipped at first sight”? hmm i don’t think so! i definitely have liked certain pairings at first, but they almost never turn out to be my otps. i usually need some time to get to know the characters before i can really ship them on more than a basic level of “they’d look cute together” or “these seem like the types of characters i’d ship”.
but that said...now that i think about it...maybe ed and winry? i don’t remember ever not shipping them or even being uncertain about it so that may be the exception.
22. Which of your ships have the best chemistry? omg...that’s so difficult. my first thought is btvs ships and probably spike/buffy, but faith/buffy also has sizzling amounts and buffy/angel isn’t too shabby either. smg just has...great chemistry with everyone tbh which is why i ship buffy with almost everyone at least a little. but out of those my otp is spike/buffy so we’ll say them! they definitely had the most opportunities to display the good-chemistry part anyway.
26. Have you noticed a pattern in your shipping? Is there a romantic dynamic you’re more drawn to? yes definitely. i love teamwork and i love when characters have some weird thing in common that others don’t get. i guess a fair amount of my ships seem like “opposites attract” pairings but i always think about what they have in common. for example, dan and blair from gossip girl - i would die for them, incidentally - seem like very different characters but they have a lot in common. they both struggle with feeling lesser, overlooked; they both want their lives to fit a sort of idealized narrative based on fiction; they’re both drawn to larger-than-life figures with clear identities because theirs are often so confused, etc. that’s something they have in common that the rest of the cast doesn’t really demonstrate, so you get to see a whole side of them that you don’t get to see with others.
that very last bit might be what’s the most important - the characters i ship tend to be my favorites (why dedicate all that time to boring characters) so i love discovering new sides of them. i liked buffy/angel because you got to see the darker side of buffy at that time, her at her most tortured (”when you kiss me, i want to die”) and you got to see angel - who was barely a character at that point - be tender and vulnerable. buffy/riley didn’t really add anything for me - it was buffy trying to be normal, which was already a buffy we saw with short-term romantic interests as well as in dozens of other plots in the first few seasons. but faith/buffy and spike/buffy both show very similar sides of buffy - buffy integrating both sides of her identity and figuring out how to be a slayer and herself at the same time. that’s interesting, that’s different. i might like buffy/angel and buffy/faith or spike the same for what it does for buffy (even though they’re at such different places narratively that it’s hard to compare), but cordelia/angel does way more for angel - we get to see him be silly, shy, vain, etc. so that became more appealing to me. that’s the difference to me between a ship i can enjoy within canon and a ship i want to see in every possible iteration from now until eternity. i could literally go on about this with everything i ship but...you probably don’t really want to read that haha.
31. Talk about one of your favorite headcanons for a ship you love.
it’s storming here and i think that’s tending me toward angsty ones so maybe i’ll type out a few and see if any turn out happy.
buffy makes a mix cd of all the dumb songs spike would play in their good moments and listens to it post-chosen. someone walks by and wonders why a woman is absolutely sobbing in her car while listening to the ramones.

willow grows flowers in memory of tara. she never uses magic and she sucks at it. the flowers die constantly, but she keeps trying, and eventually she gets better at it. there’s no grave to put them at anymore but she thinks tara would like them more this way.
(NO)
six weeks after giving birth, blair writes a poem. she hasn’t done that since high school, and then it was only because it was required. it’s not the best poem. it’s about a girl and a boy and a couch in brooklyn, and the raindrops and “moon river” playing and cheap pizza. she tears it up when she’s done. she’s not sure if she’s more worried about chuck finding it or about herself rereading it until she knows every word.
...okay well nobody died in that one so it’ll have to do.
thank you so much anon!!!
