What's a fever coat?

speaking as somebody who is in No way an expert, a fever coat is an unusual coloration that kittens get when their mother has a fever during their pregnancy! it shows up the best on black or dark colored kittens, but i think it can show up on others as well. it usually shows up as a silvery color, and fades as the kitten gets older. here's a few examples
