I wondered if anyone ever did a comparison of the Hotdog Combo you can get at Costco and Sam’s club, personally my family was more of a Sam’s Club fan so I’m more familiar with their dogs which are good. I’ve only been to Costco a couple of times so I can’t really say what their dog tasted like, definitely satisfying from what I remember.

In the eastern regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh), Pokecenters are taxpayer funded. This lets the price for Trainers be nothing, but does leave the facilities restrained to only the basics.

However in most other regions (notably Unova and Alola, but Kalos, Galar and Paldea experience this as well) Pokecenters are privately funded. For a long time, this caused many issues. Trainers would end up caught in a cycle where their Pokemon weren't strong enough to win any battles, but they didn't have enough money to afford a Pokecenter, so they couldn't get stronger to win battles.

Eventually, Pokemart Holdings LLC. came up with the idea to combine their Trainer supply stores with a Pokecenter. Trainers passing through a town were already going to stop at both anyways, so this let them save time and money on construction and land. Limiting the locations also served to further boost sales, as Trainers would want to avoid walking all the way back to the one place where any healing could be done.

With the majority of their profits coming from potion and Pokeball sales, Pokemart Holdings was able to drop the price of their Pokecenters lower and lower, eventually becoming free. This relentless undercutting soon drove out all other competition, leaving Pokemart Holdings the sole provider of Pokecenters in the western world.

When asked why they never brought back the fee, the CEO of Pokemart Holdings was quoted:

"We're successful, we're debt free, we own everything. Why have people who are struggling to buy a Pokeball pay for healing?"

Years later, during a time of economical hardship for PMH, an executive approached the CEO, presenting the idea of bring back the fee. He was then quoted: "If you raise the [expletive] heal price, I'll kill you. Figure it out."
