What's the lore with full moons??
Oh so like in TF2 there's an event called Scream Fortress in October where there's Halloween modes with like fighting a wizard and shit idk i havent gotten to play it yet, but part of it is the release of Halloween cosmetics. Most of them are p normal and just cosmetic changes, but some of the older ones actually would activate special voicelines when you wore them. For example, the original bird head cosmetics.
Halloween cosmetics are event locked, meaning you can only wear them in October OR on full moons. Idk why they set up this system but full moons are fun cause then everyone playing whips out their Halloween stuff and goes nuts. So a fan interpretation I've seen floating around is the main cast is just cursed to deal with transformations or other bullshit on full moons, which I enjoy immensely.
For Medic specifically, here's some of the cosmetics I've been taking insp from in some of my previous doodles
#valve doesnt fucking do anything with their game anymore but we still get new cosmetics every year cause theyre community created!#i dont have some of the cooler medic ones cause everyone price gouges his shit for some reason :(#but i do have archimedes the undying#which does have its own voicelines!

i think that with the 'should the man or the woman pay' thing if the man can prove he spent as much if not more on his physical appearance that day then he is allowed to ask her to pay.

we’ve got this room in our house that only exists because the people who owned our house before us built a new master bedroom upstairs and had to extend the downstairs area underneath to have somewhere for the bedroom to sit
it’s an extremely weird room - two of the walls are unfinished wood and the other two walls are 80% windows and a sliding door, and then the floor is half the same cobblestone that’s outside on the patio and half weird concrete and all of it is covered in these horrible rubber mats bc the people before us just used it as a dog run
anyway my long-term intent is to turn it into half a dining area and half a den with bookcases lining one corner and a little coffee/tea bar
and i was frustrated the other day bc these bookcases i wanted that would’ve been perfect are just a few inches too tall - we’ve got about 90in from floor to ceiling and the bookcases are 93in, and every other bookcase i was finding was like 70-ish inches, max, and i want floor to ceiling bookcases, goddammit
so my husband and i were kicking around ideas and i went “y’know at one point i had thought about just building a bookcase into the wall itself” and i could just IMMEDIATELY see the wheels turning in his head
he’s got tools, he’s decently handy. they get pallets in at his work all the time that just get tossed out and he could take them and break them down into boards and turn them into shelves
god the room’s gonna be so cool when it’s done
#someday. in like five years probably#there’s so much that needs to be done in there before we can even think about installing shelves#our house is very cool and was a great price for how much space it has#(we share the house with my best friend and we each have our own floor)#but it needs SO much like. cosmetic work#we need to paint everything. there are these absolutely HIDEOUS metal shelves in one room#our bedroom has a weird pipe running through it bc there used to be like a huge loom in there or something#in a couple places the doorframes do not fully connect to the wall and are just covered with duct tape#most of the outlets downstairs are like halfway up the wall! why! who is this for!#there’s a LOT going on#but we have a yard so big we had our wedding there#and we have a garage we plan to turn into a hangout space#and plenty of room for three adults and five cats and eventual (🤞) children#just gotta. work on the cosmetic stuff#megan’s personal life

not to sound completely bitchy but i do hope lip fillers go out of style soon. first of all i've always thought it has some really weird racial implications for white women to suddenly be treating big lips like a fashion trend but second of all i genuinely think it just makes people look like they have a medical issue most of the time. also one time when i was little i watched an episode of 1000 ways to die where a woman's breast implant exploded on a plane and tbh my brain just imagines people's lips doing that whenever they have too much filler in
#im just. like it used to basically just be celebrities who did cosmetic procedures#like maybe ur mom woulda known someone in high school who got a nose job or smth but like fairly uncommon in my experience#now it feels like half the women at walmart are full of botox and not only am i concerned about the widespread body dysmorphia of it all#but like.... where are we getting all this plastic? aren't we in a climate crisis do u rly need it in your face#not to mention surgeries in general are the most energy-demanding thing hospitals do#so do we rly need a bunch of people doing unnecessary surgeries en masse?#if ur considering lip fillers maybe try therapy instead? like i don't wanna be mean but it's a similar price#and it's much better for both the individual and the world#bri babbles

This new official art reminds me of that one chapter (168.5) where Yuuta and the gang learned about how little the minimum wage in Japan is and how unfair it is to have to work for the rest of your life…
#because wtf is 600 yen an hr I’d kms#they were only getting paid 600 yen hourly at this specific store but I saw that at the time of the store the minimum wage was like 900 yen#or so#that’s insane to me#remember when the minimum wage was like 6 dollars or so here back in the early 00’s *coughing up blood*#but the price of living wasn’t the worst yet especially if you received government assistance#idk how the price of living there but oh……#instead of working at a cafe they worked at Shoko’s friends cosmetics store#they weren’t gonna get paid their student stipend until two weeks 🥺#so cute#rambling

Couldn’t post the link so have added screenshots of the article instead. Kate used to be considered ‘huge’ with 1000cc years ago and this set is now double that size. She has gone up and down in size and look over the years though. She is by far the most successful glamour model in the UK and at her peak was worth tens of millions of pounds.
More recently she’s had severe financial and personal issues though and has been trying to work through them. Hoping she gets back on her feet and is able to put her troubles behind her. For those who don’t know she was the UK’s answer to Pamela Anderson
Fun fact: I went to see her old surgeon once, and he said no to me going bigger 😅😂

Love how cosmetics are under FDA regulation and they're required to list their ingredients so there's technically not much stopping me from just taking that list and making that shit at home
#the moon speaks#ive been getting a new special interest lately where i just research cosmetic ingredients and their chemical recipies#and just looking up that sole ingredient and finding out its purpose and price lol

do you know what your most played game is?
on steam it's appearently Team Fortress 2 with 2,460 hours, with Garrys Mod about 10 hours behind.
i don't really play either much these days due to my laptop though. can't say that Team Fortress 2 would be any higher though these days, hours-wise, if that weren't the case.
#ask#anon#idk what the non-steam equivelant would be#mario 64 maybe? id say paper mario TTYD but most playthroughs ive done run between 30-40 hours per save file.#so totalled up. wouldnt even be close to tf2 or gmod since theyre in the 2000s#sadly i dont play a lot of games these days. i do a lot more watching than playing.#it sucks but :( yeah#OH. Minecraft would probably be behind gmod. maybe like 1000 hours at minimum? probably less.#id love to play minecraft again someday... my boe skin still goes unused.....#i still have the save file to my first world#i use to work on it like every day#had a town surrounded by cobblestone walls with my house in a mountain#im talking pre-beta mountains.... oughh.....#speaking of boe and tf2. its possible to make him into a pyro loadout#but he costs like almost 20 dollars. which. given that i cant run tf2 well.... isnt worth it.#atleast. going off market prices. paints and all.#firehawk. that one recent skull cosmetic. the trenchcoat. all the right paints.#anyway thank you for the ask anon :)#sorry my answer isnt more interesting

I hate to be the party pooper but the lotion isn't the issue if you actually read the ingredient list and looked into how lotions are made; op would have to use an absurd amount of lotion to attract spiders if it was just a pheromones alone. And they wouldn't just be attracting 1 type of spider.
Op most likely has a wolf spider problem and the follow up posts is just people having fun and being on the side of misinformation (one of them literally says studies but doesn't cite shit)
But Ima keep it real, if you're spending $43 ($48 with tax, holy fuck that's ridiculous) on body lotion that smells bad & doesn't deter wolf spiders, it's a bad lotion. Ideally the best scented lotions are made up with scents that deter all insects like vanilla, lemon grass, mint, and lavender {to name a few}.
So, although accidental, op proved the quality of the Sephora lotion is shit for the price (which isn't a surprise, it's Sephora) and hopefully they can get in touch with an exterminator to resolve their possible infestation {I really hope it's just coincidence based off where they live & work and they're not living actually living with a big nest unknowingly}
has anyone else been seeing the tweets about a lotion from sephora that attracts spiders
#$43 lotion can't stop spiders is 100x worse than attracting if you live in a spider heavy place tho#tldr if you hate bugs- wear bug repelling scents during the time of the year bug repellent isn't as necessary#also im pretty sure the cosmetic chemist on tiktok did a way more indepth video yesterday about this - confirming the lotion is mid#as a cosplayer ima insult Sephora at every turn i get for overpricing bad products and raising prices of products as a glorified reseller#god i wish they made spider attracting lotion just to prove my point thqt they suck- but alas they are just mediocre

The Ultimate Guide to Glycerine: Uses, Benefits, and Where to Buy
Introduction
Glycerine, also known as glycerin or glycerol, is a versatile and widely used compound in many industries. This clear, odorless liquid is a sugar alcohol that occurs naturally in both plant and animal sources, though most glycerine used today is produced through the hydrolysis of fats and oils. Whether in skin care, pharmaceuticals, or the food industry, glycerine is an essential ingredient that offers numerous benefits.
In this article, we will explore the many uses of glycerine, its properties, and where you can buy it in bulk from trusted glycerine distributors and suppliers. Additionally, we will dive into the various types of glycerine, such as vegetable glycerine, organic glycerine, natural glycerine and pure glycerin, to help you better understand which type fits your needs.
What Is Glycerine?
Glycerine is a compound classified as a sugar alcohol (or polyol). It is an odorless, clear, and viscous liquid that has a sweet taste. Glycerine naturally occurs in plants during the fermentation of sugars, but today most glycerine is produced through the hydrolysis process of fats and oils.
The first man-made production of glycerine occurred in 1779, when Swedish chemist K. W. Scheele boiled a mixture of olive oil and lead-containing chemicals, eventually isolating a thick, sweet-tasting liquid he called "glycerol" (derived from the Greek word glykos, meaning "sweet"). Since then, glycerine has been widely used in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food manufacturing.
Glycerine Types and Forms
There are different forms of glycerine available depending on the source and the manufacturing process. Some of the most common forms include:
Vegetable Glycerine: Sourced from plant oils, usually palm or coconut oils, vegetable glycerine is a popular option in the cosmetic and food industries due to its natural origin.
Organic Glycerine: Made from organically grown plants, organic glycerine is free from pesticides and chemicals, making it a desirable choice for eco-conscious consumers.
Refined Glycerine: This type of glycerine is highly purified, removing impurities and making it suitable for sensitive applications such as pharmaceutical products.
Pure Glycerin: This refers to glycerine liquid that is almost 100% pure, often used in medical and pharmaceutical settings, as well as in food manufacturing.
Glycerine Oil: When glycerine is mixed with oils, it can be used for its moisturizing properties in lotions and skin-care products.
Glycerine Uses
The versatility of glycerine makes it an essential ingredient in a wide range of applications. Here are some of the most common uses of glycerine:
In Cosmetics and Skincare: Glycerine in cosmetics is known for its ability to hydrate the skin. As a humectant, it attracts moisture from the air and helps retain it on the skin, making it a key ingredient in moisturizers, lotions, and cleansers. Glycerine is also found in lipsticks, eye creams, and hair conditioners.
In Pharmaceuticals: Glycerine is used in the production of medicines, including glycerine suppositories, where it acts as a laxative. It also plays a role in intravenous solutions to reduce brain pressure in medical conditions like meningitis and encephalitis.
In Food and Beverages: Glycerine is used as a sweetener and preservative. It is often found in candy, cookies, and even ice cream for its ability to maintain a smooth texture. Glycerine also helps maintain moisture in food products, preventing them from becoming dry or stale.
In Soap and Detergents: Glycerine is used in the manufacturing of soaps and detergents, where it helps moisturize the skin and improve texture. Glycerine soaps are especially popular for their gentle, non-drying qualities.
In Industrial Applications: Beyond personal care products, glycerine is used in lubricants, antifreeze, and even in the production of certain plastics due to its unique chemical properties.
Glycerine Density and Properties
Glycerine is a dense, viscous liquid, with a density of around 1.26 g/cm³ at 25°C. It is highly soluble in water, which contributes to its widespread use in both liquid and glycerine gel forms. Glycerine also has excellent preservative properties, which is one reason it is commonly used in the food and cosmetic industries.
The compound has several beneficial glycerine properties, including being a solvent and having a high boiling point, which makes it ideal for use in various industrial applications. Glycerine's ability to act as a humectant helps prevent the evaporation of water, which makes it an important ingredient in skin care products, as it helps retain moisture in the skin for longer periods.
Glycerine in Cosmetics: Glycerine vs Glycerol
Many people often wonder if glycerine and glycerol are the same. The answer is yes—glycerine and glycerol are essentially the same compound, with glycerol being the chemical name for glycerine. Whether you refer to it as glycerine or glycerol, the benefits and properties remain unchanged.
In the cosmetics industry, glycerine is prized for its ability to moisturize the skin and improve the texture of beauty products. It is commonly found in moisturizers, facial cleansers, shampoos, and shaving creams. Pure glycerin and vegetable glycerine are especially popular for people with sensitive skin.
Buying Glycerine: Where to Buy and Wholesale Options
When looking to purchase glycerine, it's important to choose a reputable supplier to ensure you're getting high-quality, pure glycerine for your needs. Many industries, such as cosmetics, food production, and pharmaceuticals, require bulk quantities of glycerine, so sourcing it from a trusted glycerine distributor or glycerine supplier is key.
For those looking for large quantities, glycerine wholesale options are available, allowing businesses to buy glycerine in bulk at competitive prices. If you're a consumer or small business looking to buy glycerine in smaller quantities, many online stores offer pure glycerin and vegetable glycerine, so you can find the best deals.
If you're wondering where to buy glycerine, you can find reputable suppliers online or contact glycerine manufacturers directly for information on their products and pricing. Buying glycerine online is convenient and often the most cost-effective way for individuals and businesses to source it.
Glycerine Manufacturing Process
The process of manufacturing glycerine typically involves the hydrolysis of fats and oils, either animal or vegetable-based. This process breaks down triglycerides into their components: fatty acids and glycerol. The glycerol is then purified to remove any impurities, resulting in the glycerine used in various products.
Organic and vegetable glycerine are produced through more eco-friendly and natural methods, appealing to environmentally-conscious consumers. The manufacturing process is highly regulated to ensure that the glycerine meets the required standards for its intended use, whether in food, cosmetics, or pharmaceuticals.
Conclusion
Glycerine is a highly versatile compound with many applications across various industries. Whether you're looking for it as a moisturizing agent in skin care, as a preservative and sweetener in food products, or as a laxative in medical treatments, glycerine is an essential ingredient that benefits many areas of life.
