One of the best things about corpse party is that among the main cast of love interests there's two characters, Mayu and Sakutaro, who narratively really have no reason not be in a romantic relationship. They both have confirmed romantic feelings for the other and they're best friends.

Except, it's revealed in an extra chapter that prior to her death, Mayu saw Sakutaro walking arm-in-arm with another friend of their's, Yoshiki. Without being able to hear them squabbling at each other, Mayu misreads the situation as the two having a secret relationship and smiles as she says, "Don't worry, Shig! I won't tell a soul!" before running off.

While it's mostly played as a one-off joke, the extra chapter's inclusion seems to imply that Mayu never asked out Sakutaro in favor of being an ALLY 😭✊️🏳️‍🌈
