always a bit off-putting to me when people say fight club is old man yaoi.. They are thirty years old and in good physical shape and are not balding this is not-young-but-not-middle-aged-yet yaoi. Real old man yaoi should be retirement age.

fight club is actually gothic lit if you think about it. there's an old rotting victorian mansion as a metaphor for the inhabitants moral decay, there's a mentally ill unreliable narrator, a sickly goth girl in a long vintage dress.... it's got everything needed
the only variable turning it sort of "frat guy gothic" is that a manic depressive genius owns the place and he tears up the basement into barracks for his anarchist cult and turns the first floor into a sweat shop for his soapmaking side hustle. personally I love the improvements Tyler Durden makes on the genre
