UFRJ alerta para aumento de casos de covid-19 CTD/NEEDIER recomenda o retorno ao uso de máscaras em ambientes fechados ou de aglomeração Na quinta-feira, 3/11, o Centro de Triagem Diagnóstica (CTD/NEEDIER) emitiu nota técnica sobre o aumento do número de casos de covid-19. Para emitir o parecer, o CTD/NEEDIER considerou os resultados de testagem para covid-19, que demonstram o aumento da positividade, nas últimas semanas, de 2,6% em setembro para 18,3% em outubro. A nota divulgada recomenda o retorno ao uso de máscaras em ambientes fechados ou de aglomeração. Devido à fase atual da pandemia e à cobertura vacinal estimada pelo Corpo Social da Universidade para covid-19, o CTD não recomenda a interrupção/suspensão automática de atividades presenciais. Until we get there though, its so important to keep:

- A 2+ metre distance when out and about.

- Wear a face mask, especially when outside, or if unwell - even if not COVID-19). You can get masks with awesome designs too.

- wash hands regularly.

- To maintain connected, arrange zooms with friends and family, search out any activities you can get involved in, like quizzes.

- If rapid testing comes to your city, take part! This is a fantastic way to suss out who has the virus without symptoms, so they can self-isolate to #savelives. I am delighted that 200,000 took part in Liverpool's rapid testing that piloted it. The number has come down from 2715 positive cases per week to 573. This is fantastic, and alongside the vaccine, may be the only way we are out of this situation completely.
