Watch How a COVID Positive Suspected Patient Delivers a Baby
This video aims to demonstrate • Provision of quality intrapartum services to a COVID-19 suspect / confirmed case in labor • Prevention of further transmission of the disease. The following points were highlighted 1. Delivery in an isolation ward - As many of the infected pregnant patients may be asymptomatic all patients who attend the labor room are to be tested and managed accordingly. If the test report is awaited then the patient is to be managed as Covid-19 positive patient. They have to be segregated from healthy women in labor. Hence the delivery room should be away from the main complex. The Covid-19 infected pregnant woman can be allowed to deliver normally. Interventions are done if there is an obstetric indication or there is a deterioration of the general condition of the laboring woman. 2. Use of Level 3 PPE kit - During labor, the laboring patient should be attended by the Health Workers wearing Level 3 PPE kit. 3. Use of Masks - The laboring patient should have a mask on. This will prevent the spread of the infection from the woman to the attendants and reduce fomites. 4. High-risk condition - Maternal and fetal wellbeing is to be monitored electronically throughout labor. If at any time the woman experiences shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, or deterioration of the patient’s general condition, she may need to be transferred to ICU. 5. Care of the laboring woman - The woman needs constant reassurance. She needs to be encouraged through labor. • Fetal Monitoring is done using CTG • Maternal vitals are monitored constantly o Pulse oximeter -Oxygen saturation is maintained above 94% o BP monitoring • Labor is augmented by ARM • Mode of delivery is not be altered by the coexisting disease. • There is minimal skin to skin contact. 6. Anaesthesia in Pregnant Women with COVID-19 infection - If a caesarean is to be done then regional anaesthesia is to be used and aerosol generation to be minimized. 7. Newborn corner - The newborn corner should be located 2 meters away from the delivery table or in a separate room where possible.

eNext ICU” as a relief for the healthcare workers in COVID-19 Situation
The year 2020, was the year when people realized the importance of health as an entity and healthcare providers as its irreplaceable core. As per the WHO reports, the deadly coronavirus has infected more than 112 million people worldwide. The safety of the healthcare workers is the topmost priority because they are scarce, limited in numbers, and on the frontline in the fight against this deadly virus. The high prevalence of COVID19 needs an innovative approach to come out of this combat situation with minimal if not zero losses. A modern approach with Tele-Medicine at its core value acts as a valuable solution to provide a good quality of care and minimizing the risk of acquiring the infection by healthcare workers.
In this context, eNext ICU, Gurugram, India, came across with its already active Tele-ICU services to provide critical care to corona positive ICU patients in different rural areas where critical care is still a challenge in terms of scarcity of PPE kits, high risk of being infected during the care, lack of availability of ICU beds and ventilators, and the shortage of trained critical care staff.
In collaboration with different state Governments with the facilitation of various CSR funding entities like ACT Grants and CII Foundation, eNext ICU made it possible to provide expert advice in the screening of patients and triaging them into various COVID units depending upon clinical needs. Expert and trained teleicu staff still provide24/7 monitoring via 2-way audio-visual cameras, clear instructions & advice regarding the need of admitted patients, and serve as a resource hub for the bedside team by providing the first line of treatment to the patients. With this model of TeleICU, bedside healthcare providers have an instant resource to connect with; a remote specialist anytime in an emergency or for better guidance on handling this yet ill researched disease.
eNext ICU operated various Govt. Covid ICU beds remotely through a centralized command center across 4 states of India including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh & Haryana. They targeted the remote & rural areas like Neemach, Guna, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Betul, Ujjain, Morena, Mandsaur of Madhya Pradesh; Raigarh and Ambikapur of Chattisgarh; Rohtak, Faridabad, Nallahar, Sonipat of Haryana; and Mira Bhayander, Jalna, Bhiwandi, Aurangabad, Solapur, Akola, Jalgaon of Maharashtra, where critical care services were not geared up to fight the killer disease.
Each patient in these ICUs was monitored by specialists via leveraging technology and provided with continued vigilance even during the night hours. Even though, this innovative approach is still being challenged in India by many factors but so far has resulted in a positive outcome in terms of decrease in mortality and morbidity rates, less chance of spread of infections, shortening in the length of stay in Intensive care units, etc.
In this way, eNext ICU was able to structure & implement Tele-ICUs in various Government Hospitals to provide an extra layer of critical care in this pandemic which is a less expensive but effective solution to serve humanity.

Superspreader protest? As experts worry about Covid, farmers say new laws bigger threat to their survival
NEW DELHI/SONIPAT: The shadow of the pandemic looms large and experts warn their agitation could well be a Covid-19 superspreader but farmers, some in masks and many without them, protesting in Delhi and at gateways into the city say the new farm laws pose a greater threat to their survival. As thousands of farmers, mostly from Punjab and Haryana but also from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, protest at the national capital’s border points and in north Delhi’s Burari ground for the fifth day on Monday, Covid-19 continues its spread. There have been few signs of social distancing during the protests that started last week with the farmers, banded under various organisations, leaving their homes and moving towards Delhi. “A protest is a mass gathering and thus from a public health perspective, I would urge protective and preventive behaviour against the spread of coronavirus infection, failing which a superspreading event might set in,” cautioned Dr Samiran Panda, head of the Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases division at the Indian Council of Medical Research. Seeking strict compliance with norms, he said it is important to note that SARS-COV-2 is a transmission efficient virus and such gatherings are conducive to its spread. Many of the farmers, threatening to block all five entry points into the capital, said they are aware the infection is still raging but the Centre’s new farm laws are a bigger threat.
Gurmeet Singh from Faridkot in Punjab, for instance, has been at the Burari ground, one of the largest in the city, for three days and counting. And he has no intention of moving. For him, and hundreds of other farmers at the North Delhi ground where they were allowed to congregate, the three contentious farm laws are a bigger disease. “We may even survive corona, but how will we survive this cruel law that will take away our bread and butter,” Gurmeet told PTI. In another corner of the sprawling ground, a team of seven medicos from Delhi’s AAP government has tested over 90 farmers for Covid-19 since November 28. “There have been no positives as yet,” said a medical officer on the condition of anonymity. “We tested 40 people on the 28th, then another team took over, and today we have tested 50 people so far,” the officer said. Several e-rickshaws roamed the ground to create awareness of the disease and the necessity of wearing masks and maintaining hand hygiene. But the message appeared to be getting drowned out in the slogans, protest songs and speeches.
Gursharanjeet Singh from Bilaspur, Uttar Pradesh, said his family is entirely dependent on produce from their six-acre farm. “If we stay careful we won’t get corona, but if we don’t protest against these farm laws and this government we will definitely die of hunger,” he said. His desperation finds resonance at the Singhu and Tikri border points, where farmers have been camping in large numbers. Some volunteers were distributing masks to the protesting farmers. As the farmers, many of whom came in tractor-trolleys and trucks in preparation for a long haul, continued their protest, two doctors, Sarika Verma and Karan Juneja, were at Singhu, urging them to wear masks and maintain social distancing. “We are also offering treatment if anybody faces any problem or injury,” Verma said. Delhi has already been witnessing a spike in Covid-19 cases post Diwali celebrations and with pollution levels increasing. On Sunday, the city recorded 4,906 new Covid-19 cases and 68 fatalities, taking the total number of cases to 5,66,648 with 5,22,491 recoveries. The number of India cases is 94,31,691 with 38,772 new infections, according to Union health ministry data on Monday. Dr K K Aggarwal, president of the Confederation of Medical Association of Asia and Oceania (CMAAO) and former IMA president, said the farmers’ agitation should not have been allowed by the government. Politics should never get precedence in a pandemic, he said. “Government has the powers under the Diseases Epidemic Act to take control of any situation which can spread the infection,” he said. “The farmers’ agitation will end up in superspreading events which will not only be a danger to Delhi but also to the whole country,” he asserted.
As experts worry at the lack of safeguards to prevent the infection from spreading, Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) president Joginder Singh Ugrahan said the farmers fear they will lose their livelihoods. “The new farm laws brought by the (Narendra) Modi government are a bigger threat than coronavirus,” the farmer leader told PTI over the phone. Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher asked why coronavirus posed a serious threat to life only during the farmers’ agitation, and not during the recent Bihar assembly polls. “When Bihar elections took place, where was Covid-19? When any political gathering takes place, where is coronavirus,” he asked, an apparent reference to the election rallies. He claimed the issue comes up only when farmers begin an agitation for their rights. A spokesperson for the BKU’s Haryana unit led by Gurnam Singh Charuni said farmers are trying their best to keep Covid-19 at bay. “As much as we can, we are trying to follow the guidelines. But at the moment thousands of farmers are saying that getting the Centre’s farm laws rolled back is the first priority as these will anyway destroy them,” he said. He said it is now up to the Centre to accept their demands. When asked if they fear that the infection may spread as thousands have gathered over a large area, he said, “No farmer fears this disease at the moment. All they have on their minds is to get these laws rolled back.” At the Sonipat border, a Haryana Health Department official said they have so far distributed 5,000 masks to the protesting farmers. “Also, after every kilometre we have stationed an ambulance,” he said.
‘Have come to Delhi for decisive battle’ Meanwhile, farmers protesting at Delhi border points said they have come to the national capital for a “decisive battle” and asserted that they will continue their agitation until their demands are met. Addressing a press conference at Singhu border, a representative of protesting farmers said that they want Prime Minister Narendra Modi to listen to their “mann ki baat’. “Our demands are non-negotiable,” he said and claimed the ruling party “will have to pay a heavy price” if it does not heed to their concerns. “We have come here to fight a decisive battle,” he said. Union home minister Amit Shah had appealed to the farmers to shift to the Burari ground and had said the Centre was ready to hold discussions with them as soon as they move to the designated place. A meeting of over 30 farmer groups on Sunday rejected Shah’s offer for talks before the scheduled date of December 3 and demanded an unconditional dialogue. Thousands of protesters refused to budge and spent another night in the cold at the Singhu and Tikri border points. Their representatives had said that Shah’s condition that they shift the protest is not acceptable and claimed Burari ground is an “open jail”. Mobile toilets have also been installed at various points and sanitisation is being regularly carried out, he added. The contentious laws are the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. Unions have expressed apprehension that the new agri-marketing laws enacted at the Centre will lead to the dismantling of the minimum support price (MSP) system, leaving farmers the mercy of big corporates. The government, however, says that the new laws give farmers options to get higher prices for their crops and the MSP regime will still continue.

Renowned Ayurveda Expert Acharya Manish- COVID Era Has Resulted In The Re-Emergence Of AyurvedaUnique Initiative: Renowned Ayurveda proponent Acharya Manish spearheads distribution of free immunity booster medicines to COVID patients across India Renowned Ayurveda expert Acharya Manish– “COVID era has resulted in the re-emergence of Ayurveda.” Acharya Manish chalks out ambitious expansion plan for ‘Shuddhi Ayurveda’, aims to set up over 200 more clinics across India by year end Well known Ayurveda expert Acharya Manish’s immunity boosting medicines turn many COVID 19 patients across India negative in 3 days flat New Delhi/NCR, July , 2020: Award winning Ayurveda expert & motivational speaker – Acharya Manish, has initiated a social campaign to counter the spread of COVID 19. Acharya Manish uses age-old therapies of Ayurveda to promote the 5000 – years – old vedic science. It is noteworthy that Acharya Manish has founded ‘Shuddhi Ayurveda’ an Ayurvedic Clinic & Research Centre at Zirakpur. ‘Shuddhi Ayurveda’ already has presence across India through 105 clinics which are helping patients adopt Ayurveda to counter all type of diseases. It is noteworthy that ‘Shuddhi Ayurveda’ has a presence in Delhi NCR with 5 clinics in Delhi, 3 in Gurugram and 1 each in Faridabad & Noida. To fight against COVID 19 an intense research conducted by Ayurvedic doctors under the guidance of Acharya Manish was done and an immunity boosting pack – ‘Shuddhi Herbal Immunity Package’ was made. Using this pack & specialised anti COVID medications Acharya Manish started an initiative to help needy people, who were not able to afford expensive medicines, against the n Coronavirus. A helpline number 8273183731 was established , where calls from across the country were and are still being received and already as many as 500 needy people have asked for the package & customised medicines all of which are certified by AYUSH. Acharya Manish said, “As the pandemic has struck the whole world, millions of people have lost their jobs. People infected with the virus don’t even have money for their medical treatment. Therefore we decided to conduct a social initiative and distribute our anti COVID combo free to COVID patients.” He highlighted, “In the combo we have included three medicines, Vish Har Ras, thirty two (32) herbs tea and Ayush Kwath. Vish Har Ras has major ingredients like Neem & Giloy, which have high antiviral properties. The tea contains 32 medicinal herbs like elaichi, dalchini which have antioxidant properties and Ayush Kwath contains tulsi, pepper and shunthi which help in increasing immunity. I am happy to say that many of the COVID 19 patients turned negative in just 3-4 days of using our immunity booster pack and other medicines.” It is pertinent to state that many elated patients’ who turned negative in just 3-4 days of taking the medication sent back videos of their experience and also advocated adopting Ayurveda for a healthy lifestyle. Patients who benefitted were not only spread across Delhi NCR but even states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, UP, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Himachal and West Bengal. Beneficiaries included those with COVID like symptoms, those who wanted to protect themselves from the disease and Corona positive patients. As many as 100 COVID positive patients turned negative after 3 days to a week of using the medicines. When Corona entered India, Acharya Manish had told the central government that with the help of Ayurveda, the disease can be prevented, PM Modi himself also announced that with the help of Ayurveda one can increase the immunity to prevent the virus infection. “The sad part is that even in the land where Ayurveda was born –India, the science has always been given lesser importance than Allopathy. But now due to benefits people are witnessing from Ayurveda in countering COVID 19, Ayurveda is again getting recognition and it is a matter of time before Ayurveda becomes a preferred treatment protocol in India.” Opined Acharya Manish. Ignited by the idea of promoting Ayurveda as a way of life and to make the saying ‘Vocal for Local’ a reality in India’s healthcare sector, Acharya Manish has chalked out an ambitious expansion plan for ‘Shuddhi Ayurveda’. Under this, over 200 centres in addition to the existing 105 clinics of ‘Shuddhi Ayurveda’ will be set up by this year end.

COVID-19 PROJECTS AT KRMU: AN EFFORT TO RAISE AWARENESS AMONG THE YOUNG GEN
We all know how badly the coronavirus infection has hit the world. Our very own nation, India, is also under a complete lockdown since a long time now, and despite all the efforts, the count of corona positive patients is constantly rising with each passing day. As the Covid-19 continues to evolve, having a good knowledge of the outbreak, symptoms, preventive hygiene practices, and the implications of the outbreak is becoming all the more imperative for each one of us. To that end, we, at the K.R. Mangalam University, one among the Top Ranked Universities in Haryana, have taken an initiative to instill in our students the knowledge of COVID-19 so as to enable them to spread awareness in the society.
We, at KRMU, believe that educating students about the facts and misconceptions of the outbreak along with its risks and statistics would enable them to disseminate valid information that matters a lot to our lives and livelihoods in these unprecedented times. We believe that once armed with the knowledge, our students can educate a larger group of people, and in turn, benefit the community as a whole. This is why we have launched a project titled, “Unlocking the Lockdown: Interdisciplinary Focus on Covid-19’s Impact and Global Responses”. This trans-disciplinary project aims to explore the various facets of Covid-19 outbreak and its impending impacts on varying perspectives.
Through this project, we aim to bring in an immensely satisfying, meaningful, and enriching experience for our students. We are striving to provide a broad set of themes to our students to help them gain in-depth knowledge about the existing pandemic and encourage them to come up with relevant solutions for the same. There are a set of projects under the main title, and each project will bring active participation of students in respective topics, giving them profound insight into the situation.
Portrayal of Covid-19 as an epidemic/disaster studies the impacts of risks and spread of coronavirus in the society along with developing solutions to administer relief operations. It aims at finding if innovative technological solutions like Drones Sanitization and ML can help mitigate the effects of the pandemic and prepare the society for the future.
Nature of Epidemic – Past vs Present analyzes the corona crisis in terms of transmission, symptoms, treatment strategies, fatality, rate and the proportion of infected people. This would give an insight into whether India’s epidemic model of COVID-19 is tackling the outbreak successfully.
Conversion of Community Spaces into Quarantine Zones addresses the need for redefining the spaces around us for precautionary measures and medical attention.
Life Cycle of Covid-19 – Stages and Treatment would shed light on the unprecedented speed of transmission and progress of the virus.
Projects based on Health, Hygiene and Immunity Boosters during COVID- 19 will allow students to derive a deeper understanding of the preventive and control practices carried out during this outbreak.
Projects addressing the mass evacuation, moral as well as legal obligations caused by the crisis in various countries would bring an insight into the threat the world would face if Covid-19 is left to emerge as a biological weapon or a legal weapon against people.
Students addressing about COVID-19 and Global Economic Recession would provide an insight into the impending impacts of the global pandemic in the Indian economy and how it would affect businesses in the aftermath.
The project based on Narratives and Media on Pandemic: A Contextual Study on Covid-19 focuses on the dynamics of media in spreading information, either authentic, controversial, or fake news. It will evaluate if the media providing awareness to the public or creating mass hysteria?
Starting Afresh: World after COVID-19 focuses on the chronology of the pandemic, refuted theories, and stories of survivors, detailing the mistakes and precautions that should be taken into account while dealing with any future pandemic situation.

Covid-19: Highly contagious Disease and other viruses
Like a wildfire, Covid-19 has unfolded throughout the sector and is wider than SARS in 2003. In less than three months, the unconventional coronavirus has infected thousands and thousands. Scientists all over the world are searching for the way how to beat coronavirus. This virus is a way more contagious than Swine Flu.
If you cautiously inspect records, you'll comprehend each virus is one of a kind. And the effects depend on the manner the state of affairs evolves.
All viruses in the world behave in another way and additionally deposit special incubation periods. In different words, how lengthy the virus will take to reveal its signs and symptoms on the infected individual is differs from virus to virus.
Incubation depends on its nature and traits. In addition, the length that the individual will continue to be contagious additionally differs.
Let's take a look at some past pandemics:
Influenza pandemic
The maximum intense and deadliest pandemic of the twentieth century, the 1918 influenza had destroyed many lives just like sand toys.
The H1N1 virus became acknowledged to cause this ailment. However, there may be no standard consensus about the starting place of this risky virus, it unfold worldwide during 1918-1919.
A death toll from this virus changed into stated round 20-50 Million.
Ebola virus ailment
It has first happened in villages of Central Africa.
The maximum complex Ebola outbreak changed into the 2014–2016 outbreak in West Africa for the reason that virus became first discovered in 1976.
During this Ebola outbreak, the cases and deaths pronounced were more than all others blended.
The loss of life toll changed into 2,249 reported.
Swine Flu
Swine Flu (H1N1) turned into a novel influenza A that emerged in 2009. The contamination from the virus changed into noticed in April. When the outbreak turned into on its height, the time vaccine commenced to emerge as available in November. As in keeping with the CDC estimation, 151,seven-hundred-575,four hundred people died global from the contamination at some stage in the first 12 months. Globally, eighty% of H1N1 virus-related deaths have came about in human beings more youthful than 65 years of age.
Death toll: 151,seven-hundred-575,four hundred
MERS (Middle East respiratory syndrome)
After being diagnosed in 2012, MERS (Middle East respiration syndrome) outbreak became suggested a couple of times.
However, the case fatality rate of MERS changed into 34.Four%, it become much less contagious.
MERS has a miles extra CFR than Covid-19’s, but every body infected with MERS infects best one additional individual. Hence, that makes it a lot much less contagious.
How dangerous is the Hantavirus in comparison with the COVID-19?
Newly emerged in China after the outbreak of Coronavirus, Hantavirus gave a brand new mission to the scientists.
It has a fatality price of 38 percent. Furthermore, the hantavirus's incubation duration is between 1 and 8 days. The Hantavirus mortality charge is a good deal extra than the coronavirus. However, it's far much less probable to transmit a number of the human-like the way COVID-19 has. Therefore, if you contact the urine, droplets, or saliva of an inflamed rodent and then contact your mouth, nostril, or eyes then handiest you can get infected with Hantavirus. And also, the relieving matters approximately Hantavirus infection is that it doesn’t transmit from human to human. In other phrases, if you aren't residing in a place where rodents are typically located or if you have no longer been exposed to a rodent, the chances of getting infected from this virus are very much less.
In end, because the hantavirus is not transmitting from person to character, it's miles much less risky than the novel coronavirus.
