The Quiet One

Erica Amor Catulin. Known as the quiet one in the classroom. We're not that close so I don't really know what to say about her, but her close friends told me that all the positive adjectives that starts with "Ma" is the way to describe her. Matalino, masipag, mabait, mapagmahal, maalaga, etc. I would like to get to know her better. In fact, I like to get to know all my classmates more because next school year, I think we're not gonna be classmates anymore. All of us will be studying in different schools. In that case, we wouldn't see each other more often, and then I won't be able to know more about those whom I am not close to. I just want to say to her that if ever I will have a chance to getting to know her better, then I'll truly appreciate it. If not, then its okay. It's not like it is a big deal right? But anyway, I know that I'm not making any sense here now, so I just want to say, Godbless you.

"A butterfly I will become. For this year I will be wandering around looking for nectars. Nectars that will give me the strength to grow more and become a beautiful butterfly." That is what I thought after waking up this afternoon. I'll look for opportunities that can help me to achieve my goals this 2018. Now that I'm beginning to understand how the real world works, I am starting to think about how will I manage to get through it. And then I realized that I need to start with education. It is really important to focus on my studies these days speacially now that I'll be graduating from junior highschool. They say that senior highschool is tough, but I am stronger and God is always with me so I believe that I can do it. Thinking about the Moving Up Ceremony makes me happy and sad at the same time. I am happy that I survived 4 years of junior HS, and it makes me sad because the family that I've known for 4 years in school will part ways with me. Yes, I will see some of them in school but it won't be the same anymore. Maybe we'll say hi to each other but some things will change. In some circumstances, I think it is part of our life. People stays in your heart, made memories, then leave. And then new people will come and do the same thing. But atleast you made memories that will last forever. And this year, something incredible will occur. Something that is unexpected. Something memorable is bound to happen and I know it.

Christmas. The season where families and friends reunites. Reminscing the past christmas years, reminds me of someone I truly know. Someone that means a lot to me. She is the one and only, Maricel G. Sese. This little brat taught me so much. So much that I couldn't think of any😂 But seriously, she is one of the best. She is my bestfriend. She appreciates what I do, joins every crazy things with me, scolds me when I do stupid things but still supports me, and evertything else. She really knows me. Well maybe because we're friends since we were little. And whenever I have a problem, she keeps on cheering me up. I didn't even tell her I have a problem but she already know it. She knows it. She gives me advices and it helps me a lot. Sometimes we fight over little things but we say sorry to each other before the day ends. This girl is my sister. Not by blood, but by heart. I think she and I will be friends until we'll have our own families because the two of us have plans already and I believe that God will let us be friends forever. I thank Him for that. And to my bestfriend, thank you for everything. I love you. ❤

Almost A Fairy tale

“I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale”

Like what the lyrics say, I’m not a princess and I’ll never experience having a Prince Charming because I’m not Cinderella. I will never have a Prince Florian because I’m not Snow White. And lastly, I will never have a brave,loyal, and kind Prince Philip because I’m not Princess Aurora. This ain’t fiction. This is a real world.

I once dreamed to have my own Prince Charming… SOON. But I didn’t expect he arrived so  early. But, hey! It’s just a puppy love. Is it? Nope. ALMOST.

I once met this boy named “Mel” (not his real name, actually). He’s known for his incredible moves when he dances, talented fingers when he plays piano, God-fearing personality, and his looks. He adores Trevor Wesley’s songs so much and loves to watch “Naruto”. He also has a brain. LOL. Of course that’s the first thing I will make sure my crush should have. Me? Just a typical high school girl who loves to read books and also has a brain. LOL. He’s popular and I’m not. He’s known by everybody in our school and I’m just like a normal student. But one day, everything changed. This popular boy met this very demure,modest, “Maria Clara” girl.

Mel and I became friends and I won’t deny that we want to be more than that…SOON. He’s also the first boy I’ve entertained. He liked me and I liked him too. Remember, “LIKE”. I still don’t want to go beyond that situation and that’s the reason why my friends call me “Maria Clara”. Not showing too much feelings. Though I’m showing it, but just secretly. The fact that we’re still in high school and still doesn’t have a stable job to fulfill our needs, it’s not good for us to be in a relationship. And also I came from a very strict family. We’re not suppose to have a boyfriend/girlfriend unless we now have our jobs or when we’re now 26 above in age. It’s enough for me that he’s acting like my inspiration in my studies.

Being old school never go out of style. For me, I prefer letters than gifts. I like to experience “Harana” than having sweet messages. I want actions than flowery words. And of course, courting should done for years not just days. Not through cellphone but personally. Though we didn’t think about that because we’re still young and its really creeping me out whenever I hear that thing. It’s like “courting” is not yet in my vocabulary.

For me, it’s really important to wait. It shows how serious you are to have that thing. You want to wait for it because you’re really into it. For you, that thing really worth the wait. Same as I. I wanted him to wait for me until we finish college and have a stable job but it didn’t go as what I wanted it to be. Maybe because we’re still stuck in being “friends” even though we’ve been years being in a “We like each other but we’re not suppose to go beyond this” situation. Of course because education is more valuable than that thing. But I didn’t expect he will get tired. He likes someone now and it’s not me. It’s someone else.

I always asking myself, “Am I not worth the wait?” and of course I always answer myself, “No, maybe he just don’t deserve me because I’m too good for him.” (SELF-COMFORT) The thought that he doesn’t want to wait for me anymore is not my fault. He’s just pursuing me. We’re still in high school. I shouldn’t think about that. (SELF COMFORT AGAIN) It’s just all depends to the man if he will be accepted by the girl. The only thing we, girls want is the boys’ patience. So, when he gave up on me, I didn’t care that much. But of course, I won’t say I didn’t get hurt at all.

Now, we’re doing great. I severed our ties. Ironic? Let me, please. I just don’t like to have a connection to him anymore. It’s enough. I’ve been hurt too much. Though I didn’t care much about our “more than friends” feeling last time because we’re not suppose to give it an attention unless the right time comes, as a girl, it really hurts. He WAS always at my side. He always makes me feel happy. It’s like “Tinaas niya ako ng sobra tapos bigla nalang iniwan sa ere” feeling. He ALMOST become my puppy love. He ALMOST become my Prince Charming I’ve once dreamed. It was ALMOST a fairy tale.

But, yeah. Just because we don’t know our destination, it doesn’t mean we should stop moving forward. Move on. We still have many things to do in our life. It’s just a memory of my 2017. Another year is about to come. I’m just 15, it’s okay to be hurt.

ASEAN SUMMIT 2017 The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, held it's 31st ASEAN Summit in Manila, Philippines; where the ASEAN Leaders unites and collaborates regarding international issues such as: ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC); aiming to have the countries in the region live at peace with one another, ASEAN Economic Community; tends to give opportunities to millions of people, and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community; tagrgets to build a socially accountable community. This year's theme "Partnering for Change, Engaging the World," the ASEAN Leaders have come up with the agreements and devlarations such as: Leaders' Declaration on Ending All Forms of Malnutrition, Declaration on the Gender-Responsive Implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and Sustainable Development Goals, ASEAN Consensus on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers, and etc. Through this ASEAN Summit, a stronger foundation of partnership is built to promote an active collaboration and mutual assistance on matters. For example, in a country, a super typhoon struck and many properties are destroyed, a lot of people were injured and some died; this is the time where the other countries help to restore the place to a better state. It's like these ASEAN Members are in one group of friends; when somebody is in trouble, the others will help. And by mutual assistance, it means that each one of the countries will help each other by expanding their trades, the improvement of their transactions and communications facilities. The beneficiaries will experience a lot of good effects with this kind of relationship, but one of the major advantages of it is the peace that they will receive. The peace that they deserve. The establishment of the ASEAN is brilliant beacuse it creates a bond within the regions that can lead to prosperity of each of the countries. Isa ang shabu sa pinakaginagamit na ipinagbabawal na gamot dito sa Pilipinas. Maraming tao na ang naaadik sa paggamit ng ipinagbabawal na gamot. May mga kabataan na ring gumagamit nito. Siguro dahil sa depresyon o maaari ding dahil impluwensya ng mga nakakasama nito. May iba't ibang epekto ang paggamit ng shabu, panandalian man o pangmatagalan. Katulad ng lubhang pag kakaadik, pagiging magalitin at kahinaang mag - isip. Ang gumagamit nito ay maaari ring makaranas ng kahirapan sa pagtulog, magkaroon ng halusinasyon, manghina ang memorya at nag uudyok na maging bayolente sa isang tao. Life's BIG Lessons by Ernie Cecilia, FPM

From the title itself, you can easily tell what it is all about. Life lessons; where you can learn something and can apply it to your daily life.

I’m not a bookworm but this book is worth reading. You will learn to know what you want, overcome life’s obstacles, find your inner strength, going after your dream, and create your own future.

I can’t say anything aside from “Wow”. I think this is a realization for me. For all the readers. All the things that is in this book. For example, in part I, no. 1. “This world is not made for your convenience.” I too believe that it is right. Everytime something bad happens to them, they ask Him, “Lord, of all peolpe, why me?”. Even with good people, bad things also happen to them so who are we to ask Him that? I think it’s time for us to not expect that everything that happens to us is good and accept that there are times that we experience bad things. Let’s just have faith in Him and everything will be alright.

It’s just the first part but then you’ll have a quick realization about one’s life. Continuing to read this book can make a change. Change for the better as they say.

Certified Public Accountant

A dream is a wish your heart makes. If you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true. In ten years time, I suppose I would be woking then. Working as a Certified Public Accountant at a bank or in an office, and earning. I chose to be an accountant because what I really want is to work at an air conditioned office. Yep that's right. That is all I want. Also I wanted to be an accountant because nobody in our family is a CPA and I wanted to be the first one. I can also see that in that time, I've earn enough money to buy the things that I have always wanted, travel in different places, and I guess I would already meet the love of my life by that time. I hope so. Hahaha. Now, reminiscing my high school years; Cagayan National High School. One of the best schools that I've known. Where I found my second family that helped me to be who I am now. CNHS tought me well and I am greatful for that because it helped me a lot to achieve my dream. I am really thankful that I was once a student to a great school. I am proud that I am a product of the well-known builders of countless achievers. I am hoping and praying to God that my dream will come true to help my parents and make my family proud of me.
