How did reg and right meet in the pirates Au?

Was Right a shark when they met?

Oh yeah, I've been meaning to draw this one!

RHM (Let's call him "Red" because he isn't second in command yet) was cursed to be a shark well before he met Reginald.

Before Red and Reg meet, it's Terrence who's captain on the Toppat Pirate Ship, and well, as we all know, Terrence is an awful leader. So during a plundering, Reginald is trying to get the treasure out safely while Terrence is all gung-ho about doing it for fun.

Terrence gets in the boat with as many crew that make out and he leaves Reginald behind. Reginald has to steal a rowboat to have any hope of catching up.

It doesn't go well.

Out in the middle of the ocean, with his ship nowhere in sight and no crew coming to rescue him, Reginald all but gives up when he sees the unmistakable fin of a big shark circling his tiny rowboat....

Red decides not to eat him though, seeing as Reginald is clearly a Toppat Pirate, so Reginald bargains that if Red helps him get back to his ship, Reginald will make him an honorary member of the Toppat Pirates.

...totally weren't planning a mutiny the whole trip back to the ship, nooo, no way....
