This is really a “so indulge me on this” fanart moment. I am heavily invested in the Sunspot solo series that exists in my mind & is Company-inspired, so what better way to end the challenge than finally sketching out the 1st issue cover that’s been living in my head!!

Monster Girl October Tarot day 6: Azovka/The Mistress of the Copper Mountain as the King of Pentacles card!

Azovka's story is told in "The Beloved Name" which tells of a giantess who immortally protects a hoard of treasure within the Siberian Ural mountains. If a man is successful in guessing her name, she will reveal herself and wed him, but no one has ever succeeded and instead many miners perish looking for the treasure. She is also in some stories treated as synonymous with another character referred to as The Mistress of the Copper Mountain who is a shape-shifting goddess who wears malachite, can take the form of a lizard, and is a dangerous, beautiful spirit in the mountains who protects incredible treasure. Since the king of pentacles implies wealth, success, and power, Azovka was the choice for this card!

Sydow sat quietly at the edge of the moonlight. No matter how hard he tried, the acid he sweats corroded his training sword. Losing the use of one’s weapon... He had feared his excommunication. Copper dragons all have a little tarnish but uncontrollable Verdigris was an anathema for the precision of the house. Day 29 - Johnny Storm (Human Torch)

I have… a lot of thoughts on this guy. so many. read the death of Johnny storm arc I’m literally rotating it in my brain all the time. he’s just. he’s so complex

Day 25 - Jamie Madrox

jamie is just so fascinating to me. he is so incredibly weird all the time and honestly you can only blame some of it on his mutation

Day 27 - Danielle Moonstar (Mirage)

sometimes I remember that we could have had Dani added to MPQ and I get filled with a quiet rage. anyway. Dani Moonstar quite possibly Best Woman of All Time. here’s my take on a Valkyrie-inspired hellfire look

Day 14 - 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

serious revision of a piece I did YEARS ago… much happier with this approach to the song! I’ve been in the show once and seen it twice and this song *still* destroys me emotionally

Day 10 - Carrie

would rank Carrie in top shows I’ve seen Ever like. emotionally the impact was enormous. this was very inspired by the scenic design of that production :)! there was stained glass projections along the proscenium and it was beautiful

cannot express how thoroughly embarrassing it feels to be googling images of presidents so I can draw them. first time I did this piece years ago my dad literally asked me what I was doing and that shame has never left me

Day 20 - Into the Woods

this show is my Scottish play. a part of me wants to be involved with another production of this just to see if something catches on fire again.

(did not mean to just die for a few months there but it’s been. It’s been a semester .)
