hey guys. bc of my mom's medical condition ( having missed about 16 hours ) she's roughly 256 dollars behind what she usually gets per paycheck. As such we only have like 50 bucks for essential groceries for both us and our cats. It would mean a lot if you could help us out bc while we managed to survive the whole car battery situation this is smth that's gonna be rough going. Everything else from her paycheck is going to medical/other bills. If you could spread this around that would be greatly appreciated.

it is once again that time of the month where I go through the sysiphean torture maze that is Walgreens and my insurances war on me getting my meds consistently.
I just got out of my pill shrink appointment and she, the best doctor on the planet, had the brilliant idea to send off the refill request at the beginning of the appointment, and then call them while on the line with me at the end of it to make sure it gets through
And. It's so funny listening to a doctor chew out the poor insurance guy. "So this medication, which is not controlled, has no significant side effects, and is covered under your policy is being denied why?" "Bc he hasn't taken Adderall -" "he had a heart attack last month and has a history of strokes." "I see that note. I'm pushing it through for approval... it should only take a few days before it's sent off to the pharmacy" "And the Prozac? (a controlled substance that is known to cause addiction)" "Oh yeah the pharmacy is showing that'll be ready tomorrow." "Do you see the disconnect here?"
Anyways we're now trying to see if ordering the qelbree in 3 month supplys reduces the number of times I have to do the sysiphean torture maze that is trying to get my fucking adhd meds.
I don't even take any of the fun ones.

If someone informs me that they also work in the medical field when they schedule an appointment, they're either going to be incredibly nice and patient or insufferable and rude, with no in between.

#can I just. scream for a second#so as is news to no one#we need to start over the entire us medical system from scratch#also I would like to be flayed alive and start over from scratch in the skin department as well#anyway for context: I've had some kind of rash/acne/infection/irritation all over my legs for over a year now#have tried various products and changed habits and products to try and get rid of it to no avail#everyone said you should really just go to a dermatologist#(I was not that inclined to do so bc the previous and only time I'd seen a dermatologist it was not a good experience. very condescending#also I don't like making appointments and stuff. girl I don't have time)#but I decided to be an adult and go (my insurance info seemed to imply I could go with zero copay even)#spoilers: that was not the case#anyway so I show up and surprise surprise: it sucked#she was dismissive and condescending imo. was literally like 'well it could be A B or C but I can't tell'#'all of those are basically impossible to get rid of anyway but the things to try are X Y or Z'#I asked to try Z since X and Y are things that I already tried and did nothing (which I had told her!!!)#but she just kept being like 'you just need to stop picking at it. that's the real problem and that's what's exacerbating your scarring'#(wow thanks never thought of that!) (she also insinuated that my scarring was ugly)#girl I'm not 5 years old I understand.#unfortunately for me that is a compulsion so strong it would probably take years of directed therapy to get me to stop doing that#what I'm here to see you about is to figure out what the problem is and how to stop it from happening in the first place#and STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT A COSMETIC ISSUE#it's causing me pain and discomfort that's the main problem! I would like that to stop!! and me not touching it would not solve that proble#also I wanted to ask her about something else but they were too quick about it. felt very Handled if you know what I mean#but anyway#she gave me a prescription for topical antibiotic which was the thing I had not tried#apparently my insurance doesn't cover it and it's also made of gold and plutonium or something#so she gave me a coupon for it#but get this#when I went to pick it up at the pharmacy they didn't take the coupon#the guy said. 'um this only works for the generic brand. and we don't have the generic brand'

I now understand why some younger generation people don’t even have a primary care doctor. This shit is frustrating and/or useless sometimes.

I’m really scared of medication lol but I’m gonna take half a pill at first bc I am a Baby#anyway feeling good (?) now :’) it’s a weird feeling#yay#she also ordered ADHD testing for me so ummm. we’ll see! I am currently on hold with my health insurance company because apparently my doctor labelled an expense wrong and they don’t want to cover something because it was billed as an x-ray and I had no need for x-rays. It was a heart monitor*. I am so frustrated. *a heart monitor that said nothing was wrong with my heart, as every single one of the many many MANY cardiac tests I have had done for the last decade has said

There was the heat wave and then after like 2 days of coolenss where I was like 'ah! finally#I can be productiv!' but just as soon as I had recovered from the heat.. it got hot again ghhhh#currently sweating inside. I actually had to leave my doctors appointment early today because I was just so so warm from#sitting in the car and the fac tthat half the buildings still do not have their air up very high and etc. and I felt so nausous#and flushed and started to get back and stomach pains for some reason.. Which I guess is good in a way to further confirm to doctors that#I Have Something Wrong With Me lol (most normal people should not be this heat sensitive I think) but is also still a little stinky#because I still payed a copay for the fulla appointment time but cit it short by leaving 15minues early.. grrr#ANYWAY. It seems like recently it's just hot all the time but it will ocasionally tempt you with a cool day of reprieve BUT don't let your#guard down! because as soon as you start to think 'hey things are getting better! :0' the sun will be like NO actualy. scalding temperature#be upon ye..#Which of COURSE. I would rather have hot weather with little breaks in between than just constant hot weather. 100% definitely.#but it just always makes me sad because I get my hopes up lol.. JUST as I've recovered from the past heat and am So Ready To Start#On All My Things now That I'm Not As Sick And Hey Maybe It's Even Cool Enough To Do A Costume! .. my hopes are dashed#.. woe and so on and so forth. . Which I am stil managing to get a few things done but just.. not the things I really WANT to do (costumes.#sculptures. edit videos. etc. ).#anyway.. look at son.. I am SERIOUSLY going to need 2025 to give me a break lmfao.
My cat needs a tooth pulled bc it's created an abscess on her tiny head, after several hundred dollars spent over the last few months to treat her allergies, and I'm just like 🙃 "ok."
Anyway, The Buglet tax:
#like the antibiotics worked! in that it reduced most of the inflammation#so $145 went to $1000+ in the span of about a week and I'm very annoyed#i have feelings about veterinary services costing that much up front bc all pet insurance only reimburses#(mine only does 70% and this popped up during her policy waiting period so hopefully we can fudge it so I recoup some!)#like vets need to be paid but my whole hysterectomy copay was about this#ughhhhhhhh

Grad school is so weird like im being paid below minimum wage and im stressed out more often than not but i have the BEST HEALTH AND DENTAL INSURANCE OF MY LIFE
Legit my cardiologist told me that i dont need another echocardiogram for 5 years but she scheduled me for one 2 years from now so i can get it nearly for free and reset that 5 year clock right before i leave grad school
And ive spoken to my dental office who say the students try to get EVERYTHING done in like 2-3 years. All the tests and cleanings because they know they wont have this coverage later
