And once they get to winter kings universe, since winter is also a Simon he takes interest in y/n! And we get some adorable jealous Simon moments!

Nah nah nah nah bc I NEED to know what hotch's deal was with fire related cases??????? HE WAS ALWAYS WAY MORE EMOTIONAL IF IT WAS A FIRE BUT THEY NEVER DID ANYTHING WITH IT SO WHATS THE DEAL WITH THAT HUH?? there were at least 3 separate episodes w/ fire plots, all pretty far apart from each other, and he had pretty much the same reaction to each of them that isn't a coincidence like you know the writers did that on purpose I just wish they gave us more info abt it. ALSO I wish the team like cared more???? BC it's pretty obvious that he gets way more antsy during these cases are you telling me no one notices????? Such a wasted opportunity for more character interactions and I'll never forgive them for constantly depriving us of this. I miss Gideon.

ok but fr?? bc it goes unmentioned by eeeeeveryone except gideon and unnoticed by eeeeeeveryone at the bau (except emily in that one ep but they still kinda hated each other so she didnt say shit and just kinda forgot about it, and derek in that other ep but only in the “im gonna act upset and blame hotch for his problems bc idk how to address my own fears/concerns/trauma when it comes to the way i care about the lowkey-suicidal kinda-father-figure bc i have problems” way) which is insane to me considering they’re all profilers?? i think it’s partly bc they unknowingly avoid profiling hotch (either out of respect or discomfort) and partly bc they’ve grown complacent taking hotch’s usual stoicism and “unmovable object” energy for granted as a permanent, impermeable pillar in their lives, almost to the point where they dehumanize him. they don’t like questioning their grounding anchor’s potential for weaknesses bc they depend on his unshakable solidity for their own emotional wellbeing. it’s much easier to intentionally overlook his humanity when they use his unflappability for their own emotional recalibration. which is fucked up for hotch? he’s really gotta play the part of the cool collected unit chief at all times. but then, he’s already used to putting his emotional problems on the back burner. ANYWAY thats just my excuse for why NO ONE FUCKING SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVER

it’s subtle—bc most interesting things ab hotch are vague at best—but he really does act different during cases involving fire. he’s on edge, distracted, less patient, snippy, or vulnerable in uncharacteristic ways. saying “i wish the writers had given us more ab hotch’s backstory” is redundant at best, but all these hints painting a picture of tragedy makes me want to know mooooore. like.. what were they thinking?? did the writers have anything specific in mind or were they content w ambiguity? it really seems like such a waste, especially when he’s clearly had an apparently very busy life. southern mom, distant younger brother, an abusive father who died in at least three different ways, coin collector, theater kid, troubled teenager, boarding school, apprehension towards fire, following his father’s footsteps and becoming a very successful lawyer, getting bored of that and joining the fbi, working as an ambassador’s security detail, working overseas, networking across a variety of positions in every place imaginable, somehow finding time for swat training and becoming a sharpshooter, joining the bau in record time, being the bau’s encyclopedia of random shit before reid comes around, carrying the responsibility of the team on his back while gideon recuperates… there’s just.. so much they offhandedly mention he’s done without ever really exploring any of it in further detail. it’s frustrating!! give my boy a proper backstory!!

Buckle up, babe, its time for a story!

(TLDR, a character name I made)

When I was a wee lass, about middle school, a show some of you may know called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out in 2012.

Now I was already sort of acquainted with the ninja turtles, but when I actually watched the show, my little mind blew like Mikey trying pizza for the first time.

I was also a gifted writer. I’m actually pretty talented at writing and letting words flow on a page, and I already had a VASTLY rich imagination. So naturally, I made a self-insert OC.

Now I decided I wanted to be close to the turtles so I made the OC their little sister. I was 11 at this time and they were 15, so she was 4 years younger than them.

Then I had to name this OC. I went through a variety of ideas, from Italian to a female renaissance painter to the French word for turtle (Tortue Marin) but eventually I decided since Yoshi is Japanese, he’ll have chosen a Japanese name. So I settled with Ming.

So I had an 11-year-old, blonde, blue-eyed, white OC named Ming.

Yeahhhhhh… I wasn’t great at names back then but moving along.

I think originally she WAS Asian, because I wanted her to be Splinter’s daughter. Then it was revealed KARAI was Splinter’s daughter, so I settled with adopted self-insert.

Buuuuut then I got bored.

It wasn’t enough for Ming to be just a ninja who was raised by mutants, no no no! I gave her powers. At first, just water powers. Then shapeshifting, then ALL the elements, then mainly fire and rock.

I also bounced around the idea for her “alter-ego” because, yknow, she was a superhero!

So, lame as it sounds, I basically took Cat Noir and Catwoman, without actually knowing either of them, and made CatGirl. Lame. But she dressed all in black and had a tail and claws. That was cool. She also had fangs.

THENNNNNNN I got bored again. This was about the time the 2016 Out Of The Shadows movie came out. By this time, I was head over heels in the franchise. I’d even made a best friend because of it, and shared my OC and fanfictions with her.

So I figured, since the turtles were 15 in the first movie, and the second came out only a year later, making them 16, Ming’s age was 11 in the first and 12 in the second. And I had made a special plan for when she turned 12.

(Spoilers, btw, for anybody following me on fanfiction.net (Starblood666) and hasn’t finished reading Little Sister, Secret Weapon)

I decided Ming would meet her true family. I was already playing with the idea of my father being the Devil which is a WHOLE other can of worms for a different day. So why shouldn’t Ming’s father be the Devil, too?

At first Ming was an only child with black hair and cat eyes in her demon form. Then it changed. I decided if the Devil had kids, his wife would, logically, be an angel. They would have to be permanently separated and of course, duh, they’d have twins!

At first it was, one twin would be an angel and the other a demon, but then it changed to both being demons. Ming’s twin brother was named Damien. (Of course. I’m so lame at names)

But that meant Ming couldn’t be her REAL name if she had a REAL family. So I started trying to think up a long pretty sounding name for a demon princess. I wanted Ming to be sorta in the middle so it was a nickname option. Damien still called her Ming.

At first it was Almingthea, but the L felt awful on the tongue and tbh, I sorta forgot that name for a couple months until it was fanfiction time again.

So I reinvented it to Amingethia. Long, random, pretty sounding, Ming in the middle, and the best part? If you googled those letters exactly that way, and turned off the “Did you mean…” nothing came up. It was an identity that felt like it was really and truly MINE.

But a long name isn’t enough without a translation. So I made one.

TRANSLATION

What does my name mean?

Ami means weak. Ingethia means powerless.

Amingethia means Weak and Powerless.

3. Their resilience. I really like that neither of them have had easy lives and yet they are managing to survive and thrive together. They’re both badasses and I appreciate the dynamic!

4. Choosing each other. Dmitry was ready to walk out of Anya’s life forever to let her be a princess in peace, but she chose to be a regular person, maybe even on the lower class side, just so she could live a life with him. I’ll! Cry!

5. The tropes. Smol and Tol YES, conman and princess, the nightmares and comforting, getting dressed up and looking awed, tiny bit of jealousy like GIVE IT ALL TO MEEEEEE! Immaculate. Perfection.

BRIDGERTON

1. Kathony. I know we haven’t met them on screen yet, but I will ride or die for Kate and Anthony. Truthfully, Kate is to me as Penelope is to you ❤️ and the fact that she’s about to be a WOC with the ‘untamable’ Bridgerton bro butt first in love with her is a hell yes from me. They’re spicy, she puts him in his place, EVERYTHING is mutual, they respect each other like... in my eyes they’re perfect. Top tier. The very best ship.

2. Saphne. I only have on screen knowledge but watching the Burn For You scene only solidified my love and admiration of them. She was really willing to give up a life without children and he just wanted her to get everything she deserved. They have flaws and rough patches (and a particular scene I do not agree with or condone), but at their basis and foundation, they are a good ship in my opinion.

3. Santhony. I don’t get why Kate stans are so pressed like... they’re cute 😭 I’m a Kate stan and I love Santhony! I think they’re adorable, and it was interesting to see their dynamic develop and shift and change as the season went on. I’m definitely curious to see how their relationship impacts the future ones in the show!

4. Colina. LISTEN listen listen listen this is mainly based off the fact that the only young black female lead was treated like freaking Cinderella the entire time but when Colin looked at her and was like ‘Who is that?’ I decided to go ahead and ship it with no remorse 😂 Do I agree with the whole trap situation? No. I think it’s shady, but I also think that they would have been wonderful together. Colin would have treated her so well and Marina would have absolutely done the same to him. I just think they’d be cute together!

5. Polin. ONLY IN THE BOOK. After reading The Viscount Who Loved Me and getting snatches of Penelope’s character, I decided this ship could have rights. Show Penelope is very low on my list of characters I like purely because of what she did to Marina and the EXTREME, NEARLY LETHAL AFTER EFFECTS OF THAT and a few other things along that line and nature. But book Penelope is like... actually cool so I think she deserves to be with Colin. On screen, for me personally to get behind it, I’m gonna need one hell of a redemption arc and legitimate consequences. But that’s the fault of the writers so 🤷🏾‍♀️

favorite thing about them: oh gosh so much. characters that act super polite and/or are genuinely good people grappling with bad things that theyve done/want to do are my absolute favorite i love the drama, the struggle between evil and good lol

least favorite thing about them: hmmm people have talked about this in better words than me but i do not like his crimson flower characterization very much; its like they tried to depict him as unsympathetic as possible without ever having hm do anything wrong?? like they kept up his Protagonist Morality Armor while trying to make him a villain and i dont think it worked well

unpopular opinion: felix is NOT a boring character!!!! i see so few people talking about his relationship with his father and in turn his learning to see the positives and come to terms with the negatives of faerghus's knight culture when its so pivotal to his character development!!! like he starts off one of the few characters that actively points out the violence hidden under the brash idealism of faerghus and then later on as other characters/the narrative starts to realize it too he conversely begins to see that having loyalty/honor/ideals can be a good thing and i feel like he thus plays an important role in the azure moon story

it is a long time but idk.. it can create friendships that last for a long time. i’m still bestfriends with people i got to know at 5 years old and i’m 21 now so sjsjdksdk i guess being around each other for so long makes your bond different. but i’m sure it’s the same when you share those crucial teenage years together too.

The Prince and The Carpenter

EIGHT MONTHS OF EDITING AND IT'S FINALLY FINISHED.... i hope ygs enjoy this little chapter :DD constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!!!

Trees rustled in the breeze, releasing their orange leaves throughout the sky. Squirrels hustled and bustled, frantically gathering acorns to prepare for the coming winter. Bakers vigorously kneaded dough behind frayed windows, whilst others in the kitchen popped steaming pies out of the oven to cool. Many people and their families were out and about in the town square, laughing and bragging to each other about the spoils of their harvest.

Yes all was well in Palisade– but children always find ways to disrupt a perfectly peaceful day.

“We’re going to be awesome, Min-Gi! Just you wait, they’ll never know what hit them.” a boy dressed in red-colored rags said enthusiastically, giving his cully a toothy grin. “Mmm. I’m not sure, Ryan…” the other boy, presumably Min-Gi, replied. “isn’t it a little… untraditional?” Min-Gi asked. 

“Yeah! That’s what makes it fun!” Ryan chirped, putting an arm across Min’s light blue jerkin. Min gave him a weak smile, tightly gripping the shiny flute in his hands. Min was nervous, he wasn't quite sure how his parents would react to their performance. After all, they hadn’t exactly practiced a lot, the possibilities of how his parents would react was infinite, and it was all on such short notice, they could have at least planned it better.

All these thoughts were running through Min’s twelve-year-old brain, distracting him from the current moment. Somewhere in the mix he must’ve found a middle ground, because eventually, Min glanced up at Ryan, whose grin was infectious. This was an absolutely terrible idea, but some of Ryan’s enthusiasm must have rubbed off on him, because he gave in. “Okay, I’m sure one song couldn’t hurt.” Min exhaled, following Ryan to the throne room. 

And with that, it was over.

Long story short, Min’s parents weren’t terribly fond of the performance. Min could tell right away, his mother had that sullen look plastered on her face, attempting to hide it with  her fan. His father simply ignored him, looking away from him. Min should have known, really, it was naive of him to think it would go any other way. He could still remember the metallic taste that lingered in his mouth after he removed the flute from his lips, tasting more bitter than usual.

Consequently, the next week, Min was told by his parents that Ryan’s family had moved, catching him completely off-guard. He didn’t quite know how to feel, Ryan wasn’t exactly good at talking things over with him, or his family for that matter. Min just couldn’t grasp why they would leave, being carpenters for the Rulers of Palisade was definitely not a bad business deal.

In just a few days, Min felt his entire life shift before his eyes. His studies became harder, dances and parties frequented more often, and extracurriculars doubled.  Min rarely had time to himself, and the world simultaneously felt too big and too small. He did it all diligently, but it still took him back a little. Okay, maybe more than a little.  

It didn’t get better over the years either, it just kept adding up. So he learned to keep up.

“Min-Gi, are you in there?” an overt voice asked, snapping the prince back into the present. Min’s eyes darted to the foil sword in his hands, and he sighed, twirling it around in front of him.  “Sorry for interrupting your daily brooding fest.” The lady in front of him muttered, rolling her eyes. 

The woman in front of him was Roseline, his insufferable fencing instructor. She was a pale-skinned woman of slender stature, with curly hair trimmed perfectly at her chin. Regularly donning a green kirtle with a white band collar, she always dressed to impress. But above all, Roseline was a perfectionist. She had high standards; and she expected nothing less from anyone, prince or not. Although Roseline was a supposed “expert,” it didn’t make her any less exhausting. 

Generally, Roseline would teach him techniques and he would practice them on some sort of prop. Yet, since this was a summative test, he would have to use the skills he learned against her. He replayed the moves in his head over and over, silently wishing he had practiced more yesterday. 

“So, are you gonna stand there or…” Roseline trailed off, looking down at Min’s shoes. With an exaggerated sigh, the prince put one foot back and bent his knees, indicating he was ready for the match to begin.  

Roseline made the first move, a sideways feinte. Min could feel the sword start to slip out of his hands, but he braced himself and did a swift counter attack. In this moment, there was no “Min” or “Roseline”, no fancy titles, and no petty grudges. There was just his blade and his opponent; and the blade was determined to succeed.
