A Review Of Shy Velvet

I totally get the hype around this dress as I’ve had an eye on it for a while. I finally purchased it for my upcoming trip to Hawaii and it’s just not for me. I will say the material feels better than I expected (it’s not see through) and the color was just as described, but the style itself just isn’t flattering for me. I’m 5’3” around 190 (still postpartum from my second baby) 36D and athletic with wider shoulders/arms. I usually wear L/XL and ordered the XL. The square neck was okay, the length was okay but my whole back was out in the open. Even if I size down I fear I might still just look like a linebacker, so unfortunately this dress is going back.

Very well done copy of another dress. The fabric has a great weight and looks like a good cotton/linen blend. Comes in so many colors (we ended up ordering several.) Easy to steam, fits true to size and overall a home run dress. Arrived quicker than expected.
